(CNN) – The McCain campaign decided this week that the battleground state of Michigan may be out of reach for the Republican ticket this year - a move that's drawn criticism from one prominent dissenter: VP nominee Sarah Palin.

In an interview with Fox News Friday the Republican vice presidential candidate appeared to be disappointed with the decision and said she still wants to take a stab at winning the state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in two decades.
She also said she made her disagreement known to top campaign officials:
"I fired a quick e-mail and said, 'oh, come on! Do we have to call it there?' she said. " Todd and I would [be] happy to get to Michigan and walk through those plants [with] car manufacturers.
"We'd be so happy to get to speak with the people there in Michigan, who are hurting because the economy is hurting," she added. "Whatever we can do and whatever Todd and I can do in realizing what their challenges in that state are, as we can relate to them and connect with them and promise them that we won't let them down in the administration."

McCain aides told CNN Thursday Michigan increasingly appeared a long shot the Arizona senator and the campaign had decided to divert its resources there to other key battleground states. The latest CNN poll of polls in Michigan shows Obama with an 8 point lead in the state where the nation's economic woes have hit hard.

But Palin maintained Friday she and McCain still have a shot there.
"I want to get back to Michigan, and I want to try," she said.

This is quintessential Palin. Her and her Alaska co-governor (husband Todd) think that they walk on water. The woman is clueless! She has managed to incite anger and division among Alaskans and now the remainder of Americans. The sooner she blows this election for McCain, the sooner she will return to Alaska to face the music for her own misdeeds!
I am sick to my stomach that we are even considering that Sarah Palin should have a shot at the Vice Presidency and maybe even the Presidency. Our country is facing problems in magnitudes never encountered before in our history and we may never be the same. We need real leadership, smart people who make informed decisions, based on facts from quality advisors who's only mission is to do what is best for the American people. Period.
Do Americans really believe that John McCain's choices will meet that end?
The economy is in a frightening mess;
The future of Medicare and Social Security are uncertain;
Our country is fighting two wars and we could easily be adding a few more threatening nations to the mix;
Health Care is becoming out of reach for more and more people every day;
Jobs are disappearing and we don't know if they are ever coming back;
Prices are soaring for the basic staples every American needs – food, gas, utilities and just about everything we need to exist.
The list goes on and on.
Life is getting harder and harder and there is less joy – something that everyone deserves in their lives. Without joy, why are we doing all of this anyway?
We need leaders who can think for themselves, surround themselves with the top minds in our nation, and solve problems – not someone who can cram talking points into their head, and just because they didn't fall on their face, run away with over-inflated confidence that they can do a job that they clearly cannot handle.
I'm begging Americans to come together and really make the correct decision on November 4th.

Palin did better last night than her previous performances. I would just love to know whether Sarah Palin realizes that there is a group of voters out there where families don't hold a portfolio large enough to even take a $20k loss??
I am so very to say this but she is an idiot! It became clearer after her debate performance last night. I've seen better performances in spelling bee contests! Honest to God, I did! This is a bad joke and somebody wake me up please. So sad and very scary too.

I believe that Sarah should go to Michigan and talk to voters.She is well liked by people and comes across as one of us. I hate to tell you liberals but Sarah is a good person.
