Sarah Palin was fantastic - as I fully expected. Here's my fave:

"SAY IT AIN'T SO, JOE!" Soooooooooo perfect!

Joe Biden is a good guy but same old same old. Sorry. Typical of the DO NOTHING CONGRESS.

Our MAVERICKS will go to Washington, courtesy of the voters - not the NEWBIE and the OLDIE.

Let's put it this way: Sarah Palin has more experience than Obama and she's not the one running for President.

Hillary, it's too bad your own party dissed you and played the racism card. As a Repub, I even started feeling bad for you and Bill watching you get torn apart by the media and Dems.

from the "show me" state

Palin did not answer many questions, she just followed her own program, i.e. her "programmed "answers. America needs a V.P. that can think without being prompted and make sense. Sara did not come off as V.P. material. Yeah! Joe, you were great and God Bless America.

I find it strange that people thought Sarah Palin did reasonably well. Were they literally expecting her to break down and cry? That is silly. Of course she did not do that.
What happened is that she memorized a script. And she used a minimal amount of improvisational skill to turn every question back to the script, at one point early on in the debate practically admitting that is what she was doing (when she said that she may not answer as they want her to). In fairness, this small task may have been slightly beyond what George Bush could have done. But it is still no feat at all. She is not ready.

I have to agreed with you Hillary. Biden stated facts and he is very experience. Sarah Palin is not qualified to run this country if something should happen to John McCain who is too old and out of touch. Sarah scares me.

Last night I watched debate and commentary at other TV stations
ABS,NBC, CBS and noticed more professional aproach in comentaries than CNN.While others do best to avoid being bias CNN is doing opposite.Isn't TV to be informative and truthfull to it's audience??
All you see on CNN how they orginized great team to go after Sarah Palin even sent bunch of investigators to Alaska in order to dig anything possible, shame on you all as you lost journalistic dignity and ethics.

The new Sarah Palin speak has me energized. After watching the debate last night, I've decided to start sending emails with the new Palin speak.

So here goes: I can see her now, sitting down with the head of some country:

"Well, doggone it, Mr. Premiere, we can't be havin' ya goin' into other countries like that. After all, we have an energy thought to our friends in the Dominican Republic and, heck, our allies, God Bless 'em, might need our prayers to continue soccer games given what is this world as McCain and I continue to be; I mean, with the soldiers and Iraq and everything the tolerance which I have can only pay for the pipeline in Alaska if the United States, the closest country to see Russia from can keep us on Main Street and their interests"

Make up your own, it's fun, and it is sooooo easy!

Biden won! It is clear to anyone who watched the debate. I think low expectations have made people excuse her run-on non-answers (the line where she said no child left behind twice comes to mind). This is really simple.....
Palin is not qualified. If she ever became president, it would be another Grant, Ford, GwB type presidency. A presidency run by a committee and group that you did not elect that is pushing policies that help special interests with Palin as its public face.

How can anyone vote for that?, especially now.

Sarah Palin is indeed scary. She is running on empty, and seems so much like the characters in the movie "The Stepford Wives". I heard Pat Buchanan say she did well, she was attractive etc. Who cares about that last part except someone who's only watching the outside personna of a person, her body, but not her mind. You had better watch what she is saying at all times. She was well rehearsed, and I do mean that, and so repetitive. Over and over she kept mentioning the word "executive". Be on guard.

I am sick and disgusted of the cutesy, folksy, flippant female running for VP. A wink, and a cross- your- fingers attitude is not the criteria for being Vice-President. Why isn't anyone talking about her lack of knowledge regarding the duties and responsibilities of the Vice President.? She clearly did not know.

And whatts with the eye wink? Who is she winking at? Its easy, if either of the candidates died (G-D forbid), who would be the better Presidential candidate. No wait, who is the only one that coudl lead our Nation?

OBAMA FANS,

IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER WHAT BIDEN SAID OR SARAH SAID LAST NIGHT YOU WERE GOING TO TEAR DOWN SARAH.
ACTUALLY SHE IS THE MOST HONEST PERSON OF THE 4 RUNNING FOR THIS ELECTION.
SHE IS NOT FROM WASHINGTON (THANK GOD) AND WANTS TO FIX AMERICA.

I REALIZE THAT OBAMA SUPPORTERS DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT THAT.

