No mention of North Carolina early voting from Palin

Palin stumped in traditionally-red North Carolina Thursday
Palin stumped in traditionally-red North Carolina Thursday

ELON, North Carolina (CNN) – Thursday marked the first day of early voting in North Carolina, a state unaccustomed to being in the political spotlight this late in a presidential election year.

But at an afternoon rally at Elon University near Greensboro, Republican Sarah Palin did not offer her supporters even the gentlest reminder that early voting - an opportunity both parties are working to take advantage of - is now underway at nearly 400 sites across the battleground state. Long lines at one-stop voting locations have been reported throughout North Carolina.

She did, however, mention the 85 degree heat.

“Thank you all for that very, very warm welcome to beautiful North Carolina, and it is warm,” she said. “Man, this Alaskan gal is … I’m roasting. This feels really good.”

Palin’s speech lasted only about 20 minutes, and was an abbreviated version of the remarks she delivered this morning in Maine: a brisk run-through of her ticket’s beliefs and platforms, including a one-line promise to protect Second Amendment rights.

In fact, the audience spent more time with country singer Hank Williams, Jr., who donned a Carolina Panthers jersey and warmed up the already warm crowd for about 45 minutes before Palin arrived on a local version of the Straight Talk Express along with North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr.

Near the end of her speech, Palin pressed the audience to stand firm against accusations of negative campaigning, and told them to pay “close attention” to Barack Obama’s record.

“It’s not mean-spirited and it’s not negative campaigning when you call someone out on their record,” she said. “So don’t let anyone, don’t let them make you believe that you’re being negative or mean spirited or unpatriotic or unfair when you are asking about somebody’s record, OK?”

After the rally, Palin continued on to a fundraiser at a home in Greensboro.

In reading your e-mails thank god the majority of the American peopl erealize what a shallow, no brain person Palin is. Iwas was concerned for awhile.

You watch she will be impeached as Governor in Alaska and McCain showed his judgment in picking her.

    McCain/Palin- scary

The reason they paint attacks on Obama as hateful is because McCain is not attacking any of Obama's policies.. he's simply attacking Obama. Obama does run negative ads.. but they all target McCain's policies. Not once has Obama accused McCain of anything unpatriotic, or being untrustworthy... even though there are reasons to suspect... like McCain's military records being COMPLETELY sealed off... like McCain's pastor giving David Duke a lifetime achievement award, like McCain's campaign team being lobbyists for Saudi Arabia and Iraq...

Obama takes the high road and attacks McCain's policies.. McCain just slings mud in Obama's face. And the new thing.. with the republicans setting up a robot to call thousands of households with a recorded message that Obama is a terrorist supporter and can't be trusted.. that's the absolute most despicable, lowest of low I've EVER seen a campaign go.

Palin in a moron just like "W".

She can't manage her own family. There is no way she is qualified to be VP. Her 15 minutes of fame will end on November 4th. Also on the 4th, she will disappear from the national political stage forever.

The funny part is she does not have a clue she is the reason McCain election bid is failing. The decision to pick her as VP killed McCain's chances at the Whitehouse. It clearly showed a lack of judgement by McCain.

How in the world could the US population allow McCain/Palin to represent them? They are not qualified to be leaders of a nation just because they have a microphone. Trash talk, perseverant repeat of negative distracting myth doesn't work anymore old man & subordinate he ordained as a valid VP pick. His dementia shines during his vague, nonsensical responses. I cringe when I see the overconfident, out of place, unskilled hockey girl on the ice with the varsity guys, cuz no one plays with her, so she resorts to no- skill tactics that distract from a truly great game/event. Thanks for ruining the season for all of us Sarah, however, no goals so far for you & your team. Not even reserve championship.

