Palin: 'I was just trying to keep Tina Fey in business'

Gov. Palin said she was trying to provide 'job security to SNL writers.'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said Monday her recent underwhelming interview performances were intended to provide “job security to SNL writers,” as she continued to escalate the pace of attacks on Barack Obama’s character.

Watch: How SNL combines politics and humor

“I was just trying to keep Tina Fey in business,” joked the Alaska governor.

At a Florida campaign event, Palin brought up one of her less-successful media moments - her failure to respond to a question from CBS’s Katie Couric about her regular sources of news — as a segue into an attack on Obama. “There’s been a lot of interest in what I read lately,” she told the crowd.

Watch: Tina Fey impersonates Palin

“Well, I was reading my copy of The New York Times the other day, and I was really interested to read about Barack’s friends from Chicago. Turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers. And according to The New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol,’” Pain said.

She added later that Obama is “someone who sees America as ‘imperfect enough’ to work with a former domestic terrorist who targeted his own country.”

Obama playing smear politics while at the same time accusing McCain of using smear tactics. Is this is the change we need? Obama is just the same old Washington politician, nothing new. He will do and say anything to win the election. Fact Check: Obama is pals with terrorist Bill Ayers, a man with a history of being at wars with america.

Does this mean she will challenge Biden to another debate since she won the last one?

That way she can get into more of a discussion with Senator Biden on the issues that matter.

  4. TINA FEY IS A PRETTIER SARAH PALIN THAN SARAH PALIN!

So does that make Tina the defacto winner of the Miss Wasilla Beauty Pageant or first runner-up?

This coming from someone who's currently under investigation is laughable. What's not funny is that McCain would place Palin on the ticket despite her legal troubles. Not smart.

Have we ever had a candidate under investigation while running for one of the top two jobs in America?

Tina Fey's impersonation of Sarah Palin is just icing on Fey's cake. Her Emmy-winning resume was already padded as it is. Even Fey herself has said she does not wish to continue impersonating Sarah Palin.

Perhaps Palin should focus on her own job security... as governor of Alaska.

Rick, you're quoting and trusting Hannity as a reliable source?
that's just laughable and comical in FAR too many ways.

all those "radical ties" have been disproven by MANY sources..

    move along...

I'm sick and tired of people claiming that Obama has ties to terrorist organizations. If we go off that theory, I can't run for political office because my aunt used to be a black panther. That's some bull. I'm disappointed that people say dumb things like this. Now, Palin, just go away.

Rick said: Be objective and check out Hannity's facts.

Did you miss what was wrong with the statement you just made? Hannity is about as impartial as McCain himself.

I'm surprised Ayers hasn't filed a defamation suit agianst Palin or Hannity. The man was cleared. Get over it. If there were any actual ties, he would have been prosecuted and he wouldn't be a college professor.

I think CNN and the logical, rational, thinking world has investigated this and found that the allegations are thoroughly false.

I'm sure we've all worked with some unsavory characters before. Since McCain can't run on his own record, he'd rather dig up the past. Which probably isn't a good thing for him. KEATING 5!!

Sarah, girllfriend...you read the New York Times? (wink wink). In that case then please do try to understand what you're reading before you open your mouth as you are making a mockery of yourself okay? And lastly don't do Tina Fey or the writers in SNL a favor...actually they are doing us a favor at your expense. You just happen to be the flavor of the month to be picked on but don't worry, after Nov 4th, you can go back to Alaska and finish that Bridge to Nowhere and we'd be forgetting ya!

Palin is not too smart – her lack-of-knowledge really showed through her debate with Biden. And her performance was really bad, considering how sarcastic she came across, acting like she knew everything, but yet, got a lot of things wrong.

With that said, who cares about Palin's false and over exaggerated comments.

Did palin finish the article? The article clearly says that no objective reading of the public record supports her claim. Did she read the fact check where it says her statements are false, misleading and a clear distortion of the facts?
