In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

Gov Palin, send your kids to school. Stop being selfish. Give them basic edtuaction so that their generation will be better than yours and Todd. Stop lying about Obama. Election will be over but your conscience will leave with you for ever. Do not sell your soul to the devil, see why people that speak in tongues need be careful?

Char…WOW…I love the way you put it. Your words are SOOOOOO true!

Trevor P   October 4th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

This will be the stupidest thing I will see on the internet today.

It appears that the republicans are going to resort to scare tactics this time as well.

Linda Duran   October 4th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

How sad that McCain is resorting to such shameful tactics. But I guess he feels he has no other choice since he really has so little to offer the American people.

I am disappointed, but feel that the American people will not fall for this slime. Not this time.

Mary, Ohio   October 4th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

The only people who believe Palin's garbage mouth are the people who are voting McCain/Palin, anyway. Go back to Alaska, Palin. Take your kids back with you so they can get back in school, and take that poor baby and get him started with interventions instead of having your kids lug him around the country. You are a poor example of everything that you say that you stand for.

What about McCain and Keating 5?????????

Will   October 4th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

The McCain/Palin campaign has been built entirely on distraction and lies instead of substance and integrity. Thank God we can show them how ridiculous they are in 30 days.

cindy   October 4th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

I didn't think she could sink much lower than her comment to Joe Biden about a "place in heaven for his wife" but apparently she can.
The MCCain campaign is now at the bottom of the barrel….John McCain included!

The scary thing is not what McCain and Palin are resorting to now. It is that people actually believe this garbage they are spewing.

Desperate & Pathetic!!

McCain - once a hero, now an old, nasty, shameful little man!

LJ   October 4th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

John McCain says honor is so important to him yet he continues to condone dishonorable behavior from within his own campaign.

It appears all the McCain-Palin ticket has to offer this country is bitterness and lies. Is he that desperate to win? I honestly thought McCain was a good man and have slowly come to realize that he is either putting up a false face or - like Bush - surrounds himself with some bad folks and does nothing to set high standards for them.

How can we believe this man if he becomes our President? We currently have an administration that is known to lie….why would we want another? Does McCain really have that much contempt for his Fellow Americans to think we can be fooled by this crap?

Major Dan   October 4th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

No one hear know if these are lies are not. Let's have the rumors checked out! Same with Trooper Gate. Everyone has their opinions and that is all that they are. NON-factual opinions. Trooper Gate is being investigated and I think we Americans need to know the truth before we put anyone in office.

mal   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Although Sen. Obama and the Times have made it perfectly clear that he did not "pal around" with terrorists, McCain and Palin still keep repeating this misleading lie. It insults their own followers' intelligence. Can they just say any ridiculous thing and their followers just accept it as truth? Purposely misleading the public for political gain seems like Me-First-Country-Secound politics. Yet McCain keeps saying that he's gonna bring 'change' to Washington and Wallstreet.
Who believes it? He and Palin are so plastic and stereotypical of the same disinginuousness of the past 8 years. For them to have the audacity to use the term 'change' is disturbing.

Chris in CA   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Former Republican in Texas   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Uh wait, wasn't it the McCain group who advocated a "clean" campaign with no negativity??? Wasn't it McCain who whined earlier that the Obama campaign was saying "negative" things about him & that he didn't want this to be a negative campaign.

Come on Palin, are you going to take the Karl Rove & Newt Gingrinch route now and go negative and try to just tear down your opponent–maybe because you have nothing good or substative to say about yourself???

Alex   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

If what's going on in wall street is not proof enough to Sarah Palin that this country is far from perfect and ruled by interest groups and greed, then I don't know what is. Being in the same room with and bumping into someone in your neighborhood is not enough to justify the "support of terrorism" accusations she is making. This woman has nothing to say.

Republicans continue attacks that have not worked and won't work. Obama's dream for America is too great for it to continue to fail with their stupidity. We are facing a Recession and all they care to do is destroy an individual that wants to bring positive change to our country and the world.

I am a female first time voter at age 44 years, who has seen my country go down the drain because of the Bush Mistakes that we are all now forced to pay for so dearly. We have had 2 great democratic candidates run for President against him (Al Gore and John Kerry) and have been defeated by republicans using these same attacks. No more! Americans are standing up and shouting loud and clear to the republicans this year.

