All I'm going to say is Sarah Palin doesn't not her behind from a hole in the ground without being coached. Even in this article she is still repeating her talking points. And you can bet she will not be doing anymore interviews for any reason.

Our country is in the situation it is in because we choose to believe the rhetoric like Palin exbounds consistently - GW had a similar style, threw out the one-liners, smiled acted like - "aw shucks, I'm just a concerned, christian guy". Whatever. And now, the country is broke, we are in a war (from lies and misrepresentation), that we can't afford and the world thinks the US is pityful.

Let us keep putting our heads in the sand.

For all of those ranting about "socialism": socialism has been alive and well in this country for quite some time -- from the "gas and water socialism" of the Progressive Era, through the New Deal and into present day.

All of you against "socialism" will no doubt be voluntarily returning your social security checks, refusing medicare, hauling your own trash to the dump and making your own electricity from now own?

I still say that the Fed should instead have loaned those homeowners the money themselves at a low say (3%) rate (like they give the banks) for an extended time.
They would still make a ton of money over 30 years. And the economy would have been stimulated again! The taxpayers would have been spared and our country would have saved a bunch of cash.
I'll bet the CEO's we bail out today will file for Chapter 11in 2 years and they will get record bonuses to boot!

Oh Well, The Rich protect The Rich!
Vote McCain because he understands the poor worker!

Just think if Obama gets elected Pelosi, Reid, and Barney Franks will be running the country. Then see how fast she goes down. China will own us and there is no truning back. We have to stop spending NOW and get our country back. Obama wants to spend spend spend. Someone has to balance the budget and get us out of this mess.

"Silent no More….

I totally agree. We should probably get the ball rolling soon. With Obama's lead in the polls, and his plans to all but completely disarm America, it won't be long until the sheeple star turning in their weapons and we are officially in a totalitarian state.

MOLON LABE!!"

Go right ahead and start the revolution. Heck, I hope the South secedes. This time we won't waste the bullets and lives trying to keep you willfully uneducated ignorant drains on society in our country. Have fun in Jesusland.

Now, this should be the trigger we need to kick the spenders of our money without our approval out of congress. Get the democrats out because they did it again. These people criticise wall street and the corrupts in it, yet they bow to them using OUR and our children's money. Don't vote for what they PROMISE. Vote based on what they DO.

Hurts don't it? When greed and corruption kill capitalism, even the "conservatives" turn to socialism. I realize that as a braindead unthinking conservative this may be a traumatic time for you. But hey, if you're a socialist like me, this is fricking awesome.

John in Ohio.

I completely agree. I have tried my hand at voting for the third party. It was in an election that was so close, it had to be recounted in some states. I feel that my vote was lost in that election. So, unless I can find a large group of advocates for my candidate out there somewhere, I will place the safe bet this time around, simply because I think at this point, keeping Obama out is my #1 priority. However, if McCain were leading in the polls I would feel more confident in voting for Barr knowing that the primary party voters were doing their part to keep socialist policies out of our Govt.

How does it feel to run a Dictatorship and not a Democracy, Pelosi and Bush? You are violating the Constituional rights of the American people because you refused to listen to us! This trash bailout bill is a disgrace to this Country and for the importance of Congress catering to Wallstreet, foreign banks and the rich?

I guess I should be expecting free government health care next week. Followed by free education, free food, free housing, free gasoline, free......everything for free. Right? The federal government has taken another giant stride towards socialism. Thanks House Democrats and Republicans for voting for this legislation that promises to make all our lives so much better. And, thanks for the pork too.

To those who lie and say: 'this was good for the economy". How can the buying up of bad credit, be the solution to bad credit? This is just another way of making sure the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor. Market economy when things are going right for the rich, socialism when things aren't that well for the rich... It goes right to show that the so-called "conservative" economic liberterianism ends up at the door of political liberalism and government control. This is not capitalism, nor socialism, this is just a big fraud.

I just learned that the bums put lipstick on that dog and married it. I call for a clean sweep this year: Throw out the bums who created this mess and those who voted for this "make the rich richer" social welfare program for financiers who should have paid the price for their own failed policies. Democrats or Republicans, it's simple: If YOU voted yes, you don't get my vote this year.

They didn't listen to us. They should be voted out of office. McCain or Obama? At this point, I would rather vote for Miss Piggy.

