Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign.

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

Don't tell me because Obama happened to show up at the same fundraiser as Ayers that you can label him as a terrorist. I'm not that stupid. I've seen what the Republicans have done to me this week. Screw you! I'm supporting the guy who is going to start to get us out of this mess. If we're lucky we can do it in this decade. I'm disgusted with what the Republicans have done to this country!

Its about time people quit being politically correct in regard to Senator Obama. He clearly has sympathies for a number of anti-American groups and countries. If he had his way we would become a colony of Europe.

it is my opinion that the regular news channels shouldn't report anything that comes out of that woman's mouth unless she is engaging in an interview with them.

it is very easy to open your mouth and say anything when you aren't challenged. let's make her engage with the media and the public.

unless obama was out there planting bombs when he was 8 yrs old with this guy, i don't think it relevant.

let's stick to the issues or lets look more closely at troopergate!

    just my opinion.

The adage "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" should be remembered. If you believed the swift boat attacks last time then shame on them but if you believe the baseless attacks this time, shame on you. Read more, read deeper, don't look on any political advertising as truth. Thank you.

Why is the headline this and not, "Palin falsely accuses Obama of having a terrorist connection"?? Anyone who does not bother reading the article will be misled into thinking that Obama has these connections. It is knowing that you folks will cover this nonsense that the GOP can proudly state that they will go negative. Which of course means lying. Why collude with the same old politics?

This woman is a total moron. She is being given scripts and is doing a fine job of reading them...however, they gave her one from months ago. Haven't they already tried to label Obama as a terrorist...of course after they informed us that he was a muslim. They are getting desperate and nasty and I hope the American people can see through their smiles to the evil beneath. GO OBAMA!

While Ayers' activities were detestable, I think its a stretch for McCain to try to somehow make Obama culpable for those acts. After all, I am pretty sure John McCain knows lots of unsavory characters, such as his campaign manager, a man wh lobbied for tyrants and war criminals across the globe. Bill Ayers is not the issue: The economy and the direction of the country is. And McCain still doesn't get it. The only people who will be swayed by this nonsense are those who weren't going to vote for Obama anyway.

“This is someone who sees American as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country.”

I'm sorry, but this is utterly disgraceful and way, way beyond the bounds of acceptable discourse. They should be ashamed, absolutely ashamed.

What does this moose burger eating, caribou hunting, redneck talking woman saying? Just because she didn't act like a deer in headlights during her debate she thinks she can attack somebody. I hope for her sake that there is no October surprise. Since she is so willing to throw punches, I think she can be woman enough to take one. Barack and Biden need to show her why people are tired of these negative attacks at a time when people are wanting for something better.

McCain and Palin really don't have to dig up seedy things on Sen. Obama because his background has so much to find! Depite what the lib loons and a totally biased press have been saying, Sen. Obama's character and qualifications should have automatically disqualified him already, but so many people detested Hillary so much that they settled for this fraud!

Mccain and palin are at an all time low in their ratings. People just don't like them. So, what do they do? Get meaner, more negative, more vindictive and more rude. Yep, that ought to really help them out.

Palin is under a serious ethics probe in Alaska. That alone should be enough for her to keep her from accusing others of anything. But she is not terribly bright, and has been selected as the sacrificial messenger while mccain hides behind her. She gladly accepts this mean-girl role, so I hope she gets the same treatment in return, expecially for her atrocious disregard for the laws in Alaska.

Here it comes. Since Reagan the GOP is unable to win on their own policies. They should be ashamed, they are certainly not following Christian doctrine as is clearly noted in the New Testament Bible. Maybe Palin should read this one book...it would be a good start in her education.

Oh, golly gee, there you Rethuglicans go again, goshdarnit...
The first and only time I donated to a political candidate was when McCain insinuated that Obama was a Socialist. It made me mad, and I gave what little I could because I'm sick right-wing lies, fear and stupidity.

This time, I'm doubling my small contribution. I encourage everyone else to do the same. This is really a sick attack.

Sarah Palin: you are a pig.

30 days people: keep your guard up, and stay focused.