That's why Obama and Biden are inspiring us to rise above our past mistakes and take the higher ground where we belong. We will win this election to bring back our country, to the place where our forefathers intended. These great leaders fought for it to become the greatest nation in the world.

In this election independents, republicans and democrats will fight to defend our country and be viewed again as the great nation that we are.

I am a proud American who does not wear a flag pin, but carries it in my heart.

Joe Six-Pack   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Hey, I just heard there's a new, REALLY THIN book soon to be released, It's entitled: "The Depth, Knowledge, and Integrity Of Sarah Palin, And Her Vision For America."

Becky   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

You people have all been drinking Bam Bam's kool aid again. You think he's the Messiah and don't even bother to look at the truth! The fact that he was 8 years old at the time of the bombings is irrelevant! Bill Ayers is not even sorry for the terrorism, and has even said that he wished he had done more! Obama funded Ayer's far left education program that included changing the Pledge of Allegiance for young children! So go ahead and believe that Bam Bam is the next coming of Christ if you like, but you have nothing to say when the country gets taken over with higher taxes and a left wing lunatic agenda like he is proposing. Get a life.

jackiebrown   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Palin, you need to zip it and throw that trash talk away. I guarantee the McCain-Palin will get this back. Let us not forget Palin that your husband, Todd Palin wants to secede from the United States and on your interview in St. Louis after the chatter stuff you called "debate" you were asked why was your campaign pulling out of Michigan and you said that they needed to send Todd and you (Sarah Palin) to campaign…whats up with that? Oh, by the way you got a situation yourself in Alaska and how much did you hear about John McCain when you were in the second grade? Did you hear about the S&L involving McCain?

Concerned Canadain   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Please media, do your job. Is it so important that your side win the election that you would sell your souls?
Put your country ahead of your desire for power and investigate and expose Obama. Nobody wins if Obama and his cabal seize the reins of power.

Paisley   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

McCain and Palin are the mavericks that are boasting their uncanny ability to bring both parties together and promote respect and bipartisanship. They are already demonstrating this ability by name calling and making false accusations. This campaign is only the honeymoon. God help America if they are actually elected.

OBAMA/BIDEN 2008

Madrep   October 4th, 2008 6:02 pm ET

It's about time the attacks start. Biden didn't hold back! Where exactly is Husseins money from over seas coming from? Anybody bothering to ask? Let's see, if you mix yellow and blue, you get green, not blue, right! Those 150K voters were probably about 95% blue. I am amazed at this country. You wanted change in 2006 so a democratic Congress came to power. Since, gas went from 2.19/gal to over 4.00/gal. Housing fell through the floor, cost of living, lost jobs, etc. Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it. No way Obama. Joe Biden would be a better candidate.

Geoffrey   October 4th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Perhaps if Governor Palin was a more skilled reader she would have understood the whole NYT story instead of just a point or two that she could use in at attack. Apparently the "pit bull" is emerging. Can somebody find her a tube of lipstick?

Matt   October 4th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

This shows how desperate the McCain/Palin campaign is for attention. This is fear mongering and swift boating at its worst. This is an absolute disgrace to the American political process. I hope the American people pull their heads out of their butts and have the intelligence to realize that this is not true. Palin just needs to go back to Alaska and stop bothering the rest of us here in the lower 48. As far as Im concerned she can go play with the polar bears and go read all of those magazines she supposedly reads..this is just simply ridiculous!

ALLAN USA   October 4th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Palin is a power hungry deceitful person-she was "upset" when McCain pulled out of Michigan and is desperate to win the white house. I am voting for Obama but if I were Republican, I would be very upset at McCain's pick for VP. She is the LEAST qualified and there were others so much better: Condi, Powell……

Stan in Oregon   October 4th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Can't we all pitch in and get Caribou Barbie a bus ticket back to the north country? But then I guess G'pa McBush would get a bit lonely and we don't want that to happen. Anyway, it is sad when we get to this level… Whatever happened to telling us how you are going to fix the problems of our country, telling us what you stand for, etc.