ALSO I TRUST HER MORE THAN ANY OF THE OTHER 3.

HOW CAN YOU TRUST OBAMA??

It sure seemed to me that Gwen Ifill respected the comments from the Republican side before the debate and backed down on how aggressively she could treat Ms. Palin. Jim Lehrer tried to get Obama and McCain to stick to answers and wasn't successful, but I thought Ms. Ifill could have been much more forceful in directing Palin to answer the questions. Most telling point was when Palin responded, I don't know, I've only been at this 5 weeks. Where is her experience now?

Woefully short of substance.

To Akin:
-whats so funny about TALIBANI? She was talking about Iraqi president Jalal Talibani, not about the group Taliban.
-you're right on about nuclear. Like Bush, she also pronounce nuclear
as "NEW KILLER" :-)
Any objective people would say her presentation was good, but there was no substance on it. On atleast four occasion she didnt answer to the questions rather talked about her energy policy experience.
On another note, if Alaska is so great, why dont all of us move to Alaska?

-whats so funny about TALIBANI? She was talking about Iraqi president Jalal Talibani, not about the group Taliban.
-you're right on about nuclear. Like Bush, she also pronounce nuclear
as "NEW KILLER"
Any objective people would say her presentation was good, but there was no substance on it. On atleast four occasion she didnt answer to the questions rather talked about her energy policy experience.
On another note, if Alaska is so great, why dont all of us move to Alaska?

Sarah Palin 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And if McCain doesn't win, I hope Sarah runs for a U.S. Senate job and goes to Washington anyway and gives the democrats a run for their money...oopss...should I say "my" money which I'm tired of the democrats blowing, ie. fannie and freddie, thanks Barney and Chris who are in the tank with Obamanation. Lastly, Sarah Palin as governor knew just about as much as Bill Clinton did when he ran as a former governor from where? Arkansas can you say hillbilly state? I guess it's okay for a democrat to "just" be a governor but not a republican. Can you say hypocrit?

This election is to iimportant to disregard the fact that we are in two wars, the economy is a wreck, jobless rate is increasing, our global standing abroad is a comedy hour, and poor leadership from the current administration. We can not afford to go backwards with the same policies, same idealogy and same philosophy that brought this economy and nation in this mess.

One more thing - I'm so glad Joe Biden addressed the "McCain Maverick" issue! I am so sick of the Maverick nonsense being spouted from the republicans, and glad that Biden spoke his mind about it.
John McCain is NO Maverick, and neither is Palin.

Sarah was outstanding despite CNN hits. Shows she's a quick study just like Obama. Of course, Obama had a head start being taught from day one when he entered the race. But this goes to show you
that Obama isn't the only one that can be taught politics!

It's always a bad sign when you think that by "not screwing up big time" means that's a win for your candidate.

Sarah Palin didn't do anything to erase the mistakes of the past few weeks. She can give a good stump speech. We already knew that. She's a mom. Ya sur yabetcha we knew that as well (see! anyone can be "folksy"). She can dodge questions. Again, we get it.

She showed she can be a good soilder for the GOP. But not ready to lead them to anyplace.

Biden was Biden. Palin had to turn up the folksy last night, but Biden just IS folksy people.

Oh yeah...and any candidate...I don't care if they are male or female...loses my vote when they WINK at me. How many times did she do that anyway? You are running for VP, not trying to pick America up in a bar!

Hey Hill,

You were the one who said that Obama is not ready to be commander-in-chief and you were right! I guess you, like all politicians, it's just the flavor of the day.

And about government controlled healthcare, are you kidding.......look what you did to the economy.

You and Joe Biden and the other democrats act like you care so much about places like Scranton......give me a break, you all have been politicians for quite some time and have done nothing for them except exploit them for your political gains. And, you were the one who said it was unfortunate that Obama caricaturizes people from small towns as clinging to religion and guns. And yes, they become bitter when people like you exploit them for your own personal gain.

McCain/Palin '08 (we need leadership that walks the talk)

Oh Bull. Biden was good, and does talk confident and knowledgeable, no doubt. BUT... he doesn't tell the truth, and that gets overshadowed by his "presidential" demeanor. OBUMA absolutely said he would meet rogue leaders without precondition. Maybe not explicity Iran, but that was implied in the question at the primary debate. Response to question about these meetings: "I would". The Exxon tax cuts are bull too..... they just happen to be a corporation, Joe. Obama's voting record, as well as his characterization of McCain were also lies.

