Palin visited the crucial battleground state of Ohio Sunday.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (CNN) - At a campaign rally designed to reflect the pastoral beauty of the heartland in autumn - with a stage set up in a red barn overlooking a sweeping field and piles of pumpkins - Sarah Palin warned the audience about the threat of terrorism, and explained that the Republican ticket should be elected because “we know who the bad guys are.”

“Help me, Ohio, to help put John McCain in the White House,” she said. “He understands. He understands you. We understand how important it is that this team be elected. For one thing, we know who the bad guys are, OK?”

That statement elicited scattered shouts of “Obama!” throughout the crowd.

“We know that in the war, it’s terrorists, terrorists who hate America and her allies and would seek to destroy us, and the bad guys are those who would support and sympathize with the terrorists,” she said. “They do not like America because of what we stand for. Liberty. Freedom. Equal rights. Those who sympathize and support those terrorists who would seek to destroy all that it is that we value, those are the bad guys, OK?”

Was Palin suggesting that Barack Obama and Joe Biden don’t understand the terrorist threat? Who exactly were the “bad guys” Palin was referring to? A spokesperson for the campaign would only say that the governor was describing “nations that sympathize with terrorists, period.”

The vice presidential nominee pressed on and pointed the finger at more bad guys - the “greedy and corrupt and arrogant” mavens of Wall Street and Washington who, she said, have pushed the nation’s economy to the brink.

“We know who the good guys are, and it is you, and we will fight for you, and we will put government on your side,” she promised. “We will end the arrogant and the selfish practices of Washington and of Wall Street because your United States government is to be of the people, by the people, for the people.”

In her remarks, Palin also appeared to acknowledge the snow-balling narrative that Republican rallies have grown increasingly hostile and angry in the waning weeks of the campaign, echoing weekend remarks by McCain himself.

“All across America, I know that there’s a lot of anger right now,” she said. “There’s anger about the insider dealing of lobbyists and anger at the greed of Wall Street, and anger about the arrogance of the Washington elite. And with serious reforms to change Washington, John McCain is going to turn your anger into action.”

Forget about Obamaniacs, It's the McCain Palin crowd who is the radical ones. No one is shouting "Kill McCain, He's a terrorist."

Umm “we know who the bad guys are.” If im not mistaken, Your president and party started the war in Iraq to capture people who had nothing to do with 9/11. we know who the bad guys are..............No you dont!!!

Typical Rethug ploy...let's scare the American people into believing anybody who is different than us MUST be a terrorist. Go home, Sarah. You are an absolute disgrace to this wonderful country.

Great we'll be safe, but poor and socialist. Not a good trade off, Ms. Palin.

If someone with authority doesn't stop this America is going to have a riot on their hands that will make the 60's look like a Love Fest! Sarah's persing of words, ineuendos and veiled attacks are what one might expect from deal makers not a VP! This is abominal coming from the McCain Campaign. They apologize and then ambiguously make the same attacks and think we don't know who the real target is! It is becoming very clear why John choose Sarah as his running mate! The thought of having her anywhere near the White House is too scary!

James in Ohio   October 12th, 2008 10:10 pm ET

Why does this woman think that she and Senator McCain are the only ones who know who the "bad guys" are? It's silly. Please Mrs. Palin, please stop inferring that Mr. Obama is sympathetic to terrorists and is somehow unpatriotic. We do not need the fear mongering that existed in the 2004 election, and it appears to me that such fear mongering is all that this "pitbull" has brought to her campaign.

I have been motivated to volunteer for the Obama campaign for nearly two years now, and it had everything to do with his politics. But after reading the craziness of Palin, I have never been more sure that I am doing the right thing, and I am even more motivated to get out there and stomp for what I believe in. Good guys, bad guys...we ALL love America you supposed high and mighty Christian with your devisive rants.

Sarah Palin is NOT one of the good guys. Her nasty diatribes against Obama fill me with disgust. This is not the way an American election should be run. Her sneering remarks and canned phrases are unpatriotic and serve to inflame some of her followers. Well, you can count me out...I voted early for the first time this year...for Obama. I refuse to let this woman represent me and my country. There is anger in America...and it is directed toward you and your negativity. Why do you think you were booed in Philadelphia at the hockey game? The majority of Americans think you are out of your league.

Sarah Palin-

It truly shows your ignorance & incompetence, or possibly your own blind ambition and disreguard for someone else's safety, when you spew the false idea of fear throughout middle America. I am not sure if you completely understand that there are racists at those rallies who do not make much effort to get to know Barack Obama. Therefore, when they hear you speak, as their candidate, they are trusting your every word and looking for answers. That said, it is urgently essential you recognize the line before you, and the the sign staring you in the face which says "Do Not Cross."

And this is the problem with people like Sarah Palin – they see the world only as "good guys" and "bad guys." Sorry, Governor, but on the world stage, sometimes you have to talk to the "bad guys." It took Bush a long time to figure that out, and I don't want to give you the opportunity to figure it out too...after it might be too late.

We all need to put our entrenched political ideas aside and come to realize we will soon elect a man who will be the leader of the entire free world. We are not electing a King, Nor should we be electing someone with the thought this may be a chance for payback for all the undertrodden of our society. Remember who pays the taxes and who spilt the blood for this nation and saved our right to vote, to speak as we do and to live free. We have an opportunity to vote for an American Hero. Tough times will be with us for a long time to come. I think John McCain is better suited for the times ahead. If Obama pulls this out, there will be a culture war, no doubt.

Jermaine Fanfair   October 12th, 2008 10:07 pm ET

“We know who the bad guys are.” Yet another not-so-veiled attempt to rally the forces of division. Nothing simultaneously confuses and motivates people like good ol' reliable fear. When are the politics of fear superseded by genuine concern for the fear Americans feel about our economic future? What about real solutions? The attacks of 9/11 initially bred unity and resolve to face the challenges that lay ahead; however, our fear would be used against us to persuade us that we needed to get the "bad guys" in Iraq. Now, when we face the greatest economic downturn since the Great Depression, what do we need to do?...of course, "get the bad guys." Yeah, that's it. It all makes sense now, once we get the bad guys, unemployment will drop, corporate mergers will cease, the price of gas will go down, stocks will rise and, oh yeah, my property value will be restored.

Jean Doe   October 12th, 2008 10:07 pm ET

K from VT   October 12th, 2008 10:07 pm ET

Fear mongering at its best. These simplistic words "good guys", "bad guys" and the simplistic ideas behind them WILL NOT solve any of our nation's current problems nor bring people together to work toward the common good nor improve our national standing.
The words coming out of Palin's mouth – and the message being espoused by the McCain campaign – are what we should all be afraid of!

If this is the rhetoric and tone of what is to be cultivated across America by McCain and Palin and their surrogates, may God help us get through these last weeks of this campaign with as little damage as possible to our great nation.

This woman is truly dangerous. I really liked McCain in 2000 and would have voted for him over Hillary if Obama wouldn't have won the primary. I wasn't sure who I'd vote for once Obama won. It is so clear to me that Palin is dishonest and not very intelligent although she is great at public speaking when she has a prepared script. She is out there to appeal to the low information voter but I truly believe that most people are too intelligent and have too much at risk to believe what she spouts off. She did abuse her power when firing Monegan and she has very little knowledge outside of Alaska. She was a very poor pick for VP and that is very sad because if McCain could have chosen a more competent VP candidate, he could be ahead in the polls instead of behing. Imagine if he would have selected Romney!

More incitement of hate and violence from the LIAR Sarah Palin. Hey, Pa-liar, how'd that investigation turn out?

Once she fails at this, she's going to be persona non grata everywhere.

Or, at least, if there's any justice in the world, she will be.

If John McCain handles an international crisis the way he suspended his campaign and raced back to Washington to make a fool of himself, God Help Us.

Mr. McCain needs to RETIRE and Sarah Dearest needs to go back home and raise her family (and he kids' families).

darrell   October 12th, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Palin really needs to stop making insinuations that ties the name Obama to the word 'terrorist' while her husband Todd belonged to a group that promoted treason like activities, and that Palin spoke to at several of their conventions.

Only 23 more days and we will never have to hear from this crackpot again.

KJL   October 12th, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Palin has missed her true calling as one of those cheesy televangelists who talk gullible folks out of their money. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the next mischief she becomes involved in when she loses this election. Lord help us if she wins.

WHAT?   October 12th, 2008 10:04 pm ET

She did it again. She made bogus connections between terrorists, or in her little elementary world,"the bad guys" and Barack Obama. She did not correct her crownd when they started their violent chanting that Obama was a terrorist. Next she will claim that she can't control everything said in her crowds.

This is not "Putin rearing his Head" Sarah, this is facism rearing it's head right here in middle America.

Jrosy   October 12th, 2008 10:03 pm ET

WHat a waste of energy. Sarah Pain has no substance in her speech. She only talks in general terms as if she is talking to a crowd of 3rd graders. If you can't give specifics at this point in the elections, cease to try and rattle the crowd with vague info which does not address any current issues facing all americans.

Sarah Palin is insane, no wonder her and McCain get along so well.

xargaw   October 12th, 2008 10:03 pm ET

John McCain has been in Washington for 26 years. Much ofl the trouble he has been embroiled in during that time has been related to his conduct with lobbyists; from the Keating Five to Vicki Isleman. He has been a huge de-regulation advocate. Now his campaign is being run predominantly by the very lobbyists responsible for many of our current problems stemming from Wall Street. Don't tell me he is the one to fix things. He is part of the problem.

"Your anger into action," eh? Is it wise to honor racists with the promise of turning their anger into action?

Gov. Palin, after reading your comments made at this rally (stated in line with conveniently placed chants of Obama), I have every confidence that you are inciting these crowds to hatred and divisiveness.

Anthony   October 12th, 2008 10:02 pm ET

"Good Guys" and "Bad Guys"???
What is this, elementary school?
The world is NOT that black and white. Give us some credit here lady. Being leader of the free world takes an understanding that is not that cut and dry. What makes her think that on an international stage WE arent looked upon as "Bad Guys". We need leadership that has a certain level of intelligence and understanding, not arrogance and ego-mania. Especially when a woman like this is so religiously motivated.
How about this for starters.. I THINK SHE IS ONE OF THE BAD GUYS.

Now do the right thing Ohio, and vote Obama.

Ryan in Michigan   October 12th, 2008 10:02 pm ET

She needs to tone it down and make sure to refute those people who yelled that obama was a terrorist before violence starts up..

For political reasons, keep it up, it will only keep driving your poll numbers down and my candidate will be in the white house... but we, as americans right now do not need people trying to divide us or incite internal violence within this beautiful country.. we need leadership, REAL leadership, not this divide and conquer crap.

Doesn't she sound like the very President Bush even worst? Her characterization is terrifying for the thinking mind. Does she know the implication of her blind accusation and its predictable consequence? Divisiveness is not a good virtue. Same body needs to tell her power is a responsibility and needs to be used accordingly. I am sure at same point she might have to answer to the American people and I encourage people to ask her to clarify her point. The simplistic division between good and bad is mind boggling? It reminds me “You are with us or against us” paraphrase. It is very scary all over again.

jude   October 12th, 2008 10:02 pm ET

Palin is just an idiot and a divider. Her plan is to create fear like GWB did and then tie "THAT ONE" to it. Guess what McPalin!! not this time around, it will not work and will never work again because we mainstream and hard working Americans know better. You talk about relationships, what about the relationship of your husband with the Alaskan separalist party? this is a case of kettle calling pot black. Continue fooling yourselves with all your lies, fear mongering and what have you, it will not work. When the living God says yes, no man can say no. God has said yes to "THAT ONE" and so shall it be. We're in the 21st century and we don't need dirty politics like McPalin have engaged in. If McSenile truly puts country first, then Palin should not be on his tickets. They already feel like they're above the law with their arrogance, being a POW does not make one qualify for the presidency, as far as i'm concerned, McShame is a failure and his records clearly shows that. Lost four fighter jets and got shot down because he just does not get it. AMERICAN wake up from your slumber and don't be fooled again. VOTE for peace, VOTE for a true leader, VOTE for prosperity, VOTE for "THAT ONE". We're all Gods children regardless of race, color and gender. God is not happy with us, he has shown his anger in so many ways like the natural disasters, financial melt down and etc, we should be our brothers keepers, show and spread love, not hatred like McPalin.

No foreign government could succeed in doing near the damage to the US as the Bush administration and the republicans have done.

When Sarah Palin jumped into the political scene by way of the VP candidacy, I was slightly amused. I thought she was real person with an everyday life that we can all relate to.

Sadly, that perception is rapidly dying. She has now gone from a curiosity to an outright annoyance. She is trying to play two roles and I suspect it's not her fault. She's just playing the cards handed to her by the McCain campaign.

Poor woman. I'm sorry they dragged you into this.

Doesn't really surprise me. I am still amazed that the RNC is putting out flyers slandering Obama, calling him an Arab and a socialist...not to mention a terrorist. Obama is obviously not a socialist, as if the Republikanischers actually know what socialism is, but tactics like this, what the Republikanischers are putting out, aren't just out of Rove's playbook – they're out of Mein Kampf. But then, that's probably where they get ALL their ideas. Well, guess what, brownshirts? You're not going to get away with it. America will never become Amerika.