Allison   October 4th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Wow. A new low for the McCain Palin campaign. The aide who came up with this attack should be fired. It's disgraceful to think that a Senator and a Governor would go along with such a baseless and dangerous attack is a disgrace to the offices they hold. Particularly Palin's agreement to spout such garbage shows a lack of character unbefiting the offices she holds and seeks. Is this just an attempt to proves that she reads the New York Times? Clearly if she does read it she cannot comprehend that her statement grossly distorts the Times article. Most likely she is parroting what some speech writer told her to say and once again not showing that she can digest and understand the material enough to know that this is just plain wrong.

McCain has lost all credibility with me. It is not just that he has proven that he is not a man of "honor", but that he has proven that he is a man who is easily corrupted by power. He is letting us know that he will rob the American people of the "hope" for our future just to win. He owes Obama an apology and he should step down for the sake of the nation. As for Palin, this is just another demonstration of her lack of understanding, and of her status as a "puppet" for McCain. Let's remove McCain before he hurts America any more, and cut her strings completely. Accountability should start now.

Fed Up   October 4th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

The American people are more interested in the economy, the environment, health care and the Iraq war than listening to more of the politics of fear and smear. I've spent a summer in Alaska, there are GREAT people there, please don't hold Sarah Palin against the Alaskan people. She should be ashamed to show her face in public with some of the things coming out of her mouth. Is she really that unintelligent to say some of the things she does, or just that immoral?

Jeff in DC   October 4th, 2008 6:00 pm ET

McCain is a true American hero. Shame on him for besmirching his own reputation as a national icon and a great statesman. Not only will he lose with this strategy, but he will never reclaim his former honor in the eyes of many Americans with this disgraceful attack. For a man of his caliber, this act is a disservice to all Americans and to himself.

Senator McCain: you're going to lose this election. This is not the worst thing that can happen to you, so I advise you to do so gracefully. I'm not voting for you, but I still want to be able to respect you when this election is over.

Mark   October 4th, 2008 6:00 pm ET

After reading enough to make me sick, you know what is really sad, to listen to you McCain Bush Palin haters just bash away. Its not sad to hear what you write, it is sad to know that we live in the "Divided States of America" regardless of what you all say, it is a close race, so that means the country is divided! Do you really think Obama will ever convince the other half of Americans to join him? Can anyone remember when the president had a true majority, and not just a 50/50 or 60/40 split?

"This is not a man who sees America as you and I do…" You are right, Sarah, Obama is a man who sees America as a country of voters who see through your pandering, lies, and winking. He is a man who offers us hope for change from the horrors of this administration…you offer us nothing but more of the same. You give me nightmares!

Anna, VA   October 4th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Palin doesn't even know Obama, let alone who he's pals with. I suggest she try to learn more about the U.S. history, the U. S. economy, and foreign policy instead of trying to hit Obama w/ stuff she has no clue on. Also (her favorite word), she needs to be more concerned w/ her own Federal investigation trial, which she has refused to cooperate w/, only after she agreed to do so before being selected. Finally, she needs to look at her own grandpa, McShame, and his involvement w/ the SNL crisis.

terry maineiac   October 4th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Sara Palin by her own admission meets regularly with communists whenever Putin enters US airspace. She is a communist sympathizser and refuses to report any of her clandestine meetings.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our– our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia–

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We– we do– it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is– from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to– to our state.

She is working to end the american way of life and is working towards harboring and providing safe haven to true believers.

In June, Palin addressed graduates of a youth ministry program at that church, telling them, “It was so cool growin’ up in this church and gettin’ saved here.”

CNN’s Jessica Yellin looked into the church’s beliefs and reports that it practices speaking in tongues and also “teaches that Alaska will be a shelter at the end of the world.”

A video produced by the church proclaims with apocalyptic imagery that “God has a destiny for the state of Alaska!” and in another clip someone from the church affirms, “I believe that Alaska’s one of the refuge states.”

Yellin acknowledged that “whether Palin shares these beliefs is unclear” but noted that “during her June visit, she described the Iraq War and a natural gas pipeline she is trying to build as part of God’s plan.”

Too little too late hockey mom. You've got real crisis to take care of, so lay off the contrived attacks.

DAStubbs   October 4th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

OK, so let’s take the gloves off.

John McCain is a traitor. He is a traitor to the American people and he is a traitor to the honor of all men and women who serve in our military. John McCain has been a traitor since the day he wrote these words:

“I am a black criminal and I have performed the deeds of an air pirate. I almost died and the Vietnamese people saved my life, thanks to the doctors.”

