Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.
In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

Not the least bit surprising coming from Palin. What do you expect from an airhead?

    So much for Honor.
What a sad commentary on someone who used to be a decent man. He's heading down the same route as Duke Cunningham.
I know a lot of WWII veterans who are crying in their graves today.

I think this leaves the McCain campaign wide open for counter attacks such as keating 5, mccain's gambling problem, troopergate, palins witch doctor, mccain's in-laws mob ties, etc.

She's desperate and pathetic. The man did bad things when Obama was 8 years old, now he's involved in Chicago politics which forced Obama to deal with him occasionally. McCain and his puppet are getting more ridiculous and low by the moment.

Sarah Palin, in attempting to smear dirt on Barack Obama, only smears dirt on her own face. Her snotty accusations aren't the slightest bit credible. We can only hope that her vindictive, false accusations will make more people decide to vote for Obama/Biden!!

Mccain/Palin have nothing else to tell the American people. Obama was eight years old when the Eyer issue happen and Americans understand what an eight years old can do. Mccain left his first wife undivoced and was having an affair with his current wife, Cindy the elitis millionaire Mccain ,who has no idea what a typical Americans are going through and the so call Sarah ,Miss Piggy lipstick , Palin who critized others while her daughter got pregnant at age 17, was unable to answer any foreign policy question that she was asked. She refused to suport apstinence program that could have helped her daughter and now the Republicans are talking like getting pregnant at that age is all good without a husbamd. If it was Chelsea Cilnton or Obama's daughter was pregnant will the republicans be singing the same tune? you could have seen Rush,ORAILEY and Henessey. criticizing and yelling like a mad dog

Why can't they just focus on the issues and not have to bullie the other party? We have real problems and I think people want to hear answers, not lies/distortions and media "bites". Don't take things out of context. Affilation is not always what it seems...

If this election was about who could use the most underhanded, dirty personal attacks then it would be no contest. McCain/Palin would win hands down. But this election is about everyday people trying to hold on to their homes, jobs and 401K's. And that's why Obama/Biden will win!

Obama was 8 when Ayres did what he did (40 yrs ago) and all of a sudden Senator Obama (now 48) is responsible for all that? Palin, get a life, go abck to Alaska and take care of your kid rather than Todd and you leaving the baby alone in Alaska. You are a shame to American people. Try talking about the "fundamentals of the economy that are so strong" according to Senator McCain. American people are sick and tired of those Swift-Boat politics. They deserve a lot better than that!!!

Palin and McCain are showing that they will now say anything , even if it is true or not. They are getting desperate because of their sinking ratings. How sad it has to come to this. Hopefully their negativity will backfire on them. I guess if their is nothing to build up about yourself, try and drag the others down.

The Mccain camp is resorting to Bush/Rove tactics of 2000/2004!
The Mccain camp should worry about the appearance of impropriety in the Troopergate Investigation.
Or The fact Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain has enjoyed strong support from a lobbyist group that backs the Kosovo Liberation Army despite allegations the KLA is a Muslim terrorist group with ties to criminal drug networks and al-Qaida.

So it seems Mccain has AlQaida ties..That are alot stronger than Obamas ties to Ayers.

Someone should tell New to the scene Palin to check her own backyard before she starts sprouting lies and slander!

Well let's ask Sarah how her husband's plans to help Alaska succession from the USA is going? Also has Sarah seen any good witch doctors lately? Oh, Sarah how's the Troopergate investigation going? Sarah how's that new pipeline going that a Canadian company is alleging going to build? Hey Sarah ban any good books lately? Hey Sarah charge any rape victims for their rape kits lately?

I rebuke you Caribou Barbie in the name of that is wrong with the economy and the occupation of Iraq.

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

    * If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you're 'exotic, different.'

    * Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, yours is a quintessential American story.

    * If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

    * Name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

    * Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

    * Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

    * If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black

President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that

Registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law

professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over

750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human

Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state

of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs,

Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any

    real leadership experience.

    * If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6

years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the

governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become

the country's second highest ranking executive and next in line behind a man

    in his eighth decade.

    * If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful

daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.

    * If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and then left your disfigured wife

and married the heiress the next month, you're a true Christian.

    * If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of

birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

    * If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex

education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up

    pregnant, you're very responsible.

    * If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious

Law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to

raise a family, your family's values don't represent America 's.

    * If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and

no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a

member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your

    family is extremely admirable.

OK, that makes it much more clearer now...

The rest of the world does not, by any streach of the immagination , see the USA 'as the greatest force for good in the world'. That comment by Gov. Palin is the personification of the arrogance and ignorance displayed by a person who has to attempt to understand the problems faced by world governments (and people who don't shoot moose for a hobby) in a matter of days. It is insulting to people who have reported, read, and who have attempted to followed current affairs for most of their lives.

Ahem, Sarah Palin! It is easy to throw punches behind the pants of the would-be candidate (re-McCain). Why don't you take tough questions from the MSM? How about Trooper gate and the list of your skeletons behind the closet. I hope Obama and Biden get tougher on her. She is getting away with way too much in the name of being a woman. As a woman I am offended by her lack of gravitas and the bar being so low for her. Only in America!!!