Divisive, full of innuendo and scary. Are these tactics the ones they would use globally as well? I'm angry now! McCain, Palin, and their advisors have only proven to me how they would truly respond on our behalf when events and others(our allies and our enemies) aren't favoring their own selfish wants and desires. Instead of staying the course, standing on steady, sturdy ground, appearing informed and confident, they beg and plead, use scare tactics, vascillate on ideas and mislead us. If I ever thought they were the best to lead our country forward, I don't now.

THE END OF AMERICA by OBAMA   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

Thank God Sarah, you have finally found your own voice.Use it girl. You and John McCain keep going. America needs you more than ever if our country is to survive.
Keep talking Sarah. This is too important. Our freedoms in America have never in our history been in this much danger of being lost before.

And the pitbull in lipstick continues spitting venom and hate. Funny, I am beginning to feel sorry for her cause she does not realise how much damage she is causing her ticket. Good guys and bad guys. The world is that simple to you. The problems we Americans face is that simple to you. The solutions are that simple to you. God help us all.

Palin-Best comedian ever   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

hahaha...It's so funny to hear 'Palin Talk' about terrorists and world politics when she doesn't have a clue what she is talking about...I love her...She is the best comedian ever...

Sue in MI   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

The most greedy, corrupt and arrogant person in the race is Sarah Palin.

Ije   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

It's very very sad that Gov Palin with all due respect will resort to this cheap rhetoric when Americans are going through a serious economic crisis that is not only affecting America as a country but actuall causing a ripple effect across the globe.. and this is all you have to offer people that are hurting? Govenor? To bad.

M. Felder   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

It's amazing to me how we put so much effort in keeping the terrorist from attacking us on our homefront and they did it without attacking our infrastructure. What they did, because of our greed, is collapse this country economically.

Harrison   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

Equal Rights? Is this woman out of her blasted mind? Republicans don't want equal rights in the slightest. Only for straight, rich, white, Christians they do. The rest of the people in the US and world can go F**K themselves for all they care.

"... who the bad guys are, OK?" Did this chick ever learn to speak beyong a kindergarten level? She is an insult to women, to America; and sadly, a very poor example of our education system... or... maybe not example, but more an indicator: indicator of what else needs to be fixed – the education system... and pronto I may say.

David in Illinois   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

Barack Obama is one of the BAD GUYS? Why, because he doesn't agree with Palin's skewed vision of America? GIVE ME A BREAK.
I'm sorry... Palin is the MAIN reason the GOP ticket is as low and trashy as it has become. People just can't stomach her being so close to the Oval Office....she's not one bit prepared or qualified. NOT ONE BIT.
And, as a bipartisan party of her own state has determined, she has "ABUSED HER POWER." Is that really the change we want in Washington? MORE CORRUPTION?
This is just more George W. Bush. In fact, McCain/Palin is WORSE than Bush/Cheney, because at least their incompetence wasn't mean-spirited at the same time.
No way.

Chad, Indiana   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

I just wish the republican party stood for liberty, freedom, and equal rights. Why doesn't McCain have an answer for voting against equal pay for women, why did he vote against MLK day? I'm tired of the double standard, and hypocritical unethical practices. I think the Republican party needs reform more than Washington.

Henry Miller, Cary, NC   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

“They do not like America because...

We're sticking our noses into their internal affairs. We're the global nosy, overbearing, neighbors, forever telling the rest of the planet how to run their lives. "If only you'd be more like us," we keep arrogantly insisting, "you're lives would be so much better. And you smell bad too."

Come on, people! Would you like it if the world treated us this way?

I believe we need to look a litte deeper into Palin because preaching hatred comes a little too easy for her.

Greg   October 12th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

Good guys and bad guys... hahaha. You have to be kidding me. This isn't playing cops and robbers as a 5 year old.

What are your plans to get the economy back on the right track? How do your policies differ from the disastrous Bush policies?

I can't believe with this line of campaigning that McCain has 43% of the vote out there. It's simply mind boggling.

Lennon for president   October 12th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

this is a hate crime...why isn't someone slapping some cuffs on these clowns...I sure want to....the only "bad guys" (nice vocab skills by the way) around here are the GOP ticket candidates...enough fear mongering...we need hope and change not fear and oppression...the republicans sure have messed things up for the past 8 years well since Ronald Reagen...why people trust them is beyond me...this latest duo of republicans are monsters....ARREST THEM!!!!!! they are inciting hate crimes and labelling it as patriotism...well if that's their idea of patriotism then I'm a sith lord

McSame-aPALINing   October 12th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

Wow, the hateful rhetoric preached by the McBush-Caribou Barbie campaign just gets worse. Not only do these two idiots continue to falsely suggest that Obama "pals around with terrorists," but they are also adopting a familiar ploy of Bush/Cheney: When the going gets tough, bring up the terrorism card.
How is this old fool a candidate? Is this the best that the GOP could offer? And why do people actually like Palin? The woman is nothing more than a stupid cheerleader for Ol' Fart McBush.

Walt, Ohio   October 12th, 2008 9:46 pm ET

Palin wil do whatever she can to lowe herself and McCain's Chances for the presidency by the lies and insinuations she uses to insite the simple minded people who attend her rallies.

Pat   October 12th, 2008 9:46 pm ET

What happens when Sarah and John have lost the election bid? How is this talk about Dems being cozy with 'terrorists' going to go down? I can't wait to find out. Whats more crazy is, If she does become the VP, will she fund AIP? I can't understand why anyone isn't bringing her past with AIP up. Thats quality ammo and will shock people into changing affiliations. Man, I wish the voters who vote repubs get their wish and then sit back and watch It hit the fan.

Chris   October 12th, 2008 9:46 pm ET

Sarah Palin has finally done it. She has tanked her and McCain's chances of winning on Nov 4 because these statements will be all over the news this coming week, and it will be interpreted as Sarah Palin implying that Obama sympathizes with terrorists, it will only emphasize the outrageous lies and the lowest of the lows that the McCain campaign has come to only to instill hate and fear of Obama, only to win the election.

SARAH PALIN HAS EFFECTIVELY GIVEN HER OPPOSITION THE FUEL IT NEEDS TO FINISH HER AND MCCAIN OFF: JUST WATCH AS THE WEEK UNFOLDS.

Liz   October 12th, 2008 9:46 pm ET

I know who the bad guys are too–the two candidates who both have ethics violations. Abuse of Power is a very serious charge Ms. Palin. If you don't have the moral character to avoid abusing your position you don't belong in a position of power. Period!!!

CAW in MD   October 12th, 2008 9:46 pm ET

The terrorists cannot destroy us. This is the problem with the "war on terror". The terrorists can be annoying, the terrorists can be deadly, but the terrorists cannot destroy us, unless we allow ourselves to be destroyed. The terrorists are a loose confederation of like-minded individuals, not an army. At best, they are the third most dangerous threat to America right now. That doesn't argue for ignoring them - it does argue for perspective as to how they fit into the myriad threats that face the United States.

I want a President who understands that. As amply illustrated by Ms. Palin, the McCain/Palin ticket would not provide that President.

Morgan   October 12th, 2008 9:45 pm ET

I pray for her because she knows not what she does. "Turn your anger into action" could be heard wrong and people act violently. Of course she means help get McCain elected but should anger really drive a vote? I always that anger distorts your view.

jeff bodkin   October 12th, 2008 9:45 pm ET

Maybe Sarah Palin is too much like the average "Joe 6 pack". She does'nt even understand what John McCains plan is.

Sue   October 12th, 2008 9:45 pm ET

Oh my God. Does she know what she is doing? This is incendiary, and total unbecoming of someone who wants to be VP of USA!! God help her soul if someone interprets her words as a green light to physicially attack Obama.

Sifa   October 12th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

With all of thing, can someone please tell me why McCain asked that Obama repudiates John Lewis' comments about insinuating hatred. For about the past four weeks, she has been saying Obama "palls" around with terrorists. Then, for her to stand there and say "those who sympathize with terrorists don't like America" and there are the bad guys is beyond me. Some of us understand what code speeches are, and this is just another one of them. I hope to the same God they claim to believe that thing whole thing blows up in their faces.
Also, may God protect Sen. Obama because this country and the world need a leader like him.

Robert From VA   October 12th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

Does this crowd not realize that this is the exact same speech Bush has been making for the last 8 years?

Scare the people into voting for you... that's putting country first.

My guess is that the terrorist have never even heard of ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio, much less be able to find it on a map, much less target it for any type of attack.

These people have target envy. All the places that actually were attacked on 9/11 voted against Bush.

People who are affected by this type of political fear mongering need to stop voting. The politicians responsible need to stop running for office because they are not showing true leadership.

Louvene   October 12th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

Sarah Palin is dangerous pushing some "sicko " to think if Obama is elected, we would be doomed. So in their mind, the only thing left to do is remove him from the earth. How will this "Christian' woman feel then.

michaeld37   October 12th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

Did Palin actually tell the audience that the crowd's anger should be put into action?! I mean, sure, through the medium of McCain*Palin, but still. The violent rhetoric is too good to give up entirely. It is okay to be angry and your anger should be put into action! Acting from anger – isn't that what the terrorists do when the kill us because they hate our freedom and what we stand for? Where is the hope?

C   October 12th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

Was Palin suggesting that Barack Obama is one of the “bad guys,” a "terrorist?"

You bethcha! Doggone it!

Vi   October 12th, 2008 9:43 pm ET

Could you convey this to Campbell B and Anderson C, please. (I'm sure you wouldn't want to publish it, but I'd appreciate if you could get this to them.):

We do want change in the US and getting Obama into the Presidency would show how liberal we've become. Fine. You want McCain to accept this even though he seems to have dedicated his life to public office and to securing the highest office.
You two, despite your attempts at objectivity, want Obama in the White House. NOW, a personal note: Are you two prepared to let a non-white person take your place at CNN to show how changed the US is? There are several of your guests that are as good as and even better than you two. Give the other race a chance. Show McCain how to do it! Tell your bosses that you have some good Obama-like contenders for your position. Don't just ask McCain to make the sacrifice.

Dan   October 12th, 2008 9:42 pm ET

obama is a bad guy. OK?

John   October 12th, 2008 9:42 pm ET

I can't believe that anyone could fall for this nonsense. This sounds like a witch hunt – the sort of thing that went on in the Middle Ages. How can the Republicans expect to govern effectively by dividing the country so – unless the real purpose is simply to win the election at all cost and not really worry about the consequences.

Louvene   October 12th, 2008 9:42 pm ET

Sarah Palin is dangerous pushing some "sicko " to think if Obama is elected, we would be doomed. So in their mind, the only thing left to do is remove him from the earth. How will this "Christian' woman feel then.

Cole Los Angeles   October 12th, 2008 9:38 pm ET

You'll never be able to defeat terrorists if you don't understand what breeds them. So you can grasp a morsel of actual knowledge for a moment, terrorists don't hate freedom or liberty. What their culture hates and doesn't forget is arrogance and conceitedness, overthrowing governments and invasions. Try embracing books once and a while.

Nation in Crisis   October 12th, 2008 9:38 pm ET

"Who exactly were the “bad guys” Palin was referring to?"
This is a rhetorical question. By inference and innuendo she was clearly referring to Barack Obama. This must be the "toned down" version of the McCain campaign's smear campaign.

It's shameful that many Christians, have been deceived by the GOP.
McPalin ad's are now 100% negative, and Obama's ads are 34 % negative.

It is unfortunate that the media has left this woman continue using code words to insite people against OBAMA. She is a pure redneck and a product of failed uneducated person (s) who happen to have been placed in power.

LUCY TREDWAY   October 12th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

Think it is time for people to start thinking about something besides money. What good will money be to us if we get the terriest over here in out country. We need security and only McCain will give that to us.

Barbara Brown   October 12th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

This woman Sara Palin is very incapable of even speaking. John McCain thought he was doing something really smart whe he chose her.She is a loose cannon. She will be trying to rule McCain and tell him what to do. He is apologizing to Obama on one hand and she is continueing to insite threats from the crowds against Obama on the other hand. He and he is so call running mate need to get on the same page. He is not going to win any way but she is makeing it bad for his future also. He needs to sit her down.

Amanda/PA   October 12th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

Typical. Everyone can hear the subtle "undertone" in her message. So sad that a country is so divided becuase of race and so called religion. If only some would pick up a book, newspaper, someting...anything and READ.

Johnny Truth   October 12th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

To the moon   October 12th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

AND how is Palin different from those Washington politicians that she's going to 'clean up'? Troopergate shows us America who is 'good' and who is 'bad'. Bad is using power in inappropriate ways, via her husband or her employees... and her own actions by not putting a stop to what her husband and others were doing and saying. That is as good as 'driving' the car for the bank robbers, she's guilty, too. Shame on her. By her husbands on admission, he and she were very close, helping each other, so WE KNOW she knew what he was doing and saying. Sarah is the bad guy....

Ian Rennie   October 12th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

An Obama presidency would spell the end of America as we have known it. Imagine the Supreme Court Justices he would appoint to saddle another two generations with!