Those are the facts. Not ALL of the facts, of course, but they are the indisputable the facts I choose to use to show you that McCain is a traitor to the American people and our way of life.

This doesn’t feel right, does it? So why do we let Gov Palin get away with saying things like “Obama pals around with terrorists”? I hope this election will prove once and for all that attack politics is the act of desperation that dooms a political campaign.

This is what Steve Schmidt said about the NY Times on Sept. 22nd, "Whatever The New York Times once was, it is today not by any standard a journalistic organization."

So Palin disagrees with the campaign's chief stategist? Or perhaps they didn't fill her in on this one just like they didn't tell her about the campaign pulling out of Michigan?

Not this time! Not this year. We know they are desperate. The attacks will come, but this time, we will not be fooled.

Tim   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Ditto! All please vote to keep our country safe from Palin!!!!!!

Ethan   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Fear much?

She tried it at the Biden debate (fear this, fear that) and Biden was twice as successful in winning new voters and undecideds. Go ahead and play your fear games, lady. You and McLoser are just digging your own political graves.

Tupac   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

There they go again… Swiftboating!!

Do Republicans have anything to offer to this nation besides personal attacks? What's next Obama's not like one of us because he's a "half-breed Muslim" like the senior citizen in FL put up in his front yard.

Diane   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

I'm so glad the McCain campaign is not playing dirty politics. McCain said he would run a clean campaign and not stoop to low tricks. ….oh, that was before he picked Palin as a running mate.
Please please America: please vote for Obama- we need someone in office that is intelligent, thoughtful, listens and speaks well, respected globally, and acts only after learning all the facts first.
Palin's speeches show she lacks a grasp of the issues, and she resorts to dirty politics because she can't speak constructively on the issues.

jay   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

We already know that Governor Palin!!! But we already made up our minds. Sorry!
Obama was 8 Years and have no personally relationship with Ayers even today…… it's all professional relationship, if any.

Farrell, Houston, Tx   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

JUST WHAT OUR COUNTRY NEEDS IS THIS KIND OF DIVISIVE UNAMERICAN COMMENTS COMING FROM PURE IGNORANCE. PALIN NOT ONLY HAS ATTACKED OBAMA BUT HAS ATTACKED MANY AMERICANS WHO SUPPORT OBAMA. PALIN NOR MCCAIN IS FIT FOR LEADERSHIP OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY.

Miles   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

1. Obama barely knows the guy, and they are certainly not "pals."

2. Obama was a little eight year old kid when Ayers was doing his thing.

3. If Ayers is such a terrorist, then why doesn't Bush lock him up? Huh? If anyone off the street could ostensibly call Ayers up and go to McDonald's for a milkshake with the guy, then Homeland Security obviously doesn't consider him a terrorist.

4. Sarah Palin is a radical fundamentalist idiot of the same ilk as the radicals in other countries who stoke hatred to keep themselves in power (you know, the people we call terrorists). God save us all if these nutjobs win the election.

reality   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

try 2:

The McCain campaign should be ashamed of themselves. This after he promised a dignified campaign void of such personal attacks.

This is another reason people should not vote for McCain. He has no morals anymore. He'll sink to any level to win. We don't want any leader with such low moral standards.

Shame on Sara Palin!!.. Shame on McCain. Shame on the people who vote for them !!

Jeanie   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Desperate times call for desperate measures. It is obvious that John McCain is extremely desperate at this point in his campaign. To see him sink to this level of desperation saddens me. I used to have a great deal of respect for him, but his lack of integrity in this presidential campaign has tremendously eroded that respect. Regarding Sarah Palin, I still cannot believe that McCain chose her to be his running mate. She is uninformed, undereducated, and ill-prepared. Her credibility factor is almost nonexistent, and she simply cannot be taken seriously. She is not even close to being in the same league as Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Her nonsensical comments only strengthen Obama's chances for becoming our next president. Go Obama and Biden!!!!

Steve   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

The MCain/Palin ticket is now, as announced earlier today, engaging in desperate tactics. The citizens of our country should not tolerate such tactics. Hopefully this campaign tactic will rally the troops even more against this dishonorable and pathetic ticket. Go Obama and Biden.

