The Obama campaign has previously run a two-minute commercial; today it announced has purchased 30-minute blocks of time on the broadcast networks.

(CNN) – Barack Obama is buying 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks just days before the presidential election, the Obama campaign confirms.

Sources with the Obama campaign say half hour blocks have been purchased on Wednesday, October 29 on CBS and NBC.  The campaign is also in negotiations with Fox, though that day will conflict with the World Series if there is a game 6.

The buy was first reported by the Hollywood reporter earlier Thursday.

Evan Tracey of Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's consultant on ad spending, said it was unclear how much the blocs of air would cost, but noted 30 seconds alone in primetime usually runs between $80,000 and $125,000.

"This is a big platform, this is a big megaphone, the interest level is clearly there and people will watch," Tracey said.

Why is PETA so silent? Don't they loathe Palin's record on killing animals.

He could be the next three weeks airtime but he will not be getting our votes. The 'stage strut' doesn't win elections. He has been in the Senate about five minutes before running for president, talk about NO CREDENTIALS, he is it. Obama is dealling in all flash and glitter and we need substance in the White House, seasoned, experienced substance and it will not come with Obama.

This is WHY Sen. Obama will be the NEXT PRESIDENT, He's WAY ahead of John McCain and is always moving "forward". That's EXACTLY the kind of President we want leading our country. One who is brilliant, savvy and politically intuitive when it comes to changing HOW we do business in this country!!

We NEED CHANGE, we need to STOP LIVING IN THE PAST and WE need a President who is calm and steadfast and who isn't ERATIC like John McCain lurching from one position to the next but never consistent on any one issues.

I've lost count of how many times John McCain has changed positions in the last 20 months. I mean, it's mind boggling. AND this is who Republican want leading them? Mr. Jigzaw puzzle??

AMERICANS FOR OBAMA!! AMERICANS FOR OBAMA!!

AMERICANS FOR OBAMA!! AMERICANS FOR OBAMA!!

Hillary Democrat October 9th, 2008 6:09 pm ET

Go home to Chicago and be a community organizer…we need experience now in these uncertain times not a smooth talker. We can not trust Obama….. McCain now and Hillary in 2012
    --------------------------------

Let it go idiot, you obviously will NEVER let it go that Hillary LOST and that there is nothing that can be done to change that fact. Telling you to stop being so narrowminded is useless as you do not want to open your mind to what your COUNTRY needs over what YOU want. I trust Obama over McCain and your ignorance is just what got this country into the mess we are in this very day. As far as "McCain now and Hillary in 2012", you narrowmindedness shows again. Do you HONESTLY think that things would really work out that way? That If McStain gets elected now that Hillary actually has a chance in Hell in 2012 without Obama's supporters? Do you truly think she can win without US? She CANNOT win with only 18 million voters, she would need US as well. You are truly closeminded and need serious mental help.

It is sad and scary how your ignorance shows. I really feel sorry for you. Good luck weaving through the spin that the McCain campaign has been feeding you.

How can people say Obama has done nothing in the Senate? Please people do your research before spewing stupid comments. He's spent 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor,
spent 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with 750,000
people, became chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spent 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs,Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees

Looks like some jealousy from the right wing.
All you complain about not knowing who Obama is. Well, here you go. he will give you a 30 minute lesson on who he is and what he wants to do. Are you going to listen or will you continue to foam at the mouth and complain that he won't say anything about himself and now that he will say something about himself, etc, etc.

It is clear who has a plan to run this country and who is going to say whatever they can in order to scare everyone to vote for them.

Good – because all we're getting in NC is the same old lies from "I'm John McCain and I Approve this Message".

It makes me sick – all the lies have been debunked for months and he gets on there and says it anyway.

Until now I was terrified that the McCain campaign would find some way to win. But their desperate tactics in the last week, the muckraking, borderline xenophobia and racism have convinced me that the campaign is self-destructing. I'm calling this one. Barack Obama is our next president, unless people really are as stupid as McCain thinks they are.
