Sen. Obama campaigned in Pennsylvania Friday where he currently holds a 10-point lead over Sen. McCain, according to a new CNN Pennsylvania poll of polls.

(CNN) – A day after the McCain campaign announced that it is shifting resources out of Michigan and into other battleground states, CNN’s latest polls of polls in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania suggest that Sen. John McCain may face an uphill battle in both states between now and Election Day.

Sen. Barack Obama is now ahead in New Hampshire by 6 percentage points. Obama has the support of 48 percent of likely voters in New Hampshire while McCain’s support stands at 42 percent and 10 percent are unsure about their choice for president.

In CNN’s previous New Hampshire poll of polls released on September 26, Obama was up by two points – 46 percent to McCain’s 44 percent.

During the Democratic primaries, Obama lost Pennsylvania to Sen. Hillary Clinton. In CNN’s latest poll of polls, however, Obama leads McCain by 10 percentage points with likely Pennsylvania voters – 51 percent versus 41 percent, with 8 percent unsure. In CNN’s previous Pennsylvania poll of polls released on October 1, Obama also led McCain by 10 points – 49 percent to 39 percent.

“The New Hampshire numbers in particular are a worrisome sign for the McCain campaign,” noted CNN Senior Political Researcher Alan Silverleib. “Granite State voters saved McCain in the 2000 and 2008 Republican primaries. He’s had high hopes for the state’s four electoral votes in November. But New Hampshire is a state that, like the rest of New England, is increasingly tilting Democratic. At least for now, it looks as if McCain’s personal connection to the state may not be enough. At the same time, Obama’s double-digit lead in Pennsylvania is threatening to keep that state’s 21 electoral votes out of serious contention in the campaign’s final days.”

CNN’s New Hampshire general election poll of polls released Friday is composed of the following three surveys: Research 2000 (September 22-24), Suffolk University (September 21-24), and St. Anselm College Institute of Politics (September 25-30).

CNN’s Pennsylvania general election poll of polls released Friday is composed of the following three surveys: Quinnipiac (September 27-29), Muhlenberg College/Morning Call (September 27 October 1), and Franklin & Marshall (September 23-28).

CNN’s polls of polls do not have a margin of error.

Palin and McCain Please! This woman and hubby avoid supoenas and with all her baggage have the nerve to acuse Obama of anything. She is under incestigation, plus she wants to blame Katy Couric for her lack of knowledge?

Wayne D. PA   October 4th, 2008 9:35 pm ET

Watch out for insane McCain lies it's coming because he is losing. What bother me is insane McCain did'nt like when Bush went with lies so McCain has nothing left to do but lie. Ayers is first than Rev. Wright thats all they have left so brace your self and don't believe the hype.

BM   October 4th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

According to some news reports I've heard say that thos winks had men sitting on the edge of their couches.

BM   October 4th, 2008 11:59 am ET

Palin, those winks can get you in trouble. You should have been teaching your daughter that is called nothing but flirting and and an attempt to seduce.

Don't worry Red dog Republicans, Carl Rove will think up
some last minute trickeration to pull a Florida recount

or an Ohio vote disenfranchisement

or a Ongoing frivilous legal challenge that will extend the election to Dececember and have it decided by the conservative Bush-filled U.S. Supreme Court, thus ensuring four more years of Republican mediocity and incompetence.

Never to worry...

Life is good.

Michael   October 3rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

I think people are beginning to get it. There is more to being the president of this great nation than Mccain has at the moment. Thanks to this timely economic shake-up. People are beginning to look beyound race and sentiments to the overridding good of this nation. Now that the politics of blackmail – blaming Obama for what he has done or has failed to do – is not working.....I wonder what other tactics the "maverick" has up his sleeve.

The greatest crime we can commit for which our children will pay for is to vote for John McCain.

Voting for McCain would mean to vote Ignorance over Knowledge.

we spend hundreds of thousands to pay for school so we can feed our families and live a honest life, yet an ignorant woman like Palin considers knowledge and education unnecessary for the second highest honor job in America. Have we lost our minds? Are we really these stupid. May God have mercy on the world and save them from our ignorant hands if that is the case.

How can any honest American think that McCain who has never had to work a honest day of his entire life and an ignorant woman like Palin are better than you, is beyond my wildest dream. All I have to say is shame on you if you vote for McCain. And under such case may you live long enough to see your own children curse you for your ignorance.

Vote John McCain and you vote for the self-destruction of America.

