Palin disagrees with McCain's Michigan decision

Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.

Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.

(CNN) - The McCain campaign decided this week that the battleground state of Michigan may be out of reach for the Republican ticket this year - a move that's drawn criticism from one prominent dissenter: VP nominee Sarah Palin.

Earlier: McCain cedes Michigan to Obama

In an interview with Fox News Friday the Republican vice presidential candidate appeared to be disappointed with the decision and said she still wants to take a stab at winning the state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in two decades.

She also said she made her disagreement known to top campaign officials:

"I fired a quick e-mail and said, 'oh, come on! Do we have to call it there?' she said. " Todd and I would [be] happy to get to Michigan and walk through those plants [with] car manufacturers.

"We'd be so happy to get to speak with the people there in Michigan, who are hurting because the economy is hurting," she added. "Whatever we can do and whatever Todd and I can do in realizing what their challenges in that state are, as we can relate to them and connect with them and promise them that we won't let them down in the administration."

Earlier: Palin calls Obama comment 'reckless,' criticizes Couric

McCain aides told CNN Thursday Michigan increasingly appeared a long shot the Arizona senator and the campaign had decided to divert its resources there to other key battleground states. The latest CNN poll of polls in Michigan shows Obama with an 8 point lead in the state where the nation's economic woes have hit hard.

But Palin maintained Friday she and McCain still have a shot there.

"I want to get back to Michigan, and I want to try," she said.

This is what you call trying to regain credit...The past weeks were so bad that she needs to show that she can do better.

Palin's pushing her arguments. Well why not, based on her mediocre success last night in not making a complete fool of herself, she now feels entitled to step up and display her ability to run the country. Unfortunately she'll probably have to answer some questions without having a week to prepare 3 or 4 statements that she can use for every question that is asked

Wow...she did one debate and now she thinks she's all that. Sarah sweety....you sucked in the debate! The bar was on the floor, no one had any expectations of you other than to speak in a complete regurgitated sentence. You did that. It doesn't matter that you were talking about energy when the debate question was about the economy, or when you wouldn't answer a question because YOU wanted to talk about something else, or mispoke the general's name in Iraq. You evaded questions and on other questions went so far off topic that people were snickering at you. You "betcha" that you "ain't" all that! Honey....go back home. Winky-winky!

I thought she said her life is an open book, to ask her anything, and that you can even try to stump the candidate with her??? And now she's annoyed???

I guess she didn't realized how easy she was to stump.

For them to concede Michigan must mean they are really scared about taking the states they thought would be solid red. They are trying to make sure those don’t go to light red or toss up.

This is miscommunication within the McCain campaign. Stuff like this makes them sporadic and unstable. I'm not sure what her angle was in telling the press about this, but it looks like something they should of handled internally. What about if they're in office and they have differing policies, is she going to try to override his decision?
This looks like the Palin/McCain campaign. This just makes them look even worse to the public

  16. Afraid For Americans

This is not the only thing Palin disagree with McCain about. Palin is trying to take charge, just imagine what she will try to do God forbid if McCain win. We as Americans need to look past the smirk and ask ourselves will she be able to run the country if something happens to McCain ( the man is SICK). During the debate she sounded like a rehearsed puppet. The only difference in her acceptance speech and the bebate is she read off the screen what the Lobbists wrote and during the debate she memorized what they wrote. How can they say " She won" Come on Americans SHE WAS NOT KNOWLEDGABLE of the topics she answered every question with ENGERGY even when asked about her weakness it was "ENGERGY"

With BHO as president, we will have instated a cult of personality, that is a cult for Obama and his ugly wife! They are so self obsessed! Obama is a crook, a maniac, and americans who will vote for him are naive and stupid. before casting a vote many Americans will think how the White House will look like if this moron will win! A den of black vipers!

Didn't McCain said he is a fighter and he won't give up on America. When your ditsy VP pick says in public that you don't know what your doing...It's take the keys from Grandpa. The Republicans have already had one train wreck this week.

In the beginning the gods Brian, Charley and Katie created the earth and it was good. Later, after earth evolved into an overpopulated and polluted planet, there emerged a woman ruler named Sarah from out of the frozen tundra called Alaska. Sarah had been called by John the warrior hero to help him change the policies and procedures of the government that contributed to the fall from grace of the great nation America. Sarah accepted John’s call and proclaimed to his followers that she would serve the people and would not be swayed by lobbyists nor media wonks. Blasphemy decried gods Katie, Charley and Brian. We shall smite the hick from Alaska. We shall ask nonsensical questions of her and edit out everything except what she has trouble with. We shall call to question everything about her and use our vast influence to defame her. We are the gods and she is just a broad from the boonies. Amen.

Hate to tell ya Sarah (wink Wink) but there aren't anybody working at them there car plants! They've all been laid off due to offshoring and this tanked economy! But hey come on over, maybe you can help up move out of our homes that are being forclosed on! Yep we folks here in Michigan REALLY want 4 more years of the same. By then you can just cede Michigan to Canada, because all the Americans here will have to have left in order to stay alive.

Like your bridge to no where – Thanks But No Thanks!
