Palin disagrees with McCain's Michigan decision

Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.
Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.

(CNN) – The McCain campaign decided this week that the battleground state of Michigan may be out of reach for the Republican ticket this year - a move that's drawn criticism from one prominent dissenter: VP nominee Sarah Palin.

Earlier: McCain cedes Michigan to Obama

In an interview with Fox News Friday the Republican vice presidential candidate appeared to be disappointed with the decision and said she still wants to take a stab at winning the state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in two decades.

She also said she made her disagreement known to top campaign officials:

"I fired a quick e-mail and said, 'oh, come on! Do we have to call it there?' she said. " Todd and I would [be] happy to get to Michigan and walk through those plants [with] car manufacturers.

"We'd be so happy to get to speak with the people there in Michigan, who are hurting because the economy is hurting," she added. "Whatever we can do and whatever Todd and I can do in realizing what their challenges in that state are, as we can relate to them and connect with them and promise them that we won't let them down in the administration."

McCain aides told CNN Thursday Michigan increasingly appeared a long shot the Arizona senator and the campaign had decided to divert its resources there to other key battleground states. The latest CNN poll of polls in Michigan shows Obama with an 8 point lead in the state where the nation's economic woes have hit hard.

But Palin maintained Friday she and McCain still have a shot there.

"I want to get back to Michigan, and I want to try," she said.

Tough luck , Palin was brought in to fire up the base and to woo women voters over to McCain mainly Hillary Clinton's supporters and that's all

Michigan isn't decided until Nov. 4th.

Palin connects directly with the people, especially folks from the Mid-West.

They probably aren't very prone to sitting up at night to read these blogs, but there are a lot of people that are going to vote on election day for McCain/Palin that no poll numbers are ever going to predict.

Two factors are affecting this race that has never happened before:

    1. The color of Barack Obama's skin.

    2. The gender of Sarah Palin.

If MSM keeps bumbling down the same old road they have from previous elections, they will have done the American public a great diservice.

The jig is up....time to start reporting the news instead of creating it.

She probably doesn't really disagree, but they put this out to make it sound as if she's truly a maverick. I'm not buying it because nobody disagrees with Captain McCain. The day she disagrees and publically makes it known without him knowing is the day she's off the campaign.

It's a free US tour for her and her family. Why not keep all 52 states. Finally, she get to see the country she love after 42 or so years.

Let's see – Palin admires G.H.Bush because he became president after being VP. Personally, I think power has gone to her head and she now wants to be president...move over McCain. If this ticket does win in November she just might get her dream job. By the way, how's taking care of her little 5-month special needs baby since Todd is always with her. Ever notice at a campaign stop either Cindy or Todd are hanging around in the background. Maybe, neither one of them trust John not to make a move on Sarah since it's common knowledge he likes beauty queens – - first wife Carol, second wife Cindy and now his VP Sarah. Anyone see a pattern here?

What I find most shocking and scary is that some people still support this ignorant, very unqualified person. I mean, wasn't it bad enough for those folks to vote for Bush twice? Now they support this moron. This is truly unbelievable.

This is a stunt and everybody know it. This campaign is so desperate that they are willing to make Palin feel like her voice really counts.

Who's the vice presidential candidate here, Todd or Sarah.
I'm beginning to get a little confused about the boundaries between them, just like the people of Alaska.

wow – she really is crazy.
what exactly is she (& todd) supposed to accomplish by 'walking thru the plants'?
is that going to miraculously create more manufacturing jobs?
doesn't she know that grandpa is going to smack her down for opening her mouth out of turn?
sarah, please let us know when you will start visiting the sunday morning news shows since you will make yourself more accessible.

I certainly hope Sen. McCain has his own food taster, and uses them!!!! I think it is a Freudian slip when Gov Palin "accidentally" refers to the Republican ticket as the Palin/McCain ticket. If I were McCain, I would also sleep with one eye open in case an "accident" might happen to him and enable the very ambitious Gov Palin to step right into the presidency should they win.

I wonder how long it's going to take for McCain to get tired of Palin publicly questioning his decisions. McCain has recently made it clear that any campaign decisions are ultimately made by him and him alone. I bet it's going to get quite crowded at that top of that ticket.

This is ridiculous as usual with these people.

Does she really need to go CAMPAIGN in Michigan to "realize" that MI and the entire country are losing 50,000 manufacturing jobs – each – and – every – MONTH?

Interesting that McCain did not discuss this with his running mate before making the decision. This whole Todd and I thing – that's how she's been running Alaska. Google Todd Palin and shadow governor. The high school grad only, Alaskan Indepence Party member would be the REAL VP.

It is shameful that a few people in this country think Sarah Palin did a good job last night. That show of hers was very unprofessional. She was not answering the questions, as asked. She could not rebuke anything Biden threw back at her. I am getting tired of the silly remarks and her onelines. It is ashame that the Rep. think she is smart, or just good enough to be president, if something was to happen to McCain. She doesn't have it. Anyone can see that, but the Rep. This is sad