And with a totally unchecked Democratic Congress, we would most certainly be looking at the first time ever when one of the First Ten Amendments will be repealed, namely the Second which has up until now protected our Right to Bear Arms.

I am an independent voter and not a party loyalist. I have voted for republicans most of my voting years, including John McCain (I was raised in southern Az). I served with the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer with two tours in Iraq. I SHOULD be voting for John McCain...but I'm not. He has shown poor leadership and lack of integrity as can be seen by most of the articles here on the ticker, but that's not the reason I'm not voting for him. HE VOTED AGAINST US when he refused to support Sen. Webb's (Vietnam war era Marine infantry officer) GI Bill, a bill that Sen. Obama/Sen. Biden were co-sponsors of. He caved to anti-immigrant groups, when anyone who has served in a combat unit can tell you that immigrants fight for us with more ferocity than any hate-spewing conservative coward. No, I am not conservative, I am not liberal, I am an AMERICAN PATRIOT, and like so many of my fellow veterans, I support Sen. Obama. Not because he is the anti-Bush, but because he is a leader with vision, vision for healtcare, vision for intelligent foreign policy, vision for domestic economic strength, and vision for strengthening our military, vision that the GOP sadly does not offer. We have fought for your right to vote America, don't waste it.

Brandon   October 12th, 2008 9:33 pm ET

Which side is it that abuses their power and breaks the law, lies to the American people and refuses to abide by the Constitution when subpoenaed to testify? Good or bad?

Sarah Palin warned the audience about the threat of terrorism, and explained that the Republican ticket should be elected because “we know who the bad guys are.”

I believe this. The Republicans do know. After all, the Saud Family and Bin Laden family contacts have been in Bush's Roladex for decades.

So not only do they know "who they are", they have the phone numbers!!!

Everyone knows what they're seeing, and it's ugly. With all my heart, I hope Obama becomes president and makes our country a better place for my children.

Saxxon Domela   October 12th, 2008 9:32 pm ET

It is so very sad that the McCain-Palin ticket's strategy is to turn American against American.

she didn't draw any lines?
she just vaguely indicated that 'THEY' are scary Boogeymen that you don't know and can't trust.

Who Is THE real Sarah Palin? A lying, cheating, smear mouthed christian.

These people make christian a four letter word.

Stick to the issues

Nathan   October 12th, 2008 9:32 pm ET

This woman is a Bush in a skirt.

What a disgrace. This "us" vs "them" rhetoric is dangerous, and bordering on fascism.

What is wrong with you Republicans? Are you really as stupid and rabid as your moronic VP candidate?

I'm an independent voter. What I've seen out of the Republican party over the past month has made me a solid Democrat.

Good going Palin!

Sarah, please leave us some respect for you; I hope you still have some self-esteem left.

Brenda C   October 12th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

What do you want McCain and Palin to say to supporters? They can't control what a few people do or say. I'm sure if it was reported it happens when Obama mentions McCain or Sarah Palin. Quit trying to delegate what they are suppose to say and how they say it. No one has cried racist more than the media and democrats. It's not racist to want facts and information from our candidates. Watch some of the debates between Clinton and Obama she said most of the same things McCain and Palin are talking about. She brought up Ayers and how not ready Obama is to run this country. Didn't cry about her and try to pin racism on her.

lynnie   October 12th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

Palin stirs people to hate. That;s not what america is supposed to be about. She is a bully and trouble maker, she is stupid. She acts like a teenage gang leader, name caller and twister of the truth. Not a good example for american youths. Is this what we want as a leader?
I could see her throwing the first stone or landing the first kick, shameful.

Sammy   October 12th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

Her campaign clarified statements as all campaigns do. However at the time she said it the meaning was ambiguous enough to suggest many things... not just "nations". Since people yelled "Obama" after she said it, obviously that is how some interpreted it. Thats the usual thing. But what matters is whether or not someone running for office will clarify things in front of an open mic in front of a crowd. Not just press statements.

Jan E   October 12th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

This woman is playing on people fears and creating an atmosphere of hate around the country with her speeches. Anyone, I mean anyone who tries to win an election with tactics like these have to make you wonder if they understand what it is to be an American!! These are the tactics of militants who are inciting a violent uprising to wreak havoc in our democracy and destabilize our society. This is scary stuff indeed, something you would see in third world countries prior to a bloody civil war.

tunghoy   October 12th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

Palin's comments at her rallies are beyond the Pale. Her supporters scream racist hatred at her opponent and she does little to discourage them. It often seems that she encourages them. And she has the chutzpah to say it's her opponents who hate America!

Maybe she thinks this is some sort of banana republic. Perhaps if she had a decent education and an understanding of world history, she would understand that she is going down a very dangerous road.

Sarah Palin continues to show how predjuice she and John McCain are every time they use the word 'terrorist' in their campaign speeches. They are so desperate that they will sell their souls to the devil just to win. They are not interested in how any of their hateful commentary hurts anyone as long as they win. They have set race relations back 40 years. Next they are going to ask for separate lunch counters.

Charlie in Maine   October 12th, 2008 9:30 pm ET

Suppose for a moment that McSame and Palin manage to stir enough hatred in the soul of Amerca to win this thing. How then will they be able to "reach across the aisle" if they win by lying and whippin up hatred. What Obama is ding now is laying the groundwork for governing efectively and they are laying the ground work for polarization that would make the Bush administration seem like consensous builders.

Matt   October 12th, 2008 9:29 pm ET

Equal Rights? Sarah Palin is screaming that she is for equal rights?

How about the fair wages for women? How about civil unions for same-sex couples? How about not playing the race card every chance she gets?

She is such a joke. McCain should have picked Kay Bailey-Hutchison

Marie   October 12th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

anger at insider lobbyist? would that be McCain's campaign managers?

Lori   October 12th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

It's a total shame what McCain/Palin are doing. They are trying to instill fear in Americans by trying to imply that Obama supports terrorism in any way just because of his middle name and trying to imply a relationship with a man that is obviously not there.

The sad part is is that it may actually work due to ignorance on our part.

Do we really want a VP who is obviously vindictive? That has been proven. Do we really want a VP in office who is unqualified for that position? Do we want a VP in office who can not even remember the name of a newspaper that she read when she refers to a particular article? Do we want a VP who can not name but one Supreme Court ruling that she disagrees with when she says there are several? Do we want a VP who allows her husband to have such a strong role in politics when he knows nothing?

Do we want a President who shows total disrespect to his peers? Who calls an opponent "That One" and does not even apologize for his remarks? Do we want a President or Vice President that applaudes when the audience cries out "terrorist", "traitor", and or "kill him" when they raise the name Obama?

Is this what we want for our country? Someone who has no understanding of our Economic system, let alone someone who has no clue how to fix it? Do we want a president that will just parrot the same failed policies as Bush? Do we want a President who jokes around about "Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran? Do we want a president who wants to be in Iraq for another 100 years?

I am a first time voter, first time involved with even watching what's going on as far as this or any campaign is going and I'm totally appaled. it should be more important to get your strengths and plans across instead of putting down, telling outright lies, and misleading the public about his opponent. I realize that McCain is trying to win, apparently at any cost. But I hope that he and Palin realize that what they are doing is a total disgrace, not to mention just flat out wrong. I hope they one day wake up and feel the shame that they should and I pray to God everyday that nothing should happen to Obama and or his family because of the fear they are trying to instill in the american public. Should that happen I hope they know that it will be on their hands and no one elses.

Michelle Obama has shown nothing but grace and poise during this very rough campaign season and I applaud that with all my heart.

Tony   October 12th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

I can ot believe the hate that the Gov. has torwards Sen. Obama..It is interesting that she does not care how her words bring abot a lotr of anger to America...The hatered to Sen. Obama & the those who he represents is really sad. We are Americans first not Republican or Democrats. MAybe she forgot that... we have made so much proress as America to not put up with this type of hatered. As an Republicain I am saddedn and will vote for Obama only because I can see how this type of converstaion brings unity...It reminds me of the hatered I experienced as an Black American because of the color of my skin..Someone please explain this to her...Thank you

Adrienne   October 12th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

She is trying to get Obama killed. It is that simple. She has little grasp of some basic human nature and few ethics. That shows.

Kyle   October 12th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

Gov. Palin, I find one fallacy in your statement. We do not have equal rights, though it is advertised that we do. Women and minorities still make less than I, as a white man does. My African wife, when looking at houses last year, was denied the same showings that were offered to me later. I stray...

I'm sorry to inform you, hard as it might be, as an independent voter, I have been pushed away from the McCain ticket by the McCain ticket. I honestly do not care about terrorism nearly as much as the economy. I want to know what can or will (wishfull thinking) be done to keep my parents from losing their retirements and having to bunk with my family. The falling stock market, the stagflation facing America. Reading the polls, that is a similar feeling throughout the independent and undecided voters, pandering just the the seemingly shrinkiing conservative Republican base. Talking of being the ticket to beat terrorism and abortions seems like it is just alieniating voters like myself and doing nothing to help your ticket overcome this slide in the polls to win the election. These are why I am disenfranchised with the Republican ticket and will not vote that way this fall, unless you drop the rhetoric on terrorism, though Important, and abortion and tell or show the Americans, or at least me, how you will reestablish the economic supremecy of America from the days gone!

Irishspacemonk   October 12th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

Does she not have the capability to listen to the crowd while she speaks? If she shouts "bad guys" and the crowd shouts "Obama" and she shouts "terrorists," how is that supporting the claim that she's calling Obama a terrorist. What a fascist pig and all her supporters.

I have always believed and continue to be believe that John McCain is a man of honor. I was happy to see that McCain corrected those at his rally who made the most dispicable of suggestions about Senator Obama. I do NOT extend that same respect to Palin who clearly wants to suggest the most outrageous of alligations against a US Senator.

To McCain supports:
Please vote for John McCain because you believe in his policies and his experience. Please don't let it be due to the RECKLESS and UNFOUNDED allegations of a desperate campaign. FEAR is the only message this woman puts out there.

If you believe that the last 7 years has gone ok, then McCain is a viable option. If you believe our great nation has been on the wrong path for the last 7 years thene there is only 1 choice....

Sara Palin is using the old George Bush play book that tells the big lie, uses scary words and inuendo to manipulate voters. Voters need to remember how the last eight years have hurt Ohio and reject this nonsense or the pain Ohio and the country will feel after 2008 will make the last eight years look tame by comparison. Does Ohio really want more of the same?

The real question of the election is how are the candidates going to address the economic mess handed to them by Bush. How can we be better off 4 years from now?

37-year-old First Time Voter   October 12th, 2008 9:24 pm ET

You are so grossly unqualified that I can't believe people still want to put you in the white house.

It is quite clear that Sarah Palin is determined to rile up her base by demonizing Obama. Her hate filled rhetoric should be reported in the media for what it is, and I thank CNN for publizing her policy of division and chaos. It is a shame that McCain, with his years in the senate, is looking the other way as his sidekick kicks up dust in the face of Americans who are not white and not christian. This is unAmerican and unpatriotic. This is worse than McCarthyism that has been inflicted on us during the Bush years and will continue till someone say "Senator McCain and Governor Palin, have you no decency."

You cannot insight hate and fear in people by spewing divisive words such as "Those who sympathize and support those terrorists who would seek to destroy all that it is that we value, those are the bad guys, OK?” and not expect your partisan audience to think you mean "That One"

And then pretend that the anger and fear and threats of violence are "about the arrogance of the Washington elite".

Are you joking? Next she'll be handing out flyers of Obama with Moose antler's on while Cindy McCain gives free helicopter rides.

post this.

Enough of Palin already! Gov. Palin is a joke, a VERY BAD joke. Oh so you know who the "bad guys" are now do you? Well you had better take a look at your campaign's downer list, you'd better look at the people running the Palin-McCain campaign, you'd better look in the mirror. You have no credibility with all of the lies and half truths you've been spinning since day one.

Yup, she is one Christian person all right. One real honest good guy who will ride into Washington and clean up the mess. Tell ya what, how about you clean up your own house first there. You betcha!

I've come to believe Palin is a pathological liar. She wouldn't know the truth if it was a 25 pound salmon that jumped out of the water and smacked her in the face.

mike   October 12th, 2008 9:23 pm ET

Who is this woman to be defining our national "line" between good guys and bad guys? Or for that matter, to be interpreting the sources of anger? I guess she has a pulpit from which to spew her nonsense, but come on, she has no more credibility than any other citizen, and I suspect less resonance with the majority of Americans than has her Joe Six Pack idiot constituency.

If I were to go to a creepy neighborhood and find a creepy group of people - stupid, bigoted, hateful, fearful - I could find people talking the same way Palin is talking. Those kooks in the news at the recent McCain rallies, if they were allowed to go on and speak, would have said the things Palin is saying. Palin is reaching out to the most appalling elements of American society in her bid for power, much like Hitler reached out in the 1930s. Thank God there are fewer Americans to be taken in than there were Germans?