Mr. McCain is completely out of touch and confused, how he could tap Ms. Palin as his running mate is just incomprehensible given the option of countless qualified conservatives he could have easily selected. Ms. Palin has very little to offer except the possibility of inciting bigots to repeat the same mistake in the White house.

Topsed   October 3rd, 2008 6:54 pm ET

Americans are beginning to see the farce called John McCain. He ran a lack-luster primary campaign, changing managers at every turn, and then capped it all by choosing a semi-imbecile for VP. Americans are too smart to keep electing the dumbest ones among us to the White House... Not right after GW.

The change in the polls are cofirmation of 3 things for McCain.
Most Americans are resentful for becoming poorer at home because of the war in iraq(you know the war that was suppose to be quick according to Bush, McCain and The Republicans). Why do we have to suffer? Number 2, McCain erratic behavior during crisis proves he is unfit to handle pressure of the presidency. Three, that his politcal stunt to place a psycho soccer mom/joe six pack in a position to have the real chance of running the country has failed. Everyone knows that she was picked for two reasons...One to get Hillary's votes. Two, to pick someone who did not run against him so there would be no record of difference of opinion between the two like biden and obama.
After the debate Palin left me with the distinct impression that I had just watched a Psycho PTA Mom. Her condescending tone aimed at her opponent and misleading and evasive answers evinced exactly how crazy and identical this female counterpart is to George Bush.

Machiavelli, Baton Rouge, LA   October 3rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Is it getting a little late in the campaigning for McCain to make up ground on Obama in some very key states? McCain has had well over a year to connect, or disconnect if you wish, with voters. Therefore, if he has not done so in that time, how can he possibly do it with only a month to go before the general election? However, McCain does have the RNC and PAC's to put out some ads fin battleground states for him, but how long will they continue to spend on ads when they see that Obama's lead is increasing across the electorate?

For one thing, McCain does not have the war chest that Obama does.

Secondly, by Obama picking up states that the Republicans have won for years–some for decades–it forces McCain to spend a lot of money, that he doesn't have, on states that have traditionally voted Republican.

Lastly, McCain is just running out of time because television ads alone will not convince a large bloc of well informed, disenchanted voters right now. People are upset about the Wall Street bailout when they are losing their jobs, and for some them their homes. To win those states that are turning blue, McCain will have to make a lot of stops throughout them, and the number of Democratic-leaning states are only increasing. Even at a younger age, McCain would not be able to keep up with the pace of campaigning that much over the course of a month.

After last night disgusting performance by Palin I truely question McCain's judgement all the way back to his envolvement with the Keating 5!! He is reckless and narcisstic and just toooo old!!!! Who are these 'undecided' voters? Sept-Oct upswing for Obama-Biden is partly from new campus registrations of college students. now being polled. But there are still ~6% to 9% 'undecided' - scary. I don't know any, except a few grumpy Hillary fans who will go Obama in the end as they don't like McCain or Palin. Palin keep telling the truth. Tell them about McCains tax and health plan that will benefit them up to 2018. Keep telling them that a "white flag of surrender" in Iraq will bring down america both miltarily and financially. The world will no longer see america as a source of strength. Keep telling them, that its the same old insiders that are running for President, but yet, there is one ticket with an outsider that can bring perspective and realness to one of those tickets. Keep telling them about Obama's upbringing in a church that preached hatred about america and white folk.

My tally of the count is closer to 407 electoral votes. This is going to be a land slide. Bill Clinton got 379 against Dole in 1996 and was the highest since 1968.

The new phrase for this election will be: "The Tsunami of 2008" "The Election Tsunami of 2008" or something in that nature. You heard it here first.

I will not be surprised if McCain looses a few RED States too; given the fact that no one is polling the voters who have cell phones only.

How about McCain loosing Arizona too??? Yikes!

What McCain needs to do is send all of you Republican voters your money back. 1. Because this is election is so lost . And secondly because you will need it as soon asthis bailout fails and another 1 million jobs are lost. You people really don't get it do you, maybe Obama is not "the savior" but he sure as hell is better than 4 more years of the same. The last thing we need in the White House is stupidity...again! Everyone needs to go see the movie W on the 22nd of October and you will see just what a moron you elected last time is. So go on, love your hockey mom again for a couple of weeks....yes she a nice litele cheerleeader but at some point she will have to face the press unscripted...again and again....then you will be back to asking yourself why you are such a moron for supporting her and MR. Gosh, that American flag lapel pin that Gov. Palin is shown wearing in her debate with Sen. Biden, is HUGE !! It's twice as big as the American flag lapel pin Sen. Biden is wearing,..So, the question,- is the person who wears the biggest flag the most patriotic; the most American? And, since Abraham Lincoln and George Washington didn't wear flag lapel pins, – were they less patriotic?

