You violated Statute 39.52.110(A) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. How is violating a statute different from breaking a law?

Has anyone else noticed people like Palin in local politics? That is, folks who got into politics to serve a personal agenda and never really got the notion of serving the people? She strikes me as that kind of person. There's not only Troopergate but also the issue of her getting a per diem while living at her Wasilla home and having the state pay her way to religious events. Most of these folks get found out on the local level and never advance beyond that. Palin is the exception.

McCain, maverick or erratic? He chose Sarah to join the ticket supposedly knowing this investigation was underway. Either that wasn't true and Sarah didn't disclose it or he failed to look at it adequately. The truth is she violated the law but beyond that it is a political disaster for McCain. Gov. Palin has been shown to have unfairly and illegally tried to have her employee's employee fired. Working men and women of America would never want to be subjected to this unfair treatment. That'll go over great vith the voters, NOT! Terrible lack of judgment on Gov. Palin's part to have abused the public trust and terrible lack of judgment on Sen. McCain's part to have picked her with this problem hanging over her. And this is just one more reason to conclude she's unqualified for being VP and doesn't have the skills to be President.

Palin originally supported and encouraged the investigation before being named VEEP - that is clear by her own words. Her position only changed after becoming a VEEP and her own "internal investigation" found evidence that her administration had abused its (including her) power. The issue was never about could she dismiss an at will employee. The issue was/is whether she can abuse her power (violate ethics laws, break state law, be a rogue maverick) in the process. I would hope that inquiry would never be couched as "politically motivated" as Palin has, especially when there is evidence that should abuse occurred. Her actions, and that of her administration, is the example of a true rogue-'maverick [wink]' not to mention unethical person.

AFTER an investigation by the troopers her ex brother in law was suspened for several days, that was his punishment according to the people who hired him. In the divorce trial the judge even reprimanded her family stating that they were biting the hand that fed them, that if the trooper lost his job how could he pay child support. BEFORE she was chosen as the VP pick a panel of 10 republicans and 4 democrats decided something was fishy with her firing of the boss of her ex brother in law. It wasn't OBama that sent a "team" to Alaska it was McCain that has tried to shut it down, yeah that's really partisian. Sure she has the right to fire whoever it's just the way she did it then lied about it. Pure and simple it was revenge. Who is this woman that she would use her position as govenor as pay back? This is just too unbelievable that anyone with a functioning brain would vote for this ticket after they way they have questioned OBamas ethics. True Americans are sick of this gutter trash and burn politics and inciting hate and fear to get elected. It is beyond despicable. Well....I wasn't expecting her to gracefully admit her mistakes and mis-judgements, she a repulblican. But ofcourse denying is way easier than accepting for them.
Too bad for the McPains', 'cause after McSane looses the election to the Real Guy in the Race, Palin wouldn't even have a job to go back to. What goes around comes around. She fired not the trooper but the guy that didn't fired the trooper. Ok, maybe she couldn't fire the trooper directly but you can see she a very sadistic and calous this woman is. Am sure he will send government aides, now secret service to go get him the only guy that said booo during the election.

For the first time in my life, I follow U.S.A. race for President and honestly I am scandalised by McCain/Palin way of campaining. and I come to the opinion of, if McCain wins (which won't happen I hope), his voters will have exactly what they deserve, an old man totally unable to stand up and getting control by Palin, etc.. exactly like Bush and Cheney... By unfortunetly, all U.S. voters will be affected by the the bad consequences of this bad and dangerous choice and it's gonna mean that U.S. people dont deserve a great leader and admirable man like Mr. Obama. My point of view is they are lucky to have the chance to get this man and the power to elect him. In Canada, I wish we would have of man of his value as choice, but unfortunettly, we dont but if we would, be sure that we would not miss the chance to elect such an integrate man, with his spirit and intelligence. We HAVE read the report, Ms. Palin, and suggest you do the same. Your ethics abuse wasn't the fact that you replaced Monegan. It was, as stated in the report, that you "knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda". You basically forced those people to follow your directives for fear of losing their job. You ABUSED your power. And now, we learn that you also spent taxpayer money to travel to meet with religious leaders on topics not relative to the management of the State of Alaska. Ever hear of that little concept of separation of church and state?? You are in deep, deep doo-doo, and frankly, I'll be very surprised if, when it's all said and done, you emerge as governor with full powers. People need to remember that this was voted on unanimously by ten Republicans and four Democrats. So they cannot use political reasons for this ethics violation to be agreed on. This opens up another can of worms, regarding her husband's access to the government, the email accounts, etc.
