Obama campaign rejects Palin 'terrorist' gibe

Gov. Palin said Saturday that Sen. Obama sees America as 'imperfect.'

(CNN) - Barack Obama's campaign has quickly rejected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's claim that he associated "with terrorists who targeted our own country."

Palin attacked Sen. Obama on Saturday for his brief political relationship with Bill Ayers, a founding member of the radical Weather Underground, which was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including attacks on the Pentagon and the Capitol. Obama was a child at the time of the bombings.

Obama and Ayers, now a university professor, have met several times since 1995, when both orked with a non-profit group trying to raise funds for a school improvement project and a haritable foundation. CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything nappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

A CNN Fact Check found Palin's charge to be false.

it's so sad that Palin has to attack Obama on something she knows nothing about.
Ayers was a radical back in sixties and now has changed his life around and is a good citizen.
Why can't people realize how many war protestors were back than.
That war was less popular than Iraq.
this is sad for all the Republicans that this is the best they can come up with.
Face it you have nothing bad to say about Obama so you have to bring up old stuff.
Concentrate about economy.......... oh..... that's right you don't know anything about that.

Now that it has been proven false, let's see if Gov. Palin continues to repeat this odious comment which once again is a Republican tactic to attack another opponent's patriotism.

    Gloves

    To Senator Barrack Obama:
It is time for you to take the gloves off. Along while ago I respected Senator Mr. McCain. No more. Your opponent Mr. McCain distorts facts or even simply lies. He is with out honor. He is twofaced, talks out of two side of his mouth and simply makes too many flip-flops. His mealy mouth running mate Governor Mrs. Sarah Palin only advertises with a shrill and grating voice her ignorance. Her strength lies in making fun of other people and spewing insulting jabs. She thinks she is successful and dynamic when her ill conceived sarcasm elicits laughs and chuckles in the audience.

To the credit of most Americans the republicans’ dishonest campaigning tactics have been recognized. The Americans deserve an honest Government that represents the people. Senator Barrack Obama, fight fair, fight hard, Call a Spade a Spade.

Take your gloves off. Do it now!

CNN fact check has found this McCain and Palin claim to be false...imagine that!! It's the same old republican routine, throw as many lies as possible out there, in as short a time as possible and even though they're lies some of them will stick..... Reminds me of the old saying, "if their lips are moving they are lying"....and these people have the audacity to accuse others of not being patriotic!!

Obama should reject her comments. Todd Palin actually belonged to the Alaska Independence Party, according to their records. She attended two of their conventions and, as Governor, addressed one of them. So, by her logic, because she is married to the man who belonged to an organization that has a goal of seceding from the U.S. and has a slogan of Alaska First, Alaska Always, it makes her a secessionist too.

I now see what the difference is between Obama and Palin, it is a fact that he was a child when Ayres was suppost to have committed these crimes of the times. Do you know that old saying, you can be a child once, but inmature forever. Well Obama grew up and palin is still a child. who is paying politic with her senile daddy mccain. But , in defense of mccain, I think he has forgotten about his dirt.

She has shown her true colors, there goes the straight talk motto, sarah Palin and Mccain and his sickening campaign disgust me and will go down in history as the worst most dispicable campaign in U.S history.

Anyone who can't understand that Obama was EIGHT YEARS OLD when Ayers was affiliated with that radical group, and who can't understand that by the time Obama met him, Ayers was part of the Chicago poltiical machine and a widely respected professor at a reputable institution, is probably too dumb or partisan to have the hope of a real opinion.

THINK, people. Does no one see the irony that Palin, at the debate, claimed that it's old history to link McCain and his voting record to the sitting president –which is CURRENT EVENTES–even as she tries to hold Obama responsible for the actions of another person from 40 years ago? When he was 8?

of course you found nothing wrong...you are really determined to appoint obama as president just as you appointed him as candidate. when you decide to be fair and un biased maybe people will watch your network again. until then you will continue to go down the drain.

So Obama at the age of 8, befriended a 23 year old member of an anti-war group that was declared terrorist (does not surprise me).

And Sarah Palin at the age of 44 is married to a 44 years old member of the Alaska seperatist party.

I wonder which one is more unpatriot. An 8 year old befriending a member of anti-war group that was declared terrorist, or a 44 year old marrying to a seperatist.

I'm sure this is just the beginning of the mud-slinging by the McCain campaign. They're not getting any traction with the issues so the smear campaign begins. Over the next month, we'll see a lot of innuendos, hints, and just flat out lies. The more desperate the McCain campaign gets, the worse the mud-slinging will be... so much for the Straight Talk Express...

Kinda sad to see McCain sell his soul just to win... especially when he suffered these same type of attacks from Bush back in 2000. What a difference 8 years makes...

    McCain 2008 =/= McCain 2000

The only reason Gov Palin is trying hard to tie Senator Obama to Corruption is because of her term as Alaska's time as govenor she use her office as a bully pullpit. In which she as excepted money from bigh oil committed tax fraud and even had sex with her husband business partner. This lady is not qualified to be VP nonless Govenor of Alaska she has not been properly vetted yet...

Good luck John McCain she is pulling you down, down , down...

Stay focused on your vision for leading America out of the wilderness of teh last 8 years, Senator Obama. We, the people, know what desperate lengths the McCain/Palin campaign will go to, and it will be rejected. Do get down in the gutter with them.

Old news – this was already vetted – McCain's campaign is desperate and will be trying more "swift boat" tactics as they go through the next couple weeks.

At least Obama has never aspired to be a dictator like McCain said last weekend.

Clearly Senator McCain and Governor Palin have nothing substantive to offer the American public, only lies to scare people into voting for them. My advice to supporters of Senator Obama: keep working towards his victory. The polls might be looking good for Obama now but the one taken on November 4th is the only one that counts and it can be expected that the Republicans will pull every dirty trick they have to win.

Thank you Sarah !!! After 45 years of having to listen to a republican mother-in-law, she called last night and said she's not going to listen to any more lies from her party. Just in time, too. She's switching to DEM tomorrow – the last day to "register" (although she's only officially switching parties)!!

    Thank you Sarah!!!!

Can they or she talk about important issues anh how they will get us oot the bad situation we are in now or this is going to be the talk from now to election day?

It would be nice if the media...and the powers that be would be very specific about the charges Palin made being absolutely undeniably false. It should be made clear that Palin is LYING to the American people when she says things like this. I know Obama wants to stay above the fray, but I would like to see him call her and McCain out on their lies with some force.