Stephen   October 3rd, 2008 6:38 pm ET

The GOP is falling apart, not because of Pallin or Mccain, but because of its platform. Americans are finally realizing the depth to which the GOP has harmed this nation. We have fallen behind at almost every level. Education in math and science, broad band access, healthcare quality and affordability, technological advances, the climate crisis... and especially alternative energy development.

Remember that it was Ronald Reagan, their patron saint, who cancelled tax breaks for alternative energy development. Now the chickens come home to roost, and what is the GOP response? “Drill Baby Drill.” This is preposterous to any thinking person, and on November 4th, the Republicans will lose not only the White house, but Congresional seats, governorships and court appointments. FINALLY, enough people are OUTRAGED, and the chorus throughout the land will be:

THROW THE BUMS OUT. Thank you Pennsylvania and New Hampshire!

RyanM   October 3rd, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Unfortunately the bag of dirty tricks is going to be opened up on Barack. Closet racism alive and well?

The sad thing is McCain will likely bring Gov Palin down with him.

Even though I disagree with Gov Palin on any number of issues she appears to be a decent and engaging person. Too bad she has to share the ticket with McCain.

Stephanie   October 3rd, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Of course Obama is pulling away now. McCain has tried almost every trick in the book to distract voters from Obama. From the "celebrity" ads with Paris and Britney, to the misleading ads about Obama teaching kindergarteners sex ed, to trying to pretend his choice in Gov. Palin was a well thought out consideration. It's like Halloween; no matter what you do to disguise yourself eventually the mask comes off and we see who you are. America is tired of all the tricks, we want the treat of Obama-Biden!

Laszlo in L.A.   October 3rd, 2008 6:36 pm ET

Good news for voters on the East Coast who have work or school the next day and don't want to stay up late. You should all know who the next president is by the time you go to bed.

Palin is out there running for 2012 – not 2008 – while McCain's Straight Talk Express has been in the ditch since early summer. His entire campaign has fallen apart in terms of energy, vision and message.

Expect the talk show conservatives to start admitting they never liked McCain in the first place. An Obama presidency will at least give Bill O'Reilly something consistent to snark about for the next 4 years.

What no one wants to talk about is the reality that our country is in peril. Our economy is imploding. The logical conclusion of outsourcing our manufacturing and industrial base. The only thing that has kept us alive is obesity, the endless super-sizing of the service economy. We are witnessing the unravelling of the American Empire. Shanghai is contemplating becoming the new financial headquarters of the world. And we are trying to figure out who won the debate? We will wake up one sunny morning and realize that it is going, going, GONE, that shining beacon on the hill that the neo-cons turned into one extraordinary rendition of the fat lady singing.

R. Squibbs   October 3rd, 2008 6:29 pm ET

We're at that point in every close race when the balance begins to tip, undecided voters begin to make up their minds, and numbers begin to pile up for one side.

McCain's too angry and clearly out of touch, and Palin's "folksy" act rings just a little too hollow to appeal to anyone who's not already a GOP base voter.

And I think that McCain and Palin are the only two people left in America who actually believe that they're "mavericks." After Biden's demolition job on that last night, I'm a little surprised that McCain is still grinding that "maverick" gear. It just goes to show how little he has left to run on.

Unless we see the mother of all October Surprises, this thing's in the bag for Obama-Biden.

Be carfeul what you wish for. I used to be an Obama supporter but he lost my vote when he asked us to help bail out Hillary. He continued to loose my vote when he chose a long time senator-Biden to be his running mate. Our country is in the toilet because of our greed, plain & simple. No-one can settle for less anymore, instead of owning a smaller home, people go for the big, spacious home to keep up with the Jones's. Banks sell the outrageous mrtg and their Ceo's make out big time. We have no-one to blame but ourselves. However, I do not believe Obama is the answer. I do not see how his socialist ideals will help me, middle America, at all. You talk abt Palin not having experience, she has more than he does.

