The investigative report on Palin's actions was released Friday.
The investigative report on Palin's actions was released Friday.

(CNN) — Sarah Palin told Alaska reporters Saturday that she had been “cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of unethical activity” in the investigative report released the day before that explored her actions in dismissing a state official who refused to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police.

"Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of any kind of unethical activity there,” Palin said on a Saturday conference call with reporters from the Anchorage Daily News, KTVA-Channel 11 and KTUU-Channel 2. “Very pleased to be cleared of any of that."

She repeated the same contention on the trail Saturday: When a reporter asked if she had abused her power in firing Walt Monegan, the state police chief who would not dismiss her ex-brother-in-law Mike Wooten from the force, she said the report showed she had done nothing wrong. “No, and if you read the read the report you will see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member," Palin responded before boarding her campaign bus. "You got to read the report, sir."

Palin had the authority to fire Monegan, but the report by former Anchorage prosecutor Stephen Branchflower concluded that she abused her power as Alaska's governor, and violated state ethics law by trying to get Wooten fired from the state police.

"Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda," the report states.

Cleared of all unethical violations? Maybe YOU should read the report, Governor Palin. You just blatantly lied to the American people.

Colin   October 12th, 2008 10:13 pm ET

wow and this is the type of person some people want as Vice President? We all heard the verdict she ABUSED HER POWER by firing Mike Wooten. Boy does she think americans are stupid…and in some cases apparently she is right to think it, Palin supporters. Sorry Sarah you can't deny the facts!!!! She's openly lying once again and some people don't care… unbelievable!!!! Obama/Biden '08 the only real hope for change.

Sharon, TX   October 12th, 2008 10:13 pm ET

She wasn't cleared of unethical activity. Where's the real story on this issue CNN? The report clearly states Gov Palin abused the power of her office for personal gain and violated the public trust by violating Alaska's ETHICS LAWS. She may not have technically violated any CRIMINAL laws, but the report clearly states that she committed some ETHICAL wrongdoings. It does not matter whether she wants to acknowledge it or not. The facts are the facts. We already have an Administration that refuses to OWN UP TO THEIR FAILURES — we don't want MORE OF THE SAME. BTW, the report was approved for release as written by the Alaska bi-partisan legislative committee (10 Reps, 4 Dems).

Terry H   October 12th, 2008 10:13 pm ET

Governor Palin did nothing that anyone else wouldn't have done. Especially the other candidates. We have all used favors at any given time so don't even try to deny it. As a former Police Officer, I can attest that it was normal procedure to have someone blackballed that was acting as recklessly as he was. Law enforcement officers such as him have no place in our legal infrastructure. Now, stop the sexist crap and being nasty because a woman has bigger ones than you do. This constant attack on her character when she is impecable is growing very tiresome.

michael   October 12th, 2008 10:13 pm ET

Someone get the extinguisher and put Mrs. Palin's pants out, it seems they've caught fire again.

Ashamed Republican   October 12th, 2008 10:13 pm ET

What part of "Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda," don't you understand, Sarah?
Repeating lies over and over does not eventually make them true.

Why is the msm letting Air-head Palin continue to lie unchecked???
Very little has been said about her abuse of power.

Helga Dougherty   October 12th, 2008 10:11 pm ET

The report also charges her with abuse of power - but I guess that is not unethical as far as she is concerned. Why does that not surprise me.

Tammy   October 12th, 2008 10:11 pm ET

Palin has not been cleared. It was stated that she abused her power as governor. I don't know how anyone can get "cleared" out of that statement.

dave murrow   October 12th, 2008 10:11 pm ET

The report says she abused her power and violated state ethics law. For her to say she was cleared of 'any hint of unethical behavior' is just not true.

Does this candidate say that anything she says becomes true because she said it?

Anthony   October 12th, 2008 10:11 pm ET

"I am not a crook", as she waves two fingers in the air.
After the lawless actions of the last administration, and the early warning signs of this lady, I pray America do the right thing and keep her as far away from Washington as possible. Alaska looks like a good place to start.

Eyes-open   October 12th, 2008 10:11 pm ET

I wanted to write this comment free of Hyperbole. I wanted to just list the facts as they are presented. I wanted to make sure I would not take anything out of context and use it to promote my candidate. Sarah Palin does not do that.

Sarah Palin would have us believe that she did nothing wrong in getting Mr Monegan fired. Well I wili bet that everyone who sees this will perhaps know someone in the position of power who has abused it. It might seem like a small matter when it is localized but imagine how this abuse of power can be magnified when someone wield the power of PresidenT or Vice PresidenT. Just something to think about.

