An angry supporter confronts Sen. John McCain at a rally in Wisconsin on Thursday.

(CNN) - With recent polls showing Sen. Barack Obama's lead increasing nationwide and in several GOP-leaning states, some Republicans attending McCain-Palin campaign rallies have taken on a new emotion: Rage.

"When you have an Obama, [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and the rest of the hooligans up there going to run this country, we have got to have our head examined. It's time that you two are representing us, and we are mad. So, go get them," one man told Sen. John McCain at a town hall meeting in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Watch: Rage hits the McCain campaign trail

It's almost a cry for help, with the GOP party faithful amazed McCain could possibly be losing.

"And we're all wondering why that Obama is where he's at, how he got here. I mean, everybody in this room is stunned that we're in this position," another man said at a rally.

"I'm mad. I'm really mad. And what's going to surprise you, it's not the economy. It's the socialists taking over our country," another man said.

These ANGRY people are ignorant and blind...They clearly are unable to think and see that mrs Palin would be one heartbeat away from the presidency. These people at McCain rallies do NOT signify America and their anger and level of despiration are "in tune" with the current republican party. WAKE UP!!!

8 YEARS OF REPUBLICAN RULE BROUGHT THIS COUNTRY TO ITS KNEES. THAT IDIOT SHOULD THINK ABOUT WHO HE SHOULD BE MAD AT.
I WATCHED THIS WHEN IT WAS ORIGINALLY BROADCAST AND I FOUND IT DISTURBING THAT MCCAIN-PALIN ARE ACQUIESCING TO INCREASINGLY RADICAL AND VIOLENT OPINIONS.
IF VIOLENCE BREAKS OUT WE HAVE THE WHOLE HARD RIGHT MEDIA APPARATUS TO BLAME

    HERE HERE

This guy didn't say just Democrats- He is talking about ALL POLITICIANS, especially the super socialist lefties in the democratic party.

ALL of our politicians are taking us down the socialist path, and WE ARE MAD AS H3LL!!!

This guy wants someone who is on the side of HARD WORKING, HONEST Americans – not special interest groups and people crying about how they have been victimized and are looking for a hand out.

Sad to see that such rage and hatred still exists in the US. Most of us rational people really wanted to believe we were getting better. I guess not.

It would be to much to ask that he hold the people who got him in this position accountable.

Wow. I guess that's one way of "energizing the base". Palin has been able to bring out the worse in their supporters.

The McCain campaign is behaving in a very non-christian manner.

Unfortunately McCain Palin is encouraging this hate by their lies. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. McCain Palin need to start telling the truth and apologize for the lies that are causing such hate. McCain used to be the type of person that would correct these misguided people, now he's the mis-tour-guide!

These people are inbreeds. What they should be asking is: "Senator McCain, what are you going to do to bring jobs back the USA?" Don't you think China, India and Mexico have made enough money?

I know it's been said already. John McCain and Sarah Palin have an obligation to stop this. Firstly because they caused it. In every speech where this kind of rhetoric happens, they need to tell the angry mob it's unacceptable. Whether or not one wants to vote for Barack Obama, it must be noted that he has children and it's irresponsible, to put it mildly, for McCain to encourage this kind of anger. I'm so disgusted by this. Enough really is enough. I wish there were some legal way to hold him accountable for inciting this kind of thing.

YOU ALL HAVE TO GET SOMETHING, WHOEVER WINS THERE WON'T BE MUCH DIFFERENCE BECAUSE THE ECONOMY ALREADY SUFFERED A DESCEND AND THERE'S NOTHING OBAMA/MCBUSH COULD DO, OR ANYONE, THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO IS TO SAVE WHAT'S LEFT WHICH ANY OF THEM CAN DO

McCain can't seem to help himself and neither can his blinded followers. They do NOT want to see the lies spewed from McCain and Palin and all they see is the color of Obama's skin.
Why didn't this man ask why McCain continued to cry "DEREGULATION" right up until this mess started? Get it together America! We cannot tolerate this racism any longer.
God save our country from these lunatics that breed hatred.

I think the press should refuse to give this campaign anymore press if they're going to do this when our country is in crises. You are giving them a stage. If it's not NEW, which none of this constant Ayres b.s. is, then don't report it.

These people have had their 8 years. They're ignorant and hateful. Do they honestly believe the world will come to an end and evil will defeat good if a black man sits in the oval office as President of the United States?

what's really upsetting is that this Bozo and his company have the unmidigating gall to think that 'THAT ONE' doesn't deserve to be positioned to win the white house. The tone I'm hearingis that he feels that how did THEY slip up and ALLOW this to happen....like the OVAL office was promised to McSHAME or wasn't promised to an African American. Say what you want....but there is some racebaiting going on and it's very ugly.

President Elect Barack Obama, thank you for taking the high road and being a human and not a pack of angry (and old) pitbulls.

It's a mad mad mad Republician world, that's not neccessary a bad thing and we as democrats can help them out a lot. The way I see it is, we have suffer though 8 years of Bush/Chaney and when we finally go mad, we gave birth to a Obama/Clinton race. Now, my advice for the republician is give yourselves 71/2 years to work through that anger and after that maybe you will give birth to a Palin/Rice race.

On by the way, good luck with that....
