The New York Times issued a critical assessment of McCain's campaign.

(CNN) – The New York Times issued a renewed scolding of John McCain in a sharply-worded editorial Wednesday morning, the latest salvo in the ongoing back-and-forth between the paper of record and the Arizona senator's White House bid.

"Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin have been running one of the most appalling campaigns we can remember," the Tuesday editorial said. "They have gone far beyond the usual fare of quotes taken out of context and distortions of an opponent’s record — into the dark territory of race-baiting and xenophobia. Senator Barack Obama has taken some cheap shots at Mr. McCain, but there is no comparison."

Those comments come two weeks after senior McCain advisors derided the New York Times, calling the news outlet "an Obama advocacy organization" in response to an article in the paper that reported McCain campaign manager Rick Davis was still profiting from failed mortgage giant Freddie Mac.

The Times, McCain spokesman Michael Goldfarb said then, “obscures its true intentions — to undermine the candidacy of John McCain and boost the candidacy of Barack Obama — under the cloak of objective journalism.”

Top McCain adviser Steve Schmidt also weighed in on the paper that endorsed McCain's primary bid, saying it is “150 percent in the tank” for Obama — a statement that drew a defiant response from managing editor Bill Keller, who said the paper is "is committed to covering the candidates fully, fairly and aggressively."

The McCain campaign appeared to make its peace with the paper over the weekend, when aides to the Arizona senator and Palin herself both highlighted a Times story that investigated the relationship between Obama and 1960's radical William Ayers. That article, published October 3, concluded Obama has played down the extent of his relationship with the Weather Underground founder, but concludes the two "do not appear to have been close."

But in its blistering editorial Wednesday, the paper's editors criticized the campaign and the Alaska governor for suggesting Obama is "palling around with terrorists," saying that Palin is implying that "Mr. Obama is right now a close friend of Mr. Ayers — and sympathetic to the violent overthrow of the government."

“We certainly expected better from Mr. McCain, who once showed withering contempt for win-at-any-cost politics," the editorial says.

Sarah, how's that abuse of power investigation coming along?

Sarah, how's the Alaska Independence Party who hates the USA and who your husband was a member of?

John, how fun was it to sit on the board for that organization between 1982 and 1984 that was directly involved in the Iran-Contra affair?

John, how is Mr. Keating doing and how is Cindy doing with all of her business transactions with him?

John, how many miliary aircraft did you crash before you were ever shot down and why were you allowed to continue flying when piliot's today would not be allowed near an aircraft with that kind of record?

tonyP–"anyone who reads the NYT is a fool?" Didn't you know that Palin said last week that she reads it regularly? And that she purported to quote it about Obama (although she mischaracterized it)? I agree, in this case, that someone who reads the NYT is a fool. But that is the least of Palin's shortcomings.

Not hard to believe!!   October 8th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

NY Times is not in "the tank" for Obama, just like the republicans to blame any and everyone for mistakes they keep making. Now they want to turn this race into a racist- terroist game, instead of focusing on the economy which is what a larage percentage of America is focused on.

McCain has run the worst campaign in history, I didn't need the NY Times to tell me that.

mk   October 8th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

I wonder if Palin will read the NYT today???

Mark, B'ham., Al.   October 8th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

What the Obama Times is after McCain/Palin again, what is new. The bias of the so called Main Stream Press is obviously in the open, even on CNN one can see the facial expressions of the reporters and anchors when they show disgust when saying something good about McCain/Palin and the bubbly joy in their faces when saying bad things about McCain/Palin or the joy of talking about Obama/Biden.

No Hillary = No Obama   October 8th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

First it was Hillary that the NY Times scolded and now it's McCain - do we see a biased pattern here? Why does everyone feel they have to "protect" Obama? He's a big boy now, let him fight his own battles - or maybe that's the problem, Mr. Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice, can't. When people feel they can call a candidate by their first name, as if, he's someone familiar and non-threatening, then how is this guy going to handle the beheaders of the world from Mexico to the Middle East?

Mia-Stafford   October 8th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Was the NYTimes appalling when they endorsed McCain during the primary season?

I find it interesting how the NY Times is in and out of favor with the McCain campaign based on whether or not they did a hit job on Obama that day. For three days they have been misquoting the NY Times over the Ayers story, now they are the worse newspaper.

WHATEVER! The McCain/Palin ticket doesn't contain mavericks but HYPOCRITES!

jm for sc   October 8th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Absolutely appalling, to say the least.