Way to go all of you campaign workers in PA, MI, NH, oh they are all over the place and busting their tails to make a difference. Make no mistake that you are the driving force in this change. Not just the people at the campaign offices either. The everyday guy and girl out there staying current on whats happening and talking to anyone who will listen. Obama once again has spoken the truth about how this historical change must happen from the bottom up. We are taking back our country from the rich, greedy fat cats and in the process we will restore this country to the greatness it should be. Caution: There can be no let up in the efforts because if given a chance the Republicans will steal this thing like they did in Florida. They have shown time and time again they will pull out all the stops and play the fear card so keep the pedal to the metal until election day. Thanks

Wasn't Palin so to get McCain over the finish line in Pennsylvania?

And what happen to McCain's big New Hampshire lead?

Could it be McCain's selection of Palin proved he was no "maverick'?
Instead, McCain proved he is a typical republican.

CaliforniaKid   October 3rd, 2008 6:21 pm ET

I think it would be really interesting if Obama won the election by taking Michigan and New Hampshire, two states Mitt Romney would have definitely won for the Republicans if he was on the ticket. Of course, if Romney was on the ticket, with the economy being far and away the most important issue, the Republicans would be dominating this entire election.

As a registered Independent, this is great news for those of us who have now made our decision to vote for Obama/Biden; however, I still expect some kind of "dirty tricks" or "October Surprise" or "bold move/decision" on McCain's part to shake things up. Here's hoping it doesn't work.

Eric   October 3rd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

If I were McCain, I would concentrate on North Carolina, Indiana, Ohio and Arizona right now because his numbers aren't looking too good there. Wisconsin, Penn, NM, Col, Virginia are out of his reach now. The electoral map is shrinking everyday and his campaign now knows there is basically only one slim road to a victory.

After his loss, the analysis will come to one conclusion. It was all about Romney. He was the one who made it obvious to the Americans that McCain does not understand anything about the economy.

And then, he was the one not chosen, for purely emotional reason (McCain can't stand him) even though he would have helped him on the economy. Instead, McCain went for Caribou Barbie, who proved to be a disaster. Looking backward, it is always fun to see how a campaign rests on only a couple of small details.

Why can't the goverment bailout the tax payers with $100,000, total taxpayers in the U.S are around 300 million.
That mean total payout is 300 billion and a lot of people can afford buying and/or staying in their houses or even pay some of the debt and keep the economy rolling instead of giving the money back to wall Street and Banks!

Can someone bring this issue to the politician and get an answer!

Drew from Green Bay, WI   October 3rd, 2008 6:10 pm ET

It's pretty clear to me on what McCain needs to do to have a chance to win the presidency. He needs to play defense. He needs to get Ohio and Florida on his side, and then attempt to work on Colorado, Missouri, and Virginia. Virginia is going to be McCain's toughest state to gain, but if he loses Virginia then I really don't see a way for him to win. He would need Wisconsin, and I really don't see that happening. Even if it did happen he would still need New Hampshire or Nevada, which seems like a fat chance to get 2 out of 3. Virginia is still a red state and could be taken if he hits there late and hard so that Obama doesn't have a chance to respond. The only problem with my strategy for McCain, is it only leaves him with a 269-269 tie, but I still think it's his best bet. Minnesota turning to a leaning Obama state has done a lot Electoral Votes wise and really restricts many McCain's possibilities.

FactCheck   October 3rd, 2008 6:10 pm ET

Time for a lesson in English grammar.

A CNN headline this morning read "Biden did the best," referring to last night's debate between Biden and Palin.

When comparing two debaters, one must speak in the comparative sense, NOT the superlative sense. It is incorrect to say that Biden did the best in the debate, since there were only two debaters.

If one believes that Biden won the debate, then one should say that Biden did the better job, NOT the best job.

This free lesson in English grammar has been brought to you by a supporter of McCain and Palin.

Kurt   October 3rd, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Palin achieved what the McCain campaign wanted her to do, i.e., save the conservative base,
and stop the rebellion from such staunch conservative zealots like George Will and Kathleen Parker.

At the very best, this is all she could do, anyhow.

Her subpar to par performance does not prevent the inevitable defeat of the McCain-Palin debacle,
it only postpones it.

The key to this election lies in the unspoken, undecided, independent vote.

This block has been gravitating consistently toward Obama
and the debate has increased the momentum.

The premature abandonment of Michigan by the McCain camp attests to this phenomena.

The conservatives will not change their vote, nor will the Obama Democrats.

