Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

    "Force for good"???!!!!!

Palin spent $400,000 to lobby for shooting bears and wolves from planes, which the majority of Alaskans were against.

BRUTAL MURDER OF WILDLIFE IS NOT A FORCE FOR GOOD!

Why would Obama support Bill Ayers when Obama is running for the presidency??? Then Bill Ayers would want to blow up the government again. this accusation against OBama just doesn't make sense.

Troopergate! Troopergate! What's worse for our country, being on a board with someone who was a radical many years ago or abusing the power of the office you hold RIGHT NOW? Sarah Palin is may not be a deep thinker, but she's ambitious and vindictive as all get out ... also.

As a voter I am truly tired of these senseless rampages, especially from someone who is no better than a 5th grader. Let's hear the "real" facts. Let's hear what specifics McCain proposes to help this country. Oh that's right he can't, because he is in lock step with Bush. Forget it, I already know what Bush wanted. I've experienced it for almost 8 years.

What's the difference between Gov. Palin and a Pittbull? A pitbull had a better chance of getting me to vote for McCain.

The media is so liberal and the democrats are so blind. Concentrate on the economy? I wish Obama could do that, the only thing I hear is the word CHANGE and nice speeches full of empty promises. Like he has not attacked McCain, let alone Palin these last few weeks. McCain should of started his fight long time ago. I can't believe that one could vote for someone that belonged to a racist church more than half his life with messages like "dam America"? And only stopped having a relationship with Wright because it became public? You want to talk about racist. It does not get bettern than that. What a bunch of hyprocrites. The democrats are the ones who should crawl back in a hole. They are the ones who started this mess with Clinton and did not want to oversee Fannie and Freddie. WAKE UP AMERICA.

I guess Paliin is starting her run for 2012. Shame on you Sarah. Add this inflammatory comment to: we may need to go to war with Russia, can't say what newspapers she reads, I can see Russia from Alaska so I have foreign policy experience, didn't respond to many questions during the debate, winking at the audience (would she do these with foreign diplomats????), troopergate, not knowing McCains voting record, confusion over her stance on Pakistan and same sex couple rights to name a few. Change 08 Obama-Biden

    Seriously....

This is beyond offensive. It is wildly ignorant and arrogant of the McCain/Palin campaign.

I think Palin has a lot of talent. But her ignorance to broader national issues and international affairs is dangerous during these times. These sophmoric attacks belong at some other level of election (perhaps student council). But not the presidency.

At some point Americans will need to wean from a dependency on cheaply crafted attacks to ponder on matters of far graver importance -issues.

Why do the news outlets play into the hands of the hate spewing lie spreading idiots from hell? could it be they are in bed with the trash that is bringing the campaign to the point of disgust? I think so. Also I bet you don't have the guts to post this.

. . . AND DIDN'T "TODD PALIN" (First Dude") BELONG TO AN ALASKAN SEPERATIST PARTY.

I think the mantra of Todd's Alaskan Revolutionary Party wanted to separate from the United States, and they were stock piling weapons in preparations to do so.

And Sarah has the nerve to make up this lie on Obama.

This has nothing to do with uniting the country. These bogus attacks against Obama are more dangerous to our democracy than something that happened in the 1960s when Obama was eight years old. I was twelve and against the Vietnam war, does that make me and millions of Americans terrorists? Maybe we should take a closer look at Sara and Todd's membership in the AIP. (Alaska Independence Party) This group supports secession from the Union.

Wow, this site is unbelievable. Ayers yes bombed when Obama was 8, but his article of stomping on our flag and wishing he had bombed more AMERICAN SOIL TARGETS was just released on 9/11/2001. I guess only americans that care about their country would be aware of this. I guess in a few decades we will see Bin Laden hosting a fundraiser for Obama, I mean afterall according to this defense all will be forgiven???????

She's turning into a really wonderful Republican, isn't she? You don't need facts, an understanding of government, ethics, principals, common sense, good judgment, self respect, character, patriotism, etc, to win or run a campaign. All you need is to take some flimsy facts and spin them so you can call your opponent a terrorist. It's what has worked the last 8 years. Anyone stupid enough to vote for a candidate based on the lies, smear and fear, deserve what they get. America is in ruins and possibly ruined by the last people who got into office running their campaigns this way. You want 4 more? Now's your chance.

I would say this speaks VOLUMES about the character of John McCain and Sarah Palin. Awful despicable people who don't love their country, just the power it could give them and what they would do to it if given a chance.

John McCain and S.P. should be sued by William Ayers for defamation of character. The McCain handlers have been exposed as a group who have yet to grasp the pulse of the electorate. They seem to believe that they need only speak to those who they enjoy labeling the hard working white people. McCain and his buddies have managed to rape the treasury of this country while sending young men and women off to die in a war that may last longer than the Viet Nam War. No disgusting ill-advised attack on Barack Obama can change that fact. While McCain and S.P. continue to shore up their so-called base of beer drinking, gun toting, bigoted, high school drop outs of low information voters; we- the other myriad groups of Americans first want to thank them for not including us as a part of their base; and then unlike your base we are capable of thinking criticallyl. Lastly, your fear tactics are as out of date as your out of touch approach to real issues.

Yes, get ready for the last ditch deperate attempts by the repubs to try to gain some ground, as they know America is mostly behind the Dem ticket, and that is growing stronger daily because of just these kind of attack mechanisms. McCain's camp is going to try to trash Obama with every peice of B.S. they can from here to Nov. 4.

This will only make the rebubs look worse and lose more votes because America is sick of it. We got it from them last two GOP campaigns and now a 3rd time with McCain. Same old, some old. And yes, Palin is just a GOP barking mouthpiece. With all her little winks and slashing slurs. She and the GOP are disgraceful and sore losers. Most of America does NOT want them in office. We look forward to thier defeat.

SOS- Save America from a fate worse than death- Vote Obama

Bill Ayers doesn't hit the radar screen in this election. The George W Bush cheerleader for 8 years and a 25 year proponent of deregulations seems more significant.

Just look in a mirror. We've all had past relationships with people that, in the end, weren't in stride with our values and beliefs.

This election is not about past relationships, instead, the constituency is more concerned with the future of our country, more specifically, the next 4 years.

Hindsight leads me to firmly believe that such distractions in the past are partially responsible to our current predicament.

That's low even for the her. So can we use the same logic and say how she was a member of the party that wanted Alaska to break away from the United States? Sounds pretty radical to me. But since real facts don't really seem to matter to these people, why not say it.

I am so sick of these nasty tactics the McCain camp is using, get real or just go away! America has enough problems because of you and your buddies.

It's not just time for a change, it's way past time for a change!!!

McCain is a road to nowhere.