McCain is a good guy that seems to have lost his way but I am not so sure Palin is a 'good guy' on so many levels she is the bad guy here. Anyone found to have abused power is not a good guy. Look at how she has conducted herself: she has not evern attempted to quiet the crowd when they scream hateful speech at her rally. I have lost my respect for her as a woman.

I am appalled that Palin gets away with so much. The media has been very prejudice in the coverage of this election. Here we have someone like Palin that is not interviewed except by 3 journalists that were approved by the GOP. she has a teen pregnancy in her family, There are questions about her "born again faith" as being radical, she is not well educated and has no foreign policy experience, she incites anger and hate at the rallys and she lies continuously about Obama. and she was found guilty of abusing her powers of gov. of Alaska. I have watched this election on all the channels. It is shameful that Barack Obama has had to say and do more to defend himself because of his race. I am ashamed of my country, that we have not moved on from racisim and bigotry

bob   October 12th, 2008 9:21 pm ET

hmm! Dressed in black with a bunch of pumpkins around..... were is her broom? What I cannot understand about Sara is that she claims to be a Christian but she campaigns by spreading fear. The bible says that the Lord doesn't give you a spirit of fear. So ........ any way. I have faith that the majority of Americans will get a whiff of this and vote for someone who will address the most important issues like the economy and health care.

Pat from Canada   October 12th, 2008 9:21 pm ET

McCain is a good guy that seems to have lost his way but I am not so sure Palin is a 'good guy' on so many levels she is the bad guy here. Anyone found to have abused power is not a good guy. Look at how she has conducted herself: she has not evern attempted to quiet the crowd when they scream hateful speech at her rally. (That is abuse of power at its heights.) That is not a good guy characteristics. Obama will win because she is running McCain's message theme. She brings up these issues then McCain gets caught explaining diverting attention away from where he should be focused. Meanwhile, Obama just takes the high road and ignores McCain/Palin's lies and so, this tactic has not derailed Obama the least bit. So, that is why she is another reason that she is the 'bad guy' here. I am a woman and this is not the way you support your mate.

G.O.   October 12th, 2008 9:21 pm ET

We all should be very, very concerned about this type of speech and what we have been hearing from Sarah Palin over the past several weeks. This is the essence of fascism and reflects how the national socialists ("nazis") came to power in Germany in the 1930's. It is an appeal to fear; it blames whatever may trouble the listener on unnamed or suggested enemies, i.e. the scapegoat.

Remember, one of Palin's first efforts as mayor of Wasilla was to inquire about how to ban books from the public library. She has shown that she has no appreciation for the richness of our pluralistic society and will appeal to the basest of fears in order to advance her agenda. John McCain showed us that he was unfit to be president when he selected her as his VP choice.

Given the vitriolic speech over the past week, this sure sounds like Palin is saying Obama=Bad Guy. The USA will weigh & measure the GOP ticket on November 4th, and find them unwanted. As a middle-aged white male, I find the racist, hate-filled speech from the McCain-Palin ticket to be disgusting. Thankfully, it seems that their words are only landing on the ears of the base, and that the independents and moderate GOP are beginning to say, loud and clear, that this is not the type of nation we want.

Obama and Biden know that no matter what is said about them they are Patriotic Americans, and so are John McCain and Sarah Palin, but we're sick of all the hatred. It astonishes me that anyone who is not a millionare would vote for the GOP. The school lunch program, head start, social security, the civil rights movement, these are the ideals of the Democratic Party. I want a leader who will fight for people not for companies, big oil, wall street, defense contractors those are the ideals of today's Republican Party. Jess   October 12th, 2008 9:20 pm ET

Sarah Palin is right. Elect John McCain. He knows right from wrong, good from evil, and has no terrorist pals. Obama cannot say the same.

Andrea E-Atlanta   October 12th, 2008 9:20 pm ET

Go home you liar! The American people have had it with all of the lies and the rhetoric. Who are the bad guys? You, McBush and all of your cronies. You all lied about 9/11, you lied about the WMD's and you are lying now. We are sick of the lies. Whatever happened to the Straight Talk Express? I guess straight talk doesn't necessarily mean truth talk. I know third graders who can formulate better sentences than Sarah Fallin.

Very Concern Voter   October 12th, 2008 9:19 pm ET

Is Gov. Palin still on this terrorist kick?

Marylou   October 12th, 2008 9:19 pm ET

I have a lot of anger...anger at the Republicans and their non-issue propaganda. McCain actually called John Lewis on his comments...which were right on target. Palin is not a reformer..she is an antagonist. Much like the terrorists that she speaks of..she could incite a war all by herself.

Dana from NY   October 12th, 2008 9:19 pm ET

Palin=Biggoted Fear Monger!

Vote Obama/Biden for Unity and Change for ALL Americans

Candice in Texas   October 12th, 2008 9:19 pm ET

I'm soo sick of Palin! I wish she'd just shut up already! Her five minutes of fame are over and now it's just a sick joke! She's a terrible, divisive, unqualified, ignorant VP. Please send her back to Alaska by voting Obama/Biden in November!! I would never want America's first female VP to be anything like Palin.

Pat from Canada   October 12th, 2008 9:19 pm ET

McCain is a good guy that seems to have lost his way but I am not so sure Palin is a 'good guy'. So, that is why she is another reason she is the 'bad guy' here. I am a woman and this is not the way you support your mate.

David in CA   October 12th, 2008 9:19 pm ET

Washington Elite, hmm? You mean George Bush and John McCain, Sarah?

Anonymous   October 12th, 2008 9:18 pm ET

She is dangerous and divisive. It is sad that we allow her to promote this type of hatred, especially against an American citizen....She should be ashamed of herself.

Angus   October 12th, 2008 9:17 pm ET

The good guys certainly don't abuse their position to pursue personal vendettas.

Joel Miller   October 12th, 2008 9:16 pm ET

Palin is pandering to the comic book reader in all of us. Ohio and the midwest has heard the demagogues before: Bush, Cheney, Rove, Pat Buchanen and still the factories closed and the small farms were largely destroyed.

G. Cobb   October 12th, 2008 9:16 pm ET

Palin is a joke!

Pat   October 12th, 2008 9:16 pm ET

This woman is incredibly dangerous! She just doesn't get it that her rhetoric is so inciteful......and she calls herself someone who loves America. for a ticket that wants to say they can work together with everyone, they are incredibly, incredibly divisive.

Bob   October 12th, 2008 9:16 pm ET

This has to be a joke.

NJVote08   October 12th, 2008 9:14 pm ET

Why is it that only McCain and Palin are the only ones who know who the bad guys are, and they are the only ones who really know how to fix whatever the problems are in this country?

Dee   October 12th, 2008 9:14 pm ET

Before voting for McCain, the voters will surely ask themselves if they honestly view Gov. Palin ready to take on the role of President should something unforeseen prevent McCain from doing so. This woman is nowhere near ready for the role of V.P. much less the Presidency. Voters must make a responsible decision!!!

johnrj08   October 12th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

Palin knows who the bad guys are. After all, she can see them from her front porch. This is yet another gob of mud she's throwing at Barack Obama, implying that, unlike her, he fraternizes with America's enemies and is probably an enemy himself. Forget the fact that her husband is the only one who's been on the stage during this campaign who has said he hates the American government and wants his state to secede from the Union. Based on the recent report out of Alaska which stated she was guilty of abuse of power, Todd Palin has been the de facto governor of Alaska for the last two years. Oh yeah. Let's all rush to the polls and vote those two into the White House. Sheesh.

jan   October 12th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

She's such a farce. Go back to Alaska, Palin.

JayInNewHampshire   October 12th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

On msnbc she actually said at this rally that McCain would stop government "abuse of power". Does that mean he's kicking her off the ticket. Talking about terrorists give me a break it's the economy stupid.

Marie   October 12th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

Such a liar.I hope people saw Hillary Clinton today on C-SPAN now that is a great woman that care about the american people not someone that use lies and hold rallies with hate baiting.Palin is pathedic. She was booed at the Philadephia Flyers game this weekend because people are sick of these cruel attacks towards Obama and heard Friday how she abused her power to get a hard working man fired from his job.I can only hope that americans will see this finacial crisis we are in and know which is more important the economy or no factual reason to beleive that Obama is a terriost,or pals with Ayers as they would want you to beleive. You americans are smarter than this.Look at what they are doing to you and trust me once they are in the white house it will be the same as the last eight years. Why do you think Palin or McCain have not mention Bush's name? because they are trying to distract you it's as simple as that and if you don't beleive me and go ahead and vote for them and if they get elected it will be a vote you'll regret for the next 4 years

David   October 12th, 2008 9:12 pm ET

Sarah is inciting her audience with her lines and this is racial approach. She is doing anything to get the votes. Lol.. Hope nothing happen to Obama.

Dr. S. Strathdee   October 12th, 2008 9:12 pm ET

Give me a break Gov. Palin. All you see is black and white in this world, and your simplistic view of foreign policy and terrorism is an insult to all Americans. If you make it to the White House, we should all duck and cover. You have one polished fingernai hovering over the button, and we can't afford to let you get any closer.

Bill   October 12th, 2008 9:12 pm ET

Palin says: "There’s anger about the insider dealing of lobbyists" Is she referring to the multitude of lobbyists that make up the McCain/Palin campaign staff or others?

The hypocrisy is as astounding, as the media's refusal to call them on it.

Francheska Georgia   October 12th, 2008 9:12 pm ET

More of this Cowboys and Indians stuff huh? LOL!! Good guys and Bad guys, Us versus Them... she sounds more and more like George Bush everyday.

Juan Grain   October 12th, 2008 9:12 pm ET

Palin needs to be straight with the people. The "Bad guys" are also those that abuse Executive power and betray public trust (Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.) Otherwise known as Alaska Law. She's no Maverick just B.S. and unable to handle the simplest of power.

re   October 12th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

Cheney in a dress.

I am sorry I don't mean to insult Cheney. She is much worse because of her incompetence in world affairs.

Obama 08

James Bailey   October 12th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

Did she draw any lines between the smart guys and the dumb guys? It's pretty easy to see which side she's on there.

Marilyn   October 12th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

Sarah Palin in a hate monger & a fear monger.

Mom in PA   October 12th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

So now Obama is a bad guy?!? These statement are why John Lewis said yesterday that the McCain ticket is PLAYING WITH FIRE!!!! Palin is knowingly stirring up fear in people and it really scares me. Our country is scared right now due to the economy and to try to divert people's fears and place them on Obama is dangerous, not only to him but to all of us who want to move forward in our Nation and not return to the turbulance of the 1960's.

It is time for McCain to not only tell his supports at rallies to be more respectful – IT IS TIME FOR HIM TO TELL PALIN TO BE RESPECTFUL!!!

william   October 12th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

when is the media going to demand that this woman do a press conference? this is crazy she needs to talk to the real press not fox.

Duncan   October 12th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

OK, McCain needs to step in and put a stop to this. Palin's remarks are irresponsible and dangerous. It is understandable that she and McCain want to win the election, but it is also pretty clear by now that there is at least a 50% chance that Obama will be elected. Sarah Palin is purposefully stoking the fires of hatred against a man who very well might be President in January.

If the crowds' responses are any indication, Palin is getting exactly the reaction she wanted. Now, instead of just disagreeing with Obama and thinking McCain would make a better President, many McCain supporters are convinced that Obama is anti-American, is in league with terrorists, and is part of some terrible and secret conspiracy to overthrow the government.

Every time Palin makes comments like these and McCain stands back and lets it happen (or worse, takes part in it himself), he is participating in something so dangerous and vile that it shocks even the most hardened and cynical political observers. What will John McCain say if one of these hate-induced nut-jobs crosses the line and commits an act of violence against an Obama staffer? Worse yet, what if they hurt Obama himself? What excuse will McCain have for allowing this tone of intolerance and hate to continue?

Diane Dagenais Turbide   October 12th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

The same old speech of good guys versus bad guys. This is not a western movie it is a serious election.

Jane White   October 12th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

This is still hateful rhetoric. Palin can wash her hands of saying that she was referring to Obama directly – but her audience knows that's what she was inferring. She should be held responsible and accountable for her fear-mongering...

"Bad guys?" What is this? a spaghetti western?

I've never seen anyone say absolutely NOTHING and still get cheered, as Sarah Palin has done. She's as vague and empty as they come. About those "bad guys" who don't understand our freedoms and liberties and "EQUAL RIGHTS." Is she referring to equal pay for equal work, which has still not been achieved in our country? Is she referring to the rights of gay couples to adopt children who need a loving home, which her opponent opposes? THOSE equal rights?

I think "bad guys" should include Palin's own husband Todd, who belonged for several years to the Alaskan Independence Party – a party whose charter includes voting to SECEDE from the U.S.! Country First? Take a look at this dangerous woman........She's BAD for the country, and I have no respect for her hate speeches. She's inciting anger and rage – and the country will be more polarized than ever if she gets her way!

Northwest Washington   October 12th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

Terrorist, Terrorist, Terrorist. I saw this movie in 2004 and 2006. The Republicans were in charge over a year when we got hit on 9/11 and have got us into two wars. Now John McCain is licking his chops to get us into another war with Iran while our country is going down the financial tube.

