You know I think ti's amazing to watch the Obama campaign stay focused on the issues. So since they won't say I'll pose the question. I watched Sarah Palin rail against Obama and his ties to Ayers, mean while she's married to a man that was a member of the Alaska Independence Party till August of this Year! Now this is a party that wants to secede from the United States, look this up people. Next we have McCain who's been closely tied to Charles Keeting and was a member of the Keeting 5, or his service on an advisory board for Council For World Freedom, a group with very controversial aid to the Nicaraguan Contras. Okay here's the new plan for McCain, obviously he has completely abandoned his honor in this race so he has two paths to the presidency. A. all this fear mongering actually works and Americans take a complete leave over their senses and vote for this man, or B. one of these whack jobs at his rallies decides he's going to save America from a potential terrorist becoming President. This is a very very dangerous game McCain and Palin are playing; I just hope that people realize this for what it is; the desperate maneuvers of a loosing campaign. McCain should be ashamed of himself!

Phil Gramm (R-Texas), led the charge in 1999 to repeal a Depression-era banking regulation law that Democrat Barack Obama claimed on Thursday contributed significantly to today’s economic turmoil. Gramm’s role in the swift and dramatic recent restructuring of the nation’s investment houses and practices didn’t stop there. A year after the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act repealed the old regulations, Swiss Bank UBS gobbled up brokerage house Paine Weber. Two years later, Gramm settled in as a vice chairman of UBS’s new investment banking arm.
Later, he became a major player in its government affairs operation. According to federal lobbying disclosure records, Gramm lobbied Congress, the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department about banking and mortgage issues in 2005 and 2006. During those years, the mortgage industry pressed Congress to roll back strong state rules that sought to stem the rise of predatory tactics used by lenders and brokers to place homeowners in high-cost mortgages. For his work, Gramm and two other lobbyists collected $750,000 in fees from UBS’s American subsidiary. In the past year, UBS has written down more than $18 billion in exposure to subprime loans and other risky securities and is considering cutting as many as 8,000 jobs.

Perhaps in the future the two sides (republican & democrat) can clone a baby from perfect parents with perfect family lines. Then each side can put the baby in a box and feed them nothing but media from each sides prospective. Why is this not important to you people? Obama has close ties to this man. Not only did they launch Obama's political career at Ayers house but Obama's wife worked with Ayers' wife at her lawfirm. They served on a board and worked closely together. Obama out and out lied when he said "he's just a guy in my neighborhood". Obama also listened to his radical preacher for over 20 years without knowing that he preached hatred for America. You have got to be totally ignorant to think that there isn't a connection. Obama hangs out with people that hate America. These are facts. It isn't "supposedly" - it is! For all of you to say that it doesn't matter when it so directly points to Obama's character and judgment is wrong. And it should be an important issue in this election, just as the economy and the war in Iraq. Can you honestly say you have absolute trust in Obama and his judgment to do what is best for you and me? I can't.

I would challenge anyone to find one person involved in the support of education in Chicago (especially involved with Annenberg) who doesn't know William Ayers.

Annenberg's widow just endorsed John McCain over the weekend. She thought Ayers was a stand up enough person to allow him to serve on the Annenberg board.

Does that make Annenberg a terrorist, too? And therefore John McCain is a terrorist as well??

This whole thing is so ridiculous.

If McCain and his campaign are so genuinely concerned about this connection, why are they just now talking about it?

I'll tell you why. They know the accusation is ridiculous, and they're afraid they're going to lose.
