Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

This economy is going in the tank and this is what they are talking about?!? These people need to wake up. If Palin keeps talking about this crap I will vote for Obama. At least he talks about the issues.

John McCain, Sarah Palin and their handlers have told so many lies that they wouldn't know the truth if it smacked them upside the head ... actually, that sounds like a good idea. Shame, shame!!

I don't condone what Mr. Ayers did in the 60's, but I am 65 and past those times...I don't forget the.

McCain, if he is the man man he claims to be, should be campaigning like a man, not like a little boy who has been caught doing wrong and can respond by calling your mother names.

If Obama wanted to sling real mud he could start with the Keating 5 and Cindy McCains's drug use and work from there. He doesn't need to and isn't that type of person. But if McCain insists on mudding the waters he will only hurt himself.

It never ceases to amaze me what John McCain will do to win this election. His 'Straight Talk' motto seems to have no principlies anymore. Palin has clearly showed that she has none. Talk about power hungry!
McCain, I used to think that you stand for honesty and integrity, but that disappeared some months ago. It's really a pity.

This is just another Republican political tactic to make attacks on Obama's character a centerpiece of candidate John McCain's message in the final weeks of the presidential race. What's clear is that John McCain and Sarah Palin would rather spend their time tearing down Barack Obama than laying out a plan to build up our economy.THis is really Pathatic when it comes down to lying and misleading the americian people..Shame on you John McCain for using the Atwater_Rove way of politics..

  8. Jezzebel - Sarah

The Bible talks about the spirit of "Witch Craft" as a person who uses their influence to control, manipulate and seduce people or situation. Take a look at how Jezzebel (in the Bible) used her influence (sex appeal ...wink, wink) to seduce a nation of people. Wake up America, that Pastor was not talking about a figurative "Witch" but the spirit of Witch Craft

Also, read the book of Revelation that talks about Jezzebel. Please send Sarah Palin back home with her pack of lies. Men/Women/America don't be seduced.

I wouldn't want to see us running to Alaska after she pushes the button!

    This is critical!

Fear him! That's their plan. You have got to be kidding me! What about some actual plans McCain! And if I'm Sarah Palin and I care about my political future, the last thing I would want to do is use prove lies as a foundation for an attack.

Oh my God! The McShame campaign is in now in 'desperate mode'. Americans are tired of been hoodwinked and this swift-boat tactic is not gonna work this time. If the GOP think we're dumb enough to believe Obama should suffer for the crimes committed by one of his Illinois constituent when he (Obama) was just 8 yrs old then thta's another bridge to nowhere! We may have to look into Sarah and Todd Palin'c connections to the Alaska Seceessionist party...Todd was a member of the AIP until a few yrs ago!!!

Palin was probably told to say this by the McCain camp. She probably thinks she telling some new juicy tidbit, when this has already been mentioned and discarded months ago. McCain is using Palin as his personal dummy.

What a little toady she has become. So sad. McCain needs lies and half truths to run his campaign, the very thing he decried he would never do. A pathetic old man!

It bespeaks of tremendous shame and disaqppointment for Mr. McCain's campaign to stoop to such nonsensical obfuscations in a quest to win an election at such a time in American political discourse. Mr. McCain's campaign, if for nothing at tall, should be mindful of the fact that many struggling democracies look to America for guidance in conducting conducting free, fair and informed elections. It does American equivocations to such countries no good when your political conversations get so clouded with such diatribes and patent falsehoods. Your politics should bring the best in Americans even when you disagree. Americans deserve better!

The McCain campaign is embarrasingly unethical and dishonest. To think a man who at one time was ruined, hurt, and violated by the same tactics used on him. Rove and other campaign managers blasted McCains reputation and he has chosen to sell his soul. Although he has an opportunity to create education on smear campaigns, PTSD, benefits, and dishonesty, he chooses to sell out. Palin told America during the debates she will not follow directions at the debate but will gladly follow her own rules. How can we trust her to follow the rules in our Administration? How can we trust she will do the honorable thing for America when she defies rules and ethics? Between Palin and McCane, they are on a road to the depths of depression. Wake up America! Our allies hate us; we represent dishonor and a superficial philosophy.

Palin smearing Obama? I can't wait until this puppet is put back in it's box in November. Maybe when she doesn’t have the McCain posse to shield her, she’ll be forced to face her own controversy in Alaska. How can anyone still respect a woman who brings nothing more to the table than prepared attacks from the Republican swift-boat machine?

To quote Dick Cheney, I think we're seeing the "last throes" of the McCain campaign. He was unable to beat Obama on issues, vision or substance, and unable to pull the wool over the eyes of the majority of the American people with the sham candidate Palin. Suspending his campaign didn't work, and neither did trying to cancel the debates. So now McCain will go all Rush Limbaugh on Obama by busting out the right wing's greatest hits. Soon he'll be saying that Obama is a secret Muslim. Too bad it will backfire. You betcha!
