You know what would be nice? Hearing Sarah Palin actually answer a question she's asked instead of going off a rant starting with "John McCain and I..."!!!

If Palin won't give an interview, why is CNN giving her any air time? Using CNN as her forum is a great opportunity for her. But she hasn't earned it. I won't watch this nonsense any more. Until she sits down to talk with reporters from CNN, she shouldn't be heard on CNN. Stop being used.

Did anyone hear the smart Palin refer to Afganistan as our neighboring country? And to take Albright out of context only means that she can't read either!

I am an undecided independent. One thing is sure, Sarah Palin's smear campaign turns me off. I am not voting for McCain anymore because of her lack of qualification and her relentless personal attacks.

"You will know their names...I will make them famous" - Apparently, just another example of 'Say Anything, Do Nothing, MeFirst, Politician in Washington who is sacraficing his every moral code to simply get elected.

Fact is, America is sick & tired of this game that the GOP ticket is playing and is making a stand against the greed and corruption that is disguised as a republican presidential campaign. Country First? What a JOKE! This Texan is ready for change! Obama/Biden.

C'mon all, get out to the polls and send a clear message that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

I hope people don't buy into all the mucslinging thats going on in this campaign. I hope they stick with the real issues that matters to people in this time of crises but I see that its not happening. McCain has made so many mistakes in this campaign that no one really can beleive him anymore. All he can do is bring up old dirt, that people at this time doesnt' really care about. They want to know about how they are going to take care of them with their health care, taxes, stocks jobs. but Hey and Palin she can't talk about obama, without looking at her past,, with Alaska. She's was wanting to seperate Alaska from the US. Well I thought McCain had some intergity but now He has really went down hill, that makes me wonder what he would do for our country. Yea McCain you say Country first. all you are thinking about is you first and the heck with everyone else. well I'm voting for Obama. I have had enough of the same old eight years. If people don't want the same they would vote for Obama.

This low IQ Sarah Palin keeps saying she will be tasked to work on energy independent. So if we are in a economy crisis, she cannot help to fix the issue???? What kind of VP candidate is this?
Senator Mc Cain will be regret for his poor judgement by selecting this lady.
I used to have great respect for senator Mc Cain, but after his VP selection, he just showed people his irresponsibility. His campaign say "Put country first", I want to know if he put the country first when he selected this low IQ person to be his VP?

The McCain / Palin events are starting to look and sound more and more like Klan rallies. All McCain needs is a white sheet and a pointy hat. Palin already has a pointy hat - a dunce cap that is. Let's talk about he economic crisis, healthcare, lost jobs and pensions. Talk about the issues. Judging from the majority of responses on this site, people are not fooled and this is actually backfiring as we speak.

I will be a first time voter this year as I just became a naturalized citizen. As a former Hillary Clinton supporter, I got disgusted with her negative attacks and nasty campaign during the primaries. After getting to know Obama through debates, I was amazed with his intelligence and his very civilized campaign. I became an Obama supporter, although I could not vote. The little experience is not a negative aspect for me at all as I believe he knows the issues well and he is brilliant. McCain has experience but for what? For making bad judgements, for going to Iraq for oil causing so many American soldiers and hundreds or thousands of Iraqi women and children to die. All those years of experience means nothing to me with this kind of politics. It's a waste and he hasn't learned much from it.

McCain and his incompetent VP choice have been running a very nasty campaign. Just for the sake of winning. They dream, because Obama will win this election. Plus, I do not believe McCain knows foreign policy well. He has made some major mistakes; i.e. he could not tell the difference between the sunnis and shiites. I really do not think he has any clue about the culture or the people in Iraq.

He is 72 years old and I cannot put my future in this country in the hand of a 72 year old who has had cancer numerous times. Especially now after his VP choice. His VP candidate selection showed us how selfish he is. This woman has no clue about anything. Regular people know more than she does! She keeps blaming the media, but no one in the right mind will believe what she's trying to pull after seeing her interviews. For those brainwashed people who keep praising her, I feel sorry for you for not being able to see the truth and the reality.

