I agree... McCain's campaign is the dirtiest one that I've ever seen. You can't just insult and divide our country just because you're losing... Didn't he say he was going to run a honorable campaign? It's all about smear and fear tactics now! The Dirty Talk Express has arrived to your town...

I am glad that Sen Obama has called Sen McCain and Gov Palin out. You don't have to be negative to get your point across. With all of the worries that Americans are facing today, I feel that it is disrespectful for McCain and Palin to try to distract people from the issues. If you took away all of the negative ads from McCain/Palin, what would you have?NOTHING!!!!!!!!

I am so proud of Obama and the way his campaign has gone. Being a strong christian, I may not agree with everything other Democrats say but I definitely want a President that tells the truth and doesn't base his campaign on bad mouthing his opponent -- specially when those comments are out right lies or misleading as have been the majority of the things the Republican campaign has said about Obama. The McCain/Palin campaign has proved to be dishonest now which leaves the door wide open for them to be dishonest if they were elected -- heaven forbid!

This campaign has gone beyond decent ethics and I know McCain
knows and approves all of these tactics.. just look at his eyes when asked questions regarding them.. it will haunt him and all his supporters who approve of this type of rhetoric and sleazy tactics.
It is showing in the polls and most folks I know are "fed up" with this type of mud slinging.. both sides! It seems the issues are being ignored and America is in deep trouble and all had better wake up to that fact.. politics aside!

Truth is what is left out Sen. Obama. For the last 20 months, your line was "political smears again me" , "use of the race card" .. no matter who pointed that you are a talker. Remember Hillary? and Biden? and Richardson? and Edwards? they all view you are nothing but propaganda.

Out of one side of his mouth he tells his audience (proving that he is the only sane person in the room) to tone down the rhetoric. Yet his campaign continues to bottom-feed.

John McCain is either confused or he has no control over his campaign. Either way it proves that he is incompetent to lead this nation.

When this is over Palin will go back to Alaska and continue to a abuse the power of her position and most likely have more investigations into her Method of Operation of lashing out at those she feels have offended her in some way. McCain will continue to fumble around from one screwy idea to another to match the way the wind is blowing while telling everyone what a free spirit he is. What a sad state of affairs when this is the best the republicans can offer the country. Bob

I know I'm a Canadian .. but so interested in US politics. The latest trend with the McCain camp seems to be unreported ... and that is ... he has been slammed for his mean spirited attacks on Barack .. so now, he has resorted to having shills in the audience to ask the mean spirited questions and then appears to defend Obama ... shame on you, McCain. How low can you sink? ..

Yes! A pic with John and Ayers both and McCain praised his great work? Guess that line of attack blew up in their pandering and power abusing faces, eh? You want to be respected again McCain? Drop out and denounce in no uncertain terms the tone of your audience and the campaign you were forced to run. Then I will speak your greatness everywhere as a TRUE American hero.

During a McCain town hall meeting, he rightlyfully took the microphone away from a woman who referred to Obama as a Arab. McCain's response to the woman was that Obama was a decent, family man.

What John McCain failed to do was demonstrate statesmanship/leadership by not speaking to the fact that there are many Americans of Arab descent who are patriots, love and fight for this country, and that being Arab doesn't make one a bad person or a terrorist. What's interesting is that no media outlet has reported on this angle of the story.

What's interesting is that no media outlet has reported on this angle of the story.

I used to think Sen. McCain would make a good president, but no more. He has shown himself to be negative, angry, impulsive, and lacking in judgment. I'm particularly concerned about his lack of judgment in choosing Sarah Palin, an empty-headed, mean-spirited, and dishonest person. It's very scary to think that she could end up as president. I'm sick of attack, attack, attack, by both of them, as well as their lack of integrity. I am definitely voting for Obama.

Polically, McCain's camp is empty, no convincing arguments, so they are taking the dangerous road no matter what will be the outcome. And Sarah who claim to be marverick is not, according to the troopergate report. So it seems that McCain and Sarah Palin are dancing Calipso, a dance where we don't have coherence, should dance who can "Move". The downside is that the dancer can get hurt by another one.

With due respect, McSame has shown no exceptional qualification to be President. That is why he desperately chose now so quickly FAILIN' Palin. In fact, his current political adversity has him flailing desperately and demonstrating, in the process, the truly snarly, nasty, muck-raking nature lurching below a surface of fake-affability (“My friends”).

Great ad..McCain is only trying to change the subject from the economy (Which is all Americans care about right now) to anything other than the economy! It won't work, it is not working and that's why McCain is now back tracking on those nasty comments because it backfired on him. He's down 10-11 pts in some polls. This race is basically over because he's losing in the battleground state, which if this holds, will give Obama a blowout on Nov 4th....

