Palin disagrees with McCain's Michigan decision

Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.
Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.

(CNN) – The McCain campaign decided this week that the battleground state of Michigan may be out of reach for the Republican ticket this year - a move that's drawn criticism from one prominent dissenter: VP nominee Sarah Palin.

Earlier: McCain cedes Michigan to Obama

In an interview with Fox News Friday the Republican vice presidential candidate appeared to be disappointed with the decision and said she still wants to take a stab at winning the state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in two decades.

She also said she made her disagreement known to top campaign officials:

"I fired a quick e-mail and said, 'oh, come on! Do we have to call it there?' she said. " Todd and I would [be] happy to get to Michigan and walk through those plants [with] car manufacturers.

"We'd be so happy to get to speak with the people there in Michigan, who are hurting because the economy is hurting," she added. "Whatever we can do and whatever Todd and I can do in realizing what their challenges in that state are, as we can relate to them and connect with them and promise them that we won't let them down in the administration."

Earlier: Palin calls Obama comment 'reckless,' criticizes Couric

McCain aides told CNN Thursday Michigan increasingly appeared a long shot the Arizona senator and the campaign had decided to divert its resources there to other key battleground states. The latest CNN poll of polls in Michigan shows Obama with an 8 point lead in the state where the nation's economic woes have hit hard.

But Palin maintained Friday she and McCain still have a shot there.

"I want to get back to Michigan, and I want to try," she said.

It amuses me how fearful the Dems are of Gov Palin. There are reports of Dems have nervous breakdowns and needing therapy just at the mention of her name. One Democrat woman almost through herself out a high rise window at hearing her name.

The fear amongst the elitist Dems with all their money and self professed righteousness is something to see.

Perhaps their Messiah Obama really is not their Savior after all.......

OH MY!! Does she think after one night of big/ fast/usless talk in that debate she can now go out and finish off the Obama / Biden camp all by her and dudes selves? This woman is truely delusional and needs to keep in mind she is no where near Alaska where her big/fast talk (wink, wink) took her out of the PTA and into the BIG TIME POLITICS OF WASILLA. Those folks in Michigan will eat her and dude for breakfast.

Please dont waste your time here in Michigan. Trust me it would be a waste of her time.

Plus we are going to puke if we hear Maverick one more time.

All this lady needed during the debate was some pom poms and and a pony tail because she is only a cheerleader.

  7. AWWWW!!

America still feels she is not ready to be VP and definately not President, regardless of how the republicans want to spin last nights debate. She could have blown Joe out of the water and still she wouldn't be qualified.

America lets not wait until Nov 5th to find out about McCain and Palin.

It seems that the reason Mrs. Palin is so upset about not getting asked enough questions on the "issues" is because those are the only questions she has rehearsed for. Whether being interviewed or during the debate, she sounds as though she's repeating what she has been coached to say. In the event she had to take over the Presidency, who would be in charge? It doesn't seem as though she is capable of leading the country herself.

guess the "First Dude" has to have a job to support his wife... as the same as Leiberman has had to support McCain from making too many gaffs and misstatements.

I find it refreshing that the GOP has decided to allow a whole family to run for office...

Gosh darn it doncha know, there ya go agin, givin up on a state. Me n Todd will go there by gosh by golly n talk sum cents inta those folks.

Does she have to take Todd with her everywhere she goes? I thought she was this tough, independent woman?

She will be the answer to a trivia question 20 years from now, a bizarre bit of history. After the presidential election I doubt if she'll even win a re-election as the govenor of Alaska.

Wait, McCain, the top of the ticket, gets booed and endures chants of "Obama 08!" at an auto plant and she thinks she'll fare better?

Is she going to wink them into line?

Sarah Palin (aka Kelly Bundy) is so dense that she does not even know that her side is leaving Michigan, because they know that they will not win the State. On election night she will have no clue that her side actually lost, until the maintenance crew is actually cleaning up the hall, even though her and McCain would have given their concession speech several hours earlier.

She and Todd want to try to win there? Just who is her running mate? Questions have been raised already about Todd Palin's role in the Governor's Alaskan administration. Is John McCain now the #2 on the ticket?

Strikes me, after a disastrous week, which was saved in great part by the debate format which had no follow up questions and Joe Biden with one hand tied behind his back, that the Governor's confidence has been regained to the point of hubris.

I'm so glad to see this! It's about time that America gets to see Palin in action and the shadow VP. He attends her meetings in Alaska, why shouldn't he attend them as she campaigns, if she goes to DC?

Does anyone think that Hillary would have Bill trail her around Michigan? Why doesn't Palin send Todd off to campaign in FL all by himself?