Tiff in OK   October 12th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

WOW. She just doesn't stop does she? The "bad guys"? Her team is the bad guys. They know dang well this country is in the hole and they can't do anything about it. They aren't thinking of the people. They just don't want a Democrat in the white house. I'm sorry, but the people I know aren't Joe-six-packs, or hockey moms. Kind of hard to be a hockey mom when you can't afford the costs that go along with it. It's ridiculous and the fact that she can be so fake makes me even wonder how people are still showing up to the rallies. Talk about drinking the Koolaid!!

Hotdog   October 12th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

There she goes again inciting the crowds with hatred. This lady is ridiculous.

Will the REAL bad guy please stand up!

IT'S SARA PALIN misusing her power. That's what I call terrifying.

Sue   October 12th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

This is truly becoming scary and ridiculous. We go from Palin telling crowds that Obama "pals around" with terrorists, to her telling crowds that anyone who befriends terrorists is the "bad guy". Hmmm...so what point is she trying to make? This is getting out of hand and, in my opinion, is only inciting violence against Obama. Come on McCain, if you truly respect Obama and want a respectful campaign, stop this woman!!

BT   October 12th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

As Ashland, Ohio is dying I see a woman who believes the distortions of Palin. What this woman does not seem to understand is that since she lost her job she will more than likely be relying on Medicaid for her grandchild. McCain wants to cut 1.3 million dollars from medicare. Go ahead and vote for McCain, lady, you are screwed!
If you care about your kids and grandkids VOTE OBAMA!
He is the "good" guy – not the Republican jokers that don't care about you!

Aaron   October 12th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

The fear-mongering that the republican ticket has to do to stay afloat is becoming disgusting. One would hope you could at least attempt to lead with dignity. However, it would not seem so.

BamaFan   October 12th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

McCain + Palin = McPain. Palin is dumber than a box of rocks. McCain did not put 'country first' by making this religious right-oriented pick. By playing to the pathetic, foolish and ignorant religious right McCain proved he should not be President. Roll Tide!

Kentucky Woman   October 12th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

Sarah Palin, you're one of the bad guys. You were just found guilty for abusing your power. An elected official should never abuse HER power for personal revenge. That's all we need in the white house. Wake up, people. She is the bad gal!

lawyerlady   October 12th, 2008 9:08 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a disgrace. I am glad she will never set her foot in northern California. Fear and hatred and isolationism. Quite a campaign they are running.

Papasan in Arizona   October 12th, 2008 9:08 pm ET

The last resort of all Failing Republican Campaigns is to energize the base, Right Wing Looneys! Sure they are mad, they are waking up from a long peaceful Bush slumber, to find two morons [McCain/Palin], with a disturbing megalomaniac love affair with themselves, out of touch with our Nations true issues, and engaging in a revolting Smear and Fear campaign! That's a tough wake up call, "MY FRIENDS"!
The McCain inept solution is an Ignorant Slang Talking Power Hungry Junk Yard Dog [Palin] scampering around the Nation drumming up Racist Bigotry. The obvious erratic incompetence of the McCain/Palin campaign should provide evidence enough that they are unfit for any public office. Americans face the hardest financial disaster in the History of the USA, this is your idea of Change/Solutions/Ansewrs! John McCain / Sarah Palin have no idea what Americans trying to survive face. 401K plans gutted, Unemployment, Foreclosures, and the Global Economy in disarray...
McCain/Palin are a disgusting self serving disgrace. Clearly proving they are not up to the complex task of keeping the Nation together in hard times.

P.S. McCain, please do not come back here to Arizona.

I am so amazed of her ignorance.

OBAMA/BIDEN "08"

Simmy   October 12th, 2008 9:08 pm ET

McCain is a coward, POW he was years ago, poor excuse of a politician now. He's a little Chihuahua hiding behind his mistresses barking-an empty wagon making a lot of noise. I pray that Obama wins by a landslide, then we can send him, CIndy, Palin, his swiftboarders: T. Boone Pickens, Rove and company and his audience, to form the Republic of Alaska, if Alaska will have them. America the Great has no place for dividers and spoilers like them! Thank you.

Rashawn   October 12th, 2008 9:08 pm ET

So instead of calling Obama's name, to get around it, she just say's "People." Even Worse!

Gerald Sider   October 12th, 2008 9:08 pm ET

Anyone who believes that the ignorance of Palin and the arrogance of McCain is a substitute for understanding deserves four more years of Bush/Cheney/Rove – and a debt burden that will destroy the lives of your children and grandchildren when the bill comes due.

Stanley   October 12th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

Sarah, you need to make it clear who you are talking about when you say "bad guy," this way, your supporters can know who to direct their anger towords – I hope Sen. Obama is not one of the bad guys!

Kentucky Woman   October 12th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

This is a woman who was found guilty for abusing her power, and she still can draw crowds. Where are the morals of these American citizens?

The Truth   October 12th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

That's the exact same line Bush used to get reelected in 04, by inciting fear in the hearts of voters. If Ohio falls for this garbage again then they truly deserve McCain and the continuation of the Bush policies (more economic disaster).

OBAMA/BIDEN'08   October 12th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

OBVIOUSLY, SHE'S STILL PREACHING THE SAME MESSAGE IN A DIFFERENT WAY. IN OTHER WORDS, SHE'S TILL CALLLING OBAMA A TERRORIST. THIS WOMAN NEEDS TO CHANGE HER MESSAGE, STOP SPREADING RUMORS, AND FOCUS ON THE REAL ISSUES.
BETTER YET, SHE NEEDS TO TAKE HER AZZ TO ALASKA.

JulesT   October 12th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

What is Palin, a person, who has no clue, thinking; that people are actually that gullible to buy into her claims that she is a good choice. Think about it, the probability of her actually having to act as president is 30%, which are some pretty good odds; now that is scary. She is not only unprepared, but unethical; our country would be decimated.

Shelley   October 12th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

What a sad, sad example of narcissism; one that justifies the spreading of lies, inuendo, and fear as a means of self-promotion.

Samantha   October 12th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

It's great that she wants to have a government of the people, by the people, for the people. But by that she means that the government will abuse ethics laws, hide emails that should be in the public record, and use doublethink to say one thing one day, then another thing the next and claim that's what they were saying all along.

Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Right?

devon   October 12th, 2008 9:05 pm ET

Here we go again... first it was the McCain is the "conservative, experienced" ticket, then the polls showed him behind and so he gave up the experienced part of his plan and picked Palin as his running mate and picked up the "we are better at change than Obama is" ticket, then the polls still dropped and we then had the Obama hangs out with Terrorists and we are the Mavericks" ticket, and now we have the "we know who the terrorists are and they don't" ticket... Will the real McCain/Palin ticket please stand up?

I don't want to vote for someone that feels they have to re-invent themselves to win... I want vote for the person who's message has won enough votes to win... McCain and Palin... do what is right for the country and tell us what you will stand for and tell us what you will do to change this economy around instead of these ignorant attacks that mean nothing... I still have no idea what you will change when you get into office and what you will do the same.

. . . .Her crowd is thinning out I see.

Cindy, Kansas City   October 12th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

Palin should know about "bad guys," she and her husband are two of them. "Abuse of Power by the Powerful" is the perfect description of these two. Now she wants to brag about how her executive experience includes being the manager of her son's hockey team and how she exhorts her son to make each penalty count. What, to cause serious bodily injury to another player? Sounds like bad guys to me but also very very small in her world view and certainly inadequate as a mother.

T - Bone   October 12th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

It will not work in 2008. Didn't she get the memo? She has not said anything intelligent throughout her 1mth or so on the campaigh trail.

This story, and Sarah Palin, frightens the hell out of me. Palin's speeches are bordering on the Hitler'esque. He was good at blaming "the others" for all the world's problems as well.

Blake   October 12th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

"Liberty, freedom, equal rights." Apparently that doesn't include the "freedom to choose."

And I have to wonder how she feels about the right to freedom from illegal wire taps and baseless fear-mongering. She's clearly all for the "freedom of speech" since her's tends to just wander all over the place. "Yukon Gold" I tell you... since she's got the sentence forming ability of a potato.

She is not getting it   October 12th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

She doesn't even comprehend what she is saying to the American people here. It is sad day in America!

Angie, Arizona   October 12th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

What a hateful half-wit. She is Cruella DeVille. I hope they impeach and imprison her beauty queen self.

Retired Military Wife   October 12th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

You, Sarah Palin, are a threat to what is good in America. I have lost all respect for John McCain and the campaign he is running. Shame on you. Your legacy will always be win at all costs. By picking Palin as your V.P. and the hatred you are spreading sickens me. Yesterday, a lady dressed in the Statue of Liberty costume was standing on the corner of our town in Alabama holding up hate filled signs calling my choice for president Osama Hussein, and other comments I shall not repeat. I am truely saddened by the tactics you are allowing to happen. This, my friend, will be your legacy.

This power-mad and inarticulate woman is making the US a laughingstock. As one who abuses her power, she is a "bad guy." America cannot risk having these two garner more power, particularly after Bush expanded those powers.

Just say "Thanks, but no thanks" to McCain/Palin.

Rodger   October 12th, 2008 9:03 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a hate monger...besides being the most ignorant person ever picked to run for VP. Not her fault, she is who she is, IT JUST IS A REFLECTION AS TO JOHN MACCAIN'S JUDGEMENT!!!
It is a fact that John McCain pushed for the deregulations that brought us to this point, it's also a fact he want's to continue the same Bush policies...whould somebody tell Sarah, or is she just too dumb to get it?

Wleng   October 12th, 2008 9:03 pm ET

Palin you and McCain are the Bush Administration and no matter how much you say you will bring change, you won't. McCain is qualified but you sure in the hell are not. There you go using fear tactics of terrorists to get elected. You have got to quit lying to the American people. If you can't get elected on fact and the issues, then you have no right running for VP.

FEAR, FEAR, FEAR that's all you know how to spread. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Obama is a "goodie" McCain a "baddie"   October 12th, 2008 9:03 pm ET

Sarah Palin has the vocabulary of a five year old.. she should check who is running her and Grandpa John's campaign..a whole swack of lobbyists.. she isn't even relevant anymore.. I laughed so hard at her being booed at the Phillies hockey game last night..there Sarah how does that feel to you.. John McCain will turn peoples anger into hate.. he won't make it back to Washington.

emkay   October 12th, 2008 9:03 pm ET

this in one more attempt by McCain/Palin to divide the country. This strategy to win the white house is too dangerous for America as well the word. They have lost my respect

Adam, Plano, TX   October 12th, 2008 9:03 pm ET

Palin using the "fear" card.

Lorraine   October 12th, 2008 9:02 pm ET

Palin's reallly pandering to the reptilian level now, but that's just her speed. What a disgrace. She can only rally her base into hating and being so scared of Obama that they vote Republican out of fear. Hopefully this fails miserably in November.

Sam   October 12th, 2008 9:02 pm ET

This woman never stops. She continues to prove her bigotry through stupid comments like these. Again, she is implying that Barack Obama is a terrorist and a terrorist sympathizer. With the lack of intelligence of her followers, that won't end up being good. As someone who will be in attendance at Obama's inauguration, I don't want to put my life at risk because one of the Palin sheep's attacks. If a Palin supporter does attack Obama or an Obama supporter, she should be held responsible and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

For Pink Floyd fans, McCain and Palin sound a lot like Pink in the Wall when he becomes a neo-Nazi and causes riots in Britain. This is eerily similar to that disturbing sequence. I'm not scared of Obama's presidency. I'm scared of the backlash from the fascist following of John "George Wallace" McCain and Sarah "Eva Braun" Palin.

Dawn   October 12th, 2008 9:02 pm ET

It is this simplistic good vs bad thinking that got us into our national and foreign affairs quagmires that we are in. We need an administration that can comprehend the complexities of our national and international affairs as well as be willing to work with our so called "enemies."

mavisdarling   October 12th, 2008 8:59 pm ET

Wow, Palin. You have a lot of nerve talking about bad vs. good when you just lied through your teeth in every interview you gave today.

You keep saying that the report out of Alaska cleared you of any ethical wrongdoing, when it OBVIOUSLY, in black and white, says otherwise.

Why lie? All you do is lie. ONE BIG LIE AFTER ANOTHER.

ONLY BAD GUYS LIE, SARAH. SO that makes YOU a bad guy, hon.

Ragman   October 12th, 2008 8:59 pm ET

This really is getting ugly. The audience clearly knows who they are to think of when Palin talks about the bad guys who support terrorists–you know, the Democratic candidate whom Palin has repeatedly accused of "palling around with terrorists." It is time for right-thinking Republicans to speak out forcefully against this kind of incitement and rabble-rousing.

That Hockeymom thingy isn't playing very well here in the city of Brotherly love…nor do I think that "Abuse of Power" thingy is playing well in…as there was a the anti-Palin rally that was held on the steps of the Alaska State Capital in Juneau yesterday!

WWJD? He would tell Americans the truth. "Let there be light…"

There are plenty of people who don't like America. Palin's America: radical America, bullyish America, America the pitbull, America the barracuda. Should Europe expect to be bombed by a McCain/ Palin administration?