Does anyone imagine a Sarah Palin would have actually earned the nomination of the Republican Party had she run with the rest of the pack? Perhaps in 2012 she will be crazy enough to try... by then even Republicans will recognize how provincial and narrow minded she is.

How John McCain could have risked the security of America and the world with such a brazen and reckless mind as hers is bewildering and beyond comprehension. Judgment and Country first? Sorry just don't buy it.

Michelle Obama's thesis ... is unavailable until Nov. 5, 2008, at the Princeton library. I wonder why."

"Why a restricted thesis?" "Is the concern based on what's in the thesis? Will Michelle Obama appear to be too black for white America or not black enough for black America?"

John McCain Is behaving like a trigger happy soldier.
Obama is showing his always steady and thoughtfull
leadership. Obama and all who vote for him as well as those who
dont will see why and how a leader can bring people
of different political parties, different race cultures, and even
other forms of government and religions together.
It is time for the new generation of leadership and awareness
to begin. No more closing a blind eye : wink, to truth wisdom
and knowledge.

I am a service member of this country's fine military and have been for the last eight years coincidentally. Anyway, I have been watching these elections very close. I feel the slanderous and cut throat tactics of the McCain campaign appalling and desperate. When will he or his advisors realize that this is a campaign of policies and truly American lives are at stake at home and abroad. A failing economy and a demotivating war effort. I have spent some time in the Middle East, we as service members fight for our country, but more importantly we fight for each other, our brothers and sisters on our left and right. All this we do to get home to our families and so they can get home to theirs in one piece. I was fortunate enough to finally get home to mine but I know there are many more who want the same. Obama seems to have touch with all of us as service members and regular families, John "Maverick" McCain seems to lose himself in the amounting dollars wasted and rising death toll of our service men and women. His running mate as well needs to come down from her enchanted tower and really take a look around. America needs change, a new face, and a fresh start. This Republican ticket doesn't represent that. Any true patriot can see that, war hero, average man, the young and old. America and the world are ready for a new era.

Never select someone for VP that you only met once and didn't thoroughly vet. I would be willing to bet the farm McSame didn't know Palin had a pregnant teenage daughter or son who was constantly in trouble, or that Palin couldn't give an interview and speak good English, or was under investigation. The reason we are not reading about Biden in the paper is because he was thoroughly vetted. All we have is that he used someone elses words once and did't footnote it. I bet many doctoral candidates have done the same. That is not interesting enough to read in the National Enquirer.

She wanted to go to Nebraska just to go to Nebraska...
Really?
I'm from Nebraska and haven't been there in a long time. In fact I can't think of much of a reason to go there. Besides visiting my mom. There isn't much there. Why would she want to go to Nebraska? To give a speech? Come on...
They must be pretty worried if they are sending her to Nebraska. I can't think of the last time that Nebraska didn't vote Republican. It's been a Republican State for so long that I think the only time that Bush Jr. ever visited the state was when he went into to hiding after 9/11
They must be pretty worried.
I think that Palin is acting completely inappropriately for a person that is trying to be elected to the second highest national office.
Why don't they try to talk about what matters to the people instead for attacking peoples fears?

McCain's judgment is TERRIBLE. He got the Iraq War totally wrong before it started and Obama was totally right. Now McCain didn't even select a VP who he can trust to answer reporter's questions. That shows his "America First" slogan is a complete lie.

Three girls under the age of 17 need their mother. A downs syndrome baby needs his mother. Family first, then everything else afterwards. Don't say 'Why doesn't Obama stay home", because his daughters would feel uncomfortable talking to him about girlie subjects. It's not about what women want dummies, it's what children need.

To all who say Obama will disappoint, and not do anything, I still would rather have him in their than Mcsame, maybe its because of the last 8 years of a horrible Bush term, or even those 4 years under Bush1 where in 1991 the economy was in the toilet, just not this bad. Its funny how every time a bush is there our economy goes under. SO even if Obama does nothing can it really be worse than a Bush administration?