How tragic:
John McCain used to be a decent Republican, a politician able to cross the isle and a maverick.

Now he is an old man, grumpy, erratic and his campaign and stump speeches, far from being those of the maverick we have admired, are a tired and stale imitation of Rove's led G.W.Bush Presidential campaign.
Only difference is that this time many Republican and Independent voters are no longer falling for that trap.

The maverick McCain is gone, only to be replaced by a McCLOWN.... what a waste!!!

It is sad that this once-respected man has resorted to this. I once respected him for the years of service he gave his country but now, especially with the Palin nighmare, I have little respect or sympathy for him. He is not a fit role model for our children and grandchildren and certainly not fit to be our commander-in-chief.

McCain's pick of Sarah Palin is just another example of his horrible judgment. Sarah Palin along with her husband are very vindictive characters. The only thing Sarah is good at is smearing others. She claims she is an "expert" on energy but has consistently gotten her facts wrong about her own state's oil and gas policies and figures. She has no experience in alternative energy, just oil and gas and even that experience is questionable. She abused her power as governor and has cited "executive privilege" in a call for her refusal to release official state emails that her own husband was included on.

McCain and Palin clearly have no solutions, they only have smears to run on.

It was clear from the start, when Sarah Palin presented her GOP convention speech, that the McCain ticket was intent on taking the low road; her speech was made up of sniping and negativity, delivered with cutesy smiles.

That tactic is now being taken to extremes by Palin, in particular, and by Sen. McCain as well. The accusations they toss about so freely in relation to Sen Obama are gross exaggerations and inaccuracies, not actual fact.

Why is it that nothing is being made of the REAL FACT that, until recently, Todd Palin belonged to an organization that preaches anti-Government sentiments and wants to SECEDE from the rest of the country? And the illustrious governor spoke at one of their rallies! She needs to remove that American flag pin from her lapel, as she obviously does not believe in what it stands for. She and McCain only want to win the election to satisfy their own blind ambition and, as seen in the past few weeks, they will resort to the lowest tactics to acheive their goal.

Great! I'm glad Obama has defended himself well! That ad says it all and is indeed true! The republican ship is sinking and there are no life preservers left marked "terrorist" & "fear mongering" to throw. The raging mad lynch mob right is empty and will soon be gone for good in a few weeks. Even McCain is getting booed by his own crowd. It's out of control within the republican right! They can't win by telling the truth. That's why Obama is leaving McCain and his followers in his review mirror. Obama/Biden 08!

This has been a recurring theme throughout history, actually. The losing side in any conflict becomes desperate, pulling out "all the stops" in order to increase their odds of winning. In the case of McCain-Palin, the campaing is resorting to the standard Republican tactics of fear and division.

This is how it works: the party scares people by suggesting that we as a nation are falling apart, that we are divided, and then gives us reasons to be divided. Then it turns around and says that it (the GOP) will bring unity and prosperity to the nation. This, despite the fact that all of our division and economic crises have been caused by who? That's right, the Republicans.

This is not to say that all Republicans are fear-mongers. Only the leaders are. The followers are usually just uninformed or misinformed. Generally this can be attributed to faith-based thinking. The same people that can believe in religion without verifiable evidence of ANY of the claims religion makes, are the same people that believe anything the Republican party tells them. They have the horrible, crippling disease of faith. What logical or rational creature can take everything they hear without a shred of evidence to support it?

This policy of McCain's is nothing new, so I'm almost wondering why I'm reading this here...

John McCain needs to take a good hard look at his campaign and the people attending his rallies. Does Senator McCain want to be remembered for the kind of hate mongering supporters that now make up his base? His own people booed him when he said that Obama was a decent person and a family man. Those aren't the kinds of supporters the McCain of 2000 would have thrown in with.

How sad....I hope that they can live with the probable violence that their Campaign will be responsible for creating. God Bless America

McCain is now a shell of his former self. The most patriotic thing he can do now is stop the smears and lose with dignity. Sarah Palin is a puppet. I don't think she's welcomed in Alaska anymore. They are indeed a 21st Century American political tragedy. Print this!

I'll go one step further. Smears are all McCain ever had. Pathetic. Barack deserves to win in a landslide.

Now that America knows the truth about Palin, this race is over. The MCcain KKK type rallies will get smaller and smaller and the smart Republicans with intergity will distance themselves by not voting or joining Obama.

Republicans show George Bush and John MCcain that you are not stupid.

Vote for OBAMA

For many of us the financial security we have worked so hard for has evaporated in the last few months. McCain does not have to instill fear in us--the economy has already done that. If a politician runs a dishonest and unethical campaign we have a pretty good idea of how he will govern. Thanks, but no thanks to McCain/Palin.