I am shocked at the religious Palin who lives with a man who demonstrated hate for America by being a member of an organization that wish to be seperated from the country she now loves. I think the man she lives with would have more influence on her than a man who Obama served on a few boards with.

Apparently they don't remember the 2004 campaign. The "swiftboating" was the most disgusting thing I had ever witnessed.

Kerry was a combat veteran who was called cowardly and a liar. McCain was a POW and called a hero. Both men are heroes for serving in combat.

It was apparent last night, however, that McCain was angry. He was livid and it came through the camera and into our homes. You could see mmbers of the audience reciol a bit when he came near them. One actually jumped a bit when McCain went to pat him on the back.

He also shouldn't have walked around so much. The man moved like Frankenstein and showed his advancing age and infirmity.

dyellon md   October 8th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Hey Barry- did you actually see fotage of Palin calling Obama unfit for office because he pals around with a domestic terrorist? Did you hear the crowd yell "kill him". Obama was eight when Ayers was a terrorist. Obama has criticized the things that Ayers did as disgusting and unacceptable. I'll tell you who is unfit to be running the government- people that attemp to race bate, incite people to riot, lie while using words like traitor and terrorist to bismirch a candidate's reputation. You should be ashamed of yourself for your idiotic comments. Let me see- who should I believe- Barry or the New York Times? tough choice!! I choose the NYTimes.

To everyone who are posting or reading this post please post messages or call the campaigns, news organizations, and whoever will listen that the american people deserve an apology from MR. MCCAIN for his actions at last nights debate. Who is "THAT ONE" when he is adressing a fellow senator and maybe the next POTUS. His behavior has become more and more sinister as the weeks progress. NOt only is it insulting to the majority of americans this is a historic election and many people myself included have thier children watching history and to sit idely by and watch such an travesty is truly distrubing!

I am so proud of Obama in the debate because he did not let McCain get to him. I think McCain owe Obama a apologize for saying THAT ONE to Obama and the young African American man McCain said he would not know about Freddie Mac what make McCain think know one know's about Freddie Mac,,,,,,McCain is out of touch with American people and why didnt McCain shake Obama hand last nite at the end of the debate.

Obama/Biden a happy day for American

I actually feel sorry for McCain. My friends protest, "Why can you feel sorry for him?" "Many Americans have lost everything because of him and his party, how can you possibly feel sorry for him?!! I REALLY DO FEEL SORRY FOR HIM. He looks old, mad, angry, fearful, crazy, and extremely upset that he possibly wont be president (again). It is if Bush has beaten him again. It was painful to watch him in the debate.
He also acts like he is the only vietnam veteran in the US. He has been riding on it sooo long. See I talked to my 65year old uncle who is a vietnam vet. He has just lost $500 from his pension, had to move a roommate in to help his mortgage and is absoutely scared to death about the future. My uncle is the one that tolded me, "Don't you dare feel sorry for him, he's got money, and a wife that looks like she's 40!"
I guess he's right-but I do feel sorry for him. He's become something that is absolutely horrible.

The McCain Campaign is lowering the discourse in this country to a historical record. The campaign of 1960 was brutal between Nixon and Kennedy. Both sides were angered and hurt at the insults hurled back and forth. The fringe element on both sides were ready to fight Then, President Kennedy was killed. I ask Senator McCain to not debase the conversation because this country still has to function after Jan 2009. If you put "Country First" as you say, then you will honor this request.

Toni   October 8th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Why does the headline say OBAMA'S actions are not presidential? The article (and rightly so may I add) show that MCCAIN'S actions are unpresidential.

The New York Times wasn't too tough on McCain/Palin. They could have noted that Sarah Palin has recently been seen palling around with a member of The Keating Five; as recently as this afternoon! But they went easy on on their campaign, I guess because the New York Times is 150% on the tank for McCain.

j   October 8th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

McCain is running a dirty campaign but he's got nothing else to offer. He's a 20th century politician without a vision for the future. I just hope America is smart enough to see through the distractions and vote Obama.

No, the American people DESERVED better from McCain. unfortunately, we are getting EXACTLY what I expected. From Willie Horton, to Swift Boat, to now this..the GOP can not do anything but attack. They have no real solutions to offer this country. We are not falling for it any more!!!!! Stick to the issues Johnny!!!!

Karen   October 8th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

It's funny how when the Times endorsed McCain during the primary the campaign loved the paper. It was all facts & truths. Now that they criticize McCain it's a newpaper with bias.