Obama and Mc Cain in dead heat in N. Carolina and Mc Cain sent Sarah Palin there? I wonder why senator Mc Cain keeps making mistake. He should spend time reading the polls and the criticism that people wrote about Sarah. Everytime this Sarah Palin talks, I cannot stop laughing. I wonder why there are some people still listen to a person whom could not even name the news paper she reads? She keeps saying that she wants to talk straight to the American people because by doing that, she can just recite whatever she they told her to. Should we trust and out our economy into the hands of the lady whom could not even name a news paper? I am talking about a governor here, not a kindergarten who does not know how to read.
Even my son, a 6th grader, was laughing when he listened to Sarah Palin's answer about the newspaper.

This is my first presidential election, because I just turned 20 this year.

I was born and raised in North Carolina and I'm currently a student at uncc. I can honestly say that the new, young voter turnout is gong to be amazing. There's a sense of excitement among my campus, and also many other NC colleges I've visited recently. While I can't speak for all in my age group, I truly believe Obama/Biden is what the country needs and I think everyone is going to be surprised at the turnout of young voters here in NC (and across the u.s.!).

I think NC is still considered a "red" state here, but if all the new voters turn out like I think they will, Obama/Biden definitely have a shot at taking NC. Not only young voters are turning toward Obama either. I've spoken to a lot North Carolinians who normally vote Republican, who are starting to lean obama.

North Carolina (and America) is starting to see what ticket is truly the best for us right now--Obama/Biden.

I could care less about the Economy at this point. If Obama wins we'll be living in a socialist state. Read the facts & put down the kool-aide. We want to see real journalists reporting about obama's ties to terrorists & racists. The real american people who love their country need to rise up against the main stream media and demand fair coverage of the truth about Obama! The future of this country depends on it! I'm glad Sarah Palin is willing to bring the issues of Obama's character to light and I hope John McCain does the same! It's not "turning the campaign negative" and it's not "smear tactics" Guess what. . . it's just telling the truth!

Here's my comment: I'll be thankful when this race is over.

Now that McCain/Palin have gone 100% negative our MSM is losing focus taking about this nonsense. Get back to the issues that will affect all of us.

Are any of you aware about the 90 yr old woman who shot herself in the chest because she was losing her home? She will survive and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are going to let her keep her house when she gets out of the hospital.

By listening to and responding to all the negative stuff we lose focus on the issues.

I agree with McCain when it came to choosing a woman for vice president, unfortunately for him it was the wrong one. Palin came into this election and is making a mockery of the electoral process. At this point I think that Tina Fay from Saturday Night Live would make a better vice president than Palin. She needs to learn how to keep her mouth shut and stop trying to smear Obama. The more she opens her mouth, the more everyone is starting to realize what a joke she really is. Everything that comes out of her mouth is ridiculous. I have to stop and wonder if she really believes her own lies. She should be focusing on the economy and her pregnant daughter but instead she is focusing on smearing Obama. I guess that is because she has no clue as to what is really going on in the world. I am sad to say that because of Palin, I will be voting for a democrat for the first time in my life.

Everday that Obama does not take the bait he looks more Presidential. Everyday he delivers his positive message and speaks seriously about the issues of the economy, jobs, heathcare and foreign policy to Americans on an adult level he looks Presidential. The snide insults and ineuendos from McCain and Palin make them appear desparate and small. Everytime they take the low road they look incapable and one dimensional, ill-equipped for the challenges. After all, if they aren't talking about solutions like Obama is talking about solutions it must be because they have no solutions. The contract between the two campaigns is astounding. Obama is a capable executive. McCain is an erratic and ineffectual scrambler.

Of course McCain camp is worried. Why talk about the economy? why talk about the war? let's focus on Sen. Obama's character and not what the voting public want to hear about. Sheesh

To me, the extreme negative campaigning is what the Republicans are best at. They have been doing it since Nixon was in office. Four years ago it was the Swift Boat people.
The difference this time is that Obama is willing to fight back.
