Palin booed at NHL game in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) – Although many Philadelphia Flyers fans cheered and clapped as Sarah Palin took to the ice at the Wachovia Center on Saturday night to drop the ceremonial puck kicking off this town's NHL season, their warm reception was no match for the 90 seconds of sustained booing that rumbled through the arena, drowning out most of the cheers in support of the Republican vice presidential nominee.

As Palin stepped onto the ice before a capacity crowd to drop the puck, joined by her daughters Willow and Piper, the arena's jumbotron flashed a futile message to the thousands of notoriously harsh Philadelphia sports fans in attendance.

"Flyers fans, show Philadelphia's class and welcome America's #1 hockey mom, Sarah Palin," the massive electronic message board pleaded, to little effect. Booing quickly erupted when the smiling candidate emerged from a tunnel leading onto the ice, muffling the applause of any Palin supporters in the crowd.

Some in the audience simply gave her a thumbs down gesture. Others called her names.

Palin spent about a minute and a half on center ice, posing for pictures with Flyers captain Mike Richards and New York Rangers assistant captain Scotty Gomez, an Alaska native. The crowd commotion was sustained for her entire time in the rink.

Palin's showing did not appear to help the Flyers, who looked hapless in the first period, giving up four goals to their rivals from New York. The governor stayed to watch the first two periods with family and staff in the box of Flyers owner Ed Snider, and by the time she departed the Wachovia Center for her hotel, the Flyers had narrowed the lead to 4-2.

I know Palin can not feel good about herself. She supposely a christian, but having to lead a dishonest campaign regarding issues I am quite sure she doesn't believe. I know she can't wait until this election is over so her life can turn back as close to normal as possible. She looks tired to me. I think this campaign is taking a toll on her. Just imagine what it would do if she becomes vice president or possibly president.

The Macain Campaign has thrown out baseless buzz words such as mysterious, terrorist, etc and even a few of his supporters have even suggested that the financial meltdown due to to "Minority" morgage forclosures. Well guess what you radical base have connected the dots. Now we had Hitler essentally do the same thing to the Jewish people in Germany when he blamed everything wrong with Germany on the Jews. This led to the systematic murder of millions. So I do see a big leap to think that this racist rethoric might actually insight an attempt upon the Obama/Biden's life. Macain knows the type of leadership he hired to run his campaign and he knew their racist conservative ideology so don't tell me he is clueless in all this. We know have an informed and engaged electorate and this vailed racism will not go unnoticed.

I don't blame them for booing Palin. Palin thinks she can attack her opponents unfairly and then found guilty of abuse of power as if she above the law. It should be clear to her now that every arena she walks into isn't like the hateful, biggot rally's she holds. The country doesn't like what Palin and Mccain are doing in this election and hopefully that was a wake up call for Sarah who doesn't think she has to talk or answer the same American people questions she wants to vote for her ticket. Sarah ask for our vote but refuses to answer our questions. Keep Mccain/Palin out of the White House the country doesn't want their decisiveness and hatred.

I think Sarah Palin is morally bankrupt; she is never been a role model for anyone's daughter; l wouldn't want my daughter to elope with anyone.

She got booed because of her continual lies about Obama and her record in Alaska. She cannot admit that she used HER HUSBAND, not an official, to conduct her business in Alaska. She thinks she's above the law.

When the group isn't packed with Palinbots, the result is predictable. She is NOT popular. She is a divisive and polarizing person. She has no place in national politics.

In a month she will be history. Gone and forgotten. Please don't ever mention Palin as a representative of anything but the Alaskan population that chose her as governor and Mistake McCain that chose her as VP. She is not America's #1 anything.

Correction: She is America's #1 shame.

  21. Joe Six Pack NOT

Govenor Palin's actions, since her nomination, confirm that she is NOT Vice Presidential material and, further, is so lacking in political common sense, that she has destroyed the career of Senator John McCain worse than Senator Obama ever could. Her behavior will be documented in Political Science Books as examples of what NOT TO DO when running for national and even local political office. I don't know how Alaska could ever have elected her govenor, but Alaskans will end her run as govenor by the next voting cycle. It would be best if McCain would send her packing back to Alaska and hope she is never heard or seen from again.

Sarah should stick with appearances in front of her far right wing evangelical audiences. She deserves to receive boos.

Fox noted that "The GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said at an earlier fundraiser that she would stop some of the booing from the rowdy Philadelphia fans by putting her seven year old daughter, Piper in a Flyers jersey. She said, “How dare they boo Piper!”

So Sarah Palin has the publishing media by the short hairs. Not only does she not get challenged on Troopergate by making the media follow her rules, but she drags her daughter on the ice in a pre-planned stunt after abusing power in Alaska. And no one catches that.

Just how asleep at the wheel are these people? And do the ones paying these alleged 'reporter' know or care where their money is going?

Americans should be worried about the security of the next president. Republicans are just breeding hatred against the Barack Obama and Democrats are replying with the same towards McCain/Palin. Its scary to think how the supporters of the losing team will react when this is all over in 3 weeks.