McCain & Palin have no plan to restore America to it's former self. They incite hate & are the height of hypocrisy. Palin spews hate with the Ayers comments but does not talk about McCain & his involvement with the Iran Contra mess. Now who's PALIN around with terrorists?

Is anyone in the media reporting how McCain/Palin supporters are using the words "terrorist", "treason" and "kill him" in response to their candidates' stump speeches? The Secret Service appears to be investigating the third item because it's serious and dangerous language. I'm surprised this isn't being more heavily reported.

B.Travers   October 8th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

You can definitely see the BIAS by this paper……it is PRO-OBAMA! The same goes goes for CNN; they are BIASED and PRO-OBAMA. May as well be doing the campaigning for OBAMA. It is digraceful how this newspaper and CNN could be so discriminatory & negative towards McCain & Palin. Where is the fairness? Where is the equality? Hilary Clinton was right;"why don't you give a pillow to Obama" while you are at it? Maybe McCain & Palin should use this "remark" on one of their ads. No wonder McCain says Barrack is non-presdiential; Obama is too busy enjoying the molly-coddling by these newspapers and CNN.

One campaign says 1+1=2.

The other campaign says 1+1=3.

The media says that yes, 1+1=2, and is a factual statement, and 1+1=3 is false.

Campaign #2 attacks the media for being biased and "in the tank" for Campaign #1 by daring to report that 1+1=2.

This is what we're seeing. The media reports the facts. The facts and reality have a pro-Obama bias. Can't change that. The Republicans hate this. They hate that even Fox and the Wall Street Journal are being forced at times to point out the innaccuracies in the McCain campaign. So they demonize and attack the media, and anything that disagrees with their flawed and innacurate interpretation of reality, and all of the sudden McCain campaign stops have the ugly angry atmosphere of a Nuremberg rally.

Is it just me? If you have been following this presidential race at all it has become extremely apparent McCain has morphed into a desperate old man that will do or say most anything to get to the presidency. Last night he showed all debate viewers that HE was the least Presidential canidate. My God that was obvious!! and it was obvious even to the CNN Republican anaylists. Bill Bennet, Sanchez, and Company. I am proud of Barack and the way he has conducted himself through this entire process. He is my choice for President and I would take a bullet for that man. Our country desperately needs Barack, his vision, inspiration, common sense, fairplay, and a true desire to rebuild the America we all were taught was the land of promise, and where regular men and women from all walks of life can truly acheive their dreams. Yes we Can and No we won't stand for more of the same from McCain.

Yes, many of us do know for whom we will vote, and it is not Obama. Every criticism of Obama must be racist, right? Isn't that what everyone, especially CNN-the Obama Campaign Arm, says? The New York Times no longer has a reputable reputation as they are a completely biased newspaper with no concept of objective journalism. They are about to go out of business because they have so few people with subscriptions. Obama supporters buy that paper and watch CNN. If you support McCain or other party candidates, it is impossible to watch this network or read the NYT. I don't care what side a paper is on, but there is no need to state their views over and over…keep it to themselves. They have been biased, just like msnbc, cnn cbs……ayers and obama are a disgrace, ayers had obama work with him for seven years with the radical ACORN…getting voter registration no matter if people are dead or alive…obama pushed to get the mortgages for minorities through ACORN…no verification of social security, no verificaton of job, no money down……..he knew these loans would come back……but that is still what he pushed. The paper lets it slide also about obama and all the money he received from fannie mae and freddie mac, and aig

get out of your left leaning ivory tower and be alittle more balanced in your reporting.

I cant wait for them to start calling the Times a paper filled with lies and totally in it for Obama, especially after they just quoted an article the times did. Course they picked out words that best suited them…

this election is like watching a train wreck, you wana look away but ya just cant.

McCain & Palin are desparate…….and non-presidential

Walt, Belton,TX   October 8th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

Coming from the trash dump known as "all the news fit to print and then everything else", I'd take this as an endorsement.

Teddy   October 8th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

for the sake of his campaign i wish McCain would kick Palin to curb. She's dead weight and dragging the ticket down.

DR   October 8th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

NY Times need to do a full investigation on Sarah Palin, too. If she can call herself a christian why will she be willing to spread lies, and hate. Christian don't do that. McCain's rallies are getting to be very radical that it's scary when you hear there audiences saying, "kill him", "terriost" or a lawman labeling a candidate because of his middle name but McCain doesn't care.