Biden was outstanding last night. He didn't putt Palin down too much but he stuck to the issues that WE the common ordinary people talk about around our kitchen tables. Palin offered obsolutely NOTHING in her speech, there wasn't a clear understanding of what the McCain/Palin ticket would do and how they are going to solve the crisis in America. Palin sound rehearsed and reading from a script. Palin is good at reading from a telepromter but to just know the issues she's not.

Joe Biden hit the ball out the park and laid out a clear plan and Obama/Biden has my vote.

And I am a staunch Democrat and hate to have to come to the defense of Sarah Palin, but that was not some silly gaffe from her (though she has made plenty of others!).

One more thing. I'm so sick of these tv anchors weighing in on what a great job Palin did with her own image. She already showed the world what an idiot she is with her interviews. Who can forget that? So even if she didnt bumble, she didnt answer any questions with any depth. She just hit her talking points, on what they prepped her to say. "There you go again Joe"... What was that??
And how can you act like the Bush Administration is a thing of the Past, when he is the SITTING PRESIDENT RIGHT NOW-- PRESENT DAY!! TODAY!!!

The word is N-U-C-L-E-A-R not N-U-C-U-L-A-R and God forbid if I have to hear it for another 4 years. What’s with the wink to wish away incompetence? Bush also flashed thru his debates in 2000 for those of you who care to remember.

Here is how mediocrity is shoved down your throat word-for-word.
Palin: I May Not "Answer The Questions The Way You Or The Moderator Want"...

Ifill: "As Vice President, there's nothing you've promised as a candidate that you would take off the table because of this financial issue?"

Palin: "There is not, and how long have I been at this? Like five weeks?"

McPalin did a lot of dancing and remembering negative tactic again Obama and Biden but guess what? Biden stung her like a bee. He didn't let her tell nothing untrue about their campaign but she couldn't answer anything about the Republicans. Now that is unreal. How can you come into a campaign and can't defend your partner except he is a madman for change. Give me a break. Joe bounced, dance and made her act like a lady that was moderate but not too studpid. Remember the Republicans went back on their words and put PORKKKKKKKKK in the bill. McCain signed the bill.

Joe Biden is simply the best.
Palin and her folksy actions may be nice to some, but Joe Biden's real (uncrammed) knowledge is what I want. He is absolutely the best choice for VP in my lifetime, and it just proves to me that Senator Obama mae the right choice.
I'm so glad Senator Clinton is campaigning for Senator Obama. She knows what's at stake with the repulicans being elected and she out there fighting for our country.
We can all fight for our country by electing Obama-Biden!!!

The republican base was so happy that she didn't fall on her face that is no wonder 84% of the people said she did better than expected. Her expectations were so low that all she had to do was walk onto the stage. Thank you Senator Biden for resonding to all the the questions rather than dodge the ones you had no answer for.

Thank you Senator Clinton! An intelligent woman who knows what she's talking about!

Unlike that trained chimp we were forced to suffer last night.

Is it really beating expectations to pronounce your own name correctly and not drool on the microphone? I have friends and family that are more knowledgeable on foreign, domestic and financial affairs than Palin.

No more incompetence in Washington! It's not funny anymore and America can't afford another four years of it!

Obama/Biden '08!!!

The bar was set so low for Palin that anything beyond a disaster made her look good. But she failed to answer any of the questions and when she did answer a question she needed to look @ her notes. What a disgrace to woman!

Wow Repubs. Mediocrity is being shoved down your throats and you're loving it.

We don't need another "Joe Six-Pack" running the country. We've have enough of the of that already.

Oh, and she's a self proclaimed energy expert that can't say "nuclear." Isn't that cute!

I kept waiting for the moderator to follow up to Palin by saying "you did not answer the quetion"! McCain handlers set up this entire joke-if you are too hard on Palin , you are sexist. If moderator was too hard on Palin, she was biased.
Amazingly, 40% of supposedly intelligent Americans thought she did well!

Yay! Palin can speak coherent sentences! That proves she can be VP!

Sadlly, this will be enough for a lot of people who want to see themselves in the White House rather than a great leader.
