Crowley: Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama finally begin to engage each other.(AP PHOTO)

HEMPSTEAD, New York (CNN) - This is by far the most interesting debate of the three. They are engaging each other. They both brought their game.

Do I see smoke coming out of McCain's ears?

Chan   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

McCain still appears to be unstable- mentally!!!

bk   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

McCain looks childish.
Not Presidential.
Looks panicky and frustrated.

Dem in PA   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

The split screen is driving me crazy...i'm trying to listen to Obama but all i can see his McCain blinking like a madman!

laura   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Obama looks great. McCain looks pissed.

DAVE IN CA   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

obama is a liar

Steinway   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Can you believe McCain's facial expressions? I sure don't want him negotiating for the U.S. with anyone!

Roy   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Has john lost, completely lost, his sense of decency. Plus can Bob tell him to stop grunting in to the microphone.

Fritz   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

John McCain's eyes are really really red.
He looks furious to be at the same table as Obama.
While I think McCain is holding his own in the discussion better than in the other debates, he seems really mad.

wayne   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

McCain is a old angry man that makes old angry man noises. What are those noises and can someone make him stop. I no longer consider myself a republican and Thank you John McCain for pushing me out of the party I loved

ines   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

All 3 debates – McCain is coming off as the substandard candidate. Not in the same league as Obama.

Always Blue Maryland   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

i really dislike McCain's grin tonight

Rich H   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

disappointed. . .how?

The Oracle   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

I actually think Both are doing better this debate, but McCain looks flustered and desperate. Like he thinks this is his last chance...

teddy   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

a clown show in his pin stripe suite to make him look more "hip"

mn   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

Mccain has definitely no metal, very politician like same old same old

Lorraine   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

With all that lying going on Obama should really get up and move away from McCain. When the lightening bolt strikes McCain I dont want Obama to get hit

Anne   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

I think the game McCain brought was Monopoly and how many houses he can buy.

Speechless   October 15th, 2008 9:55 pm ET

hmmmmm, cheap shots by mccain seem to be growing...Obama made a very important point about looking at the free trade aggreement and McCain missed it entirely and went for verbage and then support fot the colombia free trade aggreement – um someone tell McCain that Americans don't like free trade as it KILLS American jobs, as seen for the past decade!! DUH!

Bobbie Shrivastav   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

I would like Mccain to stop being so negative.

Christy   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Repubs are loving this McCain. But he is coming off very angry and unsteady. Not a good look.

Kim   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

I have to agree...but McCain swallowed his dignity by diving into Ayers so deeply. BUT...Obama did a great job in clearing all the air with his response. I think he is doing wonderfully tonight.

Lee   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Where's McCain's flag pin? If that's so important, then where is his?

Tim   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

'm sorry, but this is not helping McCain. He looks like a crazy person very pleased with every thing he says, whether it makes any sense at all. Also the sounds Senator McCain is making is very irriating. Please address it.

Denise OKC   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Really...what debate are YOU watching???

Godson   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

IF this is your version of a "show." You need to get a clue. Please Candy, McCain looks unhealthy and erratic.

White Christian Mother for Obama   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

spreading the wealth is the ideal solution especially now.. and the rich have been getting so many tax breaks over the last 8 years and look what has happened...

McCain is a clown that can only come up with stories... no policy.. no plans.

And If I was RICH with a few million in the bank I would be very happy to pay higher taxes.. whatelse am I gonna spend it on??? McCain is all about him!!

saint paul mn   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

steven   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

JIM HAWK   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

John McCain is one whining desperate man... The sad part about him is that he and his party are sad and desperate... Shame Shame Shame

james   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

I agree Ms Crowley

Barbara - 65 yr old white female in NC   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

I think Mcain is fighting too much

CTSadler   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

I think McCain's about to blow something.

dustin   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

anyone notice mccain sighing and rolling his eyes, seems very gore, yet he won't get nearly as many votes

Richie   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Count McW's blinks...

Heather   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

McC is so angry. Listen up Republicans-a vote for McC is a vote for WWIII

McC can't wait to push the button and bomb Iran. He is too angry to be president. We need someone calm and rational.

vic nashville,Tn   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Yes you are right Mc Cain is doing very very good

Tracy   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Cry baby, Cry!!

McCain is whining like a two-year old!

He looks like an angry old man who has a turd stuck in his Depends!

He is not presidential at all. He has no composure, no temperament, and no sense!!

Wahhhhhhh!!!!!!

Accountant Guy   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Obama just SHUT DOWN McBush!! Give it up McBush, you just got REJECTED!! Pack it up and take eskimo barbie with you!!

Obama/Biden '08

No Hillary = No Obama   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Remember: Obama is a trained lawyer. He knows how to talk and argue. He's used to it, that's his context and forte. McCain is not a trained lawyer and has not been trained in argument. McCain – what you see is what you get. He can throw a punch; Obama throws words.

Achille Salesh   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

And finally whose game is benefiting Americans now ?

EVN   October 15th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

yeah its definitely getting a bit interesting.

Im still voting for Obama

Michael, Pensacola, FL   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Yes this is a better debate, but desperation prompts that type of activity and McCain is desperate.

Sean   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

McCain looks very angry....not holding his temper very well

Dr. Roy   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Candy, I agree. I like it!!! So far, I have to give McCain the edge. He had to come out swinging to stay somewhat close in the polls.

rachel   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

I know the media will say Obama won, but the best line and I am glad mccain said it cause I was getting tired of it, If you wanted to run against bush you should have run 4 years ago.

steve bailey   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Does McCain intend to talk down to us like he's talking down to Obama?

Jay   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

To Bad McCain is a joke.

Tara, Seattle   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

I agree Candy! This is good stuff.

Fitzpatrick   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Mc Cain and the attack factor

Sean   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

I agree, very engaging and MCain is doing all he can...however I don't htink it is enough since Obama has an answer for every attack.

Tiff of lithia springs   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

Sorry Crowley,

That's not saying much.

Zion   October 15th, 2008 9:53 pm ET

I agree, I am engaged and enjoying both.

TD   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

Is Joe the Plummer looking at the bigger picture? Or is he so snowballed at what the Republican party thinks that just "now" we are in an ecominic depression? Is Joe the Plummer financially sound to enter into a new company or is Joe looking for a bail out like everyone else? By the way....McSane...calm down....Your blood pressure is up...it shows in your face color!!!

rosangel..change that im waiting for   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

CROWLEY WHY OBAMAS ISSUES ARE THE ONLY ONES ALLOWED WHY NOT TALK ABOUT PALINS INVESTIGATION AND HER ABUSE OF POWER..FAIR????

Joe Sixpack   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."We sh ould consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine".

Smarter than the GOP   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

And McCain's most irratic!

TexicoFrom Mexico   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

Why no flag pin for McCain? As a veteran myself I am offended!!!!!! Go home and be bitter! You have nothing to loose with your 100 million dollars! its us that have to clean up you and the Republicans mess....oh it will be tough and I will have to work two jobs to send my daughters to college but we will do it!

Richie   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

But McW's game is tiddly winks and big O's is professional basketball.

bnavoter   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET

Chelle in Fla   October 15th, 2008 9:52 pm ET