New, independent, and undecided voters are pivotal in this election.

The truth is the only reason this group is undecided
is that despite the fact that their hearts and minds
are convinced that Obama will be best for them,
best for the country,
and is the only leader
that will restore America to its true purpose and status,
they are strugggling with and will continue to struggle with
the inertia and resistance in their consciousness, being, and predisposition
that will allow them to put their lives, hopes, and destinies in the hands of an African American.

So it goes in America.

It is getting to the point where McCain will need to win virtually every remaining battleground state in order to be elected President. The polls show him trailing in most of them. They are also trending away from him, not getting closer. Governor Palin didn't hurt him last night during the debate. At most, she eased the fears of the republican base that she will further erode his candidacy. His decision to leave the campaign trial and spend the weekend back home in Arizona is nothing less than amazing. At a time when he needs to pick up the pace he is taking the weekend off. He is either giving up or he is so worn out that he needs the time off regardless of the personal cost.

Shane LBC   October 3rd, 2008 5:58 pm ET

MI, PA and NH is in the bag for Obama. I also predict VA, NM, and CO to be in Obama's goodie bag. In addition, I see a chance for Obama in OH, FL and even NC!!! Obama doesn't have to worry about MN or WI. They say are battle grounds but I don think they are.

Its obvious the majority of America favor Obama. If all registered voters actually vote it will be an overwhelming win for Obama. Young people tend to vote democratic. In addition, even if the polls are close, they do not represent young people proportinally since most polls are done using the landline. Many young people use cell phones.

One more month for the VOTE. The candidates are campaigning hard in the swing states. Now that the McCain & Co pulled out of Michigan, Barack can focus on other states. Oregon, New Mexico, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and New Hampshire will go to the Democrats. That makes it 257 for the Democrats. Colorado and Virginia will go to the republicans. That makes it 211 for the Republicans. At this point in time, i feel Obama & Co should focus more on Ohio or Florida. They are going to be the key states. Obama needs at least one of those states.

Dan   October 3rd, 2008 5:54 pm ET

If you really feel Palin did great last night, it would explain why you also feel she is qualified and a good VP pick. In both cases, you show a real lack of knowledge and lack of understanding about the job she is up for in this election. Cute and downhome are not skills for this position. You are letting your emotions and or disdain for Democrats cloud your judgement and perception. The woman is truly scary. She is the type of person that uses her looks and charm to lead you to think that she is a sweet and regular person. Listen to her tone and comments when on the attack. She is very very scary.

Obama/Biden is so close to the finish line and McCain is still looking for a game changer. That is what causing me anxiety because McCain has been running a sleazy campaign and who knows what other tircks they have up their sleeve.

On another note: VP debate was good but can't agree we those who say Palin won.........It's sad that Americans have such a low expectation for people we put in office......The lady is completely clueless and yet I read pundits calling her a winner because she didn't BOMB...I wonder what people around the world think about our IQ.......To think we have to "dumb it down" when it comes to vp candidates...............UNBELIEVABLE.

Don't get too excited. There are lifelong Democrats in NH like me who supported Hillary. We don't want the government to shift sharply to the left. We wanted a centrist approach to policy like that of the Clintons. Barack Obama has a history of consorting with radicals like ACORN, Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc. At the moment, I am inclined to vote for McCain and Palin - just to be safe.

dyellon md   October 3rd, 2008 5:45 pm ET

It is increasingly evident that the country in general is turning away from the policies advocated by McCain and Palin. All of us are tired of the 8 years of incompetence from the Bush Presidency and we see McCain as representing more of the same. More tax breaks for oil companies and the wealthiest Americans, more trickle down economics, more job loses and lack of health care for the 47 million American who don't have insurance, more foreclosures, more failed businesses, more Preemptive wars and billions of dollars and countless lives being lost for nothing. We have had enough and change is in the air and on the mind of all of us. Why would we want 4 more years of McBush. By the way, he is a really nasty old gremlin who I don't want to listen to for the next 4 years. Actually he is unstable and probably senile as well.

I would like to know if this package HAD to be, and all these extras were placed in the package that seemingly benefited one state head's interest or another. Why every state head couldn't just put something in the package in the interest of their individual states while extras were being put in, I will never understand.

At least if tax payers could not get individual relief of some sort. Our residing states could have benefited from it as whole. Like police force care, corrections care, or, big sisters big brothers, more this, more that. Allow everyone to benefit somehow, someway.

