New Obama ad tries to focus nation's attention on the economy

The Obama campaign released another Sunday that has economic themes.

The Obama campaign released another Sunday that has economic themes.

(CNN) – With a month until Election Day, the Obama campaign is trying keep voters’ attention focused on their pocketbooks and retirement savings accounts.

In “This Year,” the latest in a string of Obama ads with economic themes, the Democratic nominee uses images of locked factory gates and anxiety on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. “Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy,” the ad says as images of Sen. John McCain getting off an airplane and riding a golf cart appear on screen.

The commercial comes amid talk of McCain preparing to adopt a more aggressive strategy in the final month of the general election campaign, first reported Saturday in the Washington Post.

“Struggling families can’t turn the page on this economy,” the ad says.

The McCain campaign has not responded to CNN's request for comment about "This Year."

The new ad will begin airing Monday on national cable outlets, according to the Obama campaign.

(Full script after the jump)

Script, "This Year," 30 seconds, national cable:

ANNCR: Three quarters of a million jobs lost this year.

Our financial system in turmoil.

And John McCain? Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy.

No wonder his campaign’s announced a plan to “turn a page on the financial crisis”…distract with dishonest, dishonorable “assaults” against Barack Obama.

Struggling families can’t turn the page on this economy…and we can’t afford another President who’s this out of touch.

Obama: I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.

    To Democrats Trust McCain:
I guess you're not going to let facts, evidence, or truth stand in the way of what's obvious – .yes, Sen. Obama is black. You can use whatever excuse you want but you cannot fabricate evidence to support you claim that he is a terrorist sympathizer.

I've seen the emails and know the code words: "over-educated" – whatever that means. "over-qualified" – surely you wouldn't want a President who is highly qualified. "unexperienced." – as opposed to Palin who could be President if McCain should die?

It all amounts to one thing: yes, Sen. Obama is black but you don't want to admit that's the reason you oppose him. He is the best educated, the most qualified, and has 7 years of experience in the IL Senate and taught constitutional law for 12 years. McCain supports the same policies that have practically destroyed our economy and International reputation so I don't care if Sen. Obama is black, purple, green, or turquoise. He's the best choice to be our next President.

This is to the Fake"Democrats trust McCAin"–
Sir/Madam, you were and never will be a democrat-
Mr. Ayers is a Professor who had made previous mistakes in his life, but is clean, sober educated member of our society– unlike a lot of you– Mr. Obama is a sound, decent, intelligent, understanding human being who will be the President of our countr– SO BE RESPECTFUL or move to Saudi Arabia (Mr. Bush and McCain have alot of like-minded friends there).

As a fellow veteran I am absolutely ashamed with John Mccains new tactics. Trying to use something such as terrorist ties is a VERY SERIOUS accusation. You had better be able to back that up with more than just a weak magazine article. This kind of non-issue, personal attacks only show me more how John Mccain and Sarah Palin are neither ready to lead this country and only ultimately have a seemingly personal goal to make it into the white-house. What ever happen to that STRAIT TALK express?? It seems more like the VAGUE TALK express. I was a registered republican when I watched the Republican National Convention. After seeing a party I didn't recognize, and hearing Palins ridiculous speech, I and my wife went and registered as independents. With such transparent attacks like these, both of our votes has been solidified for Obama/Biden. I only hope more people see through this smoke screen and keep a clear eye on the real issues!

    "Obama , Is A Terrorist Sympathizer ."

You should be more worried about your grammar usage than some false charge from a campaign that has become increasingly desperate.

"You Obama Talk — BUSH,BUSH. Stop it. The same -BUSH. I love to see Bush 4 more years than 1 day of Obama."

ALLAN you are such a fool. rather than give this guy a chance you would rather risk the same ole politics for another 4 years??????? racism is alive and well because if Obama was an inexperience white guy(George W Bush) he would be crowned victorious today.

His ‘Straight Talk’ motto seems to have no principlies anymore.
The McCain campaign is embarrasingly unethical and dishonest. To think a man who at one time was ruined, hurt, and violated by the same tactics used on him. Rove and other campaign managers blasted McCains reputation and he has chosen to sell his soul. This is not the MCcain this country once knew.. What a pity..Please vote for real CHANGE with Obama/Biden

Another turd from the McLiar/Air-like totally! Gosh!-Headed One ticket–no integrity, no policy, no ideas, no brains, no guts, no anything. Nothing to offer the nation. Pretty bad when John "honest" McSame has to resort to these despicable lies to try and win some votes. Someone should remind McShame about his involvement in the Keating 5 S&L debacle. 21,000 elderly people were fleeced out of their savings.

Allan, bat-242–please remember to start taking your meds again and no being boisterous or you won't get any jello!!

Mrs. Palin totally disregards the ninth commandment ,

"Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

It is amazing how these Christians tell lies and have no pangs of conscience. Apparantly the HOLY SPIRIT does not abide in them.

Mrs Palin felt it necessary to have the "spirit of witch-craft" exorcised from her. It is easier to blame some "evil spirit " rather than accepting responsibility for one's own actions.

Honestly.. the McStain campaign announcing they want to 'turn the page' on the economic crisis is about as politically damaging to his campaign as publicly declaring that you would attack pakistan.. oh wait..

  13. DEFINITION OF ERRATIC “3 a: characterized by lack of consistency, regularity, or uniformity”. FOR AND EXAMPLE SEE GEEZER/GIDGET’S CAMPAIGN LURCHING FROM REST STOP TO RESTOP IN THE “LIARS EXPRESS”!

First there was the Georgia drama and photo op.

Second there was the Gustav drama and photo op.

Third there was the fly-in to D.C. to accomplish absolutely nothing but screw up the negotiations.

The only two things McCrypt is consistent on:

We have all seen McCrypt’s Superman suit and it shows his man breasts, his comb over overcombed his Depends pantyline and his limp cape!

McCrypt tells the Poor Old Warrior story for the 4,157,819th time.

Pretty sad when the campaign can be summed up in two lines!

I refuse to vote for another candidate who can't pronounce "nuclear." It's "nu-cle-ar", Governor Palin. And I'm not into 6-packs and winking, either.

Any candidate who's strategy is not to tell you what they can do but deomixe their opponent doesn't deserve a single vote. MCCain is not equipped to present a strategy for today's challenges, he's a Liar with no morals. If elected two things can be sure, one a depression and 2)WW IIII. He doesn't have Presidential tempermentand we'll see one hell of an evacuation from America if this LIAR should somehow win.

It's truly amazing to me that in a nation that claims to be, by many, the 'greatest nation in the world' , we have leaders who lack such integrity and common decency. It would deeply concern me to have an administration that landed in the White House by way of negative attacks that are not just misleading, but simply IGNORANT. The intelligence lacking in this country is outstanding; Thankfully, some of us can recognize good character.

Here's to acquiring good sense in the White House

Tucker Bounds just lied to the nation on behalf of John McCain.

According to Bounds, McCain & Palin are going to tell the truth! I wonder when that will start since they have been lying from the word "GO".

McCain/Palin – we can't fix the economy, but we will lie our fool heads off to get you to vote for us.

Of course McCain is erratic. Just look at his actions in the midst of the near economic meltdown we had this past week. Action speaks louder than words.

And for those of you who are talking about Obama being a terrorist sympathizer, DON'T EVEN GO THERE. Do you want the crap about the Alaskan Independence Party and the "first dude" and your beloved Gov. on the highlight again?
