Palin draws a line between 'good guys' and 'bad guys'

Palin visited the crucial battleground state of Ohio Sunday.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (CNN) - At a campaign rally designed to reflect the pastoral beauty of the heartland in autumn - with a stage set up in a red barn overlooking a sweeping field and piles of pumpkins - Sarah Palin warned the audience about the threat of terrorism, and explained that the Republican ticket should be elected because “we know who the bad guys are.”

“Help me, Ohio, to help put John McCain in the White House,” she said. “He understands. He understands you. We understand how important it is that this team be elected. For one thing, we know who the bad guys are, OK?”

That statement elicited scattered shouts of “Obama!” throughout the crowd.

“We know that in the war, it’s terrorists, terrorists who hate America and her allies and would seek to destroy us, and the bad guys are those who would support and sympathize with the terrorists,” she said. “They do not like America because of what we stand for. Liberty. Freedom. Equal rights. Those who sympathize and support those terrorists who would seek to destroy all that it is that we value, those are the bad guys, OK?”

Was Palin suggesting that Barack Obama and Joe Biden don’t understand the terrorist threat? Who exactly were the “bad guys” Palin was referring to? A spokesperson for the campaign would only say that the governor was describing “nations that sympathize with terrorists, period.”

The vice presidential nominee pressed on and pointed the finger at more bad guys - the “greedy and corrupt and arrogant” mavens of Wall Street and Washington who, she said, have pushed the nation’s economy to the brink.

“We know who the good guys are, and it is you, and we will fight for you, and we will put government on your side,” she promised. “We will end the arrogant and the selfish practices of Washington and of Wall Street because your United States government is to be of the people, by the people, for the people.”

In her remarks, Palin also appeared to acknowledge the snow-balling narrative that Republican rallies have grown increasingly hostile and angry in the waning weeks of the campaign, echoing weekend remarks by McCain himself.

“All across America, I know that there’s a lot of anger right now,” she said. “There’s anger about the insider dealing of lobbyists and anger at the greed of Wall Street, and anger about the arrogance of the Washington elite. And with serious reforms to change Washington, John McCain is going to turn your anger into action.”

What happens when Sarah and John have lost the election bid? How is this talk about Dems being cozy with 'terrorists' going to go down? I can't wait to find out. Whats more crazy is, If she does become the VP, will she fund AIP? I can't understand why anyone isn't bringing her past with AIP up. Thats quality ammo and will shock people into changing affiliations. Man, I wish the voters who vote repubs get their wish and then sit back and watch It hit the fan.

Wow, the hateful rhetoric preached by the McBush-Caribou Barbie campaign just gets worse. Not only do these two idiots continue to falsely suggest that Obama "pals around with terrorists," but they are also adopting a familiar ploy of Bush/Cheney: When the going gets tough, bring up the terrorism card.
How is this old fool a candidate? Is this the best that the GOP could offer? And why do people actually like Palin? The woman is nothing more than a stupid cheerleader for Ol' Fart McBush.

Good guys and bad guys... hahaha. You have to be kidding me. This isn't playing cops and robbers as a 5 year old.

What are your plans to get the economy back on the right track? How do your policies differ from the disastrous Bush policies?

I can't believe with this line of campaigning that McCain has 43% of the vote out there. It's simply mind boggling.

I believe we need to look a litte deeper into Palin because preaching hatred comes a little too easy for her.

If you already had voted for Bush in past, your hands are in blood and you are guilty in pushing our country almost to collapse. Please don't do same mistake again. We will not survive Bush with bad temper and Bush with even more ignorance and extremism.

“They do not like America because...

We're sticking our noses into their internal affairs. We're the global nosy, overbearing, neighbors, forever telling the rest of the planet how to run their lives. "If only you'd be more like us," we keep arrogantly insisting, "you're lives would be so much better. And you smell bad too."

Come on, people! Would you like it if the world treated us this way?

I just wish the republican party stood for liberty, freedom, and equal rights. Why doesn't McCain have an answer for voting against equal pay for women, why did he vote against MLK day? I'm tired of the double standard, and hypocritical unethical practices. I think the Republican party needs reform more than Washington.

Barack Obama is one of the BAD GUYS? Why, because he doesn't agree with Palin's skewed vision of America? GIVE ME A BREAK.
I'm sorry... Palin is the MAIN reason the GOP ticket is as low and trashy as it has become. People just can't stomach her being so close to the Oval Office....she's not one bit prepared or qualified. NOT ONE BIT.
And, as a bipartisan party of her own state has determined, she has "ABUSED HER POWER." Is that really the change we want in Washington? MORE CORRUPTION?
This is just more George W. Bush. In fact, McCain/Palin is WORSE than Bush/Cheney, because at least their incompetence wasn't mean-spirited at the same time.
    No way.

Equal Rights? Is this woman out of her blasted mind? Republicans don't want equal rights in the slightest. Only for straight, rich, white, Christians they do. The rest of the people in the US and world can go F**K themselves for all they care.

"... who the bad guys are, OK?" Did this chick ever learn to speak beyong a kindergarten level? She is an insult to women, to America; and sadly, a very poor example of our education system... or... maybe not example, but more an indicator: indicator of what else needs to be fixed – the education system... and pronto I may say.

It's amazing to me how we put so much effort in keeping the terrorist from attacking us on our homefront and they did it without attacking our infrastructure. What they did, because of our greed, is collapse this country economically.

It's very very sad that Gov Palin with all due respect will resort to this cheap rhetoric when Americans are going through a serious economic crisis that is not only affecting America as a country but actuall causing a ripple effect across the globe.. and this is all you have to offer people that are hurting? Govenor? To bad.

And the pitbull in lipstick continues spitting venom and hate. Funny, I am beginning to feel sorry for her cause she does not realise how much damage she is causing her ticket. Good guys and bad guys. The world is that simple to you. The problems we Americans face is that simple to you. The solutions are that simple to you. God help us all.

Thank God Sarah, you have finally found your own voice.Use it girl. You and John McCain keep going. America needs you more than ever if our country is to survive.
Keep talking Sarah. This is too important. Our freedoms in America have never in our history been in this much danger of being lost before.

Divisive, full of innuendo and scary. Are these tactics the ones they would use globally as well? I'm angry now! McCain, Palin, and their advisors have only proven to me how they would truly respond on our behalf when events and others(our allies and our enemies) aren't favoring their own selfish wants and desires. Instead of staying the course, standing on steady, sturdy ground, appearing informed and confident, they beg and plead, use scare tactics, vascillate on ideas and mislead us. If I ever thought they were the best to lead our country forward, I don't now.

Hmm. "The bad guys" huh? Sounds a lot like what Hitler called the Jews in the 30's. "Oh, WE know who they are, and you have to put us in the White House so we can round them up and make Amerika safe for all"... So, Sarah Hitler-Braun, you're a fascist swine with lipstick. Doesn't really surprise me. I am still amazed that the RNC is putting out flyers slandering Obama, calling him an Arab and a socialist...not to mention a terrorist. Obama is obviously not a socialist, as if the Republikanischers actually know what socialism is, but tactics like this, what the Republikanischers are putting out, aren't just out of Rove's playbook – they're out of Mein Kampf. But then, that's probably where they get ALL their ideas. Well, guess what, brownshirts? You're not going to get away with it. America will never become Amerika.