There is also the hypocracy behind Mrs Palin. She knows her husband belonged to anti "Alaska as part of the Union" group, she knew that she had a church Minister who believes in the power and presence of whiches, preside over a ceremony that was used to drive away witches AROUND HER, all this taped and is being shown on the net. She knows all these things and even more about the ethical conduct of the head of her ticket and still she throws insults, and make accusations of her opponent when she knows her closet is very dirty.

I must say that I believe in the intellect of my fellow Ameicans. I believe they can see through all the smoke screens. They have not forgotten about the economy, they have not forgotten about health care ot the suggestion to privatize their retirement plans. No Americans are smart, smarter than the politicians give us credit for. Let us send them and the next generation of Politicians, a loud and clear message. STICK TO THE ISSUES, TELL US HOW YOU WILL HELPS US SOLVE THE CURRENT PROBLEMS…………………STOP PLAYING THE DISTRACTION GAME…………………….ENOUGH.

A. Los Angeles   October 12th, 2008 10:11 pm ET

Not surprisingly, she probably didn't read the findings of this investigation either.

Gov. Palin:

911 Commission Report : What's that?
Bush Doctrine : Who?
Troopergate : Come again?

Either she lives in a parallel universe or she's a compulsive liar.

What about using personal email for state business so you can keep it covered up? Liar!

in Oregon   October 12th, 2008 10:10 pm ET

In the Anchorage Daily News:

"The report by investigator Steve Branchflower was made public late this afternoon by a bipartisan 12-0 vote of the Legislative Council, which authorized the investigation.

Branchflower's report contains four findings. The first concludes that Palin violated the state's executive branch ethics act, which says that 'each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.' "

She was not cleared. She is unethical.

rchael   October 12th, 2008 10:10 pm ET

This is a horrible piece of reporting. She is telling bold faced lies, and she is not being held to account whatsoever in this piece. It really is okay to call a lie a lie. So much for liberal bias in the media!

Mike in Ohio   October 12th, 2008 10:10 pm ET

If she think she's been cleared, she obviously cannot read. Maybe that is why she is unable to name any newspapers.

I can't believe her gall. Repeat a lie strongly and fervently enough, and hope that people start to believe it.

David   October 12th, 2008 10:10 pm ET

Abuse of Power is a very serious charge, Palin. And it's just one more notch in your un-electability to the white house. although, the obvious reason is you just are not anywhere near being qualified to be VP never mind Prez. Go take care of your very needy family and if that sounds sexist, so be it. You have been insighting racism, so i guess sexism should be fair.

Love you Sarah. You have finally found your own voice. Keep ialking girl.

Jim   October 12th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

She was found guilty of unethical actions. This is ridiculous. The only reason she's not charged with a crime is because of a poorly written law which failed to define revenge as "personal gain." She didn't get money or anything like that but it WAS ABUSE OF POWER plain and simple.

Harrison   October 12th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

Sarah Palin; Is she related to Casey Anthony of Florida? You know, the one who lies incessantly… the one who did not report her daughter missing.

Mia and Mike   October 12th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

Lady, what are you talking about? We all know you've been found guilty of enethical practices. Here's a good glimpse into what a McCain/Palin administration would be: lying right in front of cameras and going on record with it when the WHOLE world knows that you've been found guilty. McCain, you've got to dump this toxic excuse of a running mate!

Allen   October 12th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

and she wants to talk about character? the McCain-Palin ticket is an insult to this country.

Grace Needed   October 12th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

What planet is this governor residing on or what universe? She is clearly delusional. She is a pathological liar and narcistic meglomaniac. Any elected official who refuses to follow the laws of our land they took an oath to uphold is treasonous. She is liable for encouraging anarchy, to model such disrespectful attitude towards law and order in our democracy. How dare she claim any credibility of office if she will NOT admit to any wrong doing when abusing the power of her office by firing qualified others with impunity, obstructing justice, neglecting her post (unable to be found) while her husband is running the governor's office 50% of the time. She deserves to be recalled and impeached and NEVER had any business being considered a nominee of a national office. This would have been clear to Senator McCain had he done the job of vetting his appointments. This shows his incredible lack of discipline at a time in our country when we need models of discipline and prudence so badly.

toni cheeks   October 12th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

CNN: It is truly a shame how you pick an choose what's HEAD LINE NEWS. Where are the headlines that Palin abused her power; where are the headlines that she was Booed at the hockey game; and where is the Headline that lets the American people know that she lied on Obama! You are being bias, why?