Kentucky   October 8th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

I couldn't agree more with the New York Times. Every American should be offended at half the things McCain has said. He knows he's in a hole and wants to do whatever it takes, at anyone's expense, to change the momentum. I don't understand how there are still independent voters out there. Its a night and day choice. One will lead us further in debt and not prepare us for the future…the other will put the US back on the map and is willing to listen to all options before jumping to any conclusions. This is a democracy, Mr. McCain, not a dictatorship.

USAF Staff Sergeant   October 8th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

"Appalling" only starts to describe the McCain campaign. This past month especially has been the most vile, lie filled, ridiculous excuse for a campaign.

McCain already lost, and I guess he's planning on going down in a spiral of self destruction.

Peter from OH   October 8th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

interesting aspect of yesterday's debate: did somebody else watch this on the internet on cnn.com? The cameras kept running and running, after the debate was finally over, and we could watch - in amazement - how Obama and Michelle kept walking around the audience, greeting people, talking to them and having fun. Connecting to people. Engaging them.
John Mccain - nowhere to be seen! Long gone. History.
Sometimes these really little things tell us more about the candidates than any interview, debate or commentator can do.

I am glad that many people are begining to realize that McCain/Palin don't have a plan or clue as to what the American people need.

California Gold   October 8th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

McCain and Palin have given a new meaning to the word "maverick". It includes "the sky is the limit with lies", scare tactics, calling an opponent a terrorist or a traitor. McCain promised us a clean, honorable campaign and have set new, record lows for digging in the mud. Sadly McCain had a somewhat good reputation as not being a "yes man" and now he has spent 2008 in the world spot light as a man with no scruples, anything to get what I want at all costs, and otherwise selling his soul to the devil just to win. If he can't win then he will do all in his power to attempt to destroy his opponent. McCain is a disgrace. His father and grand father are probably rolling in their graves.

SHALOM !!!

Last Night Obama did not answer the question:

" IF ISRAEL WAS ATTACKED BY IRAN, WOULD YOU COME TO THE DEFENSE OF ISRAEL "

McCain said he would and would also not wait for the UN Security Council.
Obama said he will talk to the enemy.

Last Night Obama also said by implication that:

Amabom bin Laden, Amabom Pakistan, Amabom Afghanistan
Amabom Hussein, Amabom Putin.

obama mabom, obama mabom a nation, obamanation.

McCain/Palin have learned the trick to dismiss anything by using "liberal" as a negative adjective. McCain's campaign will quickly just brush of NYT as being "liberal media". Palin even blames Katie Couric for Palin's poor interview! KATIE COURIC WOULD MAKE A BETTER VP RUNNING MATE THAN SARAH PALIN!

But I'm not worried about McCain/Palin winning this election, THANK GOD!

BigBear   October 8th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

"Call the campaign fully, fairly and aggressively." Has the rag ever said anything that Obama has accomplished in 47 years of life? Have they ever asked Obama why he just thought about public service when he considered the military?
In the debate, Obama said that he was going to make drastic changes. Does anyone really think that he can change who he is? He has never made anything drastic except his rise to his candidacy which was helped by less than respectable people.
He is really "Style over Substance".

dean   October 8th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

I thought McCain was a man of intergity until the debate last night looking over at obama and saying " That One" how racist is that . I also thought it was really bad when Palin said Obama was a terriost. They have run the republicans down deeper in the mud. I'm sure some have wished they had backed a different canidate now. I think that Obama has proven himself presidential, and a leader to run this country, and McCain seems to me like a bitter man with a huge large chip on his shoulder, that he has been carrying around on his shoulds since the war. I glad that Mccain served his country, but I don't think he is ready to lead this country as President. I also believe that He should Appologize to Obama for the comments he and Palin made about him.

Mel   October 8th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

LOL - this cracks me up. Really, the NY Times are upset??? They are a joke - they once represented the best in journalism and now I can hardly believe anything they write (and not just about politics).

NY Times = Yellow Journalism / Citizen Kane

John   October 8th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

Thank God for the New York Times and its unbiased reporting. Prior to the NYT reports I had already concluded that McCain/Palin were running a highly disreputable campaign even for Republicans. I have in the past considered voting for John McCain, but that thought is totally gone. McCain/Palin may not be the most qualified to run the country, but they certainly are the most dishonest and deceitful. I have totally had my fill of lying Republicans going all the way back to Nixon.