  12. LINN [ FAMILY VAULES]

I'M A BROOKLYN WOMAN. SARAH PALIN IS NOT FOR EVERY WOMAN. AND SHE IS NOT A ROLE MODEL. I AM A MOTHER, I AM A GRANDMOTHER. I HAD TO RAISE MY THREE DAUGHTER. WHEN MY HUSBAND DIED. I HAD TO GO TO WORK EVERYDAY TO TAKE CARE OF MY DAUGHTERS. THINK GOD ALL THREE OF THEM HAD THE SENSE TO FINISH SCHOOL WITHOUT GETTING PREGNANT AND THEY NEVER DID DRUGS. ALL THREE OF THEM HAVE JOBS AND ONE OF THEM IS IN THE MILITARY. GOV.PALIN YOU NEEDS TO CHECK YOUR FAMILY VALUES . YOU HAVE A HUSBAND AND A PREGNANT UNDER AGE DAUGHTER. THAT CHILD HAVE BOTH PARENTS IN HER LIFE. GOV.PALIN IF YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND WAS AT HOME MORE. THAN MAYBE YOUR DAUGHTER WOULD NOT HAD BEEN IN THE PREDICAMENT THAT SHE IS IN. IF TODD WOULD HAVE BEEN HOME INSTEAD OF TRYING TO BE A FIVE TIME SNOWMOBILE CHAMPION OR PALLING AROUND WITH HIS AIP FRIENDS AND IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TYING TO BE A MAYOR, GOVERNOR OF YOUR STATE. MAYBE YOUR DAUGHTER WOULD HAVE KEPT YOUR FAMILY VALUES. MRS. PALIN YOU ARE ALWAY PREACHING ABOUT FAMILY VALUES. WE SOUTHERN ALWAYS SAY YOU SHOULD PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH. APPARENTLY GOV. PALIN YOU DON'T, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH. SO, HOW DO YOU EXPECT OTHER WOMEN AND MOTHERS TO LOOK UP TO YOU. WHEN YOU ARE SHOWING AND TELLING THESE OTHER MOTHERS WHO BELIEVE IN YOU THAT IT IS ALRIGHT FOR THERE TEENAGE DAUGTHERS TO GET PREGNANT. THIS IS WHAT I'M GOING TO TELL YOU GOV.PALIN DON'T TRY TO SET EXAMPLES FOR US. BECAUSE APPARENTLY YOU DON'T NO HOW TOO . HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO RUN A COUNTRY WHEN YOU CAN'T RUN YOUR OWN HOUSEWHOLE. AND YOU SHOULD STOP TELLING AMERICAN PEOPLES THAT YOUR FAMILY IS JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER FAMILY. WHEN IT IS NOT. YOU DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE TIME TO TELL YOUR DAUGHTER ABOUT THE FACTS OF LIFE. I GUESS YOU WAS AT TO MANY HOCKEY GAMES OR PUTTING LIPSTICK ON A PIG. OR MAYBE TRYING TO GET MORE EARMARKS TO THAT BRIDGE TO NOWHERE.

  13. A Republican Concedes Victory

Everyone blames the Big Red for all the challenges we face even though the Dems control congress the lat two years and have gone along with so many initiatives regardless of party. It will be a real eye opener once Obama is pres and the dems control congress and we suck even worse. Let’s see, other countries, the wack-o celebrities in Hollywood, Ayers, ACRON, the movement to sign-up X-Cons and who knows what other extreme left groups are all working to elect Obama. While on the other hand the extreme right has reservations about McCain…so lets see who represents the main stream better. Wow. Amazing how easily the American public is distracted….can’t wait until the next four years are over.

Palin is a hate-monger. She is the worst our country has to offer the world. I feel bad for any little girl with a mother stupid enough to support Palin. That little girl will never know that having dignity and honor are important. She will think lying is just fine and she will think any publication except for FOX news is the "lying elite media". It's totally a shame any child should even be exposed to a woman like this.

For all of those contemplating to vote for B. Obama.

When did so many of the American populace decide to give up on Capitalism and turn to Socialism? Take it from someone who has lived under Socialist countries twice in my life. It is a very dangerous path you are following.

    My friends...
This dog, Palin- should be ashamed of herself forever. I cannot believe she did not call it quits by now. The more she barks the more stupidity she reveals. How dumb can someone be? It's only a matter of time before she reveals something else about her family only to further fuel a mockery of herself. You're a lying and indecent individual. I hope you find great great difficulty ahead of you. You belong with the rest of the pitchfork dwellers. Oh and anyone who supports you is obviously brainwashed by the tube. I picture primarily teenage girls, since you obviously could carry a meaningless conversation with them.
