Palin disagrees with McCain's Michigan decision

Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.
Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.

(CNN) – The McCain campaign decided this week that the battleground state of Michigan may be out of reach for the Republican ticket this year - a move that's drawn criticism from one prominent dissenter: VP nominee Sarah Palin.

Earlier: McCain cedes Michigan to Obama

In an interview with Fox News Friday the Republican vice presidential candidate appeared to be disappointed with the decision and said she still wants to take a stab at winning the state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in two decades.

She also said she made her disagreement known to top campaign officials:

"I fired a quick e-mail and said, 'oh, come on! Do we have to call it there?' she said. " Todd and I would [be] happy to get to Michigan and walk through those plants [with] car manufacturers.

"We'd be so happy to get to speak with the people there in Michigan, who are hurting because the economy is hurting," she added. "Whatever we can do and whatever Todd and I can do in realizing what their challenges in that state are, as we can relate to them and connect with them and promise them that we won't let them down in the administration."

McCain aides told CNN Thursday Michigan increasingly appeared a long shot the Arizona senator and the campaign had decided to divert its resources there to other key battleground states. The latest CNN poll of polls in Michigan shows Obama with an 8 point lead in the state where the nation's economic woes have hit hard.

But Palin maintained Friday she and McCain still have a shot there.

"I want to get back to Michigan, and I want to try," she said.

I REALLY didn't want to vote for McCain/Palin. Until i just read this article about her views on not giving up in Michigan...'just try"...now.....not so sure......seems like she's going against the 'good ol' boy network' and that appeals to me......maybe......maybe

Goodness if they should by some freak accident win, McCain better get a taster for his food and Cindy will have to relinquish her hen pecking station to Sarah.

What the heck is she really qualified for. She was a mayor of how many people? I live on a street with more people. And while Alaska may be a huge state territorially, the population ain't so large.

How can anyone say that McCain/Palin is what the country needs right now? The choice can not be any more clear!

    Barack and Joe 2008-2016!

Palin needs to go back to Alaska! what a step back for women. She certainly doesn't represent 95 % of American Women! And take the baby home to bed!
McCain needs to release the rest of his medical records.. his cancer was more invasive than they let on.
We need some intelligence in the seat of President & that is Obama!

The people of Michigan just won't admit their state is rotting at its roots. Yet they keep voting into office democrat after democrat. When their economic woes continue to mount, who are they calling in? Oh No Obama!! Just what part of failed economic policies don't they understand? Don't they know their part of the country is called the Rust Belt? Michigan, don't just vote in "change," try something different adding some flavor. Try something REALLY different...try a republican candidate. Can it get any worse?

I know this is off topic, but what was she trying to do during the debate? When she spoke directly to Sen. Biden she used the cute little high school voice; then she immediately looked into the camera and became professional Pearlie. Is that how she will interact with her male counterparts? Very unprofessional. Go home Sarah!

What Todd should do is go to Alaska and answer the question the committee may have in reference to 'Throoper Gate", enough said!

There are alot of Michigan voters that would have been very happy to see McCain/ Palin campaign more here. A great deal of the Michigan voting population also KNOWS that Obama is not experienced or qualified enough to be president! He is a mere puppet, for the Democratic Party! Alot of money has been used to teach him what to say, how to say it, and above all...how to dupe the American voters into believing he is ready. What business has he ever ran successfully? Why in the world would we ever trust him to be President of the United States???
We have a great deal of problems in Michigan economically, thanks to our Democratic governor, Jennifer Granholm...and her terrible management of our state funds!! She has spent so much money needlessly, and just kept spending more! John Engler did a much better job managing Michigan. Seeing what has happened to Michigan since she took office, just proves why we don't need an inexperienced Democrat in the oval office!!!! Hillary, we knew... was qualified to run for office. Obama should have waited until he was more qualified to take on a position of this magnitude, (especially since our economy is in such a turmoil). We need an experienced leader, who is tough enough to stand on his own two feet, face our nations problems, and do what is right for the American people. I am sorry Barack Obama...but your just not ready to be our President!!!

She thinks she has mroe power/influence than she actually does. After last night's debate, I have come to the conclusion that the McCain/Palin ticket is not what the country needs. Obama/Biden ticket has me leaning their way, but I'm still not so sure. But I def. know I'm not voting for McCain/Palin!!

haha...the gloves are coming off, and we'll see Palin for who she really is.
Independents who are considering voting for McCain b/c of his bipartisan ability in getting both sides to work together for the better of this country, or for his foreign experience....I say take a moment to look at who else you'll be electing along with him.

Do you really believe that the country needs someone like Palin at this time in history when we are dealing with 2 wars, economic crisis, negative image in the world about us, etc. She is not capable of deductive reasoning, or even for that matter listening what is being asked of her. None of replies are relevant to the questions being asked. Unless someone else writes down for her what she needs to say, she is incapable of thinking on her own regarding any issues.

Do you really want to set the bar so low for the next VP or even possible the next president of this great country. We deserve better than what McCain/Palin is promising.

I am determine to work like a dog this entire month. The country needs me and this election is so worth it.

Barack is far better than McCain just based on the fact that he's telling us the truth. McCain doesn't deserve to lead this great country, or anyone else who would hoodwink Americans. Just tell the truth and let us decide if you are the person for the job.

When McCain made his medical records available for a certain amount of time, I knew he was not an honest man. What is he hiding? The same man who cheated on his first wife, will cheat on us.

LET'S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK AMERICA. YES WE CAN.

Who is really running for VP or do we get two for one. This is a bit creepy to me...may make me vote the other way.

Just because she had an okay night, doesn't mean that she should be back in public again to speak! Maybe she hasn't heard of McWar's temper tantrums!!! That's the biggest reason he should not be let lose in the White House.