Appalling is the cover-up that the media is doing for Obama.

They are both a disgrace to the American people. We deserve better than that and we need to make our voices heard.

McCain is currently trying to do anything to win. He has Palin out trying to create "hate" for Obama.

We can see how much McCain hates "That one." He can not even look at him in a debate and he is very disrespectful. I do not trust people who are that hateful. It shows that he has more hate issues that we are not aware of yet.

I do not like his healthcare plan. He wants us to go out and find our own Health insurance. You always get a better deal when you buy something as a group, like when your employer chooses the best group of plans. Try to go out and get something good on your own. Plus he wants to tax our health coverage for the first time ever. He is going to destroy the current health system. I like what I have now. I do not want to fend for myself.

McCain wants to win at all costs. I want someone who really wants what is good for America.

Barack Obama calling Iran attacking Israel "a game changer" shows how he lacks any foreign policy experience. That is such an immature response. He sounds like he's twenty years old. Along with his fake presidential seal. If Obama is president and he goes to meet with some of these world leaders that are going to take advantage of his stupidy and niavity. Especially the Russian and Iranian leaders. Obama will make America look like "Georgia" in the eyes of Putin.

Is is just me?

I would like to know when some one will do an investigative report on palin/s husbands tie to the move to sucees Alaska from the other states.
Sarah Palin's ties to Alaskan Independence Party are played down
The McCain campaign denies his running mate supports the party's separatist bent.
By Michael Finnegan, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
September 3, 2008
Tonight, Sarah Palin will be nominated as the Republican Party's choice for vice president of the United States.

But back home, she has cheered the work of a tiny party that long has pushed for a statewide vote on whether Alaska should secede from those same United States. And her husband, Todd, was a member of the party for seven years.
Palin And The Alaska Independence Party
01 Sep 2008 07:53 pm

The Alaska Independence Party calls itself the third largest organization in the United States. Its platform calls for the defense of "states rights," to "seek the complete repatriation of the public lands, held by the federal government, to the state and people of Alaska in conformance with Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17, of the federal constitution."

Basically, the AIP wants a vote on secession. According to the organizations' website. "[T]hough it is widely thought to be a secessionist movement, the Party makes great effort to emphasize that its primary goal is merely a vote on secession, something that Party advocates say Alaskans were denied during the founding of the state."

The AIP says that Gov. Sarah Palin used to be a member of the party. Earlier this year, Palin recorded a welcoming address to the AIP's convention.

Well everyone is appalled by McCain's campaign. He coudlnt' even hide his contempt last night for Obama. I understand no one likes to loose, but McCain has to understand that the American people are TIRED of the same old dirty politics that we've endured for the past 8 years and we want a change. Don't get mad, McCain, that we are not willing to be fooled again. It is the people's choice of who they want to elect, and from what I can see, Obama is the leading not only in the polls, but in people's hearts and he can relate better to all of us. This is just my humble opinion of course, but I'm sure I"m not the only one who shares this view.

There is no difference between McCain’s campaign and any other GOP campaign for the past 30 years. The only difference is the dire economic situation in which the country finds itself.

John McCain’s mental stability needs to be seriously examined. He can't even remember his no-substance attacks or his 'My Friends' catch phrases anymore. McCain is truly mentally and physically in decline.

Nick - Arlington, VA   October 8th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

True….McCain's campaign is disgusting and using race-baiting and hatred in a desperate attempt to win this election.

Illinois Blue Dog   October 8th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

The question going forward will be whether this election going to be like 1980 where Obama, like Reagan, wins running away or will it be like 1976 where Obama (like Carter over Ford) eeks out a win after a late but strong charge; also will Obama be able to withstand such a charge by McCain, if McCain can mount one.
So far it looks like the 1980 dynamic where McCain, like Carter, had the later convention, had a small lead coming out of his convention and lost that lead; unlike Ford, who all summer and autumn had to play catch up. Similarly to this year, in 1980 Reagan was an unknown at the national level (like Obama) and the debates answered a lot of questions for the electorate about Reagan (similar so far to Obama). Additionally, the debates in 1980 cemented the election for Reagan (yet to be seen if this holds true for Obama). 1980 was also a "change" election.
1976 or 1980? Hold onto your hats. For the sake of our country, though, I'm hoping that this election is like 1980.

