Palin represents ‘fatal cancer’ to GOP, conservative says

(CNN) – Conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks, who has expressed doubts about Sarah Palin’s readiness to serve as vice president, said this week the Alaska governor “represents a fatal cancer to the Republican Party.”

Brooks praised Palin’s debate performance and called her a natural political talent, but told a New York audience Monday that “experience matters”: “Do I think she’s ready to be president or vice president? No, she’s not even close to that,” he said.

“…Reagan had an immense faith in the power of ideas,” he also said, in remarks first reported by the Huffington Post. “But there has been a counter, more populist tradition, which is not only to scorn liberal ideas, but to scorn ideas entirely. And I'm afraid that Sarah Palin has those prejudices. I think President Bush has those prejudices."

Other prominent conservatives, including George Will and David Frum, have publicly questioned Palin's readiness to be vice president. Prominent conservative columnist Kathleen Parker, an early supporter, said late last month that recent interviews have shown the Alaska governor is "out of her league" and should leave the GOP presidential ticket for the good of the party.

Brooks himself has also written skeptically about Palin. "Sarah Palin has many virtues," he wrote in a recent column. "If you wanted someone to destroy a corrupt establishment, she'd be your woman. But the constructive act of governance is another matter. She has not been engaged in national issues, does not have a repertoire of historic patterns and, like President Bush, she seems to compensate for her lack of experience with brashness and excessive decisiveness."

Sarah Palin is not only a 'fatal cancer" to the Rethuglian Party, she is a seditionist that incites violence toward the other candidate in this presidential race. Perhaps Todd's and her affiliation with the extreme-right secessionist party in Alaska is closer than they let on. And, perhaps an FBI or Secret Service investigation into her campaign trail antics should be launched. She sounds just like Adolph Hitler, except she wears lipstick. Someone needs to slap an muzzle on that stupid cow now!!!!

Experience matters, of course. However, personalty matters just as much.
Sara Palin is nasty, mean-spirited person, aggressive just for the sake of aggression.
And, by the way, she is not running for VP. She is running for President. Not in 2012 or 2016 BUT NOW! Don't know if McCain realized it already...

    Funny.......even the Republicans get it.

    Why can't McCain???

Sarah was a bad pick. She's not a maverick......not even close. She governs over a population 3 times smaller than Los Angeles.

Who do you think you were fooling John??

I was wondering when someone would come out and for once be honest about Palin qualification as a vice president. This position is not a joke, we are talking about the USA, the greatest force in the world. She is definitely out of her league.

This is not only hurting the Republicans, but the focus on the American People.

Their are so many other respectable Female Republicans, that could have been on the ticket, but for someone to put a person at the lowest end of the chain of human interaction, is just affirming that judgment is far from being sound.

This is the 21st century, not the 16th century!

With the information age, and educated individuals willingness to research the candidates(from all parties) on their track records is at their finger tips!

Distractions, Deceptions, Lies, and Especially Character Smear in as using the Race cards, only demeans those representing the context of ads or verbal attacks.

Remember one thing everybody and everything knowledge of all candidates, Obama, Biden, McCain, Palin, et al are out there to take to task, in very minute detail.

When your campaign plays to the lowest common denominator, the candidates follow.

How did you become Governor? I understand the Mayor bit, she won by about 100 points in a very small town. Now VP potential and she has more experience than Obama and Biden? It sounds like she was selected because of her EXTREME and BIASED views of the the country and the World (????). I think she would be a burden to any campaign if all she can do is bark with lipstick on.
