Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.
In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

Sounds like a Rovian script. Palin can't speak in complete sentences on her own, so it must have been scripted for her. Trash talk from desperate, disgusting people. Have they no shame?

Every registered voter should read char's comments. It couldnt be said better. I am a republican and I am tired of the lies that this country has been subjected to under Bush/Cheney. I previously had a great deal of respect for McCain until he chose Palin as his VP. How can he look the American public in the eye and say that she is the best person for the job. More republican lies.

    GO OBAMA

The NY Times article effectively debunked this, I know because I read it. Apparently, Governor Fembot did not, which I find completely unsurprising. We can just add this to the list of things she (a) doesn't know, and (b) hasn't bothered to learn.

    Vote Obama/Biden!

Palin doesn't even know Obama, let alone who he's pals with. I suggest she try to learn more about the U.S. history, the U. S. economy, and foreign policy instead of trying to hit Obama w/ stuff she has no clue on. Also (her favorite word), she needs to be more concerned w/ her own Federal investigation trial, which she has refused to cooperate w/, only after she agreed to do so before being selected. Finally, she needs to look at her own grandpa, McShame, and his involvement w/ the SNL crisis.

NO WAY, NO HOW, NO JOHN MCSHAME, AND NO SARAH PATHETIC!!!

    OBAMA/BIDEN '08!!!!!!!

Looks like McCain just lost the election. I was caught in the middle for quite a while, but this about does it. So much for 'avoiding dirty politics' and being a 'reformer'. Obama just got one more swing state voter.

"This is not a man who sees America as you and I do..." You are right, Sarah, Obama is a man who sees America as a country of voters who see through your pandering, lies, and winking. He is a man who offers us hope for change from the horrors of this administration...you offer us nothing but more of the same. You give me nightmares!

When she and McCain loses this election, they should be mocked and shunned for their behavior in this campaign.

    They are disgusting.

After reading enough to make me sick, you know what is really sad, to listen to you McCain Bush Palin haters just bash away. Its not sad to hear what you write, it is sad to know that we live in the "Divided States of America" regardless of what you all say, it is a close race, so that means the country is divided! Do you really think Obama will ever convince the other half of Americans to join him? Can anyone remember when the president had a true majority, and not just a 50/50 or 60/40 split?

McCain is a true American hero. Shame on him for besmirching his own reputation as a national icon and a great statesman. Not only will he lose with this strategy, but he will never reclaim his former honor in the eyes of many Americans with this disgraceful attack. For a man of his caliber, this act is a disservice to all Americans and to himself.

Senator McCain: you're going to lose this election. This is not the worst thing that can happen to you, so I advise you to do so gracefully. I'm not voting for you, but I still want to be able to respect you when this election is over.

It is sad that so many americans could be brainwashed by Obama's empty words. Last time I saw this happen was when GWB was elected. I did not vote for him and will not vote for Obama. The Obama campaign is a cult and I will not be part of it.

CUE UP REV. WRIGHT!!!!!!!!!DON'T FALL FOR IT AMERICA. NO ONE IN AMERICA CAN SAY THEY 100% AGREE WITH THEIR PASTOR, RABBIR ETC, AND IF THEY DO THEY ARE LYING. WE ARE THINKING HUMAN BEINGS WHO ARE ALLOWED TO DISAGREE WITH ONE ANOTHER BUT STILL HAVE THE CAPACITY TO LOVE. IF BARACK OBAMA AGREED WITH EVERY WORD THAT PEOPLE AROUND HIM SAID I WOULD NOT WANT HIM FOR PRESIDENT. THE ABILITY TO HAVE PEOPLE AROUND YOU WITH DIFFERENT OPINIONS AND STILL DRAW YOU OWN CONCLUSIONS IS CALLED FREE WILL. ALL MEN FALL SHORTS OF GOD'S GLORY, THAT IS WHY WE GET UP IN THE MORNING TO TRY AGAIN. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO WORSHIP THE LEADER OF THE CHURCH THE POINT IS FOR YOU TO FIND YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, NOT REV. WRIGHT. WHEN YOU FOLLOW SOMEONE LOCK AND STEP THAT IS A CULT OR MAYBE IT'S JUST JOHN MCSAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Sarah, can you tell us your real vision for the country? If you don't have any, go back to school to learn about national and international issues that our country is dealing with instead of tearing Obama down. You are empty, lack of exerience, don't distract us, tell us why you must elect you and the 72 yr man.

Didn't This Issue Get Raised at Every Step of the Race So Far? I guess Rev. Wright should be making his triumphant return to the airwaves again. It seems like McCain and Co. have finally thrown their hands up and let Sean Hannity run the show.

The American people are more interested in the economy, the environment, health care and the Iraq war than listening to more of the politics of fear and smear. I've spent a summer in Alaska, there are GREAT people there, please don't hold Sarah Palin against the Alaskan people. She should be ashamed to show her face in public with some of the things coming out of her mouth. Is she really that unintelligent to say some of the things she does, or just that immoral?