Get Real   October 12th, 2008 10:08 pm ET

I'm confused… Maybe Sarah needs to "Read the entire Report" It appears as if she doesn't understand that
Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda

Sounds like Accessory to a crime.

If a "Joe-six Pacl" just happens to knowingy permit someone to steal from a business, they are guilty of being an accessory.

Please! Another look at what a McCain/Palin Administration will look like.. just another Bush/.Cheney

gary   October 12th, 2008 10:07 pm ET

Come on folks open look at what's happened in the last 8 years. This economic melt down is just the latest evidence. Check out the national debt. Each family in the country owes abot $86,000. About $40,000 came about as a result of Bush and teh Republican dominated Congress. Do feel like you got $40,000 worth of anything? No healthcare, most us can bearly afford it. Bush wanted to shut down Social Security and have us put our money in the stock market (I'm down over 50%) - plan on retiring one day? Have any relatives who are living on their 401K? It cost me about $40 to fill up a 13 gallon tank? Want to send any of your kids to college? So what the heck have they done with all this deficit spending? Wars (about $600 billion for Iraq), tax cuts for the rich people (I wish I was a rich person). I sure haven't seen any of that money. Pay attention folks, McCain agreed with all this ridiculousness. Let's give the other guys a chance. It's hard to imagine anyone could do worse than the Republicans have the last 8 years, and McCain's just telling the same stories that have got us where we are. Another 8 years of this we'll all be better off in Mexico.

barbara miller   October 12th, 2008 10:07 pm ET

Joe   October 12th, 2008 10:06 pm ET

This report leaves her wide open for a civil case by Monegan for wrongful termination, and acknowledges she did break the law and abused her office with her pressure to fire Wooten.

I'd hardly call that clear of "any hint of unethical activity".

Obama/08

Larry   October 12th, 2008 10:06 pm ET

Good heavens, the woman really doesn't read!

Palin is Corrupt   October 12th, 2008 10:05 pm ET

Palin lies again - what a surprise. Reporters should read the Alaskan report. Palin WAS convicted of violating the Alaska ethics law and was found to have "abused her power" as Governor. These are impeachable offenses under the Alaska legislature. Palin is untrustworthy and has been just disqualifed for national office. She has once again proven how incompetent and unfit she is.
Oh and Sarah - we are sick of you hate rallies where you are falsely calling Obama a terrorist. I consider that kind of language a hate crime in the post 9/11 world. You are a disgrace!

MissouriMom   October 12th, 2008 10:05 pm ET

Actually, you weren't.

You were found guilty of violating an ETHICS law. Maybe that doesn't include a jail sentence… but it can lead to censorship or even impeachment. We can only hope that the same republicans that began the investigation carry through.

You ARE one of those moms — like that one who caused a girl to kill herself in Missouri… or those kind that berate others because their kids don't quite cut it out there playing sports.
And when you quoted Pegler at your RNC speech… where did that quote come from? A book you read? Your husband? The AIP? Or Tucker Eskew, known racist and anti-semite? Bush's communication guy… just like Nancy Pfotenhauer and the rest of Bush's henchmen.

How pathetic is it that McCain hires the same guys who slimed him in 2000 (black baby, S.C. 2000) to run this campaign? Boy, that shows some HONOR, huh? Some self-respect? Some "dignity"?

Actually, it shows you guys believe the END justifies the MEANS. Hell has a special place for you all. The only good thing I see is that after this coming landslide, you'll get to take your sorry butt home to Alaska where you pretty much won't have a political career left.

And that will be a good thing for Alaska AND America — we will all be rejoicing.

Donna   October 12th, 2008 10:05 pm ET

The report expressly found that Palin had engaged in unethical activity–abuse of her position as governor. This woman is willing to not only lie about what she did (the report sets forth a number of her lies) but about what the report said.

Susan from Scotts Valley, CA   October 12th, 2008 10:05 pm ET

Why does the press let her get away with this? She's lying. She hasn't been cleared of "anything unethical". She was, in fact, charged with just the opposite. If she isn't lying, then she's delusional.

voter   October 12th, 2008 10:04 pm ET

the media already debunked that theory. Obviously Palin can't read because the report said she violated the ethics code in alaska statue. It concluded she abused her power and the trust of the public. try again Palin.

