McCain says he'll 'whip' Obama's 'you-know-what' at debate

McCain predicted a win at Wednesday’s debate.

(CNN) - John McCain predicted Sunday he would beat Barack Obama at the final presidential debate this week.

"After I whip his you-know-what in this debate, we're going to be going out 24/7," the Republican nominee told volunteers at his campaign headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, sparking laughter and applause from the group. McCain immediately added: "I want to emphasize again, I respect Senator Obama. We will conduct a respectful race, and we will make sure that everybody else does, too."

Outside the doors of his campaign offices, McCain is fighting to hold on to the traditionally-red state. McCain talked Sunday about the tough fight for Virginia, where Obama currently leads by four points, 49 to 45, in the state's most recent CNN poll of polls. He also pointed to battlegrounds states like Ohio - which Sarah Palin visited Sunday - and Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.

"And I'm telling you, we're coming on and we're going to work 24/7 for the next - who's counting - 22 days," he said.

McCain acknowledged the dip in his poll numbers since the financial crisis began, but said overall trends were in his favor. "...I'd like to give you a little straight talk, we're a couple points down, ok,
nationally, but we're right in this game," he said. "The economy has hurt us a little bit in the last week or two, but in the last few days we've seen it come back up because they want experience, and they want knowledge and they want vision. And we'll give that to America, and I know that we're going to win this race."

So Senator McCain is saving his best performance for last? Kind of how Governor Palin was saving her answers in the Katie Couric interview?

Well see about that! When the Clintons cover the swing states with Biden and the debate is over on Wednesday night..... we'll see. McCain is still going to have to deal with fallout from the "troopergate" investigation and it's results, the fact that his wife maintained a investment relationship with Charles Keating for 11 years after the McCain investigation, his ties with David Ifshin, a dissent, and his ties with Wall Street bankers and lobbyists. McCain is nothing more than another George "king" Bush and in fact, worse! He has traded whatever honor he once had for the gutter in this political race.

You wouldnt know a respectful race if it bit you in the "you know what". You lost any respect I had for you when you allow Palin to continue to suggest that he's a terrorist. Put a leash on your pitbull, or give her different lies to spread.

i think it's too late for mccain to play the "i always respected him" card. he"d said and done too much to make it seem sincere. plus it makes him seem as erratic as obama says he is.

If you respect Senator Obama, you'd better pull your VP off of the hate wagon.

YES! please do something! We can not let someone this out of the mainstream become president.
McCain, we need you to win. Can you imagine the judges that Obama would appoint?
Can you imagine how the government would grow? Government needs LESS power, not more.

McCain is all talk and no substace. Look at the townhall format which was supposed to be his strong suit. He got schooled by Obama in both foreign and domestic policy.

McCain couldn't whip his way out of a wet paper bag.

Give it up man. The fat lady is warming up her vocal chords.

McCain says he's going to "whip" Obama's "you-know-what" and thinks that's respectful? Either McCain has totally lost his mind, or he's speaking in racist "code," or both. In any case, he's lost any shred of dignity he might once have had.

Well, there you go again putting your racist language out there for all to see. McCain, you and your running mate are two scary people and if you're so good at debating, why have you been such a total loss at the last two?

You've tried twice and failed both times. The economy hurt people more that a little bit. Maybe you are speaking for yourself. You didn't have enough experience to pick a running mate and you're still blind to the fact. You are putting the people in harms way if you win the election.

Maybe so. But it is interesting. In the first debate - Obama won. In the second debate Biden won. In the third debate Obama won. If McCain does win does he claim victory after th Democrate would have won three out of four?

McCain better come up with more than stollen ideas wo win the debate with.l Obama has the plan and can explain it to the people in clear terms. McCain just tries to use fear and lies. Amreicans need and deserve better. Obama has a better plan and can show the way. McCain can only follow. Palin is DANGEROUS sh eabused power to GET people she does notlike just liek Chaney. We can't afford 4 more yearsw of the same abuses of power.

On his statement of "I'm going to whip his you-know-what",,,,,McCain doesn't stand a chance. It's obvious to the majority of Americans that McCain doesn't even know his head from a hole in the ground. And if he actually does, he should simply stick his head in the hole and go away.

I'm sure glad this thing is almost over. The lies and filth that McCain and his arm candy Palin are smearing around is simply discusting.

America needs intelligence. We need to fix our problems domestically and around the world. Obama and Biden are the perfect two men to get the job done.

lol wasn't he preaching, in the 2nd debate, to speak softly and carry a big stick. Looks like he forgot about his "hero's" words.

  24. McCain/Palin is the real bridge to nowhere

I think you have your mind all screwed up Mr. McCain. Obama beat you twice already, even though republicans can't admit that. He beat you in your best format, town hall. So what makes you so sure you will win this debate? i feel an "Obama win" coming on. Get ready America, the first black president is going to be a landslide.
