New RNC ad mentions William Ayers

The RNC will begin airing a new ad Friday that mentions William Ayers.
The RNC will begin airing a new ad Friday that mentions William Ayers.

(CNN) – Republican efforts to link Sen. Barack Obama to William Ayers, a member of a 1970’s anti-war terrorist group, will increase Friday when a new ad from the Republican National Committee hits the airwaves.

“Chicago Way,” attempts to cast Obama as a stereotypical “shady” Chicago politician. Shot in black-and-white, the ad asserts “Obama’s first campaign was launched at a gathering at Mr. Ayers's home.”

The ad also mentions convicted Chicago businessman Tony Rezko, a onetime prominent supporter of Obama’s, and William Daley, a national co-chair of Obama's presidential campaign who is also the brother of Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and the son of legendary Chicago political boss Richard J. Daley.

“There’s more you need to know,” an announcer says as the ad ends.

The ad comes as the McCain campaign continues to carry out a more aggressive strategy of raising questions about Obama’s judgment and personal associations in the last month of the general election campaign. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin recently said that Obama sees America as “so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country,” in an apparent reference to Ayers.

The Obama campaign has hit back hard accusing the McCain of trying to distract voters’ attention away from the many challenges the country is facing.

The RNC says "Chicago Way" will air in major media markets in Indiana and Wisconsin.

RNC has to cover the cost because McCain can't.

This is so disgusting. I already know what I need to know to make a decision on Election Day. Enough is enough McCain! All you are doing is highlighting your own shortcomings. I actually voted yesterday and nothing is going to make me regret that vote.

These kinds of ads would have no weight if Obama had been honest all along about such relationships (Wright, Rezko, Ayers). It goes to his integrity and his judgment.

Ayers, Rezko, Wright; the axis of evil and guess who's at the center.
Your drug use and the little brother who you've chosen to forsake in Kenya are going to follow you to 2012 after which the American people tired of your Socialist policies are going to vote you out. Enjoy it now pinhead.

Interesting... should the city of Chicago go to Gitmo for awarding him Citizen of the year in 1997?

Stop wasting money and time Mac!

Give it up already! Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was active. The man hasn't been accused of these activities in decades. He has, like so many of the hippie generation, become part of the more mainstream establishment.

Being in the same room with the man doesn't mean you have their philosophy. John McCain should know this since he "palled around" with Keatiing and the other convicted felons in the Lincoln debacle but was found only guilty of using poor judgement.

    Forget about Ayers.....

What kind of a person is Palin, getting her "Joe six pack" trailer park trash crowds to yell racial slurs about Obama, and she stands there and says nothing. She is starting a civil unrest in this country...she is the problem we have today...its Palin

She needs to step down,..she is a cancer for America.

No Hill.. no O, like a lot of radical protestors of the Viet Nam war, he went too far. But he is a productive human being now, and it sounds like he was doing some good work when Obama was working with him in community service for education. The way the McBush Camp is running their smear campaign is criminal from where I stand.

Of course, the issues are just too hard to deal with clearly.

Who is John McCain? Who are his friends? S&L felon Charles Keating, convicted of wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud, was a close social and personal friend of McCain. Robert Asher, a Republican National Committeeman from Pennsylvania – and a felon convicted on public corruption charges signed on to McCain's campaign in February. Notorious Watergate burglar G. Gordon Liddy, who at one time plotted to murder a journalist, has been donating money to McCain for the past decade. Raffaello Follieri (convicted on Sep. 10th, 2008 for conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering) entertained McCain and Rick Davis on his Yacht on McCain's 70th birthday.

The McCain attacks are so transparent as to be laughable.

With less than a month to the election, I would think that more time would be spent convinving the American people that you are the right candidate for the job, as opposed to spending most of your time trying to drag down your opponent.

Sad, sad sad..........................................but from McCain, not surprising.

I hate the way he says "Chicago" as if it's an insult. Chicago is a great city, and a lot of people – even those that no longer live there – call it "home." I'm sure he loses some votes there every time he does it.

This is nonsense on what the RNC is doing...this guy was a anti-war activist during the 60's...Obama already explained his relationship with this guy...OMG...please make them stop releasing nonsense...America needs to know about the issues.

Palen was supposed to be such a religious person yet she is out there preaching lies and spreading rumors. I don't think even God can help her on this one...but maybe the voodoo witchdoctor can.

Mentioned Ayers !!! LMAO Thats all the McBush witch coven has talked about. The fact checks have already debunked the McBush lies but he does not care. He just keeps his lies going to his idiot faithfull. Obama and Ayers were both picked to be on a commitee in Chicago. So what? Meanwhile McBush was a member of a terrible Right Wing Racist, Anti Semite Group called the 'Council for World Freedom'. And Palin is closely tied to the Radical Anti American Group That wants Alaska to break away from the "Hated America".

Diggin the Mindless Obama Cult Member replies – everything except getting to the heart of the matter and no direct response to the issue at hand.

Is that the new Democratic platform.....or just the old one?

    Wrong? Probably not. Unethical? Questionable.

    Good judgment? Certainly not.

John McCain has forever tarnished his reputation as a "maverick" by participating in the kind of politics people have always despised. He is going down in flames and this is what he will always be known as – as a sore loser, not as a so-called American hero.

All of McCain's ads are lies. He is getting so desperate, it's pathetic.
Obama got the same attacks during the primaries and answered every one of them. McCain needs to get some new stuff. Or better yet, put all of that anger and energy into finding some solutions for the problems we're already in. When you point a finger, there are three pointing right back at you. McCain and Palin, you guys have rubbed elbows with shady characters yourself.