JayHawkDad   October 12th, 2008 10:04 pm ET

How dense does Palin think we are? She says in this article she was cleared of any unlawful wrong doing and unethical activity, but the report clearly states "that Stephen Branchflower concluded that she abused her power as Alaska's governor, and violated state ethics law by trying to get Wooten fired from the state police."
The question is, will she bring this kind of shady politics to Wahington? Is this the reform she and McCain are preaching?
We don't need another four years of this two-stepping.
Vote OBAMA/BIDEN '08.

She is lying! Did she read the report? Not illegal, but definitively unethical.

NANCY, MONTANA   October 12th, 2008 10:03 pm ET

Governor Pahlin simply makes her own reality apparently, saying that she had been cleared of unethical behavior when the report clearly states that she abused her power as governor, and violated state ethics law.

As stated by Anchorage prosecutor Stephen Branchflower "Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda" . And her husband was involved in pressing state employees- they should have let the police handle any real threat.

An insult to the American people, does she think we won't notice, or care?

That's funny, because I've read the report, and it states quite clearly in the report's findings:

"Finding Number One

For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act."

So while she hasn't committed any crime, she did commit an ethical violation — she cannot be indicted for this, but it is an impeachable offense. And claiming that she has been cleared of "any hint of any kind of unethical activity" is an outright lie since the report explicitly states that it found her in violation of an Ethics Statute.

Here in Canada we are taught to read and know what we have read. In Sarah Palin's case, if she read the recent report, and she says she does, the questions is raised: Did she read it? If so, does she remember what it said? OR, is she simply denying (rhymes with lying) what she read. My opinion is she is lying. So haw does she expect anyone to believe what she says? She can not be real. I read the report: 1. she abused her power by pursuing a personal grudge while use the Governor's power and influence. @. She created illegal conflicts of interest for subordinates in violation of the Alaska Executive Ethics Act. 3. She knowingly permitted her husband Toad, who is not a state employee, to misappropriate taxpayers' money, resources and the Governor's Office to obsessively and illegally pursue a personal family matter. 4. She failed to comply with the requests made to her office for e-mails concerning public business conducted on her personal e-mail account in an attempt to subvert the Freedom of Information Act, subpoenas and public scrutiny. They seem to not know you there… ya could probably earn a darn good livin' there with your fisherman Toad. You betcha! :) But, then again, maybe not; as there is trash in the ocean… Toad would not be able to catch anything untainted for ya'll ta chow down on. So much for Alaska being environmentally friendly.

Frank in Pittsburgh   October 12th, 2008 9:57 pm ET

How did McCain find someone even dumber, sleazier and more unethical than Bush? Is it so much to ask for accountability and smarts in our elected officials?

Greg   October 12th, 2008 9:57 pm ET

Is Palin delusional?

NC = Blue in '08   October 12th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

WOW, I guess she can't read either!! I've read the report and got the impression that she was unethical in using the office to push a personal agenda.

Rick   October 12th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

Is she delusional?

Lisa   October 12th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

Sarah Palin is freaking clueless AND unethical (as the report states). She may not have broken any STATE laws but the report CLEARLY states that she violated ETHICAL laws…..Sarah, which report are you reading? Typical, thinks that because she says something, it is so….she has been hanging around McShame too long!!! Wake up AMERICA!! Vote Obama/Biden….

Pat   October 12th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

I really have to feel sorry for Sarah and John. I really don't think they know what is right and wrong.

jdm   October 12th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

She can fired anyone want to and she did. BUT THE COVER UP WAS MADE BIGGER BY HER AND MCAIN ACTIONS. HER HUSBAND SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN INVOLED IN GOVENMENT EVENTS. SO SHE IS NOW SPOILED FRUIT ON THE TREE. SHE MAY HAVE TO LEAVE HER GOV JOB. SAD, SAD SAD. SHE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN AWAY WITH IT IF SHE STAY IN AK.

VETS4Obama   October 12th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

Shame on you!!! Good God fearing Christians are told not to lie!!! Whats your excuse for continually spewing lies since you were nominated by McSame? Are you ill?