Obama   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

CNN -Nazi party!

Out of all these comments only 1 moron. Now THAT'S encouraging! We knew it was coming, just surprised it took so long. The Republican party is pathetic. It's not going to work this time though, sleaze bags. Fool us once, your fault. Won't get fooled again. OBAMA/BIDEN '08!!!

Aris Condrea   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Finaly we start to hear on news what we knew about Obama. Why took so long?

Clark in Austin   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Honestly….all you pro McCain/Palin people… how can you take this ticket seriously. Do you live in the lies that Obama is a Muslim or just because he's black. In a time when so much is at stake, you want to listen to a woman who thinks an 8 year old …. If you look at her own religious affiliations, her own actions and beliefs…. we'd all rather you just stayed home and let the people who at least understand what's at stake here do the voting.

W Virginia   October 4th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

All I can say is "THANK YOU" Char, you hit the nail on the head.

julie in fl   October 4th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Palin and McCain are pathetic. This pathetic attempt of taking Obama down is childish and is not helping my America economy problems! It don't help me at the gas pump! no substance! McCain has switched his stance on nearly every position for the betterment of his campaign. Palin is not like me and I don't find her smart….she is just someone that can remember to read one liners.

Nina   October 4th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

McCain and Palin are pitful, they are going to lose this race. We the american people know you are telling lies, because you can not win this race. So they come out with information that was already fact checked. What a dummy (Palin). She needs to re-educate herself. I have no respect for her, I thought she had it going on but she is really stupid. Go back to college and get a real degree.

candace   October 4th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Obama isn't responsible for what others say. If people are responsible for other people behavior then McCain is responsible for the actions that Bush. Obama is good for the country and the reason why people refuse to see it is because he is BLACK that is the reason. People are afraid that a black man can build back this country better than any white man. Palin lacks the experience, but I guess no one says that because she is white instead they say she is one of them. And you call Obama Racist.

I guess as long as we can keep calling everything the Republicans say "racism" we might be able to scare them into silence.

SeattleVoter   October 4th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Sarah Palin has proven beyond a shadow of any doubt she is not only unfit to represent our great country in any capacity, but she will say or do anything to drag the republican party further in the mud. Ever since the VP debate where she received a false sense of confidence she has been spouting off ridiculous statements. Sarah Palin should simply stop talking because she is speaking complete nonsense. I'm beginning to believe that she was selected as McCain's running mate not to earn the support from female voters but those who are uneducated or slow. Most people with any common sense can see she is worthless and couldn't put more than one coherant sentence together without the McCain campaign telling her what to say. God forbid if Mccain is elected president and dies before the end of his first term. She can't wink or flirt her way out of alienating the United States from the rest of the world.

Ohioan   October 4th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Very tacky remarks but expected of the McCane folk!! Palin is just falling in line with their attacks as she was trained to do…she probably didn't even know about Ayers until she was prepped on what to say…

Jimi NY   October 4th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

I think Palin is a terrorist because her state is right next to Russia. I think her and Putin "rear" their little heads from time to time to plot the takeover of Canada. The "Bridge to Nowhere" was actually going to be a bridge to Russia.
Watch out, America. You also know that Russia is allies with Cuba, so that means she is a friend to Fidel Castro, too, and supports his regime.
I wouldn't be surprised if Bin Laden was hiding in the mountains of Alaska with a six pack and a hockey stick and the "first dude" as his poker partner.

This is a REAL MORON!!!! But what really scares me is that there are people in this country that agree with her. I can see some of these folks sitting around the kitchen table tonight going, "I know he was a terrorist with the name Hussein!"
I cannot believe the crap that comes out of her mouth! This is ridiculous. Next she say Obama was abducted by aliens from outer space and he wants to take over the world.

AMERICA . . . DO NOT LET THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IN OFFICE AGAIN!!!!!

OBAMA/BIDEN '08

I send comments but they are seldom posted.

I would like to see OTHER candidates written up in poltics at CNN. I am so dang tired of Sarah Palin I could puke.

She is unintelligent, uneducated, uninspiring, unimportant.

Someone needs to tell Silly Sarah that she is NOT running for president.

McCain's legacy is going to be Sarah Palin, not much more.

