Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.
In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

The camera loves Sarah Palin - darn right it does! You betcha! The microphone? Not so much. Folksy is nice. I like folksy. But a little folksy goes a long way with me. With most people. It's fine if you're putting on a revival of "Li'l Abner." Hey! Golly!

For running a national government in difficult times? That's a different matter.

And it's no substitute for...for... What's that word I'm looking for? For knowledge. For knowin' stuff.

And watching Sarah Palin over these last five weeks - from her great convention speech, to stumbling around with Charlie Gibson, to imploding with Katie Couric, to surviving a debate with Joe Biden - you had to notice:

She still hasn't given any sign that she actually knows anything about anything. I take that back: She knows something about energy. Or at least about pipelines, and drilling. Which is why she kept trying to turn the conversation to energy every chance she got. (Regardless of the question she'd been asked.) The rest of it was just talking points. Memorized. And only one answer deep. That just doesn't cut it. Not for a vice president. Certainly not for a possible president.

"She came across like everybody!" - that's what someone said on one of those post-debate panels of uncommitted voters. "She sounds just like me!" - how many times have you heard that about her? "She sounds just like me!" That's nice. Maybe she can be Secretary of Next-Door Neighbor. But - no offense - I don't want someone who's "just like me" to be Vice President of the United States, any more than I'd want somebody who's "just like me" to be my dentist, or my heart surgeon, or my air-traffic controller. I'd want somebody who's qualified, unless you think that all the problems we're facing are so simple that anyone can solve them.

You don't really think that, do you? I didn't think so. That's not elitist. And it's certainly not sexist. There are plenty of highly talented, highly qualified women out there - in government service, in community organizations, in business, in the media. Women who absolutely know their stuff. Sarah Palin - perky, feisty, folksy Sarah Palin - just doesn't happen to be one of them.

No one is going to care about character issues while the economy is in very bad shape. Shows that McCain would rather sling mud than talk about the economy.

Mccain's inner circle is now convinced that he is headed for defeat in Nov. 4 – what a shame!

From what source did she get her information? From the many books, newspapers, and magazines she reads? Ha! Ha! Ha!
What irks me the most about Sarah is that she has not earned the right to talk down to anyone. She can't even put a decent sentence together and she wants to accuse Obama of palling with terrorists? By the way, her debating skills leave very little to be desired. I have heard high school students do better.
I find nothing charming about her winks and down-on-the farm rhetoric. She is not serious enough. She always has that stupid, obnoxious grin on her face that makes me think she is just plain silly!
McCain, I applaud you picking a woman to run with...just NOT this woman!!

Good job, McShame-Pain... way to look even more pathetically absurd. Bring on the swift-boat. It's your last beacon of false hope. And, it won't work here! NOt this time. No way. No how. No Mccain. No Palin.

She has no respect for others, at the begining of the debate she asked Sen Joe Biden if she could call him Joe, and then used that against him.

Beware of her, she uses her "looks" to advance her agenda.

Obama could not be more right!...McCain and Palin would rather sling mud, (note ,not even accurate mud), than outlay a plan to get us out of this mess..

They sure talk alot, but we still hear nothing of a plan, this is due to the fact the plan they would taut is MORE OF THE SAME!!

    OBAMA/BIDEN 08! 12!

    CLINTON 16! 20!

TIME TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY!!

GO SARAH BARRACUDA! Finally, someone is telling the truth about obama.

Why did the DNC file a motion to dismiss in the lawsuit that is pending against obama in regards to his birth certificate? He has been ordered to produce it. What are they trying to hide? If he didn't have something to hide, they would just produce the birth certificate, not file a motion to dismiss.

As a soldier in the Armed Forces, it is so sad to see such low level in American politics. All over the world, there are many questions as to our state of minds. To label any government official as terrorist is beyond comprehension. What is more sad, there are poeple who think that it is OK. For someone who is unable to answer the basic question but only want to engage into giberish statements like a little girls in 3rd grade, Gov Palin needs to really look in the mirror... She seems to forget that her husband was a member of the separatist group in Alaska. They may not want to admit it but everyone knows that it s true.

  15. FORGET THE VP OFFICE SARAH, IS A PERKY FLIRTY CUPIE DOLL, WITH A COMELY WINK VYING FOR MISS U.S.A. AND GUYS, HER TALENT IS PLAYING THE FLUTE!

In fact, a republican religious neo-con was whipped into such a frenzy over Sarah, he wrote about his reaction in his column.

The printed response involved the words “sit”, “couch”, “straight up”, and “burst” all in one sentence…

Wonder if he was eating buttered popcorn at the time…

Dog gon’ it dude, don’t cha’ know, God was a watchin’ ya!

Of course, He may have been too busy monitoring Sarah’s sanctioned religious crusade in Iraq, to have noticed.

Does a woman under investigation for corruption in her own state who is running with the only presidential candidate ever to be reprimanded by congress (keating 5) want to bring up something like this?

Here's some advice Palin, shut up and go hide under a rock for 30 days. Hillary Clinton tried this line of attack in the primaries and it didn't work. McCain tried it over the summer, and it didn't work. Notice a pattern?
Obama knew Ayers, so that makes him guilty of everything Ayers did? I guess if you think seeing Russia from Alaska counts as foreign policy experience then it wouldn't be too hard to use the same logic against Obama.

Problem is you are a moron and you have no plans to fix our economy so the only option you have is to smear your opponent. You also fail to understand you have now opened yourself up to attack, where you were fairly immune to it before.

    Stupid republicans.

I expected this from the McPalin campaign. It was only a matter of hours. They really do not have any shame! The New York Times article was showing people that Obama does not have a connection with Ayers!
I guess Mrs. Palin needs to brush up on her reading comprehension...

This McCin campaign gets sleezier all the time. I guess when you dont have any answers to campaign on you go negative and slanderous. It makes both McCain and palin look less ready to lead and more willing to do whatever it takes to win. I guess the fear tactics worked for that moron bush so why not give it a try!

How in the heck Palin question somones committment to this country when her IQ is 20/12? Terrorist attack will not make the Palin/McCain ticket win. Palin/McCain is the dirtiest campaign I have ever witness.

She knows how to read a stump speech and deliver on it, but after that nothing is left in her brain. I wish she would stop flirting at Americans. A wink when someone is speaking is a sure sign they are lying.