America is a great country. But some times its potential has not been fulfilled. Saying that people who don't embrace America's ideals, as they've been put in practice some times, are terrorists is plain dumb.

That's why the world, be it Muslim, Hindu or Christian or whetever else, seems to be praying for Obama.

AIP is a HATE Group. She has sshown that she will not hessatate to abuse the power of her office to strike out against anhyone she does notlike.

WE CAN'T AFFORD THIS TO HAPPEN!!

Michelle   October 12th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

the bad guy is Sarah Palin. she is devisive, racist, negative and will do no good for this country. Why is it that people are thinking because she is a woman, a white woman, that she is automatically qualified?

African americans do not support people simply because they are African americans – why do white women support another white woman just because she is a white woman?

Why are white men doing the same thing? Stop voting race or party – vote for Obama because in your hearts you know he is RIGHT.

middle child   October 12th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

I'm so impressed with Sarah Palin. In the space of a few short weeks she has gone from virtually unknown nationally, to the most divisive figure in the Nation. What a creep.

NICHOLAS   October 12th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

i must admit one thing that Sarah has done since being named the republican vice presidential candidate, she has surely energized the democratic base.although she and John said that they would respect senator Obama, they are now indirectly still charging Obama as palling with, sympathizing with terrorist.

Sarah needs to get her priorities straight and realize that she might be damaging her political career.time after time, her charges against senator Obama has been proven to be false statements.she needs to realise that Americans will no longer be influenced or swayed by negative smears,lies,distortions......................wise up Americans....today i heard the greatest admonition ever delivered on the campaign trail.............Joe Biden asked us American to GET UP.....GET UP............GET UP

Nidwaldner   October 12th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

So it's the same "you're with us or against us" line. More ugly sentiments, fear mongering and more hate from the Repubs. Same old, same old that we've had these past 8 years. I for one am looking for someone to truly unite the country and listen to all sides instead of brushing everyone as "good" or "bad". We are all Americans and deserve to have our viewpoints respected. People like Palin are exactly the reason I chose to no longer affiliate with the "Christian" tradition I was raised with.

Lisa F SWPA   October 12th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

Lobbyists are running McCain's campaign. Palin just won't stop until some radical attempts an act of violence directed toward Obama or one of his supporters. McCain tried to quell the radical tone of his supporters. She just goes out and flames the fire again. She is trouble and I'm sure he regrets his choice.

Republicans should be ashamed.

Yes Mommy we know who the bad guys are.And you are a bad Mommy for telling scary stories and spewing fear this close to bed time. You should also clean up your own kitchen before you think you can clean Washington.Palin has a pretty bad record of spending government money while sleeping in her own home and getting taxpayers to foot the bill. She also has a very bad record of stomping on long term employees that do't agree with her.She has a proven record of being a bully and an abuser of power.Walt Monegan for VP !!!!!

Pa Woman   October 12th, 2008 8:57 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a disgrace. This woman spews her hateful rhetoric every where she goes. For the party whose slogan states "Country First", she sets America back 40 years. Shame on you Sarah Palin, are you so threatened by a different point of view you would incite fear and hatred to silence it? She is venturing into dangerous waters and I pray no violence erupts. I used to respect McCain, but anymore he disgusts me also. As long as he continues to let Palin spout bigoted, ignorant comments, he is just as responsible. After all, when he states "I am John McCain, and I support this message, he condones the pending firestorm Sarah Palin is brewing up. Maybe he should remind her who the bad guys really are-Bin Laden and Al Qaeda.

Matt   October 12th, 2008 8:57 pm ET

Right - John McCain is going to turn my anger into action. Sure. What's he going to do? Send more money to people making over $250,000 so they "create jobs"? Sure. Good one.

John McCain is George Bush on so many levels. Sure, he had a "maverick" streak earlier this decade when he fought against the Bush tax cuts on the $250K-plus crowd. But, once he lost that battle, he returned to his corner, ensured that we spent billions each month in Iraq and will continue to ensure this as long as he has a position of authority. The answer is to make sure that John McCain, Sarah Palin and the gang of right-wing leaders in DC have no clout. That's it. They created this mess. They're not going to clean it up.

Every politician will tell you this is the most important election in our lifetime. And, they'll tell you that for every election. Personally, I thought 2004 was the biggest one in my lifetime because I knew that we'd be where we are today if George W won. That is, I knew we would still be in Iraq. I knew the deficits would be a round a half-trillion. Anyone that followed this stuff knew this - and yet, he won.

This time, I really hope Americans aren't fooled. Obama isn't perfect. But, he's a big change. That's what we need - not Sarah Palin talking about fringe issues.

A McCain/Palin administration will never happen, thank God   October 12th, 2008 8:57 pm ET

Yeah, we know who the bad guys are: McCain and Palin.

John in KY   October 12th, 2008 8:57 pm ET

Bad guys are the people who destroyed this economy by hook or crook and took down the working Americans housing, jobs, pensions, healthcare, and also raised CEO's pensions and Golden Parachutes, also Corporate Greed, Tax Cuts for the wealthy. while failing to increase as simple a matter as the Minimum Wage! for working Americans.
YES SARA PALIN WE KNOW WHO THEY ARE! McCain/PALIN want to be their new leaders!
No Way, No How, No McCAIN/PALIN

Brian S.   October 12th, 2008 8:57 pm ET

I don't like the direction McCain's campaign has gone. He and Palin no longer talking about the issues, just vague threads against "bad guys" and "terrorist sympathizers." They're not trying to offer solutions, just provoke a very dark, paranoid, and violatile sub-section of American culture.

Obama looks like he's going to win. However, I am worried by the damage McCain is doing to the demeanor of this country. It is not a good sign when people are yelling out, "Off with his head!" at a major political party's rally and the candidate seems to have no problem with it.

As an Independent voter, I am really turned off by Palin's campaign. There is no way I will support this ticket of McCain/Palin. Did she leave her brain in Alaska before venturing out for campaigning all over the country? I don't want this woman anywhere close to any power seat in the federal goverment. Does she read newspapers regularly as she said? She is a walking moron and the whole country is laughing at her and she doesn't ge it.

sandee in Portland   October 12th, 2008 8:56 pm ET

She's right, there is a lot of anger and guess who's put it there...Palin. Why doesn't she talk about the economy? Could it be she doesn't know anything, LOL! I am angry that anyone in their right mind would want to put this woman in power when it's been proven by a group of republicans and democrats that she abuses power for personal reasons. What is wrong with this country? Where have all the honest, hard working, good people gone to?

fwald   October 12th, 2008 8:55 pm ET

Sadly, these statements represent the complete summary of Palin's understanding of the world.

David Smith   October 12th, 2008 8:54 pm ET

Governor Palin is crossing the line between politics and common decency, to one on the other side of politics – fanning the flames on the culture of hate and fanning the flames with every chance she gets. Does she not understand that this is America of the 21st century, where ALL Americans, not just those who are of European descent, have value and are capable of rising to any level in politics and business? Does she and the McCain/Palin campaign not recognize that what they are doing is critically wrong, at a time when people will look for any person or group to target because they are hurting and need to target something for their hurt? Do they not understand the damage they are doing to our country, or do they just not care in their blind ambition for power?

Sara Palin is a gimmick.

Look, The only two things that Americans have to remember when they step behind the curtain are:

1)The Republicans and George Bush and John McCain(who both look like me and has "normal sounding names") screwed this country up without caring what I look like or what race I was.

2)Since the qualifications for Vice President are the
same as the qualifications for President,
Sara "Harry Potter" Palin is grossly unqualified for
either position, bigoted, fascist, anti-semitic
spewing of her campaign garbage not withstanding.

This white Republican guy will be voting for "that one", who's name just happens to be Barack Hussein Obama.

Beth Woods   October 12th, 2008 8:53 pm ET

Yes, there's a lot of anger. My anger is directed at politicians like you who spread fear and hate and try to divert the attention away from the issues to things that arent important.

By inaction, you and Sen. McCain are encouraging the idea that Obama is an unpatriotic American and a terrorist. Do you think your husband's interest in Alaska separating from the union is patriotic?

You're so hypocritical. You should be ashamed of yourself.

What (and who) is she talking about? I honestly try to live a good and honest life.....but McCain really need to get her off the trail. She is sinking the Republican party in the political quick sand of no return. Please post CNN.

hannah   October 12th, 2008 8:53 pm ET

John McCain certainly doesn't have his campaign, OR his VP candidate under control! Sara Palin just keeps fueling the fire she started last week! More comments to get her crowd charged up. I'll bet the "Big O'", who sits on a mountaintop "somewhere out there" is laughing himself silly! The McCain camp is truly pathetic!!

latasha   October 12th, 2008 8:53 pm ET

There she go again interjecting fear on the people. How in the world does she know who the bad boys are if all she speak on what goes on in Alaska. Its like she is stuck in a box up there. She doesn't get it. Palin is a very charming person and I see why people like her.

Pat   October 12th, 2008 8:53 pm ET

McCain is a good guy but, I am not sure that Palin is.

She still sounds very angry and is pushing this negative rhetoric that can be construed as bitter angry speech at anyone perceived to be in a committee with terrorists. Ergo, Obama. She has not denounced anything negative nor has she quieted the crowd when they take her comments out of context. This is not good for McCain's image. I like him but she appears to be the one leading McCains message to a different direction. He ought to stand up against her unless this is another one of his tactics. Is it? I hope not.

Sue, MI   October 12th, 2008 8:52 pm ET

She is truly disgusting. A real leader wants to bring the country together. All Sarah Palin and her kind want to do is to force their radical views on all of those who still believe in our country and Constitution!

melissa   October 12th, 2008 8:52 pm ET

I find it appalling that she continues with the terrorist issue and McCain really doesnt seem to be stopping her. She is creating this unbelievable divide in the country. This campaign is turning very dirty and it really turns me off. I dont understand why she cant just stick to the facts. It really scares me to know that someday Palin may run this country. Look how she has already divided people and caused such extreme hatred towards one person. Thats not what this country needs right now.

Sarah Palin has been proven corrupt in Troopergate, and can't even carry the mop now.

SensibleJoe   October 12th, 2008 8:52 pm ET

Obama knows who the bad guys too, which is why he is right about the Bush administration fumbled in the war against terrorism by taking its eyes off Afghanistan to divert military personnel, resources and firepower to Iraq, where no terrorist threat existed until our invasion broke down the social structure and they moved in from abroad. On a great many issues both foreign and domestic, Palin has light years of reading and studying to do before she's qualified to speak on the national stage, much less be vice president. Right now, she's resorting to the most desperate tactic in the book: the gutter politics of empty sloganeering and bearing false witness against one's opponent - and it stinks like rotten eggs.

Steve, KY   October 12th, 2008 8:52 pm ET

He doesnt care about the US! He only cares about ticking off that one last box on his "to do list".. About getting his name down in history before he hits the bucket.. I cant believe the rest of you intelligent Americans cant see that!

This is ridiculous. I've always thought of all of them -everyone running for office- are patriots. Everyone. McCain, Obama, Biden, Clinton, Romney etc. Yet with so much hate spewing from Palin, is she trying to get us back into riots the 1970s? The economy is doing badly enough, and she's full of distractions. We need to talk about ISSUES. Healthcare, education, energy, economy. Not the "I hate you, you hate me". Lies and crap.

If ANYTHING happens to Obama before or after this election, there will be a very hot place in hell reserved for Sarah Palin and John McCain for inspiring, allowing, and stoking violent and aggressive tendencies in their "campaign stops," which have essentially become angry mobs.

I want to know when she is going to understand what it is exactly that she is eliciting from these crowds. And if she does indeed understand what she is evoking, the hatred and the rage.... the stirring of the pot..... and yet she is still doing it, then she is more than dangerous, and she needs to be stopped NOW! Someone needs to sit her down and explain that enough is enough. Perhaps it is her and the fury that she is purposely evoking from these people who are being told to fear Obama as a terrorist, (which is exactly what she has here been quoted to have been doing today AGAIN.) Perhaps SHE and her evil words are what has been meant by the ominous statement: Wait and see what happens in October.....

How about Palin looks at her own record for good vs. bad? It's official – she lied again in the Troopergate case and abused her power as governor violating public trust! This is a serious abuse and this same person claims to know the difference between good vs. bad? Shameless! And Palin has no motherly conscience whatsoever inserting her children into politics – like taking her daughters out on a rink filled with boos! Palin is a very bad, dividing, blindly ambitious, vicious person who I hope will vanish after the election day from the TV screen and national news!!!!!!!!

Can the american people not understand a simple thing that If Obama had been a terrorist or even had the faintest links to one. All of our 3 letter agencies would have put him behind bars by now and Obama would not be where he is now.

It appears as though McCain and Palin are on two different pages; unless of course she is still being "used" as an attack dog. Is she so blind that she doesn't see that these attacks DO NOT WORK! Some example of "Christ" this woman has been. She makes Christians look like mean, bitter, racist, ranting people who have no idea how to be all inclusive when it comes to others who have a different view of the world than they do. Palin will be one of the main reasons McCain losses this election. She has gone too far, and the bad guys are the ones who sent our troops to war to die for what reason? Her hate for Obama is seen all over her face, but you reap what you sow, so her due karma is coming. I'm an independent and she has totally turned me off to the whole McCain/Palin campaign. Good job hockey mom!!