Steven Jensen   October 4th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

It's official: The McCain/Palin campaign is done. Palin's comments are not the cause — the final straw has been the Wall Street crisis — but they are clear evidence that this election is all but over. As a loyal Republican, I'll still be voting for McCain, but I can see now that my vote will be in vain.

Todd   October 4th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

I find it interesting that when the NY times reports a negative story about the McCain campaign (rick davis' $15,000 a month payments from fannie mae), the McCain campaign says that the NY Times is no longer a legitimate news organization and is in the tank for Obama. However, when they report something about Obama (which isn't even negative if you read the article) the McCain campaign quotes it as proof that Obama supports terrorists. Which is it.. legitimate news or the "liberal media"

Victor   October 4th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Ok let's reveal who wants to be America's next Second (or even first) dude - Todd Palin". Go to Wikipedia and you'll read this "Palin first registered to vote in 1989. From 1995 to 2002 he was registered to vote as a member of the Alaskan Independence Party.[11] In late August 2008, The Politico reported that Palin was registered to vote as an independent ("undeclared"), and had never registered as a Republican.[12] In early September 2008, a spokesman for John McCain said Palin was now a registered Republican. AIP wants Alaska to seceed from the USA!!!

Also he decided not to go to college cos he needed all those years planning how to elope with Sarah Palin after graduating from Wasilla High. So our NEXT first dude holds only a high school diploma!!!

garry albrecht   October 4th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Palin is just desperate with this last outburst. It is typically of someone who can not answer a direct question from a debate moderator. She spins her own spin instead of some solid fact.

I hope the American folks are smarter then her.

Rave   October 4th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Palin says she can see Russia from her home. I have a strong feeling that she has ties with KBG.
That is how ridiculouse her loose comments about Obama are.

Disgusting that Palin and McCain has stooped this low. I hope they realize people want real CHANGE The religious right, at work again.

Obama need to sue her for that comment. Mcsame dickchnney and bush policies . are we not sick of this?

John   October 4th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Just another example of Sarah Palin saluting and being the attack dog. The same type of fear tactics used by the Bush administration. Given the poll results for McCain, you can count on his campaign and his party to become even more negative. Just sound bites and no plans. So much for the straight talk express.

What next? This is getting ridiculous. This election is supposed to be about issues…not rablle-rousing. We are in such a sad state that this is what the political process has come to. And I dare ask what does Mrs. Palin mean when she says Obama does not hink like "you and I?" I am an independent voter and was possibly leaning toward McCain until he selected that woman from Alaska. I am also neither a big fan of Obama. I may as well do a write in vote on November 4th…I wish we could elect Hillary Clinton!!

Kim   October 4th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Obama/Oprah is NOT the people you want in the white house. I dont know what more to say to convince the American people that, you are staring down at the collapse of the Inited States of America as we know it, and i strongly suggest you be vigilate of the media. The Media wants into the white house to get thier news. McCain will not allow that… he'll show you the left and then give you a right hook straight to the jaw… the media doesnt like that, it makes them look bad, thats why as a Canadian, im very concerned who gets the white house. If the media wants a good story… investigate this one… 'Why are so many Wealthy Americans moving to Canada, peticulary the west?

Rachel   October 4th, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Mrs. Palin, your husband is a former member of the radical group Alaska Independence Party which advocates secession of Alaska from US. If you want to point fingers of Obama's obviously professional affiliations, if any, you are married to a man that doesn't want to be an American, but Alaskan. McCain was wrong once more and realizing picking you was selfish political stunt gone bad.

Mrs. Palin, if you truly love the US as you claim you do, drop out of the race. Don't do this to us. But you won't, you are not that patriotic. Surrendering because one realizes the mistake is not only patriotic but admirable. Obama is trying to do that for us in Iraq.

Obama backers on this ticker and elsewhere have made it clear that they do not like women or senior citizens. Calling Sarah a pig and John a senile old man who should change his diapers. This talk alienates and offends a HUGE number of voters. Remember, the older a citizen is the more likely they are to vote.

On Nov. 4th by the time the Obama backers get up out of bed and smoke their first joint the polling places will already be closed.

I'm sick and tired of republican terrorists misguiding, making up lies and excuses to get what they want.

Arghh, really having trouble getting stuff posted.