At least we wouldn't feel so abused by our government. I ask now, were they really thinking about all tax-payers or themselves and the select few of their own choices.

rich   October 3rd, 2008 5:37 pm ET

LOL. So much for putting resources in New Hamshire. Pennsylvania is McCain's wet dream. It aint gonna happen. McCain is going back to the senate on Nov 4, and Palen? well..she may as well hitch a ride back to Alaska on the moose she rode into town on. America is in the dump because of the repulicans and Bush, and there is no way in hell this time around they are going to put McPallen in the White House to continue a Bush 3rd term as they are going to vote to reflect their pocket books. So again, the 'maverick' & "war hero' and the chiwawa with lip stick needs to start coming to terms with the most likely outcome of this election: They will loose.

Americans should be scared as h*** about a McCain/Palin. The Couric and Gibson interviews were not a figment of our imagination. Without a teleprompter or cliff notes on the podium she struggles, to put it mildly. Cute and folksy doesn't cut it. Joe Biden was the only one at that DEBATE. Palin had a list of talking points and was like a Robot with an Alaskan accent. Please.

I wish Gwen would have reigned her in better. Oh yeah, she couldn't do that because McCain would have cryed FOUL.

Farrell, Houston, Tx   October 3rd, 2008 5:22 pm ET

John McCain has put one of his 13 bedroom homes on for sale market and he still has 7 homes left and now he wants to live in the White House. Many Americans have lost their 3 bedroom homes or are struggling to keep their homes to avoid living in their cars or in tents. Americans don't get a home for sale profit, they are evicted, children and all. Shame on John McCain and his pathetic greed.

Brenda   October 3rd, 2008 5:21 pm ET

Obama/Biden!!

Ellemn Rudolf   October 3rd, 2008 5:20 pm ET

Ms Palin is a contradictradiction of sorts. She chides Biden for speaking of the past, then states thoughtlessly, that one learns from the past.
I tried to support her, but she just doesn't get it. America must once more seek to take its place at the top of the list, and I am afraid that Palin won't do it. Our leaders must be able to think independently, not function as a well programmed machine.

The McCain/Palin ticket will not be able to dupe us again with simple winks and old war stories. That VP debate showed us what a real McCain presidency would be like. A state of confusion with no real leadership. McCain likes true judgement. He is ruining Sarah Palin and his LAST shot at the White House. John McCain is too big of a risk for America. My TRUE gut feeling tells me the Dems have better plans for America. Thanks McCain/P,alin but NO THANKS.

Come on New Hampshire lets deliver your state too!! We are so excited to have you aboard the OBAMA train. Sen. Biden did a fantastic job last night at the debate. Sarah's performance will not erase the horrific interview with Katie. Independents....I have question for you.....Can you actually see her as being the President? That's a scary thought. She is nothing but a pretty face and beauty only runs skin deep. People are hurting in the country and we need the Change that Obama/Biden offer. This is not a joke don't be swayed by winks and smiles. The future of the country is at stake.

George from OH   October 3rd, 2008 5:15 pm ET

McCain pick for VP illustrates to the max his thought process. If something happened to McCain, the US would be in a world of hurt under Palin. Palin's knowledge on foreign affairs, economics, etc., is less than that of most 9th graders. Palin gave her personal description of what the VP does during the debate. Biden quoted what the VP's responsibilities from the U.S. Constitution.

Palin is a ditz and if the citizens of Alaska voted her in office, she was voted in for her looks, not her brains. When Palin and McCain are together watch McCain – he is looking at her like a dog in heat. McCain may be thinking "Drill Baby Drill" but it isn't oil he wants to drill.

My biggest issues are: we are fighting in a country that has done nothing to us, and the people we are fighting aren't the residence of the country. Secondly, the US Government offers FREE education to people of Pakistan, India, China, etc., and they have to do to get the Free education, is attend a US College and promise to work for 5-years in the US after they graduate college. This sucks and is WRONG. How about FREE education to those who are in the military and serve in harms way? How about a GI Bill that will pay tuition, buy books, and pay room and board? How about VA Benefits that will pay our Veterians Medical Bills instead of dening the Veteran was injured while serving our country. My son 4-years in the Marines and two tours in the Middle East, can't get the VA to treat him for PTS nor the knee he injured while serving his County. YEP, I'm pissed, for I've had help him pay for his college, and paid his VA Medical Bills. We ask a lot of our troops and we do little to show them our support for doing what they do. McCain voted 20 times to reduce VA and GI Bill Benefits. How is better than the soldiers of today? In my opinion, his love for money has turned a once very patriotic man into someone who isn't patriotic.

