Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

It's comments like these that turn an intellectual conversation about issues into biased and inaccurate rants and raves.

If Palin is really up to the job, she should play hardball rather than say the media is being unfair to her ("what news publications do you read" is NOT a trick question).

What ever happened to "attack the ideas, not the person"??

TO THE McCAIN CAMPAIGN: THESE TACTICS NEVER WORK AND WILL WITHOUT A DOUBT BACKFIRE ON YOU. THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN ISN'T ANY BETTER.

WHY POLITICIANS CONTINUE TO USE THESE DEPLORABLE TECHNIQUES IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION. NEITHER OF YOU DESERVE TO BE OUR PRESIDENT.

An Alaska judge has refused to block the state investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power when she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan this summer. Attorneys argued over the proposed temporary restraining order to block the Legislature's investigation on Thursday.

The train has left the station "folks", the election is ovr and the American people finally opened their eyes to see the McCain for what he is: Selfish, greedy, corrupt beltway politician.

I do expect new lows coming from McCain camp, since they have got nothing left in the ammo dump, now that the real McCain is revealed. Palin choice shows nothing but a reckless "hail Mary" from McCain, who is NOT a republican by any means or stretch of imagination.

Why is it that not a single article has been written about McCain's involvement in the Keating 5 scandal, same as the one today, where he actually took mobey from embezzlers and was censured by Congress for "inappropriate behavior". Is there media self-imposed a gag order on it?

What I am mostly surprised is the press "non-coverage" of McCain's womanizing and philandering in DC for the last 20 years. It is talked about in every circle within the beltway but the press is "mum" about it. He has hit on every attractive woman in every party he has been to, including tasteless proposals and groping the wives of his colleagues. Why?

This is beyond pathetic. The right-wingers have totally proven our point.

You have nothing ... NOTHING that you can defend McCain or Palin about. Not one shred of evidence that either one is anything more than a total loser.

Hey, I bet that once in the 1980's Obama took a leak at a urinal right next to a guy who had a criminal record. Let's bash the media for not covering it! Let's make some completely asinine argument that Obama is now a criminal because he stood next to this guy for 30 seconds.

This doesn't surprise me. I am sure we will hear more offensive personal attacks from the McCain campaign as November 4tj gets closer. The polls aren't going well for McCain.

This lady is not only dumb but she is extremely dangerous. Just because she did not make a fool of herself (as usual) in her debate, she thinks she is the savior of the American people. This right wing nut case is extremely dangerous for this country, because she has the combinmation of 3 charcteristics which makes her very toxic, dumb, ignorant and power hungry.
Even God canot help America if we give power to the Republican party for another four more years.

This isn't surprising. McCain/Palin can't win on the issues, so they have to resort to the politics of fear and hope that enough Americans fall for it (again).

After complaining of sexism, Palin falls back on the age old Republican subtle racism to suggest that Obama is not one of "us." Americans are tired of nasty personal attacks and this style of campaigning. Why doesn't Palin tell us how she will fix the economy, health care, national security (the list goes on and on)? Instead she engages in juvenile playground name-calling. America deserves much better....the choice is ours.

Ahh, so Palin is done with her debate and she thinks she did such a great job that she now has our ear. Guess again, Mrs. Palin. Enjoy your time in the national limelight. It is coming to an end.
You failed to impress the majority of our country and now is being used by Grandpa McCain in his sleazy campaign tactics. Too bad it won't work.
