New McCain ad calls Obama 'not presidential'

A McCain ad calls Obama 'not presidential.

A McCain ad calls Obama 'not presidential.

(CNN) - John McCain launched a new television ad Wednesday morning that calls Barack Obama flat-out 'not presidential,' hours after the two men squared off in a presidential debate that notably lacked few pointed jabs from either candidate.

The 30-second spot also continues the McCain campaigns newest line of attack against the Democratic presidential candidate, asking "Who is Barack Obama?"

Watch: New Mccain aide calls Obama unpresidential

“The National Journal says he’s the Senate’s most liberal," the ad's narrator says. "How extreme. But when pressed, how does he defend himself?"

Fact check: Is Obama the most liberal senator?

"They’re not telling the truth," Obama is shown saying in a television interview. "I hate to say that people are lying, but here’s a situation where folks are lying."

"Mr. Obama, we all know the truth…Not presidential," the ad's narrator responds.

The campaign says the ad will air nationally, though the extent of the buy remains unclear.

Reality Check. Those who actually watched the debate scored virtually every "good " category in Obama's favor, with McCain winning the vote for "most like a typical politician". A president would not refer to an opponent as "THAT ONE". A president would have picked a running mate who could lead a nation. A president would have outlined cogent thoughts. McCain is not presidential, he is an angry old man out to fulfill his life's ambition at our expense, and to settle some convoluted score in his head regarding Viet Nam. I urge everyone to VOTE SMART.

I just watched the ad on youtube.com, and I think John McCain should ask for his money back! If I hadn't read the CNN article, I wouldn't even know what it is about.......

As for whether Senator Obama is liberal or not, I say, "Thank God he's liberal!" A liberal is described in the dictionary as:
-favorable to progress or reform, as in political affairs
-a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform
-favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
    -free from prejudice or bigotry
    -open-minded or tolerant

Isn't this just what we're looking for in Washington these days?

Top10 dumbest ads of all time! You only have to go to the many fact checking sites to see that McCain and his sidekick have been constantly lying...moving on! If he thinks that ad is going to persuade anybody beyond his staff members its really going down hill.

AND also someone needs to tell McCain that you do not win a war by leaving a country. You do not win until you leave the country. And infact you do not win unless you avoid it all together. Objectives have been accomplished, now to inact a plan to transition over the country is the way to end and win this war in Iraq.

Oh my goodness, the McCain campaign is really poorly using paradox in desperation to win this! While all of my contemporaries and I are saddened by this once-good man's most venomous campaign, his exceedingly un-presidential demeanor, and his apparent liberal use of deception, he accuses Senator Obama of all of these things. It is sad when he and his wicked, yes wicked, running mate have to stoop so low to beg the lowest common denominator to possibly not see through their ruse and vote for them. Obama/Biden 08!

Senator McCain is the least presidential person I've seen in a while. His "win at all cost" attitude and tactics are sad and very unappealing. He picks one of the most unqualified VP running mate imaginable and out of the other side of his mouth claims he always puts country first.

John McCain comes across angry and grumpy and that is when he is dealing with Obama, a fellow American. Imagine how he would interact with a foreign head of state he doesn't like!

McCain and Palin are really out of touch that's why they don't even know that the public is interested in the issues like finances, energy, and such and not insults and lies.

Obviously the McCain camp has not been paying attention to the debates. There is no question that Obama knows what he is talking about; has better command of what is going on (both internationally and domestically); and whose judgement on many issues (most notebably Iraq & choice of who is a "heartbeat away" etc).

McCain appears more erratic as the campaign progresses.

John McCain can throw the entire sink at Obama and he will not win the White House. The lack of common sense,arrogance,self-praise,old age,bad judgement and hatred has cost John McCain the White House. It is over, and John McCain knows it and that is why Americans are seeing so much of hidden hatred gushing from his mouth.I'll say it again,"it's not what goes into a man that defiles him,it's what comes out."

Obama is clearly the most INTELLIGENT and articulate Presidential candidate Americans seen in decades. Finally a President with Harvard credentials (yeah, I said Harvard, and not a “C” average – I don’t want Joe 6 pack for President…lol) Watching him debate someone almost 30 years his senior with intellectual superiority is why education is so important in America. This is the type of person who IS prepared to lead our country and who children will look up to. OBAMA/BIDEN 2008!

His ads are hilarious. He acts like a child after the debate and refers to Obama as "That One" and then proceeds to say Obama is not presidential. What makes this even funnier is the fact that he has either lost both debates or lost one and tied one at best. The American people dont need your opinion right now John. Actions speek louder than words, and your actions are saying your a sore loser.

As a Hillary supporter I still have issues with Obama but having closely watched McCain and Palin over the last month . . . has put me squarely in Obama's camp.

Quite frankly, I think McCain is erratic and likely is still mentally in a cell at the Hanoi Hilton, and Palin is not fit for any federal office short of House.

What is very shocking for Mcain, is during the whole debate, he said I quote"I KNOW HOW TO DO IT " IN EVERY ISSUE, BUT HE NEVER TELLS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HOW HE WILL DO IT.
People are not stupid, they know who is presidential and who is not.
It is true they will become more nastier as the election get closer, but God is in control. They also forgot that Obama represent a movement.

The most telling moment in this debate was when McCain refused to shake Obama's hand after spending 90 minutes on a stage with him. If he can't acknowledge an opponent's worth, how in the heck will he "reach across the aisle" to get things done? The man just doesn't get it.

it's sad, the mccain campaign has zero substance to run on. how far from the issues will you go? This ad is not changing anybody's mind. Just like the filth where you try to put 'obama' and 'terrorist' in the same statement. all you're doing is inciting an angry base of people who already are going to vote republican. all you're doing is inciting hatred. all you're doing is dividing the country. please, for the love of our country, show a little respect for your fellow senator.
