(CNN) - A new poll out Monday shows Barack Obama holding a slight advantage over John McCain in New Mexico, one of the most closely-fought presidential battlegrounds in the last two election cycles.
According to the new survey from the Albuquerque Journal, Obama holds a 5-point lead over the Arizona senator there, 45 percent to 40 percent, with 15 percent still undecided. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

I'm a conservative Republican, and I'm here to set the record straight. I work in the brokerage business, and I have a lot of friends and clients I talk to every day. They are Republicans like me, and none of us are voting for McCain. We don't know anyone who is...After McCain slammed us over Wall St, calling us greedy? No way. I can't vote for Obama, but I can't vote for McCain after what he did to us. Nobody I know is supporting McCain anymore. And another thing...Palin is a complete idiot, and even the most die-hard Republican knows that. So enjoy it Dems...we'll be back in 4 years (and we'll bring a real candidate with us next time).
I'll be so glad when this whole mess is over. Obama did his best to stay on the high road but obviously McCain and his pit bull can't restrain themselves from dragging the election into the mud. America and New Mexico don't need more negative ads and it won't change the minds of thinking Americans. We unfortunately learned that the hard way from W's Rove politics. According to vietnamveteransagainst johnmccain he crashed into Corpus Christi Bay while practicing landings and crashed into some power lines when he was stationed in the Mediterranean. We all know about his crash in combat in North Vietnam and his heroic resistance as
a prisoner of war, but that does not show he would provide steady leadership on the ship of state. His zig-zag performance over the last two week of economic crisis shows he is still the old McCain. His experience is no better than Rumsfeld's. Obama is the steady one.
While our economy is in trouble, McCain-Palin would rather focus on character propaganda.

It is becomeing clear that McCain and Palin were selected to be the scapegoats for the REPUBLICAN PARTY. Noyte how fast the other cadidates pulled out and left McCain holding the BAG.
