Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.
In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

This story of theirs trying to connect the two really holds no ground. It is just more despicable tactics by the McPailin camp. They know they need to take the focus off the economy because McCain doesnt know much about the economy according to himself.

LMAO!!! McCain/Palin ticket is going mad. Please let’s stick with the real issue instead personal attacks!! If I was Palin I won't try to get personal!! Can she explain the troopgate investigation??? Of course they have to run an aggressive campaign if they want to win… they need to distract us from the real issue. Otherwise there is no way they will win the Whitehouse on Nov. 4th

What she said was far from reality. I think she is Mccain's toy. She can not be trusted. Bridge to nowhere....... By the way she was a member of Alaska independence party.

It is unsurprising for the McCain camp to attack Obama in the midst of this economic crisis, to say nothing of the state of the country's energy crisis and world standing. They have no viable platform to stand on; no position they can win. It's time to pack up, go home, and pine for all those tax breaks they surely deserve.

Kind of hypocritical considering she is married to a man who advocates Alaska sesseeding from the U.S. Todd Palin is a registered independent now, but the two previous election cycles, he was a registered member of the Alaska Independence Party. She is married to a man that does not even want to be a citizen of this great country. Great pick for a VP there.

What will McCain and Palin try next? Notice the Democrats don't bring up Keating 5, gambling ties, or personal issues about Palin and her dysfunctional family. But anything goes for the gutter campaign of Palin and McCain. Country first? What a joke! McCain and Palin will tell any lie imaginable in an attempt to win votes. It's pitiful.

America needs to know who they are electing just as well as what they want to implament. This information is no different than when Biden or Obama claim McCain is the same as Bush with him voting with W 90% of the time. In fact Palin's comment is more accurate and factual than that most popular Obama statement.

Knowing Obama's friends and past, his voting record, his tax increases, his feelings about our miltary, and seeing the type of charecter his supporters have from thier posts on this forum and others on the net, will give Americans the most importaint information they will need in making thier choice this November.

Thanks to Sarah Palin for making this importaint information available to all fair minded Americans struggling with their choice of the best of two evils. Also, for the comments from the Obama supporters to these facts, just compare them to the comments from those from the right. Now, who is more tolerant, fair, and doesn't wish harm to those who disagree with them?

No plan for economy? Instead of talking about the economy, the McCain/Palin team is going to attack Barack Obama's character. McCain/Palin are not putting the country first, instead, they are putting themselves first.

    Shame on McCain and Palin

This woman is just an idiot. I can't believe she buys into all the crap the McCain people are feeding her. She was so disrespectful to Senator Biden at the debate. When she spoke he looked very interested and intently at her. When he spoke she spent most of her time looking at the notes they had prepared for her. That's why she kept wanting to go back to another subject. She was programmed. to say certain things and she had to get them into the conversation.

Doesn't this woman realize McCain doesn't like women and if they, God forbid, make it to the White House, Cindy McCain is going to slap her to the back of the line and not allow her to take the spot light away from her. She doesn't look real thrilled when she has to stand near Palin anyway.

I'm so tired of this woman pimping her children, when they should either be in school or in bed. What was the deal with having that baby out the other night after the debate. She should keep her mouth shut and just ride on her little bit of glory she had from the debate. although i'd hardly call it glory since she was programmed by the McCain regime.

I do not like dirty political statements, but I can not even think of Obama becoming my president. I am just praying that is doesn't happen. The United States needs someone that is not so radical in everyway as Obama is. I would not trust him to walk my dog let alone run the country.

I do believe so. As Hillary once said: How can he tolerate his anti-America Pastor for 20 years? How can he palls with Extremist Bii A. for such a long time? How can he has friends like the jailed Major? such and such.

They are all facts that shadow his past.

FINALLY!!! FINALLY!!!!! Thank you Governor Palin for FINALLY bringing this to the NATIONAL front. This has been known about Obama for months. Ayers wife is just as radical as Ayers is.

Oh, this is going to be fun. An outsider to Washington with NO political agenda other than to bring the truth foward. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

When OBAMA was 8, this man was accused of a crime. Now, being on the same charity Board where they probably met, and the guy, like MANY MANY people who are Democrats and/or are impressed with Obama, hosts a fundraiser for him. They live in the same part of Chicago.

Wow, Palin probably cant imagine knowing as many people of varied backgrounds, histories, race, color, religious beliefs etc.and having polite, cordial relationships with them without necessarily endorsing all of their beliefs, past actions and relationships in their lives. A bit different than living most of your life in Wasilla, Alaska.

    What a naieve dummy.

"...the McCain campaign has decided to take a much more aggressive approach during the remainder of the campaign that will refocus attention away from the country’s troubled economy..."
Translation: the McCain campaign has decided to go negative to distract America from real issues...
