Palin disagrees with McCain's Michigan decision

Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.

Palin wants to keep trying in Michigan.

(CNN) - The McCain campaign decided this week that the battleground state of Michigan may be out of reach for the Republican ticket this year - a move that's drawn criticism from one prominent dissenter: VP nominee Sarah Palin.

Earlier: McCain cedes Michigan to Obama

In an interview with Fox News Friday the Republican vice presidential candidate appeared to be disappointed with the decision and said she still wants to take a stab at winning the state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in two decades.

She also said she made her disagreement known to top campaign officials:

"I fired a quick e-mail and said, 'oh, come on! Do we have to call it there?' she said. " Todd and I would [be] happy to get to Michigan and walk through those plants [with] car manufacturers.

"We'd be so happy to get to speak with the people there in Michigan, who are hurting because the economy is hurting," she added. "Whatever we can do and whatever Todd and I can do in realizing what their challenges in that state are, as we can relate to them and connect with them and promise them that we won't let them down in the administration."

McCain aides told CNN Thursday Michigan increasingly appeared a long shot the Arizona senator and the campaign had decided to divert its resources there to other key battleground states. The latest CNN poll of polls in Michigan shows Obama with an 8 point lead in the state where the nation's economic woes have hit hard.

But Palin maintained Friday she and McCain still have a shot there.

"I want to get back to Michigan, and I want to try," she said.

she's quite cocky for simple exceeding expectations, which were so low that it was almost impossible not to do.

Palin and the First Dude would not be welcome in those hurting towns. The Party of Wall Street has turned our heartland into a wasteland.

Don't look for a warm welcome in Ohio, either.

    And Oregon?

Forget it, lady. Just keep moving.

WTH HELL SHE MEAN "TODD AND I?" Oh yeah, they are reporting he sits in on all the meetings she hold in the governor's office. Tell her she is in a race where people think with their brains, we use those here in the connected states.

Why don't you and Todd go back to Alaska and answer Troopergate questions Miss Eager Beaver. Better get that wrapped up while the old man is footing the legal bills, looks like you're running out of $$$$ with a month left.

So Ms. Whalin is shooting off her spout again? Now, this is how stupid they think we are. He realizes now he has made ANOTHER mistake and she is pretending she is against his decision. He will now announce he is going back into Michigan because she wants it. And you want me to vote for this guy? This duo is so through. Thank God they will NO LONGER cease to exist in the political mainstream in one month.

She shows zero diplomatic ability. I can imagine what it would be like to "give a big shout out" to one of the foreign heads of state she will be working with. Or maybe she will be snarky and then wink at Iran's leader and he will bend. She is really not ready to be VP let alone right next to the Presidency. "Aw shucks".

Palin is so new, she thinks everything is easy. She does not realisze that the repubs have been running the show for 8 years and America knows only hard time except the top 5% supper rich.

The repubs are doomed this year.

I agree with Jane. They SHOULD continue to waste precious resources in Michigan, as Palin argues . . .

John McCain's has said he will never surrender and finally he has flown the white flag of surrender. such a pity, I thought John was a fighter. He has finally realized how effective running a dishonorable campaign is. If he could not resonate on the economy in Michigan, what makes him think that it will work in Pennsylvania or Ohio. John, you did your best, shameful, but your best, now its time to head back to house #4 and feed your dog "ralph."