Once again, we see sleaze and misrepresentation coming from McCain and Palin. See the NYT debunking of this relationship. I guess the GOP is trying the old tactic of trying to throw as much mud as possible at their opponent in the hopes that something will stick.

And one more thing,
McCain was accused of taking bribes in the Keating 5 case, but charges were dropped.

Ayers was accused of the bombings but charges were dropped. Yet the McCain/Palin campaign act as though he was proven guilty.

So by their logic, either both McCain and Ayers are guilty, or neither are.

Do they really want to go there?

"Golly gee, campaignin sure is fun, don'tya know! Man, when will the talent portion of the show start? I just can't wait to display my superior seal clubbing form!"

Too bad she doesn't realize that she is a pawn with an extra x chromosome being manipulated by McCain. In the end, though, we, the public, will bear the short end of the stick. When this ticket crashes and burns (woohoo!!), Schmidt and Davis will move to throw McCain under the bus (justifiably so, however) in order to preserve their "fair haired" girl. We haven't seen the last of the pig on a lipstick. The neocons have found their new image.

Klondike Barbie won't spoil my inauguration celebration, though. GOBAMA!

After her big night of reading cue cards, it looks like Palin and her clueless and unstable running mate are getting desperate and heading for the gutter, or should I say, circling the drain. These people have nothing useful to say - their mode is to simply attack and then wrap themselves in the American flag with their usual words of "surge", "surrender". For all his talk about being a maverick, McCain is very much like Bush - they both seem to have an IQ of about 90.

Judy   October 4th, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Enough with Ayers already. Palin criticized Biden during the debates for looking back instead of looking forward (remember her "say it isn't so Joe" remarks), yet that's what she's doing here. I think that terror comes in many forms and the thought of McCain-Palin running the country terrorizes me. Who thought there could be anyone worse than Bush-Cheney?

Deb, Allentown,PA   October 4th, 2008 5:53 pm ET

Bob from Florida   October 4th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

Seems to me what we're looking at here with the Republican candidates running for office is precisely what we'll end up with if in fact they are elected into office - 4 more years of an adminstration blaming the Democrats for a failed economic policy and a failed foreign policy. Personally I'm ready to have someone in the white house who is more intelligent than the average Joe six-pack - someone who is capable of understanding the problems this country faces and is capable of not only recognizing, but also backing the people who are capable of fixing them. I don't think either John McCain nor Sarah Palin fit into that catagory. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go with the Obama/Biden ticket this time around.

reality   October 4th, 2008 5:52 pm ET

The McCain campaign should be ashamed of themselves. This after he promised a dignified campaign void of such personal attacks.

This is another reason people should not vote for McCain. He has no morals anymore. He'll sink to any level to win. We don't want any leader with such low moral standards.

She doesn't believe in American values and wants to remove certain books from libraries (respect our Constitution) and charges women who are raped for their examination kits (awful human being)! Stop the lies!

We have real issues and real problems oversees and on American soil. Stop distracting the American people and building wedges between the citizens.

Obama was 8 years old child when Ayers and the Weatherman group were active. Obama and Ayers were members of an anti-poverty board between 1999 and 2002 and Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's re-election fund. THAT IS THEIR ONLY CONNECTION.

But I am not surprised she is confused as she tends to be when she can't process facts or the truth! Why doesn't she ask McCain why he supported deregulation and continued to support the greed by supporting the tax cuts for the rich - these failed policies that have put America two steps away from financial bankruptcy. Oh and where is the maverick now - the bail out was supposed to be $700 billion and suddenly it's $840 billion due to the GOP's pork that they added on.

Nice try Palin. People want to hear how you are going to make change. No one wants to hear attacks on the other candidate! Go back to Alaska!

Isn't it just like the "good Christian" to use fear tactics, lies and bear FALSE WITNESS

Irresponsible mother
Cheney in a beehive

I am sooo tired of these negative attacks by the McCain campaign. They spoon-feed Palin these ridiculous accusations to make because there is NO WAY she would come up with them on her own!!! She is like the Republican parrot, saying whatever they please. It is only a month left in this election, can both sides stick to the facts and explain what they would do in office.

Palin has some nerve trying to attack the character of Obama, when she and her family refuse to cooperate with officials for the Troopergate!

I guess it proves McCain will do anything to get elected, including selecting someone who has no business being a VP candid
