ST. LOUIS, Missouri (CNN)- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin admitted that the Bush administration made "blunders" but accused Sen. Joe Biden of playing the "blame game" and pointing the finger too much at the past.
Palin said McCain's policies will bring change to the U.S instead of finger pointing.
Biden sought to link John McCain to President Bush during the debate.
Biden said he had not heard anything during the debate that proved to him that McCain's policies are any different than Bush.
ST LOUIS, Missouri (CNN) - Building an embassy in Jerusalem is intensely controversial. Several candidates have made that promise...none have kept it.
Gov. Sarah Palin, speaking at the vice presidential debate on Oct. 2, asserted that Sen. Joe Biden recently said "higher taxes or asking for higher taxes or paying for higher taxes is patriotic."
Get the facts!
ST LOUIS, Missouri (CNN) - Palin is bringing up Biden's comments from the Democratic primaries when he was critical of Obama's vote against an Iraq troop funding bill. But many of the troops funding bills included other provisions, like troops withdrawal timetables.
Biden responds by mentioning that McCain also voted against the troop funding bill, which did include a timetable.
Palin counter attacks by saying that Biden wants to wave the white flag in Iraq. Biden responds by lumping McCain with Vice President Cheney and saying that McCain has been dead wrong on the war.
(CNN)–Expectations are high for Palin AND Biden. Many of you read my commentary this week on CNN.com and I haven’t changed my opinion.
I’m tired of Washington journalists continuing to say that the expectations are low, and the bar even lower, for Gov. Sarah Palin.
And the same goes for Sen. Joe Biden.
One of these two will be Vice President of the United States. How in the world do we tell our children every day to have high expectations in the classroom, but we should expect the vice president candidates to not raise their game? Nonsense.
It’s time for Biden and Palin to show America what they are really made of.
Bring it on!
ST. LOUIS, Missouri (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin praised the surge in Iraq and said Barack Obama voted against funding the troops in Iraq.
"The surge and counter insurgency has worked," said Palin. "It would be a shame if we quit on Iraq."
Sen. Joe Biden said he and Barack Obama will be the administration that will end the war.
"We will end the war. With John McCain there is no end to the war," Biden said.
The statement: At a campaign stop Monday in Columbus, Ohio, Sen. John McCain said Sen. Barack Obama "has proposed more than $860 billion in new spending."
(CNN)–Were those Katie Couric interviews a devious head fake? I've heard Biden say at least twice now that he agrees with Palin. First on the issue of windfall profits, and then on the issue of gay marriage. Regarding the first, he actually said he and Obama would like to do what the Governor did in Alaska. Economic conservatives won't like it. But for debate purposes: advantage Palin.
The Statement: At a debate Thursday, Oct. 2 in St. Louis, Missouri, Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin charged Democrat Sen. Barack Obama of supporting higher taxes. "Barack had 94 opportunities to side on the people's side and reduce taxes, and 94 times he voted to increase taxes or not support a tax reduction - 94 times."
Get the facts!
ST. LOUIS, Missouri (CNN) - Palin veers off course - the question is about helping consumers with crushing debt, and she's responding with energy policy. Politicians frequently change the subject, but this was a pretty obvious 180.
