Palin booed at NHL game in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) - Although many Philadelphia Flyers fans cheered and clapped as Sarah Palin took to the ice at the Wachovia Center on Saturday night to drop the ceremonial puck kicking off this town's NHL season, their warm reception was no match for the 90 seconds of sustained booing that rumbled through the arena, drowning out most of the cheers in support of the Republican vice presidential nominee.

As Palin stepped onto the ice before a capacity crowd to drop the puck, joined by her daughters Willow and Piper, the arena's jumbotron flashed a futile message to the thousands of notoriously harsh Philadelphia sports fans in attendance.

"Flyers fans, show Philadelphia's class and welcome America's #1 hockey mom, Sarah Palin," the massive electronic message board pleaded, to little effect. Booing quickly erupted when the smiling candidate emerged from a tunnel leading onto the ice, muffling the applause of any Palin supporters in the crowd.

Some in the audience simply gave her a thumbs down gesture. Others called her names.

Palin spent about a minute and a half on center ice, posing for pictures with Flyers captain Mike Richards and New York Rangers assistant captain Scotty Gomez, an Alaska native. The crowd commotion was sustained for her entire time in the rink.

Palin's showing did not appear to help the Flyers, who looked hapless in the first period, giving up four goals to their rivals from New York. The governor stayed to watch the first two periods with family and staff in the box of Flyers owner Ed Snider, and by the time she departed the Wachovia Center for her hotel, the Flyers had narrowed the lead to 4-2.

Toxic, selfish, liar. Why did McCain pick this woman? Romney, Huckabee, even Ron Paul would have been better. But this woman has step on the scene, launched out some of the most divisive rhetoric ever at a convention and now our country is more divided than I have witness in at least 20 years. Shame and sad.

I think palin ought to be ashamed of herself for inciting klu klux klan tactics against obama. Where does she get off in saying that obama "pals around with terrorists" when she herself is inciting violence among crowds to harm another human being...she needs to check herself because she herself is a Terrorist. Another thing, she keeps harping about obama not being 'truthful" when she herself has lied about her role in the Troopergate firing. This woman is a VINDICTIVE EVIL human being (wolf in sheeps clothing if you will, isn't this in the Bible?) and has the audacity to call herself a "Christian"..GOD help us all...in the event she could (although very unlikely) win the VP position, for those of you who voted/sided against her in any way (voiced negative remarks, voted for Obama, made fun of her , etc...) you better beware lest she does what she did to her brother-in-law to you...she will send out her Dude dog to getcha(wink)

I don't know what is she looking for, Mrs "Power Abuse".
She was asked a tongue-in-question :" why did Alaska sold 75% of his oil to China ".

She stupidly said it wasn't that much amount that was sold to China.
So the questionner just laughed at her for ignoring how goes the State she's ruling.

Amazing for a VP. A Woman who should became commander in Chief if Granpa Mc Cain decide to rest a little in a nursing home, or if the Creator states his final sentece for John.

    Total Lack of Judgement,

Why would Palin subject her young daughters to that torment. Hockey fans or not, Philly is strongly democratic. After the heated week, she should know that she wouldn't get a warm reception. Considering the fact that the fans had been drinking, I can only imagine the ugly language the kids might have endured.

Why would she subject her kids to that torment just for a Photo OP?

Sometimes, I think, what kind of 'fastasy world' does Sarah Palin live in ? When 'reality' sets in, today, tomorrow or a week from now.., with last Thursday nights 'debate' and previous 'interviews'.., Sarah Palin is "not" ready for prime-time or to be Vice President or President. Senator Joe Biden, Charles Gibson and Katie Couric proved that. Sarah Palin is way over her head and 'out of her league'. The best thing for the Democratic Party is Sarah Palin. Mike in Montana

What goes around come around....McCain / Palin just don't get it. They can not win with just there base....The country is headed down the toilet. and we need to unite. Because our enemies are waiting to pounce. Instead of uniting the country and preparing for the worst. McCain / Palin continue to create hatred and sow seeds of seperation and destruction.....John McCain no honor...John do you really love america?

Palin deserves to be booed by normal Americans for several reasons. First her appeal to the worst side of human nature in her hate-filled rallies.
Second, her denial of wrong doing in what was clearly an abuse of power in her crusade to get her brother-in-law fired, putting all her employees in a very difficut position.
Thirdly, for dragging those children with her everywhere as props. Why aren't they in school? Why is that poor special needs child constantly seen being dragged off a plane or to a rally or fundraiser in the middle of the night? She's every cliche that women have struggled to overcome in order to be taken seriously. She looked so surprised when she heard the boos–doesn't she understand the people that worship her are an unbalanced and ignorant few?

Support for Palin has dwindled down to the hard, bitter core. If she can get booed that loudly at an NHL game (even in Philly), it's game over.

Where is the headline that Palin gets McCain's position wrong again on a foreign issue. Now it's regarding North Korea and removing them from the terrorist list. Does McCain and Palin even talk to each other when they aren't campaigning together???
