(CNN) - Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden is cancelling his campaign events for Saturday and Sunday as his mother-in-law battles a serious illness.

The Senator from Delaware's campaign spokesman, David Wade, put out a statement saying "the campaign has cancelled Sen. Biden's schedule today and tomorrow because of a serious illness in Jill Biden's family. Hospice has advised the Bidens to remain close by, and we appreciate everyone's respect for the family's privacy."

Wade is referring to Biden's wife's mother, Bonny Jacobs, who is in a hospice in Pennsylvania.

Biden was scheduled to speak in Washington D.C. and then attend a fund-raiser in the nation's capitol Saturday night. Sunday he was expected to campaign in Virginia.

This is just how brainwashed '0' cult followers are "thoughts & prayers" should be with his mother-in-law not him. '0' cult followers can no longer think straight!

Godspeed to all the Biden family. They have had plenty to deal with lately, with a son deploying for Iraq, a mother ill, and Biden still able to hit it out of the park at the debate. Salt of the earth, baby!

While he is going through all of this, sending his son off to war, dealing with illness of his mother-in-law, the McCain campaign is
calling him a liar in the debates. The people are sick of this smear .

God bless you Senator Biden! You are indeed a saint with all you
have had to carry on your shoulders.

  19. CNN censors the comments it wishes to show

The focus of this article is NOT on McCain's preparation for the debate, it is about the fact that he is going to e "resort" which for some (obvious CNN) reason seems to be newsworthy.

Of course, CNN chooses to ignore the extreme extravagance that Obama has in every step of his campaign – like his PALATIAL, supersized, super fuel using, super emissions emitting campaign jumbo jet, complete with egotistical "Obama presidential seal". How presumptuous this elitist is, and how meaningless his behavior renders McCain's weekend visit to a "resort".

A conforting presence can go a long way on the road to recovery.

The Dems message of change resonate a lot with average American this year that the movement, the becon of light will continue to shine throughout America.

Nevertheless, your presence is indispensable. Above all else, I wish her a speedy recovery.

    Obama/Biden 08/12.

Biden seems like a good man. too bad for democrats he's not at the top of the ticket. He also knows Obama isn't qualified. check out his debates with Obama on youtube. revealing and sad.
Biden's too good for Obama. Hope all is well with his family.