IT IS TIME FOR THE NEW YORK TIMES TO CHANGE THEIR NAME TO: "OBAMA TIMES"

Jeff V.   October 8th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Its too bad that the NYT is so biased against one candidate. They are going to have to realize that there are some unsavory aspects about McCain's opponent that people should know about. Maybe this is not important to the NYT, but it is to many others. The NYT, in its allegedly objective role as a news reporter, should not be making front page news on CNN.com with another newspaper's editorial.

Roland   October 8th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Sadly, the ignorant "Right" will ignore what the Times has written. For these self-absorbed, xenophobic, sophomores anything not coming in an email forward is not believable. Email now trumps truth (and even 'Scripture' which is supposed to have authority in the lives of many of these so-called 'Christians.') America has found herself in the midst of the Dark Ages thanks to the failure of trickle-down economics, glamorizing a me-first lifestyle, and the elevation of Greed Over Principle (the true meaning of GOP). Your days are over McCain. Enjoy your retirement and your hundreds of millions of dollars as you dive one of your many cars to one of your many homes.

Dan in CHI   October 8th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

The Times or any news outlet who asks a fair question or reports the news as it happens, is officially "in the tank" according to McCain. Fox News, then, is officially "in the tank" for McCain. We didn't used to have media taking sides, but I think the accusations that the NYT is "in the tank" are misleading.

McCain and his people have gone out of their way to find garbage that is not germane to the election (Ayers, "voted 94 times to raise taxes", and other such guff); McCain would have fared far better by sticking to the issues.

"I know how to win wars and catch Bin Laden". Well, you might want to quit holding that magic bullet, Sen. McCain, because the election is breeze through your fingers at this point. A game changer like THAT would really help you out.

Or, are you just "SAYING" you know how to do these things without really knowing? Because that is what you're accusing your opponent of.

Dirty politics must end.

I'm glad someone in the media has the courage to stand up to the McCain campaign…too many media institutions that had previously been known as great bodies that served the country's best interests have whithered under the threat that the McCain camp will call them biased (example: Campbell Brown's reporting during the two weeks following her fair questioning of a McCain campaign aide concerning Gov. Palin's record)…where are my generation's Bob Woodward's?! where are the people in the media willing to serve their country by digging for the truth, even if that means hurting feelings?! So in conclusion, I'd like to quote Amy Poehler…"I invite the media to grow a pair"…

The New York Times is better suited only for the bottom of a bird cage except the bird keeps complaining about it as well.

The only thing about the New York Times piece is that they are "surprised."

McCain's ambition has allowed him to be co-opted by the far right republican machine that brought another ambitious scoundrel to power - G.W.

I'll admit, McCain never had my vote, but now he doesn't have my respect either (and I'm sure that doesn't bother him one bit. My vote though, I'm sure he'd buy for the price of a soul.)

How true this statement is…

Most people who cannot pay their mortgages is because they bought homes they could not afford. It has little to do with Republicans (or Democrats.) People need to stop living outside of their means!

All of the McCainanites should ask themselves one question before dumping on the NYT.

Would the John McCain of 2000 vote for the John McCain of 2008?

Thank You, New York Times. Of course McCain's campaign will just say that you're just another "evil liberal media", but that's a given. McCain's campaign is so predictable. McCain thinks he's clever by calling Obama things like "not presidential" when McCain must know that he himself is "not presidential". McCain talked to the American people last night at the 2nd Presidential Debate as if we don't know anything. It was insulting. I've known who Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac are for years, and I'm only 26 years old and don't even own a home yet. McCain "doesn't get it" and is truly "out of touch". Oh, and McCain recently said Obama "doesn't get it". McCain can't even get his own material. McCain is a follower, not a leader. Obama is the best choice to lead us in the 21st Century.

The New York Times…. Still the most trusted name in news! Keep telling it like it is.

Ayers has very radical ideals about education. His agenda is anti-american. It was Ayers that was granted the funds for the CAC and Ayers goal was to use the funds to push his anti-american education. It was then Obama as chairman who funneled the funds to the “special” education programs. THE PARTNERSHIP OF FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN COULD NOT HAVE WORKED UNLESS THEY SHARED THE SAME GOAL OF PROMOTING AYERS RADICAL EDUCATION. Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist and Obama was helping run his foundation.
-"I don't regret setting bombs," Bill Ayers said. "I feel we didn't do enough." (Sept 01)
-So, would Mr. Ayers do it all again, he is asked? "I don't want to discount the possibility," he said. (Sept 01)
