Palin: 'I was just trying to keep Tina Fey in business'

Gov. Palin said she was trying to provide 'job security to SNL writers.'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said Monday her recent underwhelming interview performances were intended to provide “job security to SNL writers,” as she continued to escalate the pace of attacks on Barack Obama’s character.

Watch: How SNL combines politics and humor

“I was just trying to keep Tina Fey in business,” joked the Alaska governor.

At a Florida campaign event, Palin brought up one of her less-successful media moments - her failure to respond to a question from CBS’s Katie Couric about her regular sources of news — as a segue into an attack on Obama. “There’s been a lot of interest in what I read lately,” she told the crowd.

Watch: Tina Fey impersonates Palin

“Well, I was reading my copy of The New York Times the other day, and I was really interested to read about Barack’s friends from Chicago. Turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers. And according to The New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol,’” Pain said.

She added later that Obama is “someone who sees America as ‘imperfect enough’ to work with a former domestic terrorist who targeted his own country.”

Ms. Palin has no substance to any comment and people need to understand that this is not a joke or a beauty padgent. We need leaders not cute ladies with cute comments. You betcha!!!

In case you didn’t notice, Tina Fey’s career is not in need of any help.

Yeah sure....hate to be the one to break it to ya, but Tina Fey was doning well for herself before you stumbled onto the scene. The last time I checked she was a multiple Emmy award winner before she starting portraying the walking comedy routine that is known as Sarah Palin!

If she really read that article she would have never made this statement.

    Dear Sarah,

    YOUR JUST A PROP!!!!!!

  6. Palin & McCain - the new Bonnie & Clyde

Palin is disrespectful and self-serving to challenge Biden to another debate while he is out dealing with the death of his mother-in-law.

Maybe she ought to read the page of the NYT where she is being investigated for illegally firing a state trooper. Oh, and did you read the page that documents your membership of the Alaska Independence Party?

Probably the first time she's read the NYT. I'm guessing she's more of a USA Today "hard news" kind of gal. Moron.

$100 says she does not have a copy of the NYT. She may get press clippings fed to her but I doubt she even gets those. She may have read this one article but has not held a newspaper in her hands unless she was using someone else's paper to wrap a fish.

You tell them, Sarah. About time Nobama is getting vetted. Too bad the main stream media failed to do it's job. The DNC selected this joker and kicked Hillary to the curb. Hillary was by far the stronger of the two and we all know about her baggage.
I hope you and John take Nobama down, he needs to answer a lot of questions that have been lurking for over a year.

  10. Disgusted By McCain and Palin

Sarah Palin and John McCain have become complete and total jokes. They have no plan to ease the economic crisis and no desire to talk about the issues actually affecting Americans. They have become caricatures of themselves: erratic, incompetent, and out of touch.

Did anyone watch Hannity last night on Fox? Check his show out on Obama's radical ties. I hope CNN looks into the money trail and connection Obama has with terrorist organizations. Please CNN, be objective and check out Hannity's facts.

How many times are you going to print what she said about Obama and his 'Chicago friends' without printing the fact check saying that it's not true?

As Tina Fey put it herself, hopefully she'll be finished playing the role of Sarah Palin on November 4th.

Tina has more qualifications than Palin does. If Palin was a "real" woman, she would not allow herself to be a puppet, spewing negative comments about Sen. Obama that are absolutely not true. She needs to get her facts right before she opens up her obnoxcious mouth.

With Palin's well-worn and thoroughly debunked insinuations about Ayers, at least we now know who has been behind (or at least taken up the mantle of) the "anonymous" internet smear campaign against Obama. McCain and Palin aren't about to let a little thing like "facts" get in the way of the Double-Talk Express.

CNN Why do you keep showing the footage of Palin spouting her proven lies about Ayers and Afghanistan over and over. You just perpetuate the lie.
