Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

Well, she really is a pitbull with lipstick. McCain should be ashamed of himself for hiding his ambition behind Palin's lies.

I have tried to think and speak kindly about Gov. Palin - but no more: She is simply despicable. To suggest that Obama has any "connection with terrorists" is mean-spirited, ignorant, and cynical.

Clearly, Palin knows nothing and believes nothing. She is a politician at its worst: An empty, heartless shell. She will say and do anything for the sake of her political ambitions.

It is a great relief that she will return to Alaska in November (that is, until she is elected to the U. S. senate).

She got to go back to the issues that are much relevant right now in the lives of the american people instead of spending time on some false personal attacks.

Before you start pointing fingers make sure your hands are clean. She has some absolute NERVE to say the least!! McCain and Palin disgust me and I look very forward to watching as they lose November 4th!
They are nothing but fear mongers- playing on the hatred and biggotry that plagues our country. Because they cant attack him for being African American- they will play on the fears using words like "terrorist". If they were the better people for the job they could beat Obama on facts and policies- and since they cant they want to play dirty- doesnt take much for Americans to see that!!
How come no one is talking about Sarah Palin being blessed by a witch doctor that practiced with hunts in Africa- and actually had women murdered because they were alleged "witches"!!!???
How come no one points out the fact that their "transparent" VP is being less than transparent regarding the investigation into her Abuse of Power- and has the McCain campaign doing everything they can to have the charges dropped??

No more slimy Republicans- Sarah Palin is nothing more than a WOLF in sheeps clothing!!

These sort of attacks say so much more about the people using them than the people they are aimed at. John McCain looks weak and impotent using this childish approach. Who wants a man who fights throwing mudballs and hides behind a woman skirts. Pathetic.

I would like to hear more from the candidates on what they plan to do when they become President instead of cutting on each other. I am a Democrat, but feel that all of this negativism is so childish and useless. We need to hear more involved details about how they plan to save us from destruction and economical ruin. It scares me to think that Palin is a heartbeat away from being the leader of our country. McCain must have had a senior moment when he chose Palin for his VP. or maybe it was her good looks or she flirted with him with a wink and a smile! Watch out Mrs. McCain!!!! It looks to me that Palin with do anything to get what she wants. I am not a "Hockey Mom" or "Joe 6-pack", and don't want to be one-Thank you very much, Sarah! Go Obama!!!!

McCain is now grasping....If she bothered to read the whole article, she would see that there hasn't been any close connection.

This is surprising that a smart lady like Palin would believe such a thing about Obama. I blame McCain for this attempt to belittle Obama by spreading lies about him. Palin on the other hand is power hungary and will do anything to win. I believe she is a socialist and an extremist. McCain is a bitter old man about most things. I believe he is a racist and suffering from post traumic stress disorder for many years. He shows how he would lead the country, that is with anger and hate for others not like him and Palin.

Hey Sarah, how are you going to fix the economy? How are you going to end the war? How are you going to restore civil liberties? How are you going to restore the image of America in the world? How are you going to fight terrorism? How are you going to catch bin Laden? How are you going to prevent a nuclear Iran? How are you going to stop America's addiction to oil? How are you going to fix the health care system?

The article said: "Speaking at a fund-raising event in Colorado Saturday, Palin said: “This is not a man who sees America as you and I do..."

Yeah, he probably studied some Supreme Court cases a some time in his life...and has at least a small clue about our history as a nation.

What a joke...how can she be taken seriously. We want a serious VP, not a wind-up doll full of talking points. McCain can do better...

These people will not stop from going any distance to criticize others. Look at the difference. Democrats fight a respectable campaign by questioning on the issues. Republicans fight a immoral campaign by attacking the candidates' values. Its well documented what Obama has with Tony Rezko and William Ayers. Did Obama or Biden ever ever question Palin's personal problems which she has never even defended herself on record. If questioning patriotism is the only way republicans think they can win, they turn off the independents like me.

You know, I used to think of Sen. McCain as a man of integrity. I used to think of him as a man of honor. Luckily he is starting to show his true stripes and hopefully the rest of America will also see him for what he is and what he has become. I am so glad that Sen. Obama is staying with the issues while Sen. McCain plays school yard bully games.

These are serioud times in the country which require serious plans from serious people to resolve the issue. Republican candidates do not provide any plans on the issues.

I hope rep candidate is elected and then people can see country sinking further and rapidly as margin for error for next president is real thin.

Why won't these people pack up their marbles and go home? They refuse to tell us HOW they will fix the economy; expect Americans to pay thousands and potentially lose their health insurance under their proposed health care plan; and are BOTH ignorant about the economy AND foreign policy. So now they want to attack Obama's character over a non-issue. They have pulled out of Michigan, out of Pennsylvania, DC, Maryland, VA, and Pa., are littered with Obama/Biden signs and rarely do you see Republicans voicing their support on these comments. RARELY. We need change – desperately. The entire WORLD is watching. Only Obama can bridge this gap – not these people who feel they are above the law (Palin refusing to cooperate with an investigation-her many hidden private e-mail accounts). I don't want my president winking at me and being 'schooled' as we go. She couldn't even graduate from one college – she's a joke and McSame knows it. So now they resort to mudslinging. Unbelievable!

Is there any chance CNN is doing a fact check to accompay their reporting so we know the TRUTH...I know what a silly notion the TRUTH...not just what each camoaign is saying.
I would also be happy to have you report the Palin witchcraft religious ritual as often, AS OFTEN ,as you played the Jeremiah Wright soundbites. Fair is Fair.
And by the way where were your so called 'investigative reporters' when the economic crisis was looming years ago. Oh, that's right you just report the news after the fact. Yelling fire when we are ablaze doesn't really address the culprit who was thinking about setting the fire and did...You should count yourselves in this mess along with a do nothing Admiistration and Congress.
We have a free press...free to report and say whatever they like with no consequence.
