PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) – Sarah Palin on Saturday denied abusing her power or violating state law in the dismissal of Alaska’s Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, putting her at odds with the findings of a state ethics report that determined she did abuse her power as governor.
As the Republican vice presidential nominee departed her Pittsburgh hotel on Saturday morning, a reporter asked Palin if she abused her power in firing Monegan, which was the conclusion of the state investigator's report released late Friday.
“No, and if you read the read the report you will see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member," Palin responded before boarding her campaign bus. "You got to read the report, sir."
Palin had the authority to fire Monegan, but the report by former Anchorage prosecutor Stephen Branchflower concluded that she abused her power as Alaska's governor and violated state ethics law by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law, Mike Wooten, fired from the state police.
"Gov. Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda," the report states.

OK.. Now the word game BEGINS... Question is did you abuse power in the trooper case NOT if you broke the law by firing a cabinet members. This is an ethics problem. Having an ethics problem is A HUGE concern even if you broke no laws as she is applying for the second largest position in the country. You want someone with ethics and morals!!!

Sounds like the governor needs to read the report, sir. She may not have been found at fault for the firing, but she was found to have violated the ethics laws and she doesn't even suggest she has a defense to that.

What are the facts:
1. Ms. Palin wrongfully allowed her husband, Todd, to use state resources as part of the effort to have Trooper Wooten dismissed.
2. Ms. Palin knowingly “permitted Todd Palin to use the governor’s office and the resources of the governor’s office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired.”
3. Ms. Palin “knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda.” If was a good leader, she should have found a better way of doing this...we know that the she also employed her former friends. When is CNN going to report this.
Most controversal is this finding that "Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Walt Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.” The report citing the Alaska Constitution, which says “the governor may discharge department heads without cause" well ladies and gentlemen Good Luck working in Alaska Government. Should this be case that, as it states "In light of this constitutional and statutory authority, it is clear that Governor Palin could fire Commissioner Walt Monegan at will, for almost any reason, or no reason at all.” Should a constitution be fair and respect the people.

I did read most of the report, Sarah, and you have violated the public trust, which under Alaska law, is an ethics violation per statute.
