(CNN) – The McCain campaign decided this week that the battleground state of Michigan may be out of reach for the Republican ticket this year - a move that's drawn criticism from one prominent dissenter: VP nominee Sarah Palin.
Earlier: McCain cedes Michigan to Obama
In an interview with Fox News Friday the Republican vice presidential candidate appeared to be disappointed with the decision and said she still wants to take a stab at winning the state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in two decades.
She also said she made her disagreement known to top campaign officials:
"I fired a quick e-mail and said, 'oh, come on! Do we have to call it there?' she said. " Todd and I would [be] happy to get to Michigan and walk through those plants [with] car manufacturers.
"We'd be so happy to get to speak with the people there in Michigan, who are hurting because the economy is hurting," she added. "Whatever we can do and whatever Todd and I can do in realizing what their challenges in that state are, as we can relate to them and connect with them and promise them that we won't let them down in the administration."

McCain aides told CNN Thursday Michigan increasingly appeared a long shot the Arizona senator and the campaign had decided to divert its resources there to other key battleground states. The latest CNN poll of polls in Michigan shows Obama with an 8 point lead in the state where the nation's economic woes have hit hard.

But Palin maintained Friday she and McCain still have a shot there.
"I want to get back to Michigan, and I want to try," she said.

I see it now...
Tod & Sarah's Excellent Adventure.
Gotta give her credit. She has more balls than McCain.
Too bad she hasn't learned when to shut her mouth and quit sounding like a shrill lunatic.
It's almost over Governor Palin. Stop the sulking already. Just listen to McCain. You did well in the V.P. debate, but YOU didn't win. The Democrats will take back the White House and then you can go back home and do your job as Governor. You are not qualified to be V.P.
Obama/Biden 08!!!!!!!!!!!!
No sense in argueing who will be best as President/Vice President. I do know national health care will be like it is in other socialist or 3d world countries-is that what you want? You will be in long lines, and may never get that operation that your doc who you waited months to see said you needed. You're best care will be at a local drug store-is that what you want? People with CASH will get the best health care, then what? You think doctors won't take cash? It's just another idea from a society of people who truly think of you as the "little people." There are many other ways to improve healthcare in this country-I'm betting on Palin as the one to clean up more than just one mess we're in.
She is a quick study and I believe she will listen to the majority voice in this country, not the minority, not the corporations. McCain has been in a long time and has a track record just like Biden, except McCains voting history is more pleasing-Biden is a salesman-has he told you he writes off his expense to travel from his "nice" home in DE to DC-how many Americans sitting in hot traffic spending fuel from their apartments can do that? I will continue to listen, but I will also continue to "research" their habits and votes.
Is this the next McCain stunt? "Sarah saves Michigan." We have all been wondering what his next move will be. My thinking just shows how little I trust this ticket.
Why is Gov Palin refering to "Todd" as someone who can make a difference in Mich? "Whatever Todd and I can do..." "Todd and I would be happy to get to MICH"......strange.......
And enough already with the entire family hitting the stage at EVERY event!
Still undecided....feel strongly about McCain....but not sure I can vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.......
I see a break down in McCain/Palin camp I guess who is control and it is not Mc Cain Its Rove who told Mc Cain to pick her and Palin and Todd so heres the down ward fall of a polictical ticket that was falling from the begining and check the jack.
Go Big O: Obama for President
veterans for Obama 08
this is the best reality show on tv!! trust me
Palin the lier.. mediocrity seems to thrive in my "past" party. Culture war is what they love.. bomb bomb bomb countries is called patriotism. What a disgrace to the party of Lincoln. Sad day for America to see a VP candidate with such low IQ and knowledge and Rep spin masters call it "connecting with the people" and "joe six pack" I want intellects to be P and VP not some Joe 6 pack drunkards.
Mrs Palin continues to refer to "Todd and I" in her statements about her role as VP and within the McCain / Palin campaign and potential admnistration...is Todd Palin (god forbid) now up for the role of "SHADOW VP"? "Oh"...give us a break "there" golly gosh and come out and say what is really going on.
Palin is about Palin, she did nothing to defend McCain last night , and actually disagreed with his position on Global Warming. She is only looking to jumpstart her 2012 campaign for president..lord help us all.
Sarah Palin wants to feel the pain of he people of Michigan. She certainly isn't feeling pain, having a net worth of 900,000 – 1.2 million. Yes, she sure is Ms. Main Street. It's just another case of deception by the McCain campaign. The deception is that she's trying to come across as just an ordinary citizen.
Like the hardened pros that are running McCain's camp care what Palin the Poser thinks. She's starting to believe her own hype... her ego is spiraling out of control.
I have such back vibes about Palin...and Todd???????what is wrong with those people that think she so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!She is scary as hell.
One more sign she has no clue about politics outside of an igloo or bear cave. She was way better than anyone expected in the debate. If you count rote answers of talking points and no significant programs to help the economy or health care. And if you like mugging at the camera like a slapstick game show host.
Couldn't you just see her impressing the Arab Leaders at a Middle East summit by winking at the camera and making little faces whilee they spoke. "You betcha"
This is just a ploy to make her look indpended after quoting McSame all last night. It was like all I heard from her was what we see on his commercials.
IT'S OBVIOUS SHE'S CLUELESS!
AFTER FUMBLING AND BUMBLING THROUGH A SCRITED DEBATE; NOW SHE THINKS SHE GOT SOME SENSE BUT SHE NEVER KNEW WHAT'S GOING IN McSAME CAMPAIGN!
GRANDPA MsSAME ALREADY GOT THE SHOT AND PAIN-LIN JUST FOLLOW LIKE A DOG IN A LEACH!
ONLY IN AMERICA WILL SOMEONE READ CUE CARDS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ON ECONOMY & FOREIGN POLICY IN VICE-PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE!
NO WONDER OUR EDUCATIONAL STANDARD IS FALLING.....SARAH PAIN-LIN IS A POSTER CHILD FOR EVERYTHING THAT'S WRONG WITH OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM!
IT'S NOT A SURPRISE SHE GOT A COLLEGE DEGREE BY ATTENDING SIX COLLEGES....SIX AMERICA, SIX.
WAKE UP FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THIS TIME!!!!!
GEORGE BUSH IS UNINTELLIGIBLE ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bless her sweet little heart. I wonder if she really learned to speak like that or is that something she picked up in the past few months. Because gosh darn it, people like me.
PALIN: Your plan is a white flag of surrender in Iraq and that is not what our troops need to hear today, that's for sure. And it's not what our nation needs to be able to count on.
Yet the McCain/Palin camp is surrendering in Michigan with a big white flag. Where's that maverick spirit now? McCain wants to do one thing and Palin wants to do another. She has no idea what McCain policies are. Now she wants to be an expert in the campaign.
I have a good feeling they will be surrendering more battlegroud states very soon.
I can't wait to see SNL and Letterman.
I have such bad vibes about Palin...and Todd????????????????What is wrong with people that think she is so great!!!She is scary as hell!!!!!!!!!!!
MCCAIN: SARAH! COVER OUR RETREAT OUT OF MICHIGAN
LOL
Its a time ploy!
Sarah, it isn't your decision to make. You are the sidekick, not the main attraction.
You might want to remember that.
So take your gimicky hick self complete with the flirtatious winking and gosh darn it alls and go back to Alaska.
You are not ready for prime time.
Palin is making what she thinks is the best decision for the Palin/McCain ticket....
Todd and I?? Jeez. I thought Todd was her husband not her ticket-leader.
Go home and take a nap, both of you.
I think the debate has now gone to her head.
As Todd Palin is known as the the shadow governor in Alaska, this can't be good.