First an Obama-Supporter, now a Palin-Opposer   October 12th, 2008 8:49 pm ET

Dear Gov. Palin,

Good guys? Bad guys? Please. Did you ever stop to think that there are disadvantaged people in other parts of the world who view us as the bad guys? Is it possible that someone has a viewpoint other than your own? Do you really think these people "do not like America because of... liberty, freedom, and equal rights?" Could it not be because we are the "Haves" and they are the "Have-nots"? Could it not be because our country has invaded their land, destroyed their towns, and continues to have a military presence in their country?

I'm not suggesting their are easy answers to any of the world's injustices. Clearly we must unite in order to prevent radical terrorists from carrying our their malicious objectives.

But let's leave terms like "good guys" and "bad guys" to The Lord of the Rings and realize that working to eliminate injustice in the world will do more to reduce terrorism than labels and military might.

Just like Bush   October 12th, 2008 8:49 pm ET

In words and deeds, she is just like Dubya.

And people would be fool enough to vote for her. OK! vote for her! Go ahead.
If she wins and you've lost your job and healthcare during her administration, remember who you voted for.
If she wins and we end up paying much more for gas than now, remember you voted for Bush yet again.
If she wins and the value of the dollar has dropped even more and your taxes go up, remember that you voted for Palin.
Most of all, remember that you've voted for her when all the world leaders laugh at her and want to 'hug' her.

It would be foolish to vote for the very same people who got us into this mess. Just because they say they're 'reformers' doesn't mean you have to believe them.

tom   October 12th, 2008 8:49 pm ET

What and who is she talking about? This lady is not good for the country,I think that this ticket is tired and needs a bit of rest because they are just talking a lot of bull lately.

Michael from NM   October 12th, 2008 8:48 pm ET

What gives this airhead the right to try to scare America? Palin and McCain will do what ever it takes to win. They are the bad guys.

Jo CT   October 12th, 2008 8:48 pm ET

I know my remark wont be put in but it helps me. Why does palin constantly lie about everything. It is like she just opens her mouth and likes to hear herself talk. I for one am tired of her and wish she would go back to Alaska.

TheTruthHurts   October 12th, 2008 8:48 pm ET

Good ole' mom and apple pie. Good vs. Evil. Hulk Hogan vs. Iron Sheik. This is such a throwback to Reagan it's pathetic. The only question is whether the majority of the American population are ignorant and stupid enough to fall for this - AGAIN!!!!!!

And, if they do, it's probably because of the corporate interests that have starved our education system while telling us there is nothing more important to do with our lives than watch American Idol on plasma tv's from Korea while eating a 2000 calorie Big Mac with no nutritional value.

George Carlin was right - we're screwed!!!

White guy from Ohio   October 12th, 2008 8:48 pm ET

Rep. Lewis wasn't far off with his remarks. I think it's Palin who is the one stirring the pot. That woman claims she is christian but she doesn't act like it.

Will T.   October 12th, 2008 8:48 pm ET

After she and McCain lose, I hope the people of Alaska dump her since she is showing her true colors with the TrooperGate and such.

How can you promote yourself as such a reformist and do the DC Shuffle as soon as YOU get questioned?

She appears to be someone suffering from blind ambition.

You know, they say that when a person keeps saying you can trust them, you can't.

They also say that a thief always leaves his door locked because he thinks everyone else is a thief.

I think Palin is the same old Republicans we all know already.

Of course She knows the term "Maven" is of Jewish origin??
It is commonly used in conversation throughout Jewish Communities.

Is she Blaming Jews for our economic woes?
Or simply saying that Jews are the “greedy and corrupt and arrogant” mavens of Wall Street ?

Aint Fooling Me   October 12th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

Funny how she takes a week stirring up the anger, then acknowledges the anger, and then asks the angry to elect her and mccain because they understand the anger that they created. Just like a rogue firefighter setting fire to a house then being the "hero" that put it out. She's sick!

This woman, albeit the female poster child of the republican party has spouted more devisive bile than any VP candidate before her. How Sen. McCain can say he utilized good judgement in his selection of this corrupt politician able to show her face on a national stage. Sen. McCain in his choice of this person as his VP running mate has demonstrated his complete lack of judgement and common sense.

This crazy woman obviously did NOT get the memo. Right now the mccain campaign is talking out of both sides of their necks!

Mom in FL   October 12th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

I find it odd that McCain seemed to be calling for a more civil and respectful campaign the past two days and Palin seems to be continuing to incite the crowd in a way that I find quite disturbing. Either Palin is acting according to campaign strategy and McCain's comments about wanting to run a respectful campaign are lies or Palin is acting on her own. If that is the case, then I have to question McCain's leadership ability if he is unable to rein in the hate-mongering of his own VP pick.

JohnWinNC   October 12th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

Is Palin insinuating that Obama/Biden are the "bad guys?" If so, then it the most sinister campaign rhetoric I can imagine. I have a difficult time beleiving that a candidate for VP would express such a divisive, dualistic and narrow-minded view of this election. Yes, there will be winner and a loser, but the "best" ticket should win. If Palin really believes what she seems to be saying, then SHE may be one of the "bad guys."

Obama is for UNITING of the PEOPLE   October 12th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

The QUESTION is DO Palin KNOW what GOOD GUY'S look like??????????????..........GOOD GUY’S NEVER WOULD BE FOUND guilty of ABUSE OF POWER and Compliance with the CODE OF ETHICS……A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister, or by failing to prevent her husband Todd from doing so. The report says Palin failed to reign in her husband's inappropriate efforts to use the governor's office to contact trooper employees in his attempts to have Wooten fired.

Happy in Arizona   October 12th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

Yep, the bad guys are McCain/Palin. You want more of the same, vote for McBush and Palin. She abused her power in Alaska, and she will do the same if in the White House. Neither, unfortunately, can be trusted. Yep, they know who the good guys are, Obama/Biden.

If Biden was found guilty for ethical corruption, all media would be all over the Obama campaign asking for Biden's resignation and talking about the campaign's demise. This woman and her husband ran Alaska like their family business. She and her husband are proven to be "greedy and corrupt" and you're reporting this? Why aren't you asking WHO IS TODD PALIN. He might end up to be our next co-vice president you know. Please do your job, let us know who Todd Palin is so that we can make an informed decision.

They're desperate.

I wish this woman would just shut and quit with the scare tactics. I am sick of the politics of fear the Republicans have run with the last eight years. Looks like al this fear has been used as a cover while millions of jobs have been shipped over seas. I think have a job, savings and future for this nation should be the most important. This woman cares nothing about the working person. She is not "joe six pack" and has never had to work hard a day in her life. I wish this pampered princess would pack up and head back to Alsaka and deal with her ethically challege govenorship.

This woman is extremely out of control and dangerous! This election won't get here soon enough to shut her fear mongering down. We don't need a VP who divides the country the way she does and creates unnecessary fear in the minds of the American public.

yen   October 12th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

Sara Palin is the worst thing that has happened to Americans. Her knowledge of politics has boiled down to "bad guys" and "good guys". What can you say about such ignorance. Americans are better than Sara. What a big mistake McCain has done by bringing such an ignorant woman to the national stage. The good thing is that they are going to lose big time. Her scare tactic will not work.

Amy   October 12th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

OBAMA IS NOT A TERRORIST, SO STOP TELLING PEOPLE THAT HE IS!! Seriously, shut this woman up! Obama is going to end up getting killed because of her!

Darren   October 12th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

No, it's not "OK". The terorrist threat to the United States is not all based on a hatred of liberty, freedom, or equal rights. Thus there are a lot of "bad guys" who do not fit her definition. In fact, in Iraq (among other places), terrorists do what they do for their own freedom from a perceived American oppression. Is this a mistaken perception on their part? Likely so, but it is completely false to say that they attack us because they hate our liberty.

Thus Palin is doing nothing but demonstrate that she has NO IDEA who the bad guys are. All she's doing is mimicking Bush's rhetoric from the buildup to and height of the Iraq war.

Adam   October 12th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

Wow, she is a piece of work. If the McCain campaign win this by inciting fear and anger, I will completely give up on politics!

CLS in VT   October 12th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

Sounds like the Repubs are the terrorists based on your definition.

Skelly.   October 12th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

Isn't it time for the Republican ticket to get away from the politics of division and belligerence? On the one hand, McCain claims a legacy of "reaching across the aisle." On the other, he and Palin give the impression Obama is on the same side as "the bad guys." The fact is that Obama has always supported attacks against those who attacked us on 9/11: Bin Laden and Al Quaeda. He knows who the bad guys are and has a foreign policy consistent with this knowledge.

Sarah Palin has lied repeatedly and in front of thousands of people.

Lu from Houston, TX   October 12th, 2008 8:42 pm ET

Palin is the enemy to truth and decency. Jesus never went as far as labeling people good and bad. We are all sinners available for redemption. From her actions and words, she is increasingly divisive and too hard-hearted for repentance.

"All across America, I know that there’s a lot of anger right now" – She has taken advantage of people's concerns and channeled their anger away from issues and policies into hatred toward a person.

barbara   October 12th, 2008 8:42 pm ET

Does is take a rocket scientist to see she is still insinuating that Obama is a terrorist.

First, SHE was found guilty of abusing her power to get her brother in law fired, in which she claims that she was cleared of all charges....and now her racist, elitist comments. Let me tell ya'll something....I am a white, working mom from a rural community, and the CRAZY that I see oozing out of Sarah Palin is sickening. She is a power hungry, racist, idiot. The bible does say that we will elect the all mighty evil one to run the country....I have no doubt in my mind that the evil is Sarah Palin. The bad and wrong guys are McCain and Palin. And the idiots of America that support them. It's a shame how dumb and narrow-minded Republicans are.

Jim from CA   October 12th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

This is a recurring theme for her – the simplistic idea that the world is made of good guys and bad guys and history is driven by the struggle between the two. She might as well say, "Okay, the terrorists are like Voldemort, or Sauron, Okay?, and we are like Harry Potter and Frodo Baggins all in one. Come on, how can you not vote for Frodo? Barack Obama isn't Frodo, you know?"

Hopefully Palin learns a little about the real world before she runs again for the GOP in future elections – a world driven not by good versus evil, but by competing self interest over limited resources, where each country's leadership is responsible for representing their peoples as best as they can. This will lead to conflicts of interest, with foes and friends, and the most desperate of nations resorting to the most extreme of tactics.

No one who understands Iran or Syria actually thinks they act as they do because they are evil. The idea is simplistic to the point of irritating for anyone with a college education. For it to come from a VP candidate is maddening.

Sick of Them Both   October 12th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Can't someone in the McCain camp shut this woman up? It has become abundantly clear why they did not allow her to be interviewed alone at first. That was wise decision. Oh, and Obama is not the bad guy. The bad guys are the ones who have messed up the American economy to the point of near collapse. Can we say "Republican Party"? And don't get me started on the lobbyist situation. A meeting of lobbyist is simply a McCain staff meeting. Sarah, please do us all a favor and fall silent.

Ann   October 12th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

is she saying bad guy are terrorist?
some one needs to speak to this lady and put her where she should be (jail)

Liz in Ohio   October 12th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

She just can't help herself, can she? As far as the anger about inside dealings with lobbyists she might want to talk with her running mate. He KNOWS ALL ABOUT LOBBYISTS.
The difference between an Obama/Biden rally and McCain/Palin are clear:
McCain/Palin rallies are filled with anger and intolerance
Obama/Biden rallies are filled with hope.
I CHOSE HOPE

Annie   October 12th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

The more I hear about this woman the more I dislike her. She is an extremist, a divider, and just plain bad. I used to like McCain until he picked her. I don't like her, what she stands for, and I don't want her any where near the presidency. Please help keep her away from the White House!

Baffeled in GA   October 12th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

It is absolutely unbelievable to think that McCain's campaign has been playing the ignorant role on how their latest tactics have incited racial remarks and heightened unfounded fears of the ignorant. These latest statements from Palin are 100% proof! I am sorry but McCain and Palin does not have the room to say that they don't know how much their rhetoric is pushing some over the proverbial bridge. How in the world could anyone vote for these crooked 'I'll do anything to win the election' people! There are ways to raise LEGITIMATE questions and this isn't it.

Winnie in Montana   October 12th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Wow, is there anything this woman will not allude to? She is vile and despicable and I would like her to go back to Alaska so I never have to hear from her again.

Lauren   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

Hate Monger? You betcha!

No McCain/Palin   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

What world does this person live in??? Who is she talking about??
If she means Obama/Biden she had better say so, because I kind of thought she was talking about herself and McCain.
This person should not have any position in government, she is vile!!!!!!

salin   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

Governor PALIN,

I do not need your lecture on Good and Bad Guys..Your speeches definitely seed hatred in America.

