Obama campaign rejects Palin 'terrorist' gibe

Gov. Palin said Saturday that Sen. Obama sees America as 'imperfect.'
Gov. Palin said Saturday that Sen. Obama sees America as 'imperfect.'

(CNN) - Barack Obama's campaign has quickly rejected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's claim that he associated "with terrorists who targeted our own country."

Palin attacked Sen. Obama on Saturday for his brief political relationship with Bill Ayers, a founding member of the radical Weather Underground, which was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including attacks on the Pentagon and the Capitol. Obama was a child at the time of the bombings.

Obama and Ayers, now a university professor, have met several times since 1995, when both orked with a non-profit group trying to raise funds for a school improvement project and a haritable foundation. CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything nappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

A CNN Fact Check found Palin's charge to be false.

The McCain camp uses the irrationality of Sarah to gain ground. But it won't work. We, the American people who strive f or a perfect Union, need to know the involvement of Sarah Palin and his husband in the Alska Independence Party.

America do not get distracted by some petty issues. Barack Obama has no connection with William Ayers like the republican try to make you believe. They are lying to you for your vote. This is not going to fix the economy. For those who say that Barack is Muslim, I want them to know that Barack is a water baptise christian.

Everyone know that this kind of nasty tactic of McCain-Palin is FALSE and has been debunked many times. But I guess if one has an evil heart, if one is unqualified to be VP and president, and whose campaign is in the toilet; then I guess it's the only thing one can try to dig up. So if they want to focus their attention and energy in this direction, then I hope ALL of the AMerican people will completely reject them.

This not news to us, this is the only platform they have left.......what a sad reflection of their campaign.
John McCain was all for STRAIGHT TALK...NO SLEAZE.....what happened there we ask......the truth is John McCain knows he is flogging a dead horse here and is grasping at straws!!!!
Mr Maverick McCain and Mrs Gosh Darn Sarah have no credibility anymore, people are beginning to see them both for what they are...just political opportunists......who revert to lies and continue to say them even when proved to be so.
This country deserves better than that, we have had lies, scandal after scandal, and a government who has totally lost it's way.....to use John McCains latest gimmick......change is coming....change is coming and by heaven it is coming in the form of Senator Obama.

What amazes me is that there may actually be people (like "Ohio for McCain" and "Cosmos Rocks") who may be swallowing this drivel. Some people get so involved in stupid ideology and political labels that they forget to actually step back and use their brain. For 2008, Obama clearly has the more forward-looking and well thought out ideas for the real problems of this country (the economy, a trillion dollar war of choice, jobs, health care, energy, on and on). McCain is just not the guy this year and there are no words to describe how foolish Palin and her supporters are.

Let's see who Sarah pals around with: big oil interests, ministers that believe in witchcraft, former Bush campaign advisors. Or maybe John's friends like Charles Keating, Phil "Americans are a bunch of whiners" Gramm, lobbyists for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who run his campaign. Their friends are economic terrorists who have pillaged the financial system in this country for their own benefit and then move their spoils off-shore so we can't get the money back.

It's just more of the same.

Ugh. I cannot believe that they're are stooping this low. But, on the bright side, they can't attack Obama on anything relevant to issues, so they have to reach so much to barely get anything.

They're just sad and desperate. Palin's a joke with a separatist cuckolded huband, who believes in witches and that Alaska is some sort of end times haven. She's a kook and a fear-mongering racist. So Palin:
    See You Next Tuesday.

With all the news that is going on, why is CNN pushing this as their lead story?

It seems like McCain isn't the only ones out of touch with mainstream America.

That was a dumb thing to say, sarah! The American people are crying about the economy. Why don't you focus your attention on that and maybe the poll figures may shift your way. I 'm a 1st time voter and i'm looking for which presidential candidate who remains fixed on the issues that affect my pocket book.

Ok, so let me get this right. Bill Ayers is a terrorist, but he's walking around parks in Chicago? Sarah Palin should go perform a citizens arrest if she's so worried about it.

If he's a terrorist, why isn't he in gitmo being tortured?

This is shameful. I can't believe John McCain is ruining his reputation and his legacy at his age. His years of service will always be overshadowed by the surrealism and scandal of this election cycle.

Palin's lie is beyond reprehensible. She owes Senator Obama an immediate apology. There are just some lines you don't cross, and I think Palin crossed one by accusing a United States Senator of "palling around with terrorists".

Palin targets Obama as a guy who pals around with terrorists. She needs to look no further than her own bed to find a husband who belonged for seven years to a party whose sole platform was to place a referendum on the Alaska ballot that would allow Alaska to secede from the United States of America. I cannot believe that more Americans and more of the news media are not talking about this.

Palin's husband was a member of a group that wanted to secede (separate) from the USA. It is shocking that no one talks about this!

McCain & Palin showing their real "Christian" side. Makes me ill, spreading horrible lies about Obama but I guess because their plan of change is non-existent (been waiting to hear what it is) they have to do something to try & appeal to the uneducated folks of America. I was undecided but no more, McCain & Palin have both proven their unworthiness of the office. I thought they were folks of honor & integrity, my mistake and I'm truly ashamed of both of them.
