McCain says he'll 'whip' Obama's 'you-know-what' at debate

McCain predicted a win at Wednesday’s debate.

(CNN) - John McCain predicted Sunday he would beat Barack Obama at the final presidential debate this week.

"After I whip his you-know-what in this debate, we're going to be going out 24/7," the Republican nominee told volunteers at his campaign headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, sparking laughter and applause from the group. McCain immediately added: "I want to emphasize again, I respect Senator Obama. We will conduct a respectful race, and we will make sure that everybody else does, too."

Outside the doors of his campaign offices, McCain is fighting to hold on to the traditionally-red state. McCain talked Sunday about the tough fight for Virginia, where Obama currently leads by four points, 49 to 45, in the state's most recent CNN poll of polls. He also pointed to battlegrounds states like Ohio - which Sarah Palin visited Sunday - and Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.

"And I'm telling you, we're coming on and we're going to work 24/7 for the next - who's counting - 22 days," he said.

McCain acknowledged the dip in his poll numbers since the financial crisis began, but said overall trends were in his favor. "...I'd like to give you a little straight talk, we're a couple points down, ok,
nationally, but we're right in this game," he said. "The economy has hurt us a little bit in the last week or two, but in the last few days we've seen it come back up because they want experience, and they want knowledge and they want vision. And we'll give that to America, and I know that we're going to win this race."

that's nice, but he'll still be behind 2-1 even if he does win the final debate.

They don't want experience, senator, they want Change. We want Change. Can you make that happen after 26 years in the senate? Nope! Obama will have to do for me. Thanks John. Goodbye.

first, McCain needs to look at Obama in order to kick his you know what. Considering that McCain does not like to look at Obama I doubt McCain will kick Obama's you know what. Second, McCain needs to have a coherent plan for the economy. considering that he believes the economy is okay and does not understand it, I doubt McCain can even last talking 90 minutes about the economy.

No Mr. McCain, if the first two debates are any indication, I believe Obama will be whipping YOUR you-know-what.

Senator McCain, please stop the trash talk. Haven't you and Sarah Palin caused enough trouble? Don't worry about whipping Senator Obama ( and please tell us you are not thinking in slave master terms), just tell your side honestly and be straightforward. Let the American public make up its mind without the hysterics. Try to hold onto some shred of your dignity.

  13. No McCain/Palin

I want a man with honesty, intelligence, and someone who realizes that everyone does not make five million a year. McCains experience hasn't gotten us anywhere.....where is Osama....if he knows how to catch him. Why are we still in Iraq ...if he knows how to win wars. Why is the economy such a mess....if he knows how to fix it. McCains experience doesn't count for much, not if Bush was his primary teacher. As for Palin...she isn't worth my time.

What a way for the could-be next President of the United States to talk – it is obvious that McCain has been hanging around with Palin and picking up on her trash talk. I will be so glad when this campaign is over – with hopefully Obama in the White House! I did not find McCain so terribly objectionable until he added Palin to the ticket – and now everytime I see/hear McCain, I think about Palin and just about get sick!!! I cannot believe that it is even a remote possibility that Palin could get into the White House in any position – much less in a position that could one day lead to the Presidency! What must the rest of the world think about us – with Palin now in a leadership role!!!

Bring it on, old man, bring it on!!

The only way that you even have a chance to beat Obama is if you come up with something (ANYTHING!) at the debate that states you know how to fix our economy and this is the plan. Since you obviously have no plan, you will lose in November.

    Obama/ Biden 2008!!!

How many years has this man been in Politics? And he's just now decided he wants to "change things in Washington?"

McCain is the past and Palin is dangerous. Obama/Biden is the future and what America needs in this time of crisis.

McCain we want you to tell us DURING the DEBATE about your VP pick regarding her ABUSE OF POWER and Compliance with the code of ethics……A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister, or by failing to prevent her husband Todd from doing so. The report says Palin failed to reign in her husband's inappropriate efforts to use the governor's office to contact trooper employees in his attempts to have Wooten fired.

John McCain has come from behind after numerous setbacks along the way and is still going strong, I feel he will pull ahead once again in spite of Acorn and the economy. I am impressed to see educated Americans putting the race card in the closet where it belongs and judging both candidates on their ability to lead the country.

Yeah, because he knows how to win debates. Just like he know how to catch Bin Laden,...and just like he knows how to win wars...and fix the economy...what a sad, sad man.