Dee   October 12th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

How interesting that in McPalin World, violating state ethics law is not unethical.

sandee in Portland   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Geez, she really doesn't read anything. I guess she didn't read the part on PAGE 8 that said she had violated ethics. She may be right on not doing anything illegal, but abuse of power, that's another story. I do not want an unethical person in the White House and I hope the majority of americans do not believe this story when they can go online and read the report put out by the Alaska Legislature in full. It does contradict what she is saying in part. But, that's been the main problem with McCain's campaign….half-truths. Lord….give me an honest, intelligent, calm, rational person in the White House, not a blithering idiot.

dem4obama   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

sarah palin is a rotten stinking dog. she will be uncovered for all the scum that she is. you, sarah can stop hiding behind your grandpa mc cain. its gonna catch up with him too. sooner the better!!!!

Chris   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

According to who…?

Eric Cooper   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

I'm a bit confused. The report says that her actions were unethical, and she's flying around the country saying that she has been vindicated. Is there no end to the spin?

Obama/Biden '08

Chuck   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

You are still guilty of unethical conduct (Alaska Statute re: Ethics Violation), Mrs. Palin. That will continue to stick with you regardless of what you say.

YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW, MRS. PALIN. NO ANDS, IFS, OR BUTS.

Real Talk   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Will she ever stop lying. This is B.S. I mean come on, quit treating us like idiots.

Marl   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

I am so tired of her. Let her go home to Alaska

Ron from Baltimore   October 12th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

OMG, she has really taken on VP Cheney's spirit now! I am not guilty of anything until _I_ say so!

David   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Palin is so darned delusional she probably believes her own lies. "Abuse of power", sweetie, is an ethical and legal "wrong-doing" This from the very same women who, knowing she'd be booed at the Philly Flyers game, brought her five-year-old daughter on the ice with her to "mitigate boos." She's not fit to be a parent, let alone VP or President.

Jay   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

She has lost it. I think someone hit her in the head with a hockey puck.

Jimbo   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Sarah Palin Superstar

Are you scared of me queen,
the hockey mom dream.
Show me that I'm no fool,
walk across my above ground pool.
If you are so Devine,
turn my viewpoint into whine.
Send her away,
she's got nothing to say.
Go home you queen of the,
Go home you queen of the,
Go home you queen of the moose.

David Peter   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Wrong.

xargaw   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

She is either so dumb she can't read and comprehend the report, or she is a bald face liar or both.

Justin -NC   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Sounds like she was promised by the RNC that they would put in "THE FIX" but apparently RNC operatives were too late. Anyway, further proof Palin is a liar. If you can't vote for Obama because you'd rather have this liar and No Answers McCain, then face it… you are a racist!

Obama/Biden 08

CLS in VT   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Pay no attention to the report…. Beleive my lies.

James   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Wow, she is so clueless.

GB   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Just so we're all clear… Palin is not at the point where she can read something which clearly says one thing, and then lie, saying it says the complete opposite…

We're all clear on that right?

I'm scared

bex   October 12th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Unethical and Legal are two very different words. What she did may have been legal by Alaska's standards, but in any state, what she did was certainly unethical. Call a spade a spade, McSpineless/Palin.

Brian   October 12th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Perhaps the report, like the NY Times, is something she did not read.

Sue in MI   October 12th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Hmmm, maybe SHE had better read the report (and maybe her grammar would improve.) It says she "abused her power as governor and violated state ethics law." Cleared? I don't think so. I pray that the Personnel Board that has disciplinary power finds cause to set some standards for her, because right now she thinks she's God.
"You got to read the report?"

Independent   October 12th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Total Ignorance !

Small Town Texan   October 12th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Guilty as sin!

Papasan in Arizona   October 12th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

What a whacko! Palin, you are undoubtedly the most self delusional idiot that the Republican Party has ever dug up.
Can you read? What am I saying of course you can't read, have McCain read the report to you.
The last resort of all Failing Republican Campaigns is to energize the base, Right Wing Looneys! Sure they are mad, they are waking up from a long peaceful Bush slumber, to find two morons [McCain/Palin], with a disturbing megalomaniac love affair with themselves, out of touch with our Nations true issues, and engaging in a revolting Smear and Fear campaign! That's a tough wake up call, "MY FRIENDS"!
The McCain inept solution is an Ignorant Slang Talking Power Hungry Junk Yard Dog [Palin] scampering around the Nation drumming up Racist Bigotry. The obvious erratic incompetence of the McCain/Palin campaign should provide evidence enough that they are unfit for any public office. Americans face the hardest financial disaster in the History of the USA, this is your idea of Change/Solutions/Ansewrs! John McCain / Sarah Palin have no idea what Americans trying to survive face. 401K plans gutted, Unemployment, Foreclosures, and the Global Economy in disarray…
McCain/Palin are a disgusting self serving disgrace. Clearly proving they are not up to the complex task of keeping the Nation together in hard times.