Dr. Proctor, PHD   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a threat to the national security of our country. The fact that McCain chose her is a direct affront to his judgment on national security.
Being a POW is evidence of judgment gone wrong allowing him to be
captured. If he is thinking of "country first", Palin is not qualified.

shepard   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

Careful Sarah! you are sowing the seed of hatred. To suggest that a US presidential Nominee is 'the bad guy' is utterly pedestrian, disrespectful and beyond politics. Mc Cain you should censure your running mate if you are true to your words. If this goes on, America, we will soon see Hate Violence in the near future ! No political party has the right to insite Hate Violence. The republican party should correct itself and its leadership!

Andrew   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

Both Palin and McCain have violated ethics regulations and laws in the past.

First it was McCain durning the "Keating 5" Savings and Loan crisis, an event similar to what we are facing now with our fincanial insituitons.

Next Governor Palin in her abuse of power in Alaska, using her position and personal vendettas to affect her policy decisions.

This is a first for a ticket running for the executive branch. Layer these ethical shortcomings with the amount of lobbiests serving on McCain's staff and just what kind of change to McCain and Palin promise. More of the same seemed like a slogan, but now these two seem to prove this is more than a catch phrase.

The GOP: now with more hate mongering and fear.

White-African(born there) American Military BRAT   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

And WE ALL know that PALIN/McCain ARE the bad guys.

phil/dallas   October 12th, 2008 8:36 pm ET

eleanor owen   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

Sarah Palin is so divisive and beyond negative that you wonder if
she is not trying to destroy America. If McCain wins, I think he better
get a food taster in the White House. She knows how to brainwash and incite the Joe six packs, the ignorant.
Poor McCain, he is so out of it.

voter   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

you are right Palin. There are good guys and bad guys. After 8 years of the republican terror of violating our constitutional rights, two wars and a bad economy, it is time for you and McCain to go home.

Kerry from Anchorage   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

This woman is so limited. She has a little bitty bag of tricks and she keeps pulling the same old lines out of it. How boring! She needs to get back to Alaska and face the music because her approval rating is dropping like a big bad rock! If you don't heed the warning, you remember you heard it from me! If we elect this woman to office, the world will laugh hysterically at our ignorance, and we really need to get along with the rest of the world FOR A CHANGE!! I am a republican, have been for 53 years, and this year, I am definitely NOT voting with my party! She is a train wreck and John McCain has very bad judgement for choosing her.

AJ in Fla   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

Please do not let up Sara Palin..!!!! they are scare to death of you..!!!

A. Rohani   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

Palin only helps Obama everytime she opens her mouth and she's too dumb to realize it. We have very very sophisticated problems to deal with in the middle east and her entire understanding of foeign policy can be summed up in terms of "good guys v. bad guys."

Georgia   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

She is terrifying. God help us if this divisive, narrow minded, mean spirited and erratic team gets elected. They are SOOOOO unAmerican. The worst of our great country.

Dr. Proctor, PHD   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a threat to the national security of our country. The fact that McCain chose her is a direct affront to his judgment on national security.
Being a POW is evident of judgment gone wrong allowing him to be

bill for barack   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

Aren't the good guys the ones that DON'T VIOLATE THEIR STATE'S ETHICS RULES ?
THAT SURELY RULES OUT PALIN JUST AS THE KEATING FIVE SCANDAL RULES OUT McCAIN. The politics of hatred as practiced by these two will surely come back to haunt this nation.

t   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

Do these folks have any ideas at all, apart from 'terrosrists are about to kill us'...and fear mongery, what a very sorry team....do they think america will fall for this load of crap again?

No Hate in '08   October 12th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

This woman will stop at nothing to seperate this country further. We have had enough of that, what are you doing to bring this house divided back together so we can grow as we should?

Please see past this hate and let's make the change that will do this country good.

Plain Sarah   October 12th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

Just who are these bad guys and good guys, Sarah? You sound like a high school junior campaigning for the student council position. You certainly don't sound Vice Presidential, and heave forbid, Presidential!

M Smith   October 12th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

John McCain said he "he knows how to get Bin Laden" in the second debate, can someone explain to me why McCain hasn't let Bush in on this secret so Bin Laden can be done away with?

Viktor, Chapel, Hill NC   October 12th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

would it not be better if Sarah Palin (the Energy Expert) spend more time explaining to voters the McCain/Palin energy policy? it will certainly serve serve the McCain/Palin ticket better, if she spends more time talking to voters about her "area of specialty" than playing the politics of fear and division! .....

Helen   October 12th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

This woman is down right scary!!!!! I can't believe she could be a heart beat away from becoming President, that's reason enough to vote for Obama.

GO_BACK_TO_ALASKA   October 12th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

Why does this woman like to incite hatred? She shouldn't be a VP, much else ever become president.

Diane, NJ   October 12th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

Haven't the people in John McCains campaign learned anything. For one, we can tell that Sarah Palin does not wright her own speaches. Those words are right from the advisors who have an agenda, and that agenda could prove to be very dangerous if they are not stopped. John McCain should step up and tell his advisors to tone down the rhetoric on whom Obama hangs out with, sympathizing with terroists. It is down right nasty and could prove to be fatal if some one takes their words to seriously. I plead for McCain to put a stop to this and stop it now. And second, Ms. Palin couldn't put two words together to save her life, she is such a joke.

Tyran   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

WOW!!! She sounds just like George Bush running that same old fear line. Everyone she disagrees with she demonize. So if Obama is a terrorist sympathizer, then so are Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Joe and Jill Biden, because they support a terrorist sympathizer. Now that I think about it if you vote against John McCain and Sarah Palin you're a terrorist sympathizer. Well the "terrorist" are going to take over America come November. What a desperate woman in a desperate campaign!

Obama is for UNITING of the PEOPLE   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

It was nice to see Senator Biden and his wife, Jill and President Bill & Hillary Clinton on Sunday.

Miss you President Obama…………..

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reese - MD Independent   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

So does that mean that the AIP and her husband are the bad guys? They're treasonous and terrorists who don't believe in America. I mean really, who are these people talking about. I'm so sick and tired of the "us" versus "them". When the markets crash "All" of us are feeling it, not the good folks versus the bad folks. I really can't wait until this if over and hopefully I won't hear from the ethically challenged governor again.

Grace Needed   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

"Terrorism is the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion acts which are intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for an ideological goal (as opposed to a lone attack), and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants." Based on this definition, Gov. Palin is committing terrorist like activities against our country. She is using coercive acts intended to create fear among the Republican base to achieve her goal of becoming V.P. and is NOT concerned how her words encourage acts of anger, violence and desperation against innocent 'non-combatants'. When she refers to Senator Obama as 'not like us' and someone 'who doesn't see America like we see America' plus stating he 'pals around with terrorist' she is using a systematic coercive verbal barrage to deliberately target Senator Obama and his supporters.

Kim   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

Lovely. So, if the Republicans know who the "bad guys" are, why haven't they done anything about it????

Leah,Texas   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

Palin has been inciting violence all week and it is time for her to stop or to be legally 'charged'.

Enough is enough!

Obama/Biden '08

mccrazy   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

destroy our values? you mean like stopping people from making their own choices, taking us backwards 40 years, and continuing this crap in convincing the dumber portion of this country that obama is somehow a terrorist?

you are so pathetic it isnt even funny anymore.

Brian   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

Well, we know she thought her brother in law was one of the bad guys, but did she think her husband was, given he wanted Alaska out of the USA?

Charles in Cincinnati   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

Riiiight. Because, you know, Joe Biden's totally unfamiliar with "nations that sympathize with terrorists". As Chair of the Committee on Foreign Relations, I'm sure he's far less aware of these threats than is the esteemed Governor of Alaska.

I wonder how many National Security Briefs she's read.

Sean   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

What if someone takes your words out of Context, includes only "John McCain is going to turn your anger into action." and someone from one of your rallies tries to go after Obam? Another slip-up by Caribou Barbie!

Jane Davis   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

I certainly hope people do not believe this absurd woman Palin. I think she is actually bad for the campaign on both sides. She is actually lowering the morals of politics. When will she stop? She is an idiot!

death of the republican party?   October 12th, 2008 8:33 pm ET

They don't hate America because of freedom and democracy.

They hate us because we force our beliefs on them. They hate us because so many of us believe that America can do no wrong. They hate us because we can bomb countries and wage wars without the blink of an eye.

PT   October 12th, 2008 8:32 pm ET

"we know who the bad guys are"...really, please tell me. good guys bad guys. is the world really that simple? is it really a good idea to let a simpleton (no disrespect) to run the country. the good ole john wayne style of black and white. that will go down really well as they try to negotiate peace between georgia/russia or palestinians/israelis. if life is really as simple as she thinks, why not just pick the next hardware store manager from omaha to run as president; now that's small town values and 6 pack joe for ya.

Philadelphia Voter   October 12th, 2008 8:32 pm ET

Figures. She's equating Obama with terrorists.

I really despise this woman

Glenn in California   October 12th, 2008 8:32 pm ET

"We know who the bad guys are."

Wow. That says it all. There couldn't be a more compelling argument to vote for McSame and the power abusing moose hunter than that.

Ridiculous. I continue to be disappointed in how such shallow minded simplicity can actually attract voters. How dumb are we as a country.

If these two losers somehow get elected, we will truly deserve the misery we get.

Just say NO to Bush 44 and the power abusing hockey mom.

No honor no love for mankind no understanding this is what I see when I look in her eyes.............

rose.gray   October 12th, 2008 8:31 pm ET

Obama will be the down fall of America. Obama has a great deal of supporters in the Middle East they have even sent money for his election.

Sean   October 12th, 2008 8:31 pm ET

It seems that Obama is correct, Mccain and Bush Have the same policies. Fear! This idea that they hate our freedom and Liberty is simplistic and childish. It is a very complex issue that has evolved from US foreign Policy. This is just more Palin, McCain Bush nonsense... It is time to elect a real leader for change. Obama 08

Tim   October 12th, 2008 8:30 pm ET

Palin should know who the "bad guys" are ... she is one

She abused the power of her office for personal gain. Oh wait, that is Standard Operating Procedure for a republican governor (and her First Dude).

She needs to go back to Alaska and take care of her own business before ruining what's left of America after Bush and the neo-cons have decimated it.

Nevada   October 12th, 2008 8:30 pm ET

I was a teenager in the 60's. McCain and especially Palin ARE sowing the seeds of hatred and division. Representative John Lewis is absolutely correct. With our financial crisis, the fear and hate will spread extremely quickly. McCain has opened the doors to something that he will not be able (and I doubt he is really even willing) to contain. Any resulting violence will be on McCain's head and conscience…if he has one (and I doubt that, too). By: White female and ex Republican who will be voting for the respectable Senator Obama this year.

u have some nerve..

Elle   October 12th, 2008 8:30 pm ET

Are you kidding me???? Wow. She's not only sparking hatred on the Republican side – now she's starting to make the rest of us angry with her blathering nonsense. This woman needs to shut her mouth before she starts a riot.

Richard C   October 12th, 2008 8:29 pm ET

I find it constantly amazing the completely brazen bigotry on the campaign trail. I have respect for John McCain, even if I don't support him, but how in the world can he possibly represent this base of people who, despite what their spokespeople say after the fact, try to I hope no avail to paint Obama as a terrorist and/or terrorist sympathizer. Why can't we honestly have a real debate on the issues? It's not as if we have a lack of problems or a lack of differences on the platforms to debate. Really.

sharon   October 12th, 2008 8:29 pm ET

there's also anger about all the lies she tells.

Larry-Minn.   October 12th, 2008 8:29 pm ET

Maybe it is the fact that they all blame the republicans when the democrats have had the majority and refuse to work accross with the republicans., Instead they hold up things. That is what everyone is angry about..and Obama is not change with Biden just more of the same.

I made this comment to an earlier post but it bears repeating in this post, reading Palin's DISGUSTING remarks. Please read the Wikipedia biography on Timothy McVeigh!! He was one of the worst domestic terrorists our country has ever known and it's that type of person who responds violently to these sordid campaign accusations. Someone needs to call them on this NOW before something really horrible occurs. Ms. Palin's comments represent everything despicable about the politics of extremism.

MarioB. from Berlin for OBAMA/BIDEN   October 12th, 2008 8:27 pm ET

NO you just let increase the anger and do not react, if someone shouts "kill him" (Obama)...
YOU abused power, McCain has no idea what that economy crisis means, well and instead of sticking to the issues, he wants to whip Obama's you-know-what... what an out-of-touch jerk!
And he cheated his wife and his state(KEATING FIVE!!!)!!!

Just dumb and blind fools would like to vote for ya! YOU DUMB I-KNOW-WHAT!

Obama/Biden in a landslide, because this country can't effort a single day of a McPain administration!

Palin does not have the sense to recognize the difference between political polemic and mob-mentality hate rhetoric. That alone should disqualify her from representing this country in any significant way–her manifold intellectual shortcomings and suspect integrity notwithstanding.

They call Obama "dangerous," and yet remain mute while their supporters clutch pitchforks and torches. Remind me again who the dangerous ones are?

Of all the 4 folks running for President and VP, Palin's rhetoric scares me the most. She sounds about as dumb and ignorant as GW Bush. In fact, I think she is dumber than GW Bush.