Silent no More....

I totally agree. We should probably get the ball rolling soon. With Obama's lead in the polls, and his plans to all but completely disarm America, it won't be long until the sheeple star turning in their weapons and we are officially in a totalitarian state.

I am happy now that Obama will not have any money to spend when and if he becomes President. There ain't none left now.

He will be forced to raise EVERYBODY'S taxes even those who make no money at all to pay for all his programs.

Oh and for those rich folk that make more than $250,000 they will have left the country and taken their businesses with them to places like Ireland, Costa Rica, Bulgaria , etc.....along with all the jobs that Americans use to have.

So he might have a bit of a problem finding anybody to tax........

Now, can we truly take back our country. What do you think would happen if we elected 435 new members to the house and replaced a third of the senators? It's up to us to do so. We elected these morons, we can't complain that they could screw up a rock fight (which has no rules).

"I would love to vote for Bob Barr. I can think of no other candidate more capable of the change we need. But, I think that a vote for anyone other than Obama or McCain might be a wasted vote. Don't get me wrong, I say vote with what you believe. But, right now I am more concerned with keeping Obama OUT of the White House than voting for my favorite candidate who does not have a realistic chance. So, unfortunately I feel that, in order to make my single vote worth all it can be, I must cast my ballot for McCain."
---------------------------------
That's why a third party candidate will never win in the US. That's why I laugh at all the Ron Paul supporters, and all the Ralph Nader supporters, and the Bob Barr supporters. People complain and complain about the two party system, but nobody will ever put their money where their mouth is and support a third party. Nobody will ever vote for a third party in any great numbers because they're too afraid that the other guy might win. Good job, you are an excellent example of why every national election in US history has been between two parties, with the third parties being considered an ineffective fringe.

We need to clean up Washington! If you are fed up with the status-quo then lets revolt, start all over again.

I recommend that we DO NOT elect any incumbants from any party. This will bring lot's of new, unencumbered people to congress. The lobbyest's haven't gotten them in their pockets yet and we will let everyone one know that the American People are going to be watching them and if they don't respond in our best interest they will be gone too.

I don't think they could do us any more harm than what has already been done.

All they did is pay off foriegn debt because it has been called in (main stream media and our government don't want you to know this). Now the abyss will truly open up. This was a delay before the collapse. Should have let the markets correct themselves and let the values adjust instead of inflating them. You better stock up. They've already prepared. An entire brigade of the Army on call (duty) in case of civil unrest effective Oct 1st. They are shredding the Constitution. It is against the Posse Comitatus Act.

Obam is not a "Socialist", but he does hold too many socialist ideals. His regulatory policy suggestions indicate that he, just like the past few administrations, would like to see more government and less constitutional freedom. Of course, I am voting for Barr. He is the only candidate with a decent grasp of freedom and capitalism. I am neither Republican nor Democrat and I certainly could never consider socialist anything.

I wish peopel like You and Me could get loans like this with no collateral.
Welcome to socialism. Welcome to Obama.

Take a look at that vote, 172 dems, 91 reps. Remember which party stood up for the people. Remember which party paid of their bad debts with your money.

Mike Huckabee for Pres in 2012. He stood up against the bill, when most other national politicians supported it.......ex. Obama, McCain, Bush, Pelosi, Reid, McConnell, Boener. I'm sure Ron Paul and Bob Barr also were against it as well, but neither will ever be president.

Every Congressman who voted for this socialist bailout should be voted out ! The majority of American voters did not want this and we are supposed to be a government of "We the People"

Simply unbelievable! And now they have started preparing us for a 2nd bailout-- yes, repeat...2nd bailout. People, you better start listening to the news...some are claiming this is only the beginning...the problem cannot be solved with one bailout, so they so.

America should have been left to suffer the consequences of what it has created - a consumer culture that is consumed by materialistic pursuits, do anything to keep up with the Jones'. America should allow itself to face the consequence of the choices it has made. Yes, regardless of the consequences. Sometimes that's the only way to learn a lesson!

This better be the birth of atrue 3rd and independent party!

Disgusted!

Each are one step away from federal prison."

Blunt, Bush, Paulson, McCain, Gramm, Boehner, McConnell...

Wasn't just Democrats who pushed this.