P.S. McCain, please do not come back here to Arizona.

Billy   October 12th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

Yeah, other than breaking that Alaskan ethics statute, you're as innocent as OJ.

TyWebb   October 12th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

Remember, you can't spell Sarah Palin without L I A R. What an idiot.

Andres in florida   October 12th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

thats 1 out of a now ever-growing number of swing states

McSame-aPALINing   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

Uh, right. And I have a Bridge to Nowhere that I would like to sell you.

Independent   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

aHAAA! In what alternate universe was that?!!

former gop   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

IS IT POSSIBLE THE ENTIRE COUNTRY IS PUNKING ME?!!!

WHY ISN'T SHE BEING TAKEN AWAY IN A STRAIGHT JACKET?

Buckeye Voter   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

I guess she didn't read Finding 1, just seven pages in, did she?

weneedstrongleadership   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

Ok, Senator John McCain said "we do not have time for on the job training…", yet he selects Palin who seems lacking in a lot of key issues. McCain the hipocrit…

MrManhattan   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

Well now we know why she didn't understand the question when she was asked what newspapers she read.

She clearly can't read.

Angry in Indiana   October 12th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

Really Governor Palin. I still can't believe that you say you've been cleared. The report said you violated state ethics laws. Maybe you said this lie to yourself so many times you actually believe it. But the American people know the truth.

Obama/Biden 2008

McCrazy   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

"Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda," the report states.

How is this being cleared of unethical activity? Has this woman ever actually not ignored facts?

Robert From VA   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

Well it is official!

Sarah Palin can't read.

The report clearly says that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power and violated the trust of the people. Its nice that she is able to make up her own reality though. Does that count as experience?

Bush in a dress

Pat   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

Wow, she can lie like she can breathe. The bi-partisan committee JUST published their report showing she DID misuse her office to slash at monegan. Wake up USA - this is what we get IF we elect mavericks.

Jason Stutz   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

So I guess in her eyes, it is ethical for elected officials to abuse their power.

Morgan   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

So violating state ethics laws makes her feel good. This is down right scary.

EB   October 12th, 2008 9:50 pm ET

Has SHE read the report yet?

Palin and crew must think we're all pretty darn stupid.

Charlie   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

She must have received a different report than I did.

sal   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

You evidently did not read the report. Sound like another Bush admin. LOL

Obama Biden have won

It will come for you from your alaska Home.

Sarah Palin   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

Violating the law is not violating the law.

What don't you get about that?

john rico   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

Uh. Did she get a different report than everyone else? CNN please call out this liar already. The line between fact and reality has been drawn. Do not make a mockery of the press by printing her lies without calling her on it.

Not VP Material   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

No, the report said that you abused your power! The media outlets have not reported much on this either.

VETS4Obama   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

WOW! It sounds like McBush's eye candy is not only a light weight and smart mouth but it appears she cannot read either. The report CLEARLY states she abused her power as governor. PLEASE spare us and go back to your igloo where you can spew all the hatred you want and absue your power there!

Liz   October 12th, 2008 9:49 pm ET

I know she's stupid–I saw the Katie Couric interview. But can't she read??? There are only two possibilities here: 1. She's stupid or 2. She lies with impunity. Neither possiblity is acceptable in a POTUS–which she could be on day 2, given her running mate is 72 years old!

former gop   October 12th, 2008 9:48 pm ET

I want to scream!

She's INSANE! She's DELUSIONAL! She's A LIAR!

WHO WOULD VOTE FOR HER? WHO ARE YOU STUPID, STUPID PEOPLE VOTING FOR HER?!!!!!

Can't wait for Jan 20, 2009!   October 12th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

Nope, sorry Failin. The bipartison commission in Alaska agreed UNANIMOUSLY that you did not conduct yourself ethically. You can't spin this one. America is not as stupid as you think. America sees through all the deception, fraud, and hatred that is at the core of the McSame/Failin campaign. You betcha!

Nick Wright   October 12th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

No, no, you were CALLED OUT for unethical activity. A simple mistake.

Colin   October 12th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

An "abuse of power" that to me is not competely cleared.

OS   October 12th, 2008 9:47 pm ET

DON'T BE YOUR OWN JUDGE.

Mick   October 12th, 2008 9:46 pm ET