Yes, I'm questioning, McCain's patriotism! as we all should be. We owe McCain nothing and his lack of patriotism over the past 26-years is why he doesn't deserve to be President.

37-year-old First Time Voter   October 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

Oh, and by the way, her interview on FAUX news shows she's disastrously is NOT qualified to be VP. Who are you to tell someone what they should ask in an interview? She's annoyed by Katie Couric's interview???? Does she think she's not immune to answer tough questions?

This really did it for me. I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt after last night's debate but she continues to open her mouth and proves what an idiot she is.

Ben in Atlanta, GA   October 3rd, 2008 5:11 pm ET

Note to Obama supporters: Ignore the polls. Get out and vote! This will be a close elecation.

Andy   October 3rd, 2008 5:10 pm ET

Sounds good to me. A vote for McCain/Palin is a vote for 4 more years of the same old mumbo jumbo and we cannot afford to put them in the WH. People are finally waking up to the fact that w/McCain/Palin do not have our best interest at heart. McCain picking Palin for VP, I think, disqualifies him from becoming POTUS.

Jerry Ohio   October 3rd, 2008 5:08 pm ET

Bye Bye McCain why did you make Palin look like a fool on that stage I think she a nice person but she not ready to be president or VP

A Woman In California For Obama:   October 3rd, 2008 5:07 pm ET

Like of course. Like anything else would be uncivilized (Palin/McCain).

Great job last night Joe. Those republicans are running on empty right now. They are scared stiff of what Ms. Whalin will spout out next.

Note to Sarah: I was NOT impressed with your "in your face-I am your all American (gurl) attitude last night. You proved once again you are NOT ready on the national level. Each time I am forced to look at you I see the Tina Fey image and therefore, I could NEVER take you seriously because that is who you are a flake. You can't control your own household yet some Americans want you to take on more responsibility. The fact you bring your youngest daughter to events to care for your sick child is a disgrace. I can't wait to cast my vote AGAINST you and your old man (McWar).

On another note: was it me or did Sarah's head look extremely large last night?

Keep up the good work Joe all you had to do was let her talk ignorant and she did.

Obama/Biden. America's best choice.

Mr Republican   October 3rd, 2008 5:07 pm ET

Who trusts polls? 80% of the people don't want McCain or Obama. They want a 3rd party candidate.

McCain/Obama out 08

THE BOTTOMLINE AS TO WHY JOE BIDEN SHOULD BE THE NEXT VICE PRESIDENT.   October 3rd, 2008 5:06 pm ET

The fact that Palin was able to speak correctly by using complete sentences, finally, should have been a given and not a measure of success. Sarah’s next step should be to try speaking complete words such as getting instead of gettin’ but I cannot expect too much at this point. Then maybe that is the “folksy” quality which I guess I do not understand up here in my elite ivory tower, surrounded by servants while I look out at the serfs sowing the fields. But apparently I am suppose to give her more time since she has only been in the race for 5 weeks. Tell that to Putin, Sarah Simpleton.

Biden, who I have only seen at the DNC and the debate far outshined Palin.

Most importantly Biden has a bond that I truly envy. When his son, Beau introduced him to the crowd at the DNC he had to pause when speaking about his Dad and it was obvious he loves his father very much. Then last night when Biden was talking about his sons and the horrible accident that took the lives of their wife, mother and sister, he choked up when discussing his kids. Since I have no kids, I can only imagine how it would be to care so much for someone it is obvious you would gladly and willingly give your life to save the life of your son. So, Joe, all those 2 hours train rides to go back home to be with your sons was worth every bit of your time and I commend you. That empathy is DEFINITELY a quality I want in a man that will have the ear of the President. Especially when the President is discussing whether to send the sons and daughters of America, to a pre-emptive war. A war that to date has killed 4,000+ and wounded 30,000 and still counting.

Eric   October 3rd, 2008 5:06 pm ET

Looking at these poll number has me hopeful! Obama has a serious shot at winning Ohio or Florida based on the latest polls. If he takes either one McCain is finished. He as no realistic route to the white house without winning both of those states. Obama, however, still has alternate routes to the white house even if he doesn't win wither of those. Its looking good folks, hang in there Obama and keep up the fight. I got another donation coming your way!
