New Obama ad tries to focus nation's attention on the economy

The Obama campaign released another Sunday that has economic themes.

The Obama campaign released another Sunday that has economic themes.

(CNN) – With a month until Election Day, the Obama campaign is trying keep voters’ attention focused on their pocketbooks and retirement savings accounts.

In “This Year,” the latest in a string of Obama ads with economic themes, the Democratic nominee uses images of locked factory gates and anxiety on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. “Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy,” the ad says as images of Sen. John McCain getting off an airplane and riding a golf cart appear on screen.

The commercial comes amid talk of McCain preparing to adopt a more aggressive strategy in the final month of the general election campaign, first reported Saturday in the Washington Post.

“Struggling families can’t turn the page on this economy,” the ad says.

The McCain campaign has not responded to CNN's request for comment about "This Year."

The new ad will begin airing Monday on national cable outlets, according to the Obama campaign.

(Full script after the jump)

Script, "This Year," 30 seconds, national cable:

ANNCR: Three quarters of a million jobs lost this year.

Our financial system in turmoil.

And John McCain? Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy.

No wonder his campaign’s announced a plan to “turn a page on the financial crisis”…distract with dishonest, dishonorable “assaults” against Barack Obama.

Struggling families can’t turn the page on this economy…and we can’t afford another President who’s this out of touch.

Obama: I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.

Not only are McCain/Palin reprehensible and power hungry, I just can't imagine either of them dealing with our Global Family. Economy matters but my greater fear is that these 2 bozos would start WW111.

Obama has focused plenty on the economy for me. Raising my taxes sure won't help my family, "patriotic" or not. He has lost my vote!

mr Obama stole his economy program from Germany.

Germany's post war Miracle economy is what Obama is pawing off as his economy policy.

There are many flaws to his idea of using the German economy plan.

The circumstances way back then and now are Different.

The Fact the Germans had to pay nothing in Defense is one reason it worked. (Does Obama plan on dropping all our defense)

We all know Obama's want to make the North American Union also.

Which would not be feasible at this time, with the economy the Democrats created.

The bail out paying off all their rich friends and recouping their losses, Gaining the banks to be own by the government played right into their play book. It will be easier for them to nationalize the rest of the business in this country.

This is the United States of America, This is the Country we love, We love our Freedoms and will not give them up.

Mr obama is throwing the economy up to take the eyes of the country and world off him and his friend Ayers. He usally makes major ploys when he wants to drown out something or change the subject.

It does not matter what he wants, All of his life long personal friends hate America, the American Government, Mr Obama says he is Changing govenmrnt, which is somthing that should never happen.
Pluse his economy plan is directly taken from Germany.

Enough to be evident that this man should never have the opportunity to get in any high power in this government.

The Geezer/Gidget ticket is showing how desperate they have become by digging up old issues that have been talked to death months ago. This sounds like the name-calling that goes on on the school playground. Why won't McSame tell us how HE will make the country better, instead of falling back on his worn-out tactic of trying to tell us Obama is the boogeyman?

Miss Howdy (Palin) need to be more concerned about what's happening now with Trooper Gate and her behavior than something that occured when Obama was 8 years old. Give us some credit for having common sense to know our economy is front and center!

Yes sir-ree jo you better know it to be so-–VOTE to Save America from stupidity of repeating 8 more years. I think that is the 8 we are more concerned with! By Golly Miss Sarah.

My faith tells me to treat others as we wish to be treated. I am a bit upset that Palin is now saying that Obama is palling around with a terrorist. Obama was 8 yrs old when those acts were committed.

So Pallin would like for socieity to not forgive a man for acts he committed in the 1960s. Should we apply Palins way of thinking to Mr Mccains wife... wasnt she a drug addict, and admits that she stole drugs. Does Mr Mccain hang around her? If we all thought as palin does.. then this would apply.
I am happy I dont think as she does... but I wanted to proove a point.
Its a desparate act to win a campaign, based on hatred and fear.
    IT is time for change.

To Allan, Why do you hate America so much? Four more years of Bush and the country would cease to exist as a democracy. Maybe it already does. You clowns have to stop listening to right wing propaganda and discover that we are in the worst economic times since the Depression, thanks to the likes of Reagan, Bush I and Bush II. McCain and Palin are not the answer to a better America. Get used to it!!

OUTRAGE! what the heck do these people thing we are?fools?i am a republican, i liked Mccain but i am at this point left wioth no option than to go OBAMA. I know it is not strenge to politic in a time like this but htis is not the time. We criticise him of his eradic moves last week, he did not listen, he criticised him of his all porpulous stance instead of countering them with a plan he still does not get it.why then should any republican be proud to speak? Our conservative values are being strench and Mccian is now even more of a radical than a liberal so why should a trust him since he said he is not running as a republican but as Mccian.Know what?i think the charge Mcsame is not sufficient enough Mcworse than Mcsame. No vision of r the nation, no economic plan , no plan for Iraq and yet he wants more to go and die over there?what are we gaining? He should be ready to go to the heel of Pakistan and Afganinstan and get this guy.why can he not prove he is able to do that?He is lost in the middle of all things.Verdict he doesn't get it.I go Obama he gets it and i need releave not hate or lies.we need change and honesty on the political scene is part of it.
Why should Obama pay for the sins of Ayers when the fact is the thing happened when Obama was 8 years. As a young white guy i say racism is not part of our generation and i think Mcain should have learned from Paris Hilton.

To think that voters would reject Obama because of some tenuous "seven-degrees-of-separation" connection to some 60's radical and yet embrace Sarah "my husband was a member of a party calling for the secession of Alaska from the U.S." Palin would be absolutely laughable if they weren't spending U.S. tax dollars to do it.

Hey McCain. Suspend your campaign, return your campaign funds to the Treasury, and go chase those kids out your yard.

I am a devout Republican. I have never voted Democratic until now. John McCain has proven to be an empty shell of lies and deception, just like Bush. I am ebarrased and ashamed about having been fooled into voting for Bush back in 2000,2004. NEVER AGAIN, will i fall for the fear campaign. My children and their future is too important to me to vote on ignorance this time around. While Barack Obama is not perfect, he has surrounded himself with experienced leaders hwo will take back this country and put it back on the right track. I am completely convinced of this.

My fellow Republicans, if you truly care about your children and grandchildren, there is only one way to vote this election.. The Democratic ticket and Barack Obama.

Dozens of my Republican friends have already made the switch to the Democratic ticket and Im sure many more will before the Nov election.

We care more about our children and country than we do about an empty hollow Republican ticket full of embarrasing lies and deceptions..

Mccain and his leashed pitbull are desperate...They can not speak to the issues so they TRY to change the subject...to personal destruction...and dirty politics...Mccain is the same a Bush...He voted to raise taxes 106 times...His only topic is WAR WAR WAR...and in that he was a collaborater in 3 days with the Vietcong....Made 30m tapes and was treated with defference by them after he broke in less than a week...

The best thing about this election year is that the problems caused by the sitting administration is being revealed while they are still in office. There's nothing the GOP can do about it.

Now I'm off to to help turn Virginia blue by knocking on doors.
