A new poll shows Obama ahead in New Mexico.

(CNN) - A new poll out Monday shows Barack Obama holding a slight advantage over John McCain in New Mexico, one of the most closely-fought presidential battlegrounds in the last two election cycles.

According to the new survey from the Albuquerque Journal, Obama holds a 5-point lead over the Arizona senator there, 45 percent to 40 percent, with 15 percent still undecided. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

The state narrowly voted for Al Gore in 2000, and for George Bush in 2004. CNN’ Electoral Map considers New Mexico to be "leaning Obama” this year.

    Fantastic!

This is America's response to the negative, non-issue based, divisive, smear-laden, Bush-like campaign of The Original Mavericks – John McCain and Sarah Palin!

    Americans want answers and unity.

McCain and Palin can only bring cover-ups and division!

One by one, the battlegrounds are shifting.

By most predicted counts, Obama is only a handful of electoral votes away from having 270...and to be honest, considering how McCain's been doing lately, I doubt that the old guy will be getting any of them back.

Traditionally Catholic New Mexico has a big decision to make : will it be pro-life McCain, or pro-choice Obama ?

Polls or no polls, keep it up Obama. America is beginning to wake up to McCain/Palin's crap. Ayers, Wright, that is all they've got. They can't talk about the issues so they will sling mud.

Take it all the way to the White House Obama. We've got your back.
